Nick Aldis is gearing up to return to in-ring action in a match against Gunther at SummerSlam 2026, and a legendary figure had a message for him.
She is none other than his wife, Mickie James. The former six-time WWE Women’s Champion took to her X to reveal that she and Nick’s son said that everyone is cheering for the Aldis Family and rooted for his victory at the Biggest Party of the Summer. James wrote:
My son just said…“Everybody’s cheering for the Aldis Family. Let’s go Daddy!” @RealNickAldis?.
Nick Aldis had been serving as the General Manager of Friday Night SmackDown since 2023. Before that, Aldis had been a top in-ring competitor in promotions like NWA and TNA Wrestling and was even a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
However, there had been major tensions between him and Gunther, who believed that Aldis had been screwing him out of the title picture. This led to multiple verbal and physical altercations between the duo.
Things got escalated so much to the point that WWE CCO Paul “Triple H’ Levesque made the match official between Aldis and Gunther. The match has been announced to take place on Night 1 of SummerSlam 2026.
With the fans highly excited for Nick Aldis’ return to the ring, it will be exciting to see him perform and see if he can hand Gunther a major defeat.
