Lexis King is engaged to Carolina Cruz. The NXT performer proposed to the former WWE talent at a house party this weekend, and video of the moment went up on his Instagram Story on Sunday.
King set it up by grabbing a microphone in front of the room and casually calling Cruz his wife, which caught her off guard. He told the crowd there was only one thing he wanted in life that he didn’t already have, then dropped to a knee with the ring. Cruz said yes immediately, with friends packed in around them.
Cruz confirmed it in a post on her Instagram, writing that King came into her life when she least expected it and became “my best friend, my safe place.”
The timing is its own story. Five days earlier, on the September 1 episode of NXT, general manager Robert Stone told King the WWE Men’s Speed Championship was defunct after Zaria retired the women’s version at Heatwave. King handed the belt over without ever losing it in a match, closing a 133-day reign, then posted on X that nobody in NXT could catch him so the company had to take the title from him instead.
How Lexis King And Carolina Cruz Met
Both were signed to WWE and working out of the Performance Center when they got together at the end of 2023. King went public with the relationship that December.
Cruz wrestled as Emma Diaz, coming into the company through the Roku series WWE Next Gen. She made her in-ring debut in a Halloween costume battle royal at an NXT live event on October 27, 2023, and was released on May 3, 2024, without ever appearing on television. She has worked the independents since, including a run with Women of Wrestling under the name Catalina Speed.
King, the son of the late Brian Pillman, remains on the NXT roster as the leader of BirthRight alongside Charlie Dempsey, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Arianna Grace and Uriah Connors. He publicly backed AJ Styles’ son Avery during last month’s independent dues argument.
