Ric Flair Says He No Longer Owns His Own Facebook Page

Ric Flair says he no longer owns his Facebook page and apologized for posts made while he was hospitalized, thanking Tampa General staff for his care.

Ric Flair says he no longer owns his own Facebook page, and he apologized for what was posted there while he was in the hospital.

Flair addressed the situation Saturday in his first update on X since a fall outside a Tampa restaurant sent him to Tampa General Hospital on Friday. He shared a photo of himself smiling with a bandage over his right eye.

“I Don’t Own My Own Facebook Page Anymore,” Flair wrote, adding that he was answering those who had been asking about it. He called the posting behavior on the page during his hospital stay reckless and inappropriate, and apologized for it.

Flair did not say what was posted, who now controls the page, or whether the posts came from him. He also thanked the Tampa General staff and doctors who treated him until 4:30 a.m., said he is focused on healing and recovery, and promised to answer fans individually as he gets stronger. “I Will Be Okay,” he added.

The Facebook page is already a legal fight

Flair’s post did not mention his $10 million lawsuit against FAM Networks, but the page is central to that case. The complaint, filed in September in Manhattan, alleges the agency moved ownership of the Facebook page into its own business portfolio and collected as much as $20,000 a month from it while paying Flair little or nothing. Flair is asking a judge to return control of the page to him. The allegations have not been tested in court, and FAM Networks has not publicly responded.

It is unclear whether the two situations are connected.

The fall came hours after Flair told fans he was canceling a scheduled appearance because of a blood clot in his leg, with a procedure planned on the vein. TMZ reported he cut his head and eye in the fall, and Tampa Fire Rescue confirmed it took an adult male to a local hospital after a fall outside the restaurant without naming him. His daughter Charlotte Flair told fans on Friday night that he is going to be okay.
