TNA Wrestling has confirmed the first matches for Lockdown, and every one of them will be contested inside a steel cage.
The pay-per-view returns on Sunday, August 23, at Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, marking TNA’s first dedicated Lockdown event since 2016, when the promotion last ran the all-cage gimmick at Wembley Arena in London.
World Tag Team Championship
TNA World Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy will defend their titles against Nic Nemeth and Ryan Nemeth inside the cage. The Hardys reclaimed the titles at Slammiversary in a four-way ladder match that also involved the Nemeth brothers, and the rivalry between the two teams has escalated since. Nic Nemeth also holds the TNA World Championship, giving the Nemeths a chance to leave Chicago with two sets of gold.
Knockouts World Tag Team Championship
DemonXBunny, the team of Rosemary and Allie, will defend the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship against The Elegance Brand’s Heather by Elegance and M by Elegance, accompanied by The Personal Concierge. The match is a rematch clause after DemonXBunny retained the titles against the Elegance Brand this week on iMPACT.
Two More Matches Added
TNA also confirmed a pair of additional cage matches for the card on the same broadcast. Leon Slater will challenge Cedric Alexander for the TNA X-Division Championship, and AJ Francis will face Elijah in a singles cage match.
