Drew McIntyre may have found his next WWE tag team partner.

McIntyre is already a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion, having held the gold alongside Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler in past years. While speaking with SEScoops, though, “The Scottish Warrior” indicated that he might be coming for more with an unexpected partner: his “Agent of Shadows” co-star Chase Mattson.

According to McIntyre, Mattson’s natural confidence provides a solid foundation for him to become a WWE Superstar. Paired with his stunt work background, the former WWE Champion thinks Mattson has genuine potential.

“He does have that confidence, and that’s so much of our industry,” McIntyre said. “When you walk out through the curtain, the camera hits you for the first time, if you’re a deer in the headlights, the fans can see it. Even if they can’t articulate it, subconsciously they know this guy’s useless. He knows he’s a confident guy. He knows who he is.”

“Like a Logan Paul, for example, even though he had no background in wrestling, came right in and started smashing it out of the park. Drove everybody crazy and annoyed them, but that’s part of the gig as well. You get somebody like Chase with that confidence, athleticism, I am definitely going to get him in the ring.”

Mattson supported the idea, even going as far as to admit that he brought it up five or six times on the “Agent of Shadows” set. As for his and McIntyre’s tag team name, that still seems to be in the workshop phase.

“The wheels are turning,” McIntyre said. “The world’s sexiest tag team. The tall, sexy tag team. Yes, let’s go with that. Yeah, I mean, that says it all really. The world’s most jacked, sexy, handsome tag team. That just rolls off the tongue.”

WWE fans last saw McIntyre compete at WrestleMania 42 as he lost to The Bloodline’s Jacob Fatu in a grueling Unsanctioned Match. Following that, the former world champion completed a number of acting projects, including “Agent of Shadows,” a microdrama series now out on ReelShort.

The timeframe for his long-awaited in-ring return is unconfirmed as his focus remains on “Hollywood Drew” right now.
