Rey Mysterio’s Daughter Aalyah Gutierrez Headlines New WWE Recruit Class

WWE has announced its newest Performance Center class, and Rey Mysterio’s daughter is in it.

• Cara Brown (Coeur d’Alene, ID). An amateur wrestler at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee, where she also managed the football team.
• Katie Reynolds (Kokomo, IN). A former TNA referee who worked under the name Alice Lane.
• Aalyah Gutierrez (San Diego, CA). Daughter of Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and sister of Dominik Mysterio. She has appeared on WWE television several times, most recently sitting ringside for the WrestleMania 39 match between her father and brother. She also had an on-air role during the Mysterio family’s feud with Seth Rollins.
• Zoë Sager (Edmonton, Canada). A former WWE ID competitor now training full-time at the Performance Center. She played rugby and wrestled in high school, challenged for the WWE Women’s ID Championship and has worked NXT dark matches.
• Ana da Silva (Ribeirão das Neves, Brazil). A three-time Brazilian national champion in track and field who threw shot put at the University of Georgia. She competed at the 2016 World U20 Championships.
• Jackson Goonrey (Sydney, Australia). Known as Scott Green on the Australian independent scene, where he teams with Tyran Tuckey as The Dropouts. He finished runner-up out of 24 contestants on Australian Survivor: Redemption, lasting 45 days.
• Tyran Tuckey (Minto, Australia). Also called The Tuckman. He left college to wrestle full-time, a move that drew local media coverage, and became one of the busiest names in Australia.

Gutierrez, 24, graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in human biology. She reported to the Performance Center over the summer and was added to WWE’s internal roster under her real name, not Mysterio.

She’s doing good. She’s about a month and a weekend of training in, and she picks up very fast. But she also gets very frustrated very easy, but it’s normal.
