Vince Russo delivered a blistering assessment of Triple H’s WWE creative direction during an appearance on Talk Is Jericho, calling it the worst run in company history and arguing that Triple H’s refusal to hear from experienced voices outside his circle is part of the problem.
The former WWE writer, now a co-owner of Juggalo Championship Wrestling, told Chris Jericho that Triple H’s time steering the product has left him unimpressed.
Bro, this is the worst creative in the history of the WWE. This is worse than Stephanie [McMahon]… ‘Cause Triple H is the politician. Triple H is in the seat and now we’re seeing what Triple H can do. And let me tell you something, bro. What Triple H can do is not pretty,” Russo said.
Russo Says Triple H Won’t Take Outside Input
Beyond the critique itself, Russo argued that WWE is dealing with creative problems and that Triple H would never entertain a conversation with him about ideas.
You got a guy like Triple H. Obviously, they’re having a problem creatively. Is Triple H ever going to have a conversation with ME? Absolutely not,” Russo said.
And, bro, that’s stupid because I can help you because I’m not as close to it as you are. I’m seeing it completely differently. And you may be missing how casual viewers are looking at your show.
The pitch fits Russo’s recent pattern of positioning himself as an available creative collaborator, having previously floated the idea of working with Tony Khan after praising some of his booking.
Triple H’s Current Standing
Triple H has overseen WWE creative since Vince McMahon stepped back from day-to-day control in 2024, which places Russo’s criticism squarely on the promotion’s present leadership rather than a past regime.
The current title picture underneath that leadership has shifted in 2026. Sami Zayn holds the Undisputed WWE Championship after defeating Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a triple threat match at Night of Champions on June 27, 2026, a win that also made him a Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion. Roman Reigns is the World Heavyweight Champion, having beaten CM Punk for the title at WrestleMania 42 on April 19, 2026.
