WWE opted to air a taped episode of SmackDown this Friday, which was recorded alongside this past Monday's Raw. The company then taped both the Raw and SmackDown episodes for next week, tonight, from Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI. Below are the spoiler results from the show, including a big title change:
- Opening Match: Joe Hendry vs. The Miz: The show opens with a Joe Hendry concert. He sings a parody version of Jingle Bells, mocking the Miz for having tiny balls. The two then face each other in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight. The fight featured a number of characters, including Otis dressed as Santa Claus and Akira Tozawa dressed as an elf. A mystery man in a rabbit costume was revealed to be R-Truth. Hendry picked up the victory in the end.
- Backstage Promo: Byron Saxton interviews Jade Cargill. Jade calls out Michin. The former Mia Yim responds with a backstage promo of her own from a different area of the arena, being joined by B-Fab.
- Singles Match: Charlotte Flair vs. Lash Legend: The Queen picks up the victory over the rookie star.
- US Title Match: Ilja Dragunov vs. Carmelo Hayes: Dragunov had announced in a backstage segment that he was closing the US title open challenge, but agreed to face Hayes in a rematch. The two then had a match which was described as a PPV-quality bout, with Melo picking up the victory in the end. Ilja put the title around Hayes as a show of respect after the bout.

Nikki Bella Addresses Fans Calling Her A ‘Whore’
- Tag Team Match: Giulia & Kiana James vs. Chelsea Green & Alba Fyre: Giulia picks up the victory for her team, pinning Green.
- Backstage Segment: Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss are seen backstage, but the whole thing turns into a shouting match with multiple tag teams getting involved.
- Match Announcements: A multi-team #1 contender's bout for the Women's Tag Titles is announced for the January 2 SmackDown after the earlier segment. Jade Cargill vs. Michin for the Women’s title and Damian Priest vs. Aleister Black is also announced.
- Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre segment: Cody demands an apology from Drew McIntyre in a backstage segment also involving Nick Aldis, but the Scottish Warrior heads to the ring instead. McIntyre cuts a promo blaming the referee for his SNME loss against Rhodes. A Three Stages of Hell match for the WWE title is then announced for the January 9 SmackDown. McIntyre tells Cody to say hi to his dad when he reaches hell, and attacks the American Nightmare. Drew stands tall to end the show.
