Young Fan’s Ringside Moment With JD McDonagh Goes Viral

ByStuart TaraProfessional Wrestling Journalist

One of the biggest talking points from Saturday Night’s Main Event had nothing to do with the action inside the ring.

As JD McDonagh made his entrance, a young fan standing near the aisle threw a couple of small objects in his direction before immediately flashing the Judgment Day member the middle finger. Despite the unexpected moment, McDonagh never broke character, calmly continuing his walk to the ring as if nothing had happened.

The clip quickly exploded across social media, dividing fans in the process. Some found the interaction hilarious, believing the child had completely bought into McDonagh’s villainous character and reacted exactly the way a top WWE heel is supposed to make fans feel.

Others weren’t laughing. They pointed out that while booing a heel or even flipping them off has long been part of wrestling crowds, throwing objects at performers crosses a line, regardless of how harmless those objects may seem, because it creates an unnecessary safety risk.

Thankfully, McDonagh wasn’t injured, and the incident didn’t interrupt the show. Even so, the unexpected exchange has become one of the most viral moments from Saturday Night’s Main Event, proving that sometimes the biggest stories from a WWE event happen before the opening bell even rings.
