Zilla Fatu is back at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, and sources now believe he has a signed contract with the company. False Finish reported the update, which pushes the story further than it has gone since Fatu first turned up at the Orlando facility in June.
WWE has not announced a signing. The reporting stops at belief rather than confirmation, so this reads as the strongest indication yet and not a closed deal.
The timing lines up with what happened last week. Fatu dropped the HOG Crown Jewel Championship to Amazing Red on August 7 in Jamaica, Queens, then got a send-off that left little to interpret. Red wished him “good luck” on the microphone while the crowd chanted his name, and commentary framed him as heading for bigger stages.
The NXT Question
Fightful Select reported in June that WWE expected to sign Fatu if it had not already done so, following PWInsider’s report that placed him at the Performance Center on June 8. False Finish followed in early July with word that talks centered on starting him in NXT before working him into the Bloodline story, which matched what Dave Meltzer had written in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Television may not wait that long. Roman Reigns has rebuilt the on-screen Bloodline with Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso and Jacob Fatu, and Monday’s Raw ended with Solo Sikoa losing to Jey in the main event before posting a message on Instagram suggesting his character is ready to fall back in line. A signed Zilla would be the next obvious domino.
Fatu, 26, is the son of the late Umaga and a cousin of the Usos and Sikoa. He debuted in 2023 after training at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling, and built his reputation across House of Glory, GCW and Reality of Wrestling. Paul Heyman said earlier this year that WWE should sign him at the first opportunity.
