Former WWE Champion Makes Unannounced AEW Debut

Former WWE star Baron Corbin, now going by the name of Bishop Dyer made his AEW debut tonight.

The company presented the latest episode of Dynamite from Addition Arena in Orlando, Florida, this Wednesday. Some bouts were contested before the show went on air, including an 8-man tag team match.

The bout saw Dyer teaming up with Martin Stone & Better Together to square off against the team of Billy Gunn, Austin Gunn, Brady Booker, & Elijah Drago:

This wasn't all, as fans also saw Sting's son Steven Borden teaming with QT Marshall for a match against Nathan Cruz & Rosario Grillo before the show. It's unknown if either of these matches will air on TV.

The former WWE US Champion has been active in the independent circuit since leaving the company in November 2024 after his contract expired and the promotion decided not to offer him a new deal.

He has alluded to someone in the top brass being the reason behind his departure from the promotion but not revealed any names.

A dark match appearance likely means that AEW is testing the waters with Dyer, and it's unlikely that the promotion has offered him a long-term deal as of now.
