Darby Allin finished the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday with an official time of 5:34:34, averaging 12:46 per mile through all five boroughs.
The AEW TNT Champion left the start at 9:15 a.m. ET and came through the 5K mark in 35:38, according to the race’s official live tracker. He went out at roughly an 11-minute-mile clip before settling into a slower pace over the back half.
It was the first marathon of his life. When Allin announced the run in June, he told Jon Alba of The Takedown on SI that he planned to wing it rather than follow a training plan. “I don’t even have running shoes yet,” Allin said at the time.
He ran in support of KultureCity, a nonprofit focused on sensory accessibility and inclusion for people with invisible disabilities. New York Road Runners named him among the notable entrants for the race, which marked the 50th anniversary of the five-borough course.
The marathon is the latest entry on a long list of stunts outside the ring. Allin completed his climb of Mount Everest in 2025, and he has described nearly drowning while trying to kickflip on the ocean floor with sharks circling.
No rest before Blood & Guts
Sunday capped a punishing week. On Wednesday, Allin retained the TNT Championship against Josh Alexander on Fright Night Dynamite in St. Louis. Two days later, he made his CMLL debut against Hechicero at Día de Muertos in Arena Mexico.
Three days after crossing the finish line, he’s back in action. Allin teams with Will Ospreay, Adam Copeland, Steven Borden and The Young Bucks against the Don Callis Family’s Kazuchika Okada, Wardlow, Kyle Fletcher, Mark Davis, Kevin Knight and Jake Doyle in the Men’s Blood & Guts match on Wednesday’s Dynamite.
