AEW Fright Night Dynamite airs tonight (Wednesday, October 28, 2026) from Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, live on TBS and HBO Max starting at 8 PM ET.
AEW dresses up its flagship show for Halloween with two championship matches and the tiebreaking third match in the best-of-five series between FTR and the Motor City Machine Guns. Darby Allin defends the TNT Championship against Josh Alexander, and Persephone puts the TBS Championship on the line against Queen Aminata. AEW will also tape the Fright Night edition of Collision in St. Louis after Dynamite goes off the air. That episode airs Saturday, October 31, on TNT and HBO Max.

Here are the matches announced for tonight’s show:
Darby Allin (c) vs. Josh Alexander (TNT Championship Match)
Josh Alexander called his shot on Saturday’s Collision in Winston-Salem. After making Blade Brown submit to the ankle lock, the Don Callis Family member said it was time to pull his weight and demanded a fight with Allin for the TNT Championship on Fright Night. Tony Khan made the match official.
The two have never met one-on-one, according to Sports Illustrated, though Allin and Steven Borden beat Alexander and Mark Davis in a tag team match on Dynamite. That was before Borden came back last week with Allin’s help to fight off the Callis Family, then booked himself into Blood and Guts after his surprise Dynamite return. Tonight gives the Callis Family a chance to take a title off one of their Blood and Guts opponents a week early.
Persephone (c) vs. Queen Aminata (TBS Championship Match)
Queen Aminata earned this shot last Wednesday in Coral Gables, beating the returning Maya World in a #1 contender’s match with a Queen’s Crown headbutt and Off With Her Head. Persephone, who also holds the CMLL World Women’s Championship, watched from commentary alongside Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.
Baker has been a factor in Persephone’s title reign before. She showed up when the champion retained the TBS Championship against Dani Luna at All Out, and the pairing has been a problem for the rest of the women’s division since.
FTR vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Best-of-Five Series, Match #3)
The series is tied 1-1. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin took Match #1, which started on the Tailgate Brawl and finished at WrestleDream. FTR evened it on Saturday’s Collision in their home state of North Carolina, and they did not do it cleanly.
With Shelley going for a victory roll, Cash Wheeler sat down on him while Stokely grabbed Shelley’s arm and Wheeler held the ropes, all out of the referee’s view. Dax Harwood has called AEW the home for tag team wrestling, and whoever wins tonight goes up 2-1 with a chance to close the series out next.
Road to AEW Full Gear 2026
AEW Full Gear 2026 takes place Saturday, November 14 at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Before that comes Blood and Guts on next Wednesday’s Dynamite, November 4, in Jacksonville. Will Ospreay, Adam Copeland, Steven Borden, the Young Bucks and Darby Allin face the Don Callis Family’s Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, Wardlow, Kevin Knight, Mark Davis and Jake Doyle. Willow Nightingale, Wrathlander and the Brawling Birds face Triangle of Madness and Divine Dominion in the women’s match. Tonight is the last Dynamite before both cage matches, and the first matches confirmed for AEW Full Gear are already in place.
