Liv Morgan hit 100 days as WWE Women’s World Champion on Monday, and she marked it on X with a selfie, the title held up beside her, and a caption calling herself the “greatest women’s world champion of alllllllllllll time.”
The replies did not cooperate. Morgan has not defended the championship on television or at a premium live event since winning it from Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42 on April 18, and that gap swallowed the thread within minutes.
“You haven’t even defended it once your entire reign,” one fan wrote back. Others argued a reign without a defense doesn’t qualify as a reign at all, while a smaller group pointed the criticism at WWE instead, noting that fans ran the same play on Jade Cargill when she was booked the same way.
Three Months, No Title Match On TV
Morgan’s win at WrestleMania 42 Night 1 lasted just under seven minutes and made her a three-time Women’s World Champion. She has stayed visible since without putting the belt on the line, most notably losing to IYO SKY in the Queen of the Ring final at Night of Champions in Riyadh.
No outlet has reported an injury. The coverage consistently reads the gap as a creative call, with WWE holding the first defense for the biggest weekend of the summer.
Monday’s Raw followed the same pattern. Morgan worked the show from ringside during the Women’s Intercontinental Championship match, where Raquel Rodriguez took the title from Sol Ruca, but she never wrestled.
The Wait Ends At SummerSlam
Morgan defends against IYO SKY on Night 1 of SummerSlam, Saturday, August 1 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. SKY earned the shot by winning the 2026 Queen of the Ring tournament, beating Morgan in the final and challenging her on the spot. A win would make SKY a two-time Women’s World Champion.
The backlash lands at an awkward moment for the division. Charlotte Flair drew attention last week after liking a post that criticized how few women’s matches WWE had announced for the two-night show, a card that has since filled out across both nights.
WWE’s own positioning of Morgan has run in the opposite direction. Triple H used the new season of WWE Unreal to call her a “Ring General” and project her as one of the biggest stars the women’s division has produced. Saturday gives her the first chance in three months to argue the point with the title on the line.
