R-Truth says he is on the shelf.
The WWE veteran has not wrestled a match since the May 1 episode of SmackDown. The show saw Truth and his partner Damian Priest successfully defending their tag titles against Fraxiom. After the bout, Solo Sikoa led MFT attacked the duo.
The current champion spoke to WittyWhittier for an interview recently. They talked about things such as how he makes people break character, his WWE firing last year, and more.
R-Truth Provides Medical Update
During the talk, R-Truth was also asked if there was a dream team he would like to defend the tag titles against, like The MFT. The 54-year-old first repeated the philosophy of his older brother John Cena, saying that he is ready to defend the title against anyone. Truth then claimed, however, that he was not medically cleared because of the attack from Solo Sikoa and his group:
Anybody. There’s no dream, man. We live in the reality right now. And like my childhood hero, my older brother would say, it’s open challenges to them dog. We invite them all. [If] they want to step up, pull up. MFTs, we got to take care of them cuz they on a whole different thing, dog. They like, they’re hurting people. I’m not even medically released yet because of the MFTs. You know what I’m saying? So, it’s like right now they on the radar, dog.
Considering that Truth and Priest had been regularly defending the tag belts before the May 1 episode, it seems possible that the wrestling legend did suffer some kind of injury that has kept him out of action. Though it appears that the officials are not expecting him to be on shelf for too long since they have not taken him off TV or stripped the duo of the titles.
