WWE moved fast on its WrestleMania 43 plans, and Tony Khan appears to be part of the reason why.
Per WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, some WWE officials expect AEW to have a significant presence somewhere in the United States during WrestleMania 43 weekend. According to a WWE source, that expectation was among the factors behind the company announcing its stateside festivities nearly nine months out.
The situation is unusual by design. WrestleMania 43 heads to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in April 2027, the first time the show has been staged outside North America, leaving a rare vacancy on American soil during wrestling’s biggest weekend. WWE is filling it with watch parties across the country, headlined by the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden, which will host viewing events for both nights along with AAA Eternal Glory and NXT Stand & Deliver.
Khan hasn’t hidden his interest. He has been asked more than once about AEW running something stateside in April 2027 while WWE is overseas, and he’s spoken openly about the possibility. WWE, it seems, is taking him at his word.
