TNA Wrestling’s creative leadership is taking new shape following the departure of Tommy Dreamer, with a couple of names reportedly stepping in to run the show.
According to PWInsider (Mike Johnson), Vice President of TV Production Eric Tompkins is set to work hand-in-hand with Hunter “Delirious” Johnston on the promotion’s creative direction.
Johnson cited a source as saying Tompkins and Johnston will serve as co-heads of the creative team, though he noted he could not fully confirm the development.
The report adds that there has been buzz about TNA bringing in additional people to handle creative, but nothing else is confirmed at this time.
Tommy Dreamer Departure Prompted The Shakeup
It was previously reported that Dreamer and TNA parted ways. Beyond his on-screen presence, Dreamer had worked as a backstage producer, a talent relations executive, and the head of creative.
Following his departure, Fightful Select reported that several talents were unhappy with Dreamer’s booking. There have also been reports of TNA pursuing former WWE SmackDown lead writer Brian “Road Dogg” James as the ECW legend’s replacement.
Dreamer’s recent run drew scrutiny on multiple fronts, with figures including Missy Hyatt defending Dreamer following allegations and Mickie James backing him amid online claims in recent weeks.
