WWE NXT Spoiler Airing July 7: New Title Contenders

WWE taped content for the July 7 episode of NXT both before and after the June 30 episode of the development show that came live on The CW. Below are the spoilers on the segments which may not air in the order they were taped:

  • Fatal Four Way #1 Contender Match For NXT Women’s North American Championship: Layla Diggs def. Izzi Dame, Lizzy Rain, and Thea Hail: The action-heavy match saw Diggs win with a moonsault on Hail.
  • Tavion Heights Promo: Heights talked about losing the North American Title to Myles Borne at Great American Bash before The Vanity Project came out. Jackson Drake said he should have been the #1 contender, not Tavion, leading to a brawl. Myles Borne came out to make the save for Tavion Heights.
  • Singles Match: Niko Vance (with Izzi Dame) def. Shiloh Hill: Tristan Angels caused the distraction, allowing Vance to pick up the victory. Shawn Spears appeared after the match and took out Niko with a chair to the back.
  • Singles Match: Keanu Carver def Tank Ledger: The match was made after Ledger interfered in Carver’s bout this week.
  • Fatal Four Way #1 Contender Match For NXT Tag Team Championship: Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy Def. BirthRight, OTM, and Darkstate: Saquon Shugars tried to interfere in the bout but was stopped by Dion Lennox. BirthRight brawled OTM to the back, allowing Van Dux and Legacy to pick up the victory.
  • Kali Armstrong Promo: Lola Vice and Kelani Jordan interrupted with both making claims at the NXT Women’s title. A brawl ensued with Armstrong taking both the women out with the Kali Connection.
  • NXT Women’s Championship Match: Kendal Grey (c) (with Wren Sinclair) def. Nattie (with Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons): Chaos ensued as Wren tried to stop Petrovic and Lyons from getting involved in the bout. Lola Vice joined Sinclair and the four women brawled to the back, Kendal picked up the win with Shades of Grey. Jaida Parker made an appearance to take out Karmen and Nikkita after the match and had a staredown with Nattie. Kelani Jordan, Kali Armstrong, and Lola Vice all joined Grey in the ring as the NXT Women’s Champion stood tall with her belt.

WWE also taped the July 3 episode of SmackDown in advance which confirmed Sami Zayn’s first Undisputed Title defence and challenger. You can check out the results for the show here.
