Why Mick Foley Is Holding Off Judgment On “Instrumental” Vince McMahon

0

Since Vince McMahon’s resignation from WWE in January 2024, many names have condemned the billionaire who is accused of sexual harassment of Janel Grant. While McMahon is persona non-grata on WWE TV, some current Superstars have spoken about their former boss. Cody Rhodes has called the situation a “dark cloud” while Seth Rollins has said that if the claims are true, he hopes everyone involved gets what they deserve.

One name that worked closely with McMahon for years is Mick Foley who has not been among those condemning the 79-year-old billionaire. At a Q&A panel at Comic-Con Northern Ireland, Foley shared his take on the McMahon situation.

“I feel really bad that someone I care about got into something that seems pretty unsavory. I’m gonna hold off judgment until I see the [Mr. McMahon Netflix docuseries.]”

Foley went on, saying that regardless of “whatever he did or did not do,” the McMahon scandal won’t “mess with our memories” of the former WWE CEO.

“He was instrumental in creating some of those memories, so I’m choosing to appreciate him until I learn more about what may have gone down.”

This isn’t the first time Foley has taken something of a softer approach to McMahon compared to his contemporaries. During a February 2024, edition of his Foley is Pod show, the former World Champion again expressed his hope that fans remember the good from McMahon despite the disturbing allegations.

“I hope it doesn’t take away from people’s amazing memories of all the things that Mr. McMahon created or helped create including my character and the programs that I was in.”

That same month, John Cena shared his love for McMahon despite the “super unfortunate” allegations against him, but added he’s an “advocate of accountability.” McMahon has consistently claimed that McMahon’s relationship with Janel Grant was consensual, and his legal team has gone as far as to say McMahon was her ‘best friend’ in WWE.

Drew McIntyre Takes Aim At CM Punk’s ‘Father-Daughter’ Stance with Roxanne Perez

0

Since arriving in WWE, Roxanne Perez has made no secret about growing up idolizing AJ Lee and CM Punk, who are affectionately referred to as her wrestling ‘parents.’ During the September 17, WWE NXT, Perez shared the ring with Punk and had some choice words for dear old dad.

Interrupting Punk’s segment on the show, The Prodigy spoke about Punk being one of her favorite wrestlers but admitted that she always preferred Punk’s wife AJ Lee. Perez added that she wished she’d grown up as a Drew McIntyre, who Perez is confident will end Punk’s career at WWE Bad Blood inside Hell in a Cell.

These comments caught the attention of McIntyre who mocked Punk’s psuedo-parental relationship with Perez. On Twitter, McIntyre said he was proud of the reigning WWE NXT Women’s Champion, but only a freak would see her as a daughter figure.

What’s To Come?

Perez will defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Giulia at the October 1, show that will also mark NXT’s premiere on The CW Network. The show will take place in Chicago, Illinois, and will also see an appearance by Punk. The Chicago-Made star will return to his hometown to officiate the NXT Championship match between Ethan Page and challenger Trick Williams.

Just days later, Punk will step into Hell in a Cell against McIntyre at Bad Blood. This match will be Punk’s first Hell in a Cell match since 2013 and McIntyre’s first since 2021. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Drew McIntyre and his war with CM Punk that will see both men enter Hell on October 5.

CM Punk’s Role, Miz TV Announced For NXT CW Premiere

0

WWE has confirmed CM Punk’s role as well as the appearance of another former World Champion for NXT’s CW premiere on October 1.

NXT GM Ava held a contract signing between NXT Champion Ethan Page and Trick Williams during the latest episode of the show. Before getting into the segment, she announced that The Miz will be holding a special edition of Miz TV on the CW premiere while also confirming a Randy Orton match for the week after that.

The contract signing couldn’t be completed, however, as Page delivered an Ego’s Edge on his opponent and left without putting pen to paper. This led to NBA star Tyrese Haliburton making an appearance during the main event of the show.

Haliburton brought out both Williams and Page and made them sign the contract. The basketball star mentioned that there was one more thing to announce and then Punk came out. The Straight Edge Star confirmed that he will be the special guest referee for the upcoming title match. The show ended with both NXT stars brawling each other.

This might not be the only championship match Punk gets involved in at the upcoming show. The episode also saw NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez offering some harsh words to her childhood hero during a segment before her upcoming title defense against Giulia.

Giulia herself came out later to confront the champion. Punk had to intervene to stop Perez from attacking the Japanese star with the title belt. It’s very much possible that the wrestling veteran will have a part to play when the two female stars finally face each other at the upcoming episode.

Updated NXT On CW Premiere Match Card

Apart from CM Punk and The Miz, WWE has confirmed that Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair will also be making an appearance at the upcoming show. Here is everything that has been announced for October 1:

  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair
  • NXT Women’s Championship Match: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Giulia
  • Miz TV
  • Street Fight: Wes Lee vs. Zachary Wentz
  • NXT Championship Match With Special Guest Referee CM Punk: Ethan Page (c) vs. Trick Williams

Watch: Tyrese Haliburton Roasts the Orlando Magic At (9/17) WWE NXT

0

The September 17, edition of WWE NXT saw the Superstars of the gold brand continue on the road to WWE NXT’s premiere on the CW, which will come on October 1. It wasn’t just the Superstars who appeared on this week’s show, however, as members of the Indiana Pacers also made their presence felt.

Tyrese Haliburton, decked in the shirt of NXT head Shawn Michaels, was initially shown meeting with NXT GM Ava and Haliburton was later part of the contract signing between NXT Champion Ethan Page and Trick Williams. Being a Pacer, Haliburton got a frosty reception from the Orlando crowd but had a comeback for those booing him and his team.

Tyrese Haliburton And WWE

Haliburton’s wrestling love is no secret, as he shared a heartwarming meeting with Booker T and Queen Sharmell in December 2023. In July 2024, Haliburton appeared on SmackDown and came to the aid of Logan Paul in a U.S. Championship qualifying match. Unfortunately for the duo, Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks prevented Haliburton from passing the brass knuckles to Paul in the Money in the Bank qualifying match that was won by LA Knight.

The world of pro wrestling and celebrity athletes have often come together and we can’t count out future appearances for Tyrese Haliburton in WWE. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on the basketball star and any plans he may have for a future in the ring.

AEW Rampage Could Be Canceled As Part Of New TV Deal

0

Earlier this month, AEW filed a trademark for ‘AEW Shockwave’, exciting fans with the prospect of another weekly show from Tony Khan’s promotion. AEW Shockwave could provide a bolt of excitement into the company’s weekly schedule, but it will also reportedly mark the end of one of AEW’s current programs.

AEW Rampage will not be continued, a source informed the Wrestling Observer, and instead, AEW Shockwave will serve as the promotion’s third weekly show. The new show is expected to be shopped around to FOX, who recently finished their relationship with WWE, as well as other networks.

John Ourand notes that AEW is pitching another package “primarily” to broadcast channels, which would include ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Telemundo, Univision, The CW, and ION. The CW will soon be the home of WWE NXT and the gold brand will make its debut on the network on October 1, with a stacked show in Chicago, Illinois.

AEW Rampage

Rampage launched in 2021, close to two years after AEW Dynamite hit screens in October 2019. While the show received a strong start, including the debut of CM Punk, Rampage quickly fell in terms of significance as AEW’s main storylines were kept to Dynamite. This pseudo-irrelevancy became the case even more in 2023 when AEW launched Collision, with Rampage becoming the least important of AEW’s weekly shows when it comes to developing storylines.

AEW’s TV Deals

AEW’s current TV deal with WarnerBros Discovery is scheduled to expire later this year and the company’s media rights has been a hot topic among fans. Tony Khan has teased some big announcements for the company including saying that AEW was “here to stay” on TBS and TNT.

AEW’s new deal with WBD is said to be in the ballpark of $170 million a year, according to Ourand. The deal will see AEW shows airing on TNT, TBS, and TruTV twice a week, leaving open the possibility of Shockwave appearing on FOX after SmackDown’s recent exit from the Network.

Current AEW TV deals are believed to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $70 million, so this ballpark figure is a huge boost for Tony Khan and his promotion. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on AEW and its future on TV.

Randy Orton Set To Compete At October 8 NXT

0

Randy Orton’s role for the October 8 episode of NXT has been revealed.

WWE’s third brand will be moving to its new home on The CW at the start of October and the company is looking to make a big impact upon the premiere.

They had previously announced that CM Punk and Randy Orton will respectively be appearing on the first and second episode of the show on the CW.

During the most recent episode of the development brand, General Manager Ava announced that The Viper would actually be competing at the show coming live from his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.

Orton’s opponent was confirmed later when Je’Von Evans asked Ava for a match and the 14-time world champion responded to his request on Twitter:

Randy has previously made one appearance for the brand. He defeated Damien Sandow in a match during the March 17, 2013 episode of the show when it was still a one-hour broadcast.

The Legend Killer won’t be the only main roster star appearing at the upcoming event as Austin Theory and Grayson Waller have also been announced.

The duo collectively known as A-Town Down Under will be challenging Axiom & Nathan Frazer for the NXT Tag Team Championships. The episode will also see the return of Sexyy Red, though what she will be doing at the event has not been revealed.

Despite the inclusion of the big names, the episode seems to be drawing limited interest from people. The company recently moved it from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis to the smaller venue of The Factory at The District in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Sheamus Celebrates New WWE Contract: “Pints are on me!”

0

Since debuting in WWE in 2009, Sheamus has enjoyed a career most wrestlers can only dream of, including four reigns as World Champion. Now, fans can expect to see much more of the Celtic Warrior in the ring as he has signed a contract extension with WWE.

News of Sheamus’ contract extension was shared by Pat McAfee on the popular broadcaster’s show. McAfee, who recently had Sheamus on an episode of his show from Dublin, Ireland, was excited to see “banger after banger after banger” from the Irish Superstar. According to PWInsider, it’s a five-year contract that will keep him part of the WWE family through late 2029.

Sheamus shared a celebratory reply to the Pat McAfee clip on social media:

WWE’s Re-Signed Superstars

Sheamus is the latest notable name to lock down a new deal with WWE in 2024. In April, Drew McIntyre re-signed with WWE, putting to bed fan speculation that he would be signing with AEW in time for All In: London. McIntyre’s re-signing not only saw the Scottish Warrior get a new contract, but also a sword gifted to him by TKO’s Dwayne Johnson.

More recently, Randy Orton confirmed reports that he has re-signed with WWE with a deal that should keep him around until 2029. While Orton could have seen his previous deal frozen due to his time away due to his back injury, WWE reportedly felt it was fairer to let Orton negotiate a new deal given how much the handling of contracts has changed.

Now, Sheamus has joined his fellow former World Champions in re-signing with WWE. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Sheamus and his years to come as a WWE Superstar.

Rhea Ripley’s Emotional Reaction to Judgment Day Breakup

0

Rhea Ripley has revealed that she was very emotional upon leaving the Judgment Day and she cried on the night of their breakup.

The Mami recently appeared on The Casual Conversations podcast. She talked about things such as working with Edge during the initial run of the group, competing in the WarGames match and more.

When asked what being part of the Judgment Day meant for her, the Eradicator revealed that it helped her finally feel fully comfortable in front of crowds because she had people to fall back on:

“The Judgment Day was really family to me. Like it really was. It has helped my career so much more than I could actually put into words. Cause I feel like that was when I started opening up and feeling comfortable going out there in front of the crowd cause I had the boys that I could fall back on. So it was really emotional for me.”

‘They Were My Family’: Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley joined the Judgment Day featuring Edge and Damian Priest at WrestleMania: Backlash in 2022. The group went through many changes over the next couple of years. They kicked Edge out of it while adding members such as ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh.

Ripley was finally expelled from the faction herself when Dominik Mysterio turned on her and aligned with Liv Morgan instead at SumerSlam 2024. Damian Priest was also kicked out of the group by Finn Balor on the same night. This marked the end of a chapter for the Judgment Day as all founding members left the faction.

The former Women’s Champion mentioned how there were reports about a member crying backstage after that show. She is not ashamed to admit it was her:

“I saw something come out about Judgment Day members, a specific one crying backstage after everything. I’m not ashamed of it. That was me. I was upset. Like the last two and a half years of my life is gonna be…like it’s changed now. I can’t go back to that. They were my boys; they were my family. It was really sad.”

The female star is taking a positive approach to the situation, however, and she believes that when one good thing ends, something amazing starts from it. She claimed that she is now loving her time absolutely brutalizing the group which she characterizes as ‘Street Trash.’

Eric Bischoff Believes This Name Deserves More Credit For Success of DX

0

Eric Bischoff believes there is one member of the D-Generation X who gets less credit for the success of the group than he deserves.

While talking to Inside The Ropes‘ Kenny McIntosh, The former WCW President discussed DX’s invasion of WCW on April 27, 1998 when both Raw and Nitro were held miles apart in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.

During the session, Bischoff claimed that Sean Waltman, known as X-Pac at the time deserves more credit for making the whole thing believable:

“This guy gets very little credit for the success of DX. A lot of people take credit for shit they don’t deserve to get credit for, right? One of the guys who really helped make DX believable and feel real was Sean Waltman, X-Pac. Cause I fired him—he was a part of nWo.”

He Brought That Edge: Eric Bischoff

Triple H ejected Shawn Michaels from DX after he lost to Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania XIV. The Game then assumed full control of the group and recruited Sean Waltman as well as the New Age Outlaws into the faction. This came months after Waltman was fired by Eric Bischoff via FedEx while he was on shelf with a neck injury.

The former WCW official claimed that they had developed an edgy character for the former Cruiserweight Champion which he ended up using against them:

“He had that personality, he brought that edge, he brought that character, that sense of ‘screw it, I’ll do whatever it takes.’ He brought that character that we created, and he was very instrumental in by the way, and supportive of. But when I fired him—and I did—he took that same character with him, and he was a part of DX. He used that same creative psychology to fire back at us.”

DX remained together until Triple H and Chyna turned on X-Pac and joined the Corporation at WrestleMania XV. While Waltman and the Outlaws continued using the name even after this, the turn is considered the end of DX’s first run by many as all original members of the group had left the faction.

Bronson Reed Fined “Massive” Amount For Launching Fan on WWE Raw

0

History was made on this week’s WWE Raw during the Super Heavyweight clash between “Big” Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman. As soon as Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced this clash, fans knew they were in for a wild ride. However, nobody could have predicted what unfolded.

During their match, Reed etched his place in WWE highlight reels for years to come when he plucked an unsuspecting fan from the audience and launched him at Strowman:

The surreal moment left viewers stunned and quickly went viral on social media. That’s great for creating buzz, but you can’t just go around throwing people. Attacking an innocent audience member is conduct unbecoming of a WWE Superstar, regardless of the circumstances.

Who Was The Fan?

The WWE fan who got launched by Bronson Reed on Raw has been identified by The Local Competitor (@LocalCompWWE) as independent wrestler Nessy Henrdicks.

Nessy Henrix (@Instntclssic) appeared as an extra on WWE television earlier this year. On the February 25 episode of WWE Raw, Hendrix was hired by Paul Heyman as one of his security guards. Things did not go well for Mr. Hendrix that night either.

The Punishment

Adam Pearce agrees with this assessment and wasted no time addressing the incident. In a decisive move, Pearce levied a “massive undisclosed fine” on Bronson Reed.Furthermore and notwithstanding, both Reed and Strowman will also have to pay up for the destruction they caused during their match.

Bronson Reed has demonstrated that he can hold is own against Braun Strowman. However, it takes a lot more than in-ring tenacity to become a WWE Champion and headline WrestleMania, as Strowman has. Reed has the size and agility to continue climbing the ranks, but this fan-throwing incident shows that he still needs to improve the often-overlooked mental aspect of this sport.

0

Let’s take a look at the greatest WCW wrestlers of all time, ranked from 12 down to 1 based on their impact, skill, and legacy within the company.

11. Scott Steiner

Scott Steiner’s transformation from one half of the Steiner Brothers tag team to the “Big Poppa Pump” persona is one of wrestling’s most dramatic character evolutions.

9. Dean Malenko

As Hollywood Hogan, he became WCW’s top villain and a central figure in the Monday Night Wars.

3. Goldberg

Few wrestlers have made as immediate and lasting an impact as Goldberg. His undefeated streak of 173-0 captivated audiences and made him one of WCW’s biggest draws.

Goldberg’s intensity, power, and no-nonsense approach created a phenomenon that rivaled even Steve Austin in popularity at points.

2. Sting

Artem Chigvintsev Seeks Joint Custody Of Son in Split with Nikki Garcia

0

On August 29, Artem Chigvintsev was arrested on charges of domestic battery of a spouse and was later released on bail. In 2020, he and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia welcomed their son Matteo into the world, and now both parents have filed for what they believe is an appropriate level of custody.

Chigvintsev, best known for his role on Dancing With The Stars, has filed for joint custody of Matteo, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. He is also requesting spousal support and for Garcia to cover his attorney’s fees and costs. Chigvintsev made a 9-1-1 call on the day of his arrest, requesting medical assistance, though later called to say it was no longer needed.

Garcia on the other hand, has filed for sole legal and physical custody of Matteo, while allowing visitation rights for Chigvintsev. She has also requested that the court terminate spousal support for both parties. Garcia, who competed for WWE as Nikki Bella, was reportedly encouraged to end her marriage to Chigvintsev by her sister Brie after the alleged violence.

The former WWE Divas Champion officially filed for divorce on Wednesday, September 11, with both sides citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. Both have also cited Thursday, August 29, as the date of separation, which coincides with Chigvintsev’s arrest.

The couple met in 2017 on Dancing with the Stars while Garcia was engaged to John Cena, though their relationship would end in early 2018. Garcia would reconnect with Chgvintsev after this and the couple announced their engagement in late 2019.

After becoming parents to Matteo in July 2020, the couple got married in a private Parisian ceremony in August 2022, though Garcia’s filing gives the date as January 19, 2023. The couple had celebrated their second wedding anniversary mere days before Chigvintsev’s arrest.

Megan Thee Stallion Agreed To Mercedes Moné Collab Before WWE SmackDown Song

0

Ahead of SmackDown’s return to the USA Network, WWE confirmed that Neva Play, a track by Megan Thee Stallion featuring RM of BTS will serve as the blue brand’s new theme song. Getting the award-winning artist on board is a huge score for WWE, especially as she was reportedly set to work with WWE’s chief rival not too long ago.

Megan Thee Stallion had agreed to collaborate with AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné, PW Insider reports, before she agreed for her track to become the official theme song of WWE SmackDown. Negotiations took place between Megan’s manager, Mike B of Roc Nation, and Mercedes’ manager, Keven Undergaro, about a collaboration.

The two met in February at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Japan where both women presented awards. Moné hinted at a collaboration with the award-winning artist in the run-up to AEW’s recent All In: London 2024 pay-per-view.

Megan Thee Stallion In Wrestling

SmackDown’s new theme song marks Megan Thee Stallion’s official arrival in the world of wrestling, but she has teased involvement in the past. In March of this year, ex-WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley claimed that WWE had planned for Moné (Sasha Banks at the time) to face Megan at a SummerSlam PLE but that never occurred.

Following her song becoming the official theme of SmackDown, Megan teased making her official debut for the promotion. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on Megan Thee Stallion’s possible involvement with WWE now her song will be heard every Friday night.

Jey Uso Teases ‘More Surprises’ For Bloodline Story

0

Jey Uso has teased that The Bloodline story may be going in a different direction than fans are expecting after the return of Roman Reigns to WWE programming.

Solo Sikoa has taken over the role of The Tribal Chief after Reigns’ WrestleMania 40 loss to Cody Rhodes. He has since introduced a number of new members of the esteemed Anoa’i family to WWE programming.

Fans have been expecting to see Roman reuniting the old Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn to take on this new threat after his return at SummerSlam.

Jey Uso was asked about the progression of the story and where he fits into it during an interview with Metro. He claimed that he doesn’t know what the plans are:

“I’m looking forward to the Bloodline storyline as much as you all are, because I’ll be honest, I don’t know what we’re going to do, I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

We Have Other Family Members: Jey Uso

Defying the expectations, Roman Reigns so far has made no attempts to reconcile with his old partners. He has instead found an unlikely ally in Cody Rhodes for the Bad Blood match against Solo and Jacob Fatu.

In the wake of the Survivor Series: WarGames event set for November 30; many are expecting to see him back on screen with his former allies soon.

The Yeet Man however is not sure if it will be natural for him to go back in light of the progression he has made as a singles star. He instead believes that the Original Tribal Chief could find the help he needs from other members of the family:

“I don’t know how we how they’re going to intertwine me back in there… Sami would be my first pick, right? It only makes sense. Hey, we might have other family members, more surprises, man!”

Roman Reigns leading a completely new group of Anoa’i family members is certainly a proposition that fits with the booking philosophy of focusing on new stars that WWE has adapted since Triple H took over as a booker.

There is no shortage of potential soldiers he can find in his family and names such as Zilla Fatu and Thamiko Fatu have already captured people’s eyes as potential future stars for the promotion.

AEW-WBD TV Deal Reported To Be In ‘Ballpark of $170 Million’

0

AEW’s new TV deals are expected to be announced any day now and if latest reported numbers are to be believed, it will mark a clear success for the company.

John Ourand of Puck News recently provided some inside information on the negotiations between the wrestling company and its TV partners, once again noting that the package is close to being finalized.

According to him, it’s expected to be a four-year deal with three guaranteed years and WBD having the option to extend the contract by another year. The number of $170 million a year that’s been floated is ‘apparently in the ballpark’ according to Ourand.

The deal with see AEW shows airing on TNT, TBS, and TruTV twice a week. It’s part of a strategy from WBD CEO David Zaslav to make the latter two networks more valuable and sport-oriented. This comes after WBD lost the NBA media rights bid to Amazon.

The report makes no mention of the highly anticipated Max streaming deal but they note that AEW is also pitching another separate package to broadcast channels. Though there is no timetable for when the company will start pushing that deal.

This is in reference to the company trademarking ‘AEW: Shockwave’ for a new entertainment show which is rumored to be airing on Fox after SmackDown left the network to return to USA.

The current AEW TV deals are believed to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $70 million per year so if true, the new numbers would be a huge success for Tony Khan’s promotion.

QR Code On (9/16) WWE Raw: When You Need Us, We Will Be There

0

Ahead of the debut of the Wyatt Sicks, a series of QR codes appeared on WWE programming, teasing the group’s arrival. On this week’s Raw, a QR code was spotted which may have given an indication as to the group’s future on the red brand.

Scanning the QR code takes fans to a website filled with diary entries from Uncle Howdy. The latest entry, titled ‘Frater’ (Latin for brother) has the following message.

The bond of a family is a cat of nine tails. Bound through suffering. We see you, brother. When you need us, we will be there.

This website first appeared in June of this year and had fans trying to decipher its cryptic messages. One entry titled SHE has led fans to believe that another woman will be added to the faction, possibly Alexa Bliss, though that hasn’t happened yet.

The website has the word ‘Kintsugi’ as its heading, which refers to the Japanese art of using gold to repair a broken bowl. The idea is that something is more beautiful because it is broken. Clicking on the word takes fans to an image of hand-drawn pictures, including trees, an eerie face, and the red circle.

Clicking on the mute button on the website brings up the following image, which has the code L 10: 25 37. In the Gospel according to Luke, this passage tells the story of the Good Samaritan.

The name of this file also gives a tease of what may to be come in the future of The Wyatt Sicks. This image is titled ‘arbun’ which is an anagram of Braun. Braun Strowman was introduced on WWE TV as part of the Wyatt Family in 2020 but rejected an offer to return to Wyatt’s side in 2020. After the group debuted, Strowman said he feels the pull of the faction, but has so far kept his distance from the group on TV.

The Wyatt Sicks has been a force to be reckoned with so far, and now the group has vowed to ‘be there’ when ‘you’ need them. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on the Wyatt Sicks as they continue to tease what’s to come.

Photos of Randy Orton and Wife Kim’s Romantic Belize Getaway

Randy Orton is known as one of the most cold and calculated competitors in WWE history, but his wife Kim is giving us a look at a different side of him.

Kim Orton took to Instagram (@Kim.orton01) on Monday to share glimpses of their romantic tropical vacation in Belize. The series of photos include the caption, “Getting some much needed alone time with my love @randyorton #vacation #Belize” and show a side of “The Viper” that many WWE fans haven’t seen. The 15-time world champ has committed heinous acts over the past 22 years. However, these vacation snapshots provide a refreshing contrast, offering a unique look at his life outside the squared circle.

The photos shared by Kim Orton show the couple standing in front of a helicopter, smiling and enjoying a scenic helicopter ride. One particularly sweet moment features a bed decorated with leaves spelling out “RKO” and “KIM,” adding a romantic touch to their getaway.

Orton was in action this past week on WWE SmackDown, appearing as Kevin Owens’ mystery partner against A-Town Down Under.

Regarding retirement, Randy Orton has not specified an exact timeline for when he plans to hang it up. However, he has indicated in various interviews that he hopes to continue wrestling as long as he’s physically able.

Watch below to learn how Randy Orton met his wife Kim:

Logan Paul, MrBeast, and KSI Launch ‘Lunchly’ to Rival Lunchables

0

Some WWE fans love him and some loathe him, but Logan Paul has proven himself to be a serial entrepreneur, with a series of business projects to the Maverick’s name. Now, Paul and his PRIME Hydration co-founder KSI are teaming up with YouTuber Mr. Beast to launch Lunchly, a new brand lunches for children.

‘Lunchly’ products will include PRIME Hydration as well as sweet treats from Feastables, Mr. Beast’s brand of candy. The first batch of Lunches items will include Pizza, Fiesta Nachos, and Turkey Stack ‘Ems.

The product is aimed as a direct competitor to Lunchables, with the Lunchly website featuring an entire “Us vs Them” section. The shade is palpable as Lunchly runs down how they stack up against the ‘leading brand’ –

  • Flavorful Combos: Lunchly offers more flavorful combos, while the leading brand sticks to standard picks.
  • Electrolytes: Each Lunchly pack contains 400 mg of electrolytes compared to only 55 mg in the comparable product from the leading brand.
  • Packaging: Lunchly uses bold packaging, whereas the leading brand has basic packaging.
  • Gestures: Lunchly provides “big gestures,” while the leading brand offers only “mid moments.”

The collaboration of Paul, KSI, and Mr. Beast brings together three of the most popular, and marketable content creators currently working online. The pair collectively have 362 million YouTube subscribers, and over 100 million followers on Instagram, with Mr. Beast making up the majority in both metrics.

Paul has already been able to secure PRIME Hydration as the official beverage sponsor of WWE events, and fans can expect the longest-reigning U.S. Champion of the past decade to do plenty to make Lunchly a viral success.

Trish Stratus and Lita Tease Big Plans for 20th Anniversary of Iconic Raw Match

0

On the December 6, 2004, edition of WWE Raw, Trish Stratus and Lita competed for the Women’s Championship in a match unlike any women’s match before then. Not only did the pair headline the show, a fact many men on the roster took issue with, but the two women were given ample time to show off their skills in the ring.

The match, which saw Lita win the gold, came at a time when women’s wrestling in WWE was nowhere close to being treated as seriously as its male counterpart. Nevertheless, the match is regarded as one of WWE’s best women’s matches and secured the #55 spot on WWE’s Top 100 Moments In Raw History DVD. In hindsight, it should have been ranked a lot higher than that.

This December will mark 20 years since the iconic match, a fact not lost on Trish Stratus or Lita. Appearing together at Comic Con Northern Ireland over the weekend, Stratus teased something big to mark the anniversary.

“We are definitely coming up on the 20th anniversary of a certain match. Can anyone remember what it is? It’s our main event match, and it’s still talked about to this day.

So, we want to do something special and really reflect on its importance and how it helped us get to where we are today. That’s our goal—we’re masterminding something right now. Look for something special from Team Bestie to celebrate this very momentous occasion.”

Paving the Road

Nearly two decades ago, the idea of women headlining WWE events was unimaginable. However, trailblazers like Trish Stratus and Lita shattered this glass ceiling and paved the way for future generations of female wrestlers:

October 2016: Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks made history as the first women’s match to headline a WWE pay-per-view, and it took place inside Hell in a Cell of all places.

October 2018: The all-women’s pay-per-view, Evolution, closed with Ronda Rousey defending the Raw Women’s Championship against Nikki Bella.

April 2019: Less than a later, history was made once again at WrestleMania 35 when Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch headlined the event in a triple threat match, with Lynch closing the show raising both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on whatever Trish Stratus and Lita have cooking for the 20th Anniversary of their iconic WWE Raw main event.

Lita Believes Time Has Come For Gender Neutral Wrestling Championships

0

WWE Hall of Famer Lita believes women’s wrestling has progressed enough where we can retire gender-specific championships and have titles which represent everyone.

The Attitude Era star was joined by fellow women’s wrestling legend Trish Stratus for a panel at the Northern Ireland Comic-Con by Monopoly Events.

During the session, the duo was asked what changes they would make to the women’s division if they were booking it. Trish Stratus mentioned how the quality of wrestling among female competitors has improved significantly in the last few years but she explained that it has come at the cost of character work:

“I think I would like to have a little bit more focus on characters, right? I feel like, for sure, now there’s way more opportunities for women. Obviously, we see them main eventing all the time, and we see them in high-profile matches. But I think what we had back in the day was a lot more character stuff.

You got to know these characters, and the fans could really resonate with the character a little bit more. Now they’re just kind of having these great matches, but there’s no backstory as much as there was back in the day. So, I think character development would be one thing I’d like to focus on.”

Lita Wants To See More Intergender Interactions

Lita then chimed in talking about how women are getting more representation on shows now. The thing she would change, however, is increase the interaction between male and female competitors. The former champion even suggested the idea of gender-neutral titles to achieve this:

“What I would love to see is more interplay between the genders and have those lines be blurred further, where titles don’t have to be men’s or women’s titles, just titles, and whoever manages to get somebody’s shoulders down for three seconds is the champion, or whoever taps somebody out is the champion for that night.”

WWE has played with the idea of intergender wrestling on occasion but never fully committed to it. Chyna winning the Intercontinental Championship was the biggest example of it. She defended the championship against many male competitors during her run. The title went back to being exclusive to the men’s division afterward.

In more recent years we have seen Beth Pheonix wrestling Santino Marella and the brief interaction between Dean Ambrose and Nia Jax before the former left the company.

The storyline between Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley is the closest we have come to seeing intergender wrestling matches under Triple H. It’s possible that this story may lead to a revision of the past somewhere down the line.

RVD Praises WWE’s ‘Refreshing’ New Vibe After SmackDown Visit

0

Rob Van Dam had a busy Friday as the WWE Hall Of Famer made his return to SmackDown, and Mr. Monday Night noticed a very different vibe to Triple H’s new regime.

RVD and his wife Katie Forbes were invited as guests for the first SmackDown on USA Network. The power couple were seen sitting ringside for Kevin Owens & Randy Orton vs. Austin Theory & Grayson Waller and Van Dam was impressed with what he saw.

Speaking to me on a yet-to-be-released episode of his ‘1 Of A Kind With RVD’ podcast, the Hall of Famer shared his view of how different WWE is these days, both in the ring and backstage in the locker room.

“It was in a way that’s refreshing to make me realize how out of touch with the product I am because I didn’t realize that a lot of the things people have been telling me are in effect.”

Rob says in just watching the one match in some ways WWE seems to be aiming at bringing the wrestling product back to more storytelling and simplifying the exhibition of the in-ring action. Van Dam also loved the new SmackDown logo.

“I love creative s*** like that.”

Backstage Interactions With Triple H & The Modern Roster

Rob Van Dam had a brief interaction with Kevin Owens backstage after his match with a fist bump, hung with Booker T, Ron Simmons and Teddy Long in the legends dressing room. He also did some interviews on behalf of WWE for future projects. He also did get to chat with Triple H.

“He was really cool, in a good mood and I got good vibes off him as well.”

Van Dam did hear Triple H talk during a meeting about how the touring schedule would change and it reminded him of how daunting the old WWE schedule used to be.

A lot of the modern roster approached him to thank him for being there and saying how they enjoy his podcast too. RVD noted even a talent appreciated the knowledge they get from listening to Mr. Monday Night.

“Just getting feedback from social media or whatever, not only is it toxic, but it’s also deceiving because they were there to have fun. It was so obvious, again I’m gonna use the word refreshing, it was so refreshing.”

RVD said the fans were completely along for the ride and that was a big strong takeaway from the crowd.

“I get it, it’s a very fun vibe.”

Rob also made mention that he found entire WWE dressing room to be positive. No one was tired or exhausted as he remembered when he was full time and everyone looked very happy to be involved in the growth of the company.

New episodes of “1 Of A Kind With RVD” releases every Monday at 4:20 PM ET. Please h/t to SEScoops for the transcription.
