Logan Paul Fires Back At Kevin Nash: “I’m Better Than You Ever Were”

0

Logan Paul’s involvement in WWE has been a topic of debate ever since the Maverick’s arrival in 2021. While some believe Paul brings a natural heel charisma and eyes to the product, many others believe the controversial content creator is taking away spots that could benefit full-time talent.

This week, Kevin Nash shared his two cents on Paul and didn’t hold back with his thoughts on the former U.S. Champion. On his Kliq This podcast, Nash recalled Paul admitting to Hulk Hogan on his ImPaulsive show that he did not know what ‘Shoot’ meant.

“He’s not one of the boys. Where would he learn that s*** at? Where’s he f***** going up and down the road, f****** talking about our f****** jargon?… That motherf*****, from what I heard he’s making 5 million bucks for a limited f****** [dates], and those other motherf******s are out there making house shows, f*** you. That’s from the boys.”

On Twitter, Paul responded, first by questioning who Kevin Nash is and admittedly that he’s “not as versed in the WWE and wrestling as I should be.” Paul, who considers himself one of the top five in WWE already, imagined what he’d be like if he dedicated more time to WWE and became one of the ‘boys.’ Paul’s harshest comments were saved for the very end and directly aimed at the two-time WWE Hall of Famer.

“F*** me? F*** you. You’re one of the old guys who is bitter that I am better at your job than you ever were. That makes you pathetic. This will be my sport and I will continue to make guys like you eat your words when I devote a little bit of time to it. F*** me? F*** you.”

Paul’s role in wrestling has always been a source of contention for many, but after re-signing with WWE in January of this year, fans can expect to see more of him in WWE. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Logan Paul and his time as a part-time WWE talent.

Watch: Bret Hart and Triple H Reunite At WWE Raw in Calgary

0

WWE’s September 9 episode of Monday Night RAW emanated from Calgary, Alberta, so it was only fitting that Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart made a rare appearance. Not only did the two-time WWE Hall of Famer have a segment in the ring, but the Canadian also had a special moment backstage with Triple H.

Hart’s entrance was met with a thunderous ovation from the passionate Calgary audience and he spoke of representing Canaidan Wrestling. His segment was swiftly interrupted by World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER who proclaimed that Bill Goldberg is his favorite wrestler, an individual Bret has had issues with for decades. Sami Zayn would appear shortly after, once again making his claim to a title match against the man he beat at WrestleMania 40.

Following the segment, Triple H shared a heartfelt backstage moment with Hart. The Game praised Hart for the reaction he got from the Canadian crowd while Bret shared his gratitude for being a part of the show.

Bret’s appearance on WWE Raw was a treat for wrestling fans, and the promotion will return to Canada later this year. WWE Survivor Series 2024 will take place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, on November 30, marking the third time the show has come to the Great White North.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Bret Hart as well as WWE’s impending return to Canada later this year for the 38th annual Survivor Series Premium Live Event.

Hell in a Cell and 2 More Matches Added to WWE Bad Blood

0

On October 5, WWE will host its first Bad Blood PLE in over 20 years from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Surprises have been teased for the show, and on this week’s RAW, the card for the highly-anticipated event started coming together.

Hell in a Cell: CM Punk Vs. Drew McIntyre

The feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre has been one of the hottest angles of 2024 and will come to a head at WWE Bad Blood. Not only will the pair settle the score in a rubber match, but it will be contested inside Hell in a Cell. The iconic structure has been used at all WWE Bad Blood PLEs so far and that tradition will continue on October 5.

Rhea Ripley Vs. Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan has been at odds with Rhea Ripley ever since Mami’s return to WWE programming from her injury in July of this year. After trading victories at WWE SummerSlam and WWE Bash in Berlin, the two will face off at Bad Blood with Morgan’s Women’s World Championship on the line.

Damian Priest Vs. Finn Balor

At WWE SummerSlam, Damian Priest (alongside Rhea Ripley) was betrayed by The Judgment Day, as Finn Balor aided GUNTHER against the Archer of Infamy. On this week’s Raw, Balor challenged Priest to a match at WWE Bad Blood which the former World Champion was quick to accept.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from WWE Bad Blood including breaking news and live results from WWE’s next Premium Live Event.

CM Punk Set to Return to WWE Raw Following Attack by Drew McIntyre

0

CM Punk is set to make his WWE Raw return on September 16 in Portland, Oregon, just two weeks after being viciously attacked by Drew McIntyre. This announcement was made during this week’s WWE Raw “season premiere” from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

During the show, WWE official Adam Pearce provided an update, stating that he had spoken with Punk, who confirmed he’s far from finished. Punk’s return on Raw will serve as the lead-up to his third match against McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood 2024, where the two will face off inside Hell in a Cell.

This will be the final bout in their trilogy. The rivalry between Punk and McIntyre has been intense, with each competitor holding one victory. McIntyre claimed the first win at SummerSlam, while Punk evened the score at Payback. The Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood promises to be the decisive battle.

In addition to Punk’s return, the September 16 episode of Raw will also feature a WWE Tag Team Championship match. The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are set to challenge The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.

With Punk’s comeback and these high-stakes matches, next week’s Raw is set to be a can’t-miss event as WWE heads toward Bad Blood 2024.

WWE Raw Returning to Two-Hour Format Starting October 7

0

WWE Raw is set to revert to a two-hour format starting Monday, October 7, 2024, bringing the show’s runtime back in line with its Attitude Era days. This change, announced during this week’s “season premiere” episode will continue through December 30, 2024, marking the final episode of Raw on cable after a 32-year run. Beginning January 6, 2024, WWE Raw will officially move to Netflix.

This marks a significant shift for WWE’s flagship program, which has aired for three hours for over a decade. The extended runtime has been a point of contention among fans, with many arguing that the show’s quality has suffered due to its length.

WWE has benefited financially from the additional ad revenue, but critics have pointed out that the longer format often led to pacing issues and filler segments. In contrast, SmackDown has maintained a tighter, two-hour format, even during its successful run on Fox.

Speaking of SmackDown, the blue brand is set to debut on USA Network this Friday after concluding its contract with Fox. WWE has loaded the card for the occasion, featuring a WWE Undisputed Championship steel cage match where Solo Sikoa will challenge Cody Rhodes for the title.

Kiana James Update Amid WWE Hiatus

0

During the 2024 WWE Draft, several names were selected from WWE NXT to move to the main roster. While some draftees have already done big things on the main roster, one Superstar has now been pulled from the company’s active roster. Kiana James has been moved from the internal active roster to the ‘misc’ roster, Pwinsider reports. This roster typically includes talents out due to long-term injuries, such as Big E, or those who only make rare appearances.

James was the final pick of the televised portion of Night One of the Draft and moved from WWE NXT to Monday Night Raw. Since then though, James has only competed twice on the red brand, with her most recent match being a Money in the Bank qualifier loss on the June 17, edition of Raw. She had also been involved in a storyline as an assistant to RAW General Manager Adam Pearce, but that angle quickly fizzled out.

James is the latest name to be removed from WWE’s active roster, and she’ll likely be hoping to avoid a similar fate to her predecessors. MVP was reportedly removed from the internal roster in July of this year, and he has since left the promotion. Last week, Odyssey Jones’ push came to an abrupt end and he was removed from WWE’s roster on the website, and it’s been reported that he has been cut from the company.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Kiana James and her future as a WWE Superstar after reportedly being removed from the active roster.

JoJo Offerman Hopeful For Potential WWE Return As A Manager

0

From 2013 to 2021, JoJo Offerman was part of WWE, first as a part of Total Divas, and later competed in a handful of matches. After working as a ring announcer, she quietly left in 2021, but fans could see her on WWE programming in the future.

Speaking to Southern Wrestling Autographs, JoJo shared that the idea of a WWE return is “always in the back of my mind” and that she misses the ‘family’ she made there. While best known for her work as an announcer, JoJo said she’s eager to step into a managerial role.

“I would love that! There’s no one in particular that I can think of right now [to manage.] I would love to say Wyatt Sicks, but at the same time, I feel like that’d be a lot, and they have so much going on, I wouldn’t want to disturb that.”

– JoJo Offerman

Though she’s yet to be publicly associated with The Wyatt Sicks, JoJo has an obvious connection to the group, as she was engaged to Windham ‘Bray Wyatt’ Rotunda. After his passing in August 2023, WWE revealed that proceeds from Wyatt-related merchandise would benefit JoJo and Rotunda’s four children. In June of this year, JoJo shared details of a ‘visit’ from Rotunda that had a profound effect on her.

Offerman hasn’t appeared for WWE in years, but maintains a loyal fanbase who can follow her life on social media. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on JoJo Offerman and her potential return to the world of WWE.

Cody Rhodes Set To Compete In Bull Rope Match At Upcoming WWE Event In UK

0

A Bull Rope match featuring current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has been announced for an upcoming UK Event.

The company announced the return of the classic stipulation on its website early on Monday morning. The match will be taking place at the upcoming live event from Co-op Live Arena in Manchester on Wednesday, October 16. The American Nightmare will defend his title against Solo Sikoa at the show.

Other matches currently advertised for the event include Gunther vs. Jey Uso for the World Title and Nia Jax vs. Bayley for the Women’s Championship. Apart from this, names such as LA Knight, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bianca Belair, and Jade Cargill are also listed for the event.

Bull Rope Match

A Bull Rope match sees two opponents being bound by a 14-foot bull rope and a cowbell. The attachments are considered legal during the contest and the first person to score a pinfall or submission wins the match,

This won’t be the first Bull Rope match Cody Rhodes competes in during his WWE career. He previously defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in a match of the same stipulation during the February 5, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw.

Cody’s dad Dusty Rhodes was part of many classic encounters under the stipulation and he played a crucial part in making it popular.

He defeated the likes of Gary Hart and Terry Funk while competing under the same stipulation in the 70s. Dusty’s match with ‘Superstar’ Billy Graham during a 1977 Madison Square Garden event was one of the very early instances of the bout. It helped establish it as a serious stipulation.

The late Hall of Famer’s final wrestling match was actually a Bull Rope match. The bout where Randy Orton defeated the wrestling legend took place during the 2007 Great American Bash event. Cody Rhodes made the save for his father after this bout.

Swerve Strickland Responds To Negative Reactions of Brutal All Out Match

0

Swerve Strickland has noticed and responded to the discourse going around his unsanctioned cage match with Hangman Page at AEW All Out.

The horrifying new chapter in the feud between the two arch-rivals featured unprecedented violence that made a lot of people uncomfortable. More than 24 hours after the bout, the discussion around it is still going strong. The former AEW Champion has noticed the debate, especially the questions around whether or not such extreme brutality was necessary for the bout.

Swerve responded to it with a tweet mentioning that this is what fans should have expected from a bout that was unsanctioned.

AEW’s Unsanctioned Matches

Labeling a match as unsanctioned is AEW’s way of telling fans to get ready for a true fight instead of a pro wrestling contest.

The first of its kind match took place at Full Gear 2019 between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley, though at the time it was dubbed as a ‘Lights out’ match. The ending of that bout saw Mox exposing the wooden panel under the ring mat and delivering a Paradigm Shift on it for the win.

The first official unsanctioned match took place between Adam Cole and Chris Jericho at Double or Nothing 2023. The bout ended via referee stoppage when Cole wrapped a chain around his knee to deliver his finisher and continued beating Jericho afterward.

The match between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page topped both these bouts with weapons such as a cinderblock and a syringe being used during the memorable encounter.

This fight ended after Hangman delivered a brutal chair shot to Strickland on the head. You can check out a report about what’s next for Swerve after the PPV here.

Dave Bautista Sets Sights On DC Comics Role In James Gunn Film Universe

0

After a successful career in pro wrestling, Dave Bautista has become a leading name in Hollywood with huge franchises tied to his name. While best known for his role as Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, WWE’s resident ‘Animal’ is more than willing to jump into the world of DC Comics.

In a recent interview with ComicBook, Bautista discussed his openness to appearing in DCU films, especially under the direction of James Gunn. The Guardians of the Galaxy director, alongside producer Peter Safran, was named co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studios in October 2022.

“I’ve been very open to that. I guess it just has to be the right part. But I’m very open to it, and I love James, and I would do anything to work with him.”

Though Bautista plans on being in a DC Comics film one day, fans shouldn’t expect him back in the ring. In a recent interview with Insight, Bautista said he wouldn’t want to tarnish his 2019 send-off at WrestleMania 35, despite missing the roar of the WWE Universe.

Bautista Wants To Play Bane

In 2023, Bautista shared interest in playing Bane, one of the most iconic villains from Batman’s ‘Rogues Gallery.’ The Animal shared that he had spoken with Gunn but believes his friend plans on taking DC Comics’ film universe in a younger, fresher direction. Bautista has also slimmed down considerably in recent years, which would affect his ability to bring the intelligent, muscle-bound Bane to the big screen.

The character was played by WCW wrestler Robert Swenson played Bane in the 1997 flop Batman and Robin, while Tom Hardy did the character more justice in 2012’s Dark Knight Rises. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on Dave Bautista and his upcoming moves in the world of Hollywood acting.

Aryna Sabalenka Gifted Custom WWE Championship After U.S. Open Victory

0

This past weekend, Aryna Sabalenka won the U.S. Open for women’s singles tennis, defeating Jessica Pegula in an emotional final in New York City. Now, the 26-year-old Belarussian is celebrating in style after being gifted a custom WWE Championship.

Sabalenka was presented with the championship backstage at Arthur Ashe Stadium following her victory. Sabalenka said that the title, which is based off of SmackDown’s Women’s Championship is “so cool” and it’s “crazy” that she now has the gold.

Sabalenko’s victory in the U.S. Open and her subsequent WWE Women’s Championship are just the latest accolades for the tennis prodigy. She has also won the Australian Open twice, capturing the top spot in 2023 and 2024, and has also won the U.S. and Australian Opens in doubles action.

Custom Championships

WWE has given out numerous custom belts to winning sports teams and athletes in recent years, including the Kansas City Chiefs after their Super Bowl victory in 2023. WWE has also created legacy championships celebrating teams in the NFL, NHL, and the NBA, among others.

After winning the Australian Open men’s doubles last year, Tennis stars Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis (known affectionately as the Special Ks) were awarded a title with custom side plates. Now, Sabalenka is the latest tennis star with a WWE Championship, and if she keeps her winning ways going on the court, this may not be her last title from the Sports Entertainment juggernaut.

Latest On Reports Of A Backstage Incident At AEW All Out 2024

0

AEW All Out 2024 was another huge night for Tony Khan’s promotion, with a shocking heel turn, title matches, and a violent main event. A reported incident backstage has recently drummed up speculation of more trouble within the company and we now have an update about what happened inside the NOW Arena.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez confirmed that “security dudes just started sprinting” before the AEW World Title match between Bryan Danielson and Jack Perry.

What happened was apparently there was some incident with one of the wrestlers that wasn’t on this show, they were shooting something backstage, and this wrestler and a production guy got into a big thing. Some people are saying it was absolutely nothing but it was big enough that security sprinted backstage.

Alvarez adds that the two sides “talked it out and everything ended up okay.” The security personnel would return to their posts in time for the pay-per-view main event between Swerve Strickland and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page.

With the wrestler involved in this alleged incident not being part of the AEW All Out card, that rules out several notable names including The Young Bucks who were suspended in 2022 for their role in ‘Brawl Out.’ On Twitter, Tay Melo stated that her husband Sammy Guevara, who was not booked for All Out 2024, did not have an incident backstage.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on AEW and the fallout from the promotion’s latest pay-per-view.

AEW’s Rebel Reveals Health Setback After Lung Mass Scare

0

All Elite Wrestling’s Rebel was once a regular on the company’s programming thanks to her partnership with Britt Baker, but hasn’t competed for the promotion since August of 2022. Rebel suffered a dislocated knee in June 2021 that kept her out for three months, and she’s now shared the recent issue that has kept her from the ring.

On Instagram, Rebel shared a series of photos of her time spent in hospital. The 45-year-old wrestler shared that she has been battling pneumonia but is feeling better every single day.

“Next year, expect a very fit birthday bikini pic ? ?
This year has not been what I expected. I’ve kept this private until now bc I believe I’m on the up. Thank you to the very few who knew what was going on and kept it private. And for those who didn’t know, I’ll spare you the details but in short, I was hospitalized in May for a good while bc they found a mass in my lung that they couldn’t figure out what it was, turns out it’s pneumonia. A couple of ct scans found some other minor issues that I am taking care of. I feel better every day, now that I am getting a handle on these things. cheers to another trip around the sun ??”

Rebel’s post received countless well-wishes from fans as well as those in the wrestling business. Jade Cargill, Kevin Nash, Alicia Taylor, Tay Melo, Cezar Bononi, Rosa Mendes, Kilynn King, Gail Kim, and ODB were among some of the stars who sent their best to Rebel.

Rebel Outside of AEW

Despite being hired as a hair and makeup stylist, Rebel joined AEW with an established history in the ring. Rebel debuted in Impact Wrestling in 2013 as part of The Menagerie, and would later begin training at Ohio Valley Wrestling.

In 2016, Rebel would capture the OVW Women’s Championship, and would wrestle for Stardom the following year. Three years later, Rebel made an appearance on the January 23, 2019, episode of NXT, and teamed with Amber Nova in a losing effort to KAIRI and IYO SKY.

We at SEScoops are sending our very best to Rebel amid her recovery.

Dave Bautista Roasts Struggling Teams In NFL Sunday Skit

0

Since exiting WWE, Dave Bautista has made a name for himself as a huge name in Hollywood with roles in franchises like James Bond and the MCU. Now, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has taken on a new role as part of Fox’s NFL Sunday pre-game show.

In the skit, Bautista humorously pitched the NFL Patch as the solution to any team’s shortcomings, whether it’s replacing quarterbacks, filling roster gaps with veteran players, or even throwing in a bag of money.

Speaking about the Carolina Panthers, widely regarded as one of the NFL’s struggling teams this season, he quipped, “You need much more than the NFL Patch to fix that disaster.” Bautista also had a playful dig at the Dallas Cowboys, showing mild indifference toward the team’s decision to re-sign Ezekiel Elliott, commenting that he was “meh” on whether bringing the former star running-back back was a significant move.

While Bautista may no longer be an active presence in WWE, his ability to entertain audiences remains as strong as ever. The Animal recently shared that he still hopes to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and despite missing the fans, knows he’ll never wrestle again. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on the WWE Superstar turned acting powerhouse.

News On Swerve Strickland’s Immediate Future After Brutal All Out 2024 Match

0

It might be a while before we see Swerve Strickland back on AEW TV after his brutal match with Hangman Adam Page at last night’s All Out PPV.

The former AEW Champion confirmed the signing of his new contract before All In 2024 event a couple weeks ago. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, the new deal factored some much-deserved time off for the 33-year-old, and the closing to last night’s event was a way to write him off for it:

“I heard a long time ago that Swerve was going to sign the contract and get some time off, and this was the angle.”

Swerve Strickland vs. Adam Page

Strickland and Page wrote another horrifying chapter of their rivalry during the lights out unsanctioned cage match that main evented the latest AEW PPV.

Both men were in no mood to show any mercy after the highly praised closing angle of Wednesday’s Dynamite that saw Page burning down the childhood home of his arch-rival.

The competitors topped their previous encounter with this extreme bout which started with Strickland attacking Hangman even before the bell had rung. The duo then used unconventional weapons such as a staple gun and a cinderblock to brutalize each other.

The ending of this fight saw Page sticking a needle into his opponent’s cheek and hitting him in the head with a brutal chair shot. The referee had to call for the bell after this because Swerve was in no condition to continue the bout.

It makes sense for Strickland to be off TV for a while after this ending. One thing is for sure however, that the rivalry between these two is far from over and Page will have a lot to worry about when the former champion does return from his absence.

Rumor Killer On Alleged Backstage Incident At AEW All Out 2024

During AEW’s All Out 2024 event at the NOW Arena, a fan’s social media post sparked speculation about a possible backstage altercation after they witnessed security rushing backstage. This quickly led to rumors circulating online that a confrontation may have occurred during the pay-per-view.

im at the show and somthing for sure just happend backstage alll the security just sprinted back stage full speed during the last match and havent came back

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful addressed these rumors, responding to the fan’s now-deleted tweet by confirming that he had heard reports of security being called to the backstage area. However, Fightful Select later clarified that no actual incident had been reported, and by the end of the night, security had returned to their positions at ringside without any further disruptions.

In a tweet of her own, Tay Melo made clear that her husband Sammy Guevara had not been a part of any incident at the NOW Arena. Guevara was attacked backstage by Andrade El Idolo in 2022 though Andrade was not fired for his actions.

AEW fans will be relieved to learn that rumors of a backstage altercation have been greatly exaggerated. It was at All Out 2022 that a backstage fight resulted in CM Punk, the Elite, and others being suspended. Punk would get into a second altercation less than a year later, resulting in his termination from AEW.

Despite the brief speculation surrounding the backstage activity, All Out 2024 was another memorable night for AEW. The event featured a thrilling main event between Swerve Strickland and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, capping off a night full of exciting action. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on AEW and the fallout from the promotion’s latest pay-per-view.
