Mercedes Moné is heading back to Bar Rescue. Paramount Network announced on Wednesday that the AEW star will appear as a special celebrity guest on the milestone tenth season of the reality series, which premieres Sunday, February 22 at 10 PM ET/PT with two back-to-back episodes.
An official press release from Paramount identifies Moné by her real name, Mercedes Varnado, describing her as a "pro wrestler and actress." She will join host Jon Taffer in the field alongside fellow celebrity guest Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC as the veteran bar expert travels to cities across Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky to rescue struggling establishments.
Moné's Second Appearance on the Series
This marks Moné's second stint on the long-running unscripted franchise. She and Trinity Fatu (formerly Naomi) previously appeared on Season 8 of Bar Rescue when the series returned with new episodes on February 26, 2023. That appearance came during a period when both women were away from WWE following their joint walkout in May 2022.
AEW stars Adam Cole and Britt Baker also previously appeared on the show, making pro wrestling a recurring presence in the Bar Rescue universe.
Staying Busy During AEW Hiatus
The Bar Rescue announcement comes as Moné remains on an indefinite hiatus from AEW programming. She announced her break during a pre-taped segment on the January 10 episode of AEW Collision, expressing frustration after losing the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale at Dynamite: New Year's Smash. That loss ended her record-setting 584-day reign with the title.
Despite stepping away from AEW television, Moné has shown no signs of slowing down. She was recently announced for Banger Zone Wrestling's Apogée event on March 14 in Dreux, France, and Winnipeg Pro Wrestling is teasing her for their March 31 show (update: she’s confirmed).
The C.E.O. of AEW also still holds multiple championships, including the CMLL Women's Championship and several independent titles.
Bar Rescue Season 10 premieres Sunday, February 22 at 10 PM ET/PT on Paramount Network. Past episodes are available to stream on Paramount+.
