Cody Rhodes wants celebrity wrestlers to stop messing with him.
During Thursday’s appearance on the Tonight Show, the QB1 was asked about Tom Brady teasing a run with WWE on his podcast. While replying to it, Cody Rhodes sent a warning to any celebrity who wants to cross over into wrestling, saying that they can mess with other people instead of just him:
Here’s my warning. Tom doesn’t need a warning; he’s a super athlete. But a lot of the celebrities and people who wanna cross into wrestling, we do some sort of merging of worlds. I feel like they always get involved in my stuff. You know?
Like…Travis Scott, Pat McAfee. They always, they get right in on what I’m doing. If you come in, you don’t…you can pick other people to mess with. You can. And also, you know, not everyone has to fully wrestle.
Not Everyone Has To: Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes then also explained that not everyone has to go the same route as Bad Bunny or Jelly Roll and wrestle full matches. He mentioned that someone like Jimmy Fallon can just do a spot with him and still get the reaction:
You know, you come to the show. Prime example. I hook old Cookie Monster Punk. Right now, he is the best in the world. He’s the WWE champion.
But I hook his arms like this, I turn to you, you just give him a nice open chop right on the chest. The place reacts, they clap, and that’s all. You get the Hall of Fame run after that. Not everyone has to be a full-blown….they don’t have to do the full thing. Let me do that.
The American Nightmare will be challenging CM Punk for the WWE Championship at the SummerSlam PPV from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
