A top AEW veteran who has been out of action due to injury for a long time was present backstage at Dynamite.
He is none other than the former TNT Champion, Dustin Rhodes. The Natural took to his X to drop a photo with Rebel backstage at tonight’s Rebel Heart Dynamite show and wrote a heartfelt message for her. He said:
I love you so much @RebelTanea. You are a gift from God and truly one of my closest friends!!!! #ALS #RebelHeart
@AEW.
Dustin Rhodes has been out of action since mid-last year. After he dropped the TNT title to Kyle Fletcher in a Street Fight on Collision, he underwent double knee replacement surgery. Since then, Rhodes has been off television and working hard to recover.
Meanwhile, Rebel returned to AEW after nearly four years on tonight’s show dedicated to her, as she is currently battling ALS. The AEW star appeared in the opening segment and then came down to the ring in her electric wheelchair to assist Britt Baker to victory in her trios match.
The special episode also aimed to raise awareness of ALS, with AEW President Tony Khan donating $140,000 to I Am ALS for ALS research.
