Jeff Hardy is one of the most popular WWE Superstars of this century, but was he as famous as the President of the United States? The legendary high-flyer looks back at one of the hottest stretches of his career with a good sense of humor.
Speaking on WWE Radio’s Busted Open this week , the reigning TNA World Tag Team Champion addressed his critics by revisiting a WWE storyline built around his popularity years ago.
I think they’re [his critics] from Jupiter, I’m pretty sure. I’m pretty sure. They certainly may not exist here on Earth, and I mean, I’m sure there’s a few…
Hardy then leaned into the joke, pointing to the storyline itself and needling brother Matt Hardy for turning heel on him at the height of the push.
Back when Matt was a very, very bad brother when he was very envious of me, just for the fact that I was bigger than Obama, during my run in WWE, and he had to turn on me and hit me with a chair and take me out.
Just a terrible brother at that point, and he just couldn’t take it, so he had to try to get rid of me once again, but I’m sure there’s a few out there.
The comments referenced the brothers’ famous WWE feud during one of the hottest periods of Jeff Hardy’s career, made in jest given how far the real-life relationship has come since.
The Hardys reclaimed the TNA World Tag Team Championship at Slammiversary in June and remain the reigning champions.
