Kevin Knight wasn’t happy with some creative choices.
The 29-year-old officially signed with the company in March 2025 and he formed a tag team with “Speedball” Mike Bailey in June. The duo aligned with different names for two reigns with the Trios Title but they failed to win the tag titles by themselves.
With his growing popularity, AEW put the TNT title on Knight back in April. The company then turned him heel at the Double or Nothing PPV in May, where he attacked Dabry Allin. Kevin ended his partnership with Bailey in the following weeks.

While talking about the heel turn on The Hump, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select revealed that Kevin Knight was not happy with how things played out. The reigning TNT Champion apparently wanted his team with Mike Bailey to accomplish more before they broke up:
Based on what I heard, it didn’t seem like he was keen on how the turn happened or all that. There was definitely a different vision. I had heard he wanted the Speedball team to accomplish something first.
Kevin Knight will be challenging Kenny Omega for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship at this Sunday’s Redemption PPV.
