Mistico has accomplished just about everything there is to accomplish in lucha libre, but he already knows what he wants to chase next.
After establishing himself as one of Mexico’s biggest wrestling stars, Mistico has turned his attention toward the United States and, more specifically, AEW.
During a recent interview with Dave Meltzer, the masked star revealed through a translator that one of his next major goals is to compete for the AEW World Championship.
Mistico Wants To ‘Conquer’ AEW
Mistico explained that he views the United States as one of wrestling’s biggest stages, and believes conquering AEW would represent another major achievement in his career. His ambitions go beyond simply making appearances for the promotion. He wants an opportunity at AEW’s biggest prize.
So for Mistico right now, obviously it’s about conquering the United States that has the eyes of the world when it comes to wrestling, and by that he means conquering AEW.
The translator added that Místico specifically wants to challenge for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship after proving himself throughout Mexico and elsewhere around the world.
Mistico also pointed toward some of AEW’s biggest names when discussing the level of competition he wants, mentioning Jon Moxley, Will Ospreay and MJF.
He would love to have a chance at the AEW World Heavyweight title. He says people like Moxley, people like Ospreay, people like MJF.
Mistico believes his track record gives him every reason to pursue an opportunity at that level, with his translator noting that he’s already defeated some of the notable names on his list.
He’s beaten a few names in that list, and he would love to have that opportunity to have to be a part of a world heavyweight title match in AEW, and why not conquer AEW after proving everything he’s done here in Mexico and around the world.
