Moose has spent a full decade helping build TNA into what it is today, but he isn’t under any illusion that he’ll be there forever, and he wants fans to understand why, whenever that day comes.
Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Moose addressed the roster and creative turnover he’s witnessed across his ten years with the company, framing it simply as the nature of the wrestling business rather than a reflection on TNA specifically.
He said he wishes fans understood that reality the way the wrestlers themselves do, since every departure tends to spark backlash online blaming the company for letting someone go.
That understanding extends to his own future. Moose said plainly that he will leave TNA eventually, though he doesn’t know when, and he doesn’t want that moment framed as TNA failing to retain him, pointing out it’s simply how the business works. He compared it to his seven years playing in the NFL, where roster turnover was constant and impersonal, arguing wrestling operates the same way.
It’s just one of those things. It happens. I mean, wrestling’s a revolving door, right? Somebody new leaves, somebody new comes in. I wish our fans knew that a little bit more than the boys do because it tends to be when somebody leaves or asks for their release or their contract is up, you go on social media and everybody’s blasting TNA about, ‘Oh my God, this person’s leaving.’
But I’ve been in TNA for 10 years, and I wish I could tell you it’d been different. It happens every single year. Somebody we love is gonna leave, and somebody new that we get to love is gonna come in.
Moose confirmed those conversations about his future already happen regularly, saying the topic comes up with his family and close associates every time his contract nears expiration.
I mean, there’s gonna be a day when I leave TNA, you know what I’m saying? I don’t know when that day is. And I don’t want fans saying, ‘Oh, TNA messed up by not keeping Moose,’ or by not… No. I mean, it is a business. It’s what happens.
