Nick Jackson has provided an injury update.
The AEW star collided heads with Will Ospreay early in his match at AEW Redemption, where The Young Bucks took on The Death Riders. The injury played a part in the story of the bout, and the spot was largely believed to have been planned in advance.
The AEW EVP still provided an update on his health during the latest Being The Elite. Nick Jackson confirmed that he passed the concussion tests after the bout but noted that he had his bell rung:
I went to the trainer’s room, of course, obviously, and so I had to take multiple concussion tests, and I passed, so that’s good. They said I definitely had my bell rung, but I had a lot of dizziness.
A Whiplash Injury
Prompted by Matt Jackson, the AEW star then revealed a separate injury he suffered at last month’s Forbidden Door PPV from San Jose, California. Nick explained that he has been dealing with weird side effects since that whiplash injury, including feeling foggy at times:
I landed right on my head in—where was that? San Jose, right? I landed right on my head, and that was not a concussion or anything. It was considered a whiplash injury. Ever since then, though, I’ve had these weird effects, like where I feel kind of foggy because of the neck. I didn’t have any vision issues or any of that.
But today, it felt very similar to what I was experiencing last month. But now I feel a lot better. The doctor said that I’m probably not healing fast enough because I’m not having enough carbs. I definitely felt dehydrated today.
The Redemption PPV also saw Cage and Cope retaining their AEW tag team titles against Pac and Claudio Castagnoli. The Young Bucks confronted the champs after the bout, confirming a dream match between the two teams for the upcoming All In PPV on August 30.
