Ring Of Honor Supercard Of Honor XV Final Thoughts

Honestly, the quality of matches on the show was amazing. However, I believe the booking was poor and possibly even disrespectful to the champions of the prior version of ROH. Nevertheless, FTR and The Briscoes had likely one of the best matches you would ever see. Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Martinez developed great chemistry in the ring, which reflected on to the match perception. We also had three new champions crowned in FTR, Minoru Suzuki, and Wheeler Yuta. In addition to these title changes, Jonathan Gresham became the only ROH World Champion in his unification match with Bandido.

Jon Moxley Appears At NJPW Lonestar Shootout

Earlier today, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Jon Moxley made a surprise appearance at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW) Lonestar Shootout event. Moxley hit the ring shortly after Minoru Suzuki’s win over Killer Kross. Getting on the mic, Moxley touched on the fact that, despite dealing with some hamstring and concussion issues, he won’t miss the chance to step into a NJPW ring against Will Ospreay.

Moxley will face off against Ospreay at NJPW Windy City Riot in Chicago, Illinois on April 16, 2022. The former AEW World Champion vowed not to let pride get in his way of teaching Ospreay a lesson. Check out his promo below.

Charlotte Flair & Andrade Set To Be Married

WWE SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair has announced that she and AEW star Andrade are set to be married this summer. Flair broke the news during an interview with BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani. She noted that the wedding will take place in Mexico, and the couple have already bought a dress and set the date. When asked whether or not she would be taking time off for the occasion, Flair was noncommittal in her answer.

“Who knows? You’re acting like I’m gonna lose the title at WrestleMania [laughs],” said Flair (via WrestleZone). ” I think [he] would be a little angry with me if I walked down my aisle with my title.”

Flair will defend her SmackDown Live Women’s Championship tomorrow night at Night One of WrestleMania 38 against Ronda Rousey in Dallas, Texas. It is expected to serve as the main event of the evening.

Randy Orton Reveals How Much Longer He Plans On Wrestling

0

Randy Orton has been a staple in the WWE brand for the past two decades. Over the course of his illustrious career Orton has amassed 14 World Championship reigns. He is also an Intercontinental and United States Championship winner, a former Money In The Bank winner, and a two-time Royal Rumble match winner.

His rivalries with the likes of John Cena, Edge, and Triple H have been some of the greatest in the history of the business. However, at 42-years-old and with over 20 years in the industry, many are beginning to wonder how much longer “The Viper” plans on keeping this up. Speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show” earlier this week, Orton revealed he has no intentions of slowing down anytime soon.

Orton credited his current tag team with Matt Riddle, which whom he reigns as the RAW Tag Team Champions, for revitalizing the fun he has inside the ring again. With that being said, Orton plans on wrestling for at least another 10 years.

“I love what I’m doing. I love what I’m doing in the ring. I would love to do it for a much longer time. 10 more years, 12 more years,” Orton said (via WrestleZone) “I’d like to be like ‘Taker and when I get to the point where my body’s like okay maybe not every week, like I’d love to [do] SummerSlam, WrestleMania, like come and have that big match.”

This weekend Randy Orton will once again team up with Riddle and put their RAW Tag Team Titles on the line. The pair will compete at Night Two of WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, Texas, defending against The Street Prophets and Alpha Academy. You check out the full WrestleMania 38 card below.

Edge Could Be Leading A New Heel Faction After WrestleMania

0

“The Rated R Superstar” Edge could be getting a new heel faction.

Edge made his surprising heel turn after attacking Styles on the Feb. 28 episode of Monday Night Raw. Since turning heel, Edge has changed his character to be more sinister. The veteran also altered his appearance and started doing promos in the dark with a spotlight. However, WWE may have more creative changes to Edge’s character.

WWE is reportedly considering Edge to lead a heel faction, per Fightful. Former United States Champion Damian Priest is said to be among several names under consideration for this new group.

Edge has been in a few factions during his lengthy WWE career. He started off in The Brood with Gangrel and Christian. Later, he was flanked by two “Edge Heads” that later went on to be known as Zack Ryder (Matt Cardona) and Brian Myers (Curt Hawkins).

Does the Alleged Edge Heel Faction Spoil his Wrestlemania Match?

Edge will face AJ Styles at Wrestlemania 38 Night Two on Apr. 3. As the new heel, it’s unclear if WWE will have Edge lose against “The Phenomenal One.” The report noted that it was initially thought that Priest would challenge Finn Balor at Wrestlemania 38. However, both Priest and Balor will compete in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal on the Apr. 1 episode of Smackdown.

WWE could have Priest involved in the Edge vs. Styles match at Wrestlemania Night Two if the report is accurate. The company hasn’t confirmed or had “The Rated R Superstar” allude to creating a faction. Although, it could also help establish Edge more as their new heel.

GCW: For The Culture 3 Final Thoughts

In conclusion, GCW: For The Culture 3 was everything I was hoping the show would be. There was lots of respect, compassion, and unity shown throughout the show which is uncommon for most GCW shows. The multi-man matches really kept the show feeling familiar to the GCW brand. The women’s matches overdelivered. Shane Taylor Promotions and The HitMakerZ match stole the show. At the end of the show, we also saw the first ever all Black deathmatch in Game Changer Wrestling. This show is definitely a step in the right direction and leaves you feeling hopeful!

NXT Wrestlers Encouraged To “Lay It In” During Their Matches

0

Randy Orton made headlines on Thursday during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show about the way the WWE NXT wrestlers are trained. He stated that a lot of guys have lost the art of pro wrestling – making moves look devastating but never hurting their opponent.

He brought up how he has to protect himself because he doesn’t want a broken jaw and taking care of your opponent isn’t something taught in NXT. He added that “they don’t know what the f*ck they’re doing.”

During today’s Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez stated that “Randy Orton is absolutely 100 percent correct” and he has heard that wrestlers in WWE developmental have been told to lay it in (working stuff).

“Bro I don’t know when that changed but I have heard and I am sure that many other people listening to this who might be in the business have heard the same thing – that in developmental, these wrestlers are encouraged to lay it in. They are encouraged to lay it in.”

WWE Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro will defend their titles against The Street Profits and Alpha Academy in a Triple Threat Match on WrestleMania Sunday.

Vince McMahon Reportedly Sees Austin Theory As The Next John Cena

0

Austin Theory is not only getting support on-screen but also behind the scenes from Vince McMahon.

During today’s Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez was talking about what the finish might be for the Austin Theory vs. Pat McAfee match at WrestleMania 38. This is where he noted that McMahon sees Theory like John Cena and there’s a reason he is being groomed and always in McMahon’s segments.

Alvarez speculated that maybe he wants to teach Theory about being able to lose, but he presumed Theory is winning at WrestleMania.

Dating back to his time in NXT, there was talk that he would eventually become a top star on the main roster. WWE needs to create top stars. Theory and Bron Breakker could be two names that can carry the company in the future.

In December, Theory stated that Cena has been his inspiration not just in wrestling but in life and modeled his life at a young age on what he saw Cena do on TV. He also has said that his dream match would be to wrestle Cena in Cena’s retirement match

AJ Styles Reacts to Cody Rhodes Rumors, Title Match Added to IMPACT Rebellion

AJ Styles Reacts to Cody Rhodes Rumors

There are a ton of rumors swirling around who will be Seth Rollins’ mystery opponent at WrestleMania 38 this weekend. The favorite for the nod is none other than former WWE and AEW star Cody Rhodes. Rhodes is currently a free agent after making the decision to leave AEW, and would be the perfect surprise opponent for Rollins in Dallas.

AJ Styles, who faces Edge at this weekend’s “Show Of Shows,” recently offered his thoughts on the matter speaking to Wrestling Inc. during media row. “The Phenomenal One” says he’ll believe it when he sees it.

“Listen, I haven’t seen Cody here, so I’ll believe it when I see it,” Styles said. “This is what we’ve been a part of for a couple, well I’ve been decades. There’s a lot of rumors, but you don’t believe something until you actually see it.”

Title Match Added to IMPACT Rebellion

Zicky Dice’s Trouble In Paradise 2 Final Thoughts

In short, Zicky Dice’s Trouble In Paradise 2 was… OUTLANDISH. Surprisingly, there was an impromptu Falls Count Anywhere Match for the IMPACT Digital Media Championship. During the Sensational Sextuplet Scramble, the referee even got involved by performing some moves on the outside. There was even a full swerve where the bear that Masha Slamovich was supposed to face ended up being Max The Impaler. Regardless of the ‘OUTLANDISH’ activities, the show was without a doubt one of the most fun of the weekend.

Other WrestleCon Shows

In the same vein, this year’s WrestleCon event features six live events. IMPACT Wrestling, AAA, New Japan Strong, also have events scheduled for the Dallas convention.

WrestleCon still has three shows remaining for the weekend. To see the schedule for the remaining events, click here.

Mike Tenay Contacted By WWE & Other Promotions About Coming Out Of Retirement

0

Mike Tenay has a lot of interest from several promotions. He has had a legendary career in the commentary booth as he has called some of the most iconic moments in both WCW and Impact Wrestling. He retired from the business and hasn’t called a match since 2016.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Tenay has received multiple offers to come out of retirement including from companies such as Major League Wrestling and Game Changer Wrestling. The offers from MLW and GCW were for him to be a commentator.

WWE’s offer was for him to have a role in documentaries. However, Tenay declined all of them, as he is enjoying retirement and has no financial burdens.

Per the report, Tenay has said that while he won’t ever rule out a return to the commentary desk, he hasn’t felt like any of the offers were timed right or were in the right place.

Don West, the long-time partner of Tenay in Impact Wrestling, has been dealing with multiple health issues, including being diagnosed with cancer for the second time.

Sean Waltman Will Have Surgery For Torn Bicep

0

Sean Waltman is taking a bit of time away for surgery before coming back to have a few more matches.

Sean Waltman’s Return To Wrestling

X-Pac recently returned to the ring at GCW: Welcome To Heartbreak back in February after being away for almost three years due to a knee injury, and the subsequent surgery. Waltman teamed with Joey Janela to defeat Matt Cardona & Brian Myers.

Following their victory at Welcome To Heartbreak, Waltman was starting to give a speech that made it seemed like he was going to be retiring. However, before the match prior was officially labeled as his swan song, Janela attacked him to set up their match at GCW: Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6.

Sami Zayn Says Johnny Knoxville Feud Has Been “A Pretty Unique Experience”

0

Sami Zayn has enjoyed his feud with Johnny Knoxville ahead of their match at Wrestlemania 38 Night Two on Apr. 3.

WWE has given Zayn the responsibility of working an Anything Goes Match against Knoxville for the company’s biggest event. While fans may feel disappointed in Zayn’s placement on the card, he has liked his Wrestlemania 38 feud. He also doesn’t believe that WWE is misusing him.

In an interview with Sportnet, Zayn shared his thoughts on working with the movie star. Sportnet’s Kevin Michie transcribed the following quotes.

“It’s been a pretty unique experience because I don’t know, in all honesty, that this was always the plan. Our characters played off each other very well, said Zayn. He explained, “…He makes a fool of people and my character you want to see get made a fool of so there’s a natural connection there. I think the chemistry was good, and the reactions were good enough to get us to this point which is to face off at WrestleMania.”

When responding to fans upset about WWE booking for Wrestlemania, he said, “…I see the occasional comment (that) I should be doing something more, something better than wrestling Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania. I’m kind of thinking to myself, ‘what do you want exactly? What’s better?’ Unless you’re main eventing for the world title. Not everything is, ‘you’re main evening for the world title, or you’re being misused.”

How Much Will WWE Allow Johnny Knoxville To Do At Wrestlemania 38?

At 51 years old, it’s unclear how much WWE will allow Knoxville to do at Wrestlemania 38: Night Two. The movie star has a history of concussions and other physical abuse he faced. In the filming of the recent installment of Jackass, Knoxville shared on The Howard Stern Show that he suffered a broken wrist, broken ribs, and a concussion that caused a brain hemorrhage.

The match is billed as Anything Goes, allowing either opponent to use weapons. Zayn will have the duty of putting on a good match and safely guiding Knoxville through it. Fans of Knoxville should hope that WWE limits what happens in the match.

On the stream, Cesaro mentioned League of Legends and Witcher as other games that he would like to stream. He also said that he wants to play Nintendo Switch games because Breeze plays a lot of PS5 and Xbox games. Cesaro also added that he plans to steam again on April 1.

Ace Austin is sticking around in IMPACT Wrestling for a while.

Ace Austin Re-Signs With IMPACT Wrestling

Ace Austin spoke with Sportskeeda, and during the interview he announced that he had signed a new multi-year deal with IMPACT Wrestling.

Ace made his debut in IMPACT back in 2019. He is a former two-time X-Division Champion and the 2021 Super X Cup winner.

Ace even spoke about the reason that he decided to stay in IMPACT. “I wish that I could give a very different answer than, ‘why did I sign with IMPACT in the first place?’ The answer is pretty much the same. It’s the place to be right now. It’s the best environment backstage that I’ve personally experienced. I experienced all the locker rooms in 2018.

It’s the place that has been my home and has been such a launching point for me. I feel like there is some unfinished business. It wasn’t time to leave after three years. I accomplished a lot, but I didn’t accomplish everything that I said I would. That’s very important to me,” Austin said.

GCW: LA Fights vs JCW Final Thoughts

In conclusion, GCW: LA Fights vs JCW was everything we expected it to be. From the multi-person matches, to the brutal and crafty collisions, both promotions came out looking dominant. Although it was hard to focus during the Super Series of Survival Match, in the best way possible, the matches after definitely brought your attention right back. Many of the wrestlers on the card showed new levels of grit and intensity. The final two matches were intense, to say the least.

GCW: The Collective still has nine shows remaining for the weekend. To see the schedule for the remaining events, click here.

Triple H Reportedly Makes Surprise Appearance At WWE Talent Meeting

0

Triple H made a very special appearance during a WWE talent meeting in Dallas, Texas this week. The report comes from Fightful, which notes that “The Game” was introduced by WWE Talent Relations head John Laurinaitis to kick off the meeting Thursday night. This was quite the treat for talent, as most hadn’t seen the WWE Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development since August.

The scene was said to be very emotional, with Hunter discussing his recent health struggles, which led to him making the decision to retire from in-ring competition for good. “The Game” then introduced WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan, who he described as a friend of over 10 years. Khan offered up some news to the talent regarding pay. Specifically that they will earn additional compensation on top of their Superstar contracts for any revenue generated via third-party platforms.

This includes the likes of services such as Cameo, autograph signings, scripted and un-scripted programming. The meeting was reportedly described as overwhelmingly positive by several Superstars, with one going as far as saying it was a great way to kick off the WrestleMania weekend.

As for Triple H, he has been steadily increasing his involvement in public appearances as WrestleMania 38 approaches this weekend. He was present for WWE tryouts in Frisco, Texas this past Thursday, and also appeared for The Undertaker’s life-size statue unveiling this week. The former WWE Champion had taken time away from the business after suffering a cardiac episode this past fall.

Becky Lynch Was Ready To Come Back At WrestleMania 37 And ‘Do Something With Bayley’

0

Becky Lynch wanted to make her return to the ring at the 2021 WrestleMania to do something impactful with Bayley.

As you may remember, Becky Lynch reliquished her Raw Women’s title on May 11, 2020 when she announced that she was pregnant. Becky held the title for 399 days before vacating it and giving it to Asuka.

Lynch Wanted To Return At WrestleMania 37

Becky Lynch recently appeared in an interview with Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, where she talked about her journey to coming back to the ring and how it came about.

When asked about her feelings on missing last year’s WrestleMania, the RAW Women’s Champion replied, “I was trying, I was trying to get booked. Before, I wanted to come back by WrestleMania. I wanted to be back in less than a year. You know? And so, there was part of it going, ‘I could’ve been doing this. I could’ve been doing that.’ But, you know, look, everybody did a fantastic job. It wasn’t even a full capacity WrestleMania. It was, what, a quarter, a quarter of the way full. Yea, but you always want to be involved. You always, you look on.”

Becky Wanted To Do Something Impactful With Bayley

Becky even talked about who she wanted to have a program with at the showcase of the immortals, “I didn’t, I didn’t necessarily have a dream scenario. At the time, Bayley wasn’t, didn’t have a match. And so, she had been killing it. She was killing it all the way up to then, especially during the pandemic. And so, I thought it would be pretty great seeing as we never really had a story, to come out there and do something with her, something impactful.”

Despite being an MVP of the WWE pandemic era, Bayley did not receive a match at WrestleMania 37. For a chunk of the pandemic, Bayley was the SmackDown Women’s Champion, and also held half of the Women’s Tag Team Championships at the same time. At the event, Bayley was only involved in short, mainly comedy, segments. Bayley eventually did end up getting beat up by The Bella Twins on Night 2.

Becky Found Out About Her SummerSlam Return Less Than A Week Before

After 15 months away from the ring, at the 2021 SummerSlam, Becky Lynch made her return. After it was announced that Sasha Banks would be unable to compete, Becky Lynch came out to challenge Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in Sasha’s place. Lynch would end up punching Belair and pinning her with the Manhandle Slam in under 30 seconds.

Ariel asked about the length of time it took for Becky to return is she was ready to perform in April.

“You ask them. I was ready to come back. Yea, and so, I only got the call the Monday before I came back. So, it was on a Saturday. SummerSlam was on a Saturday last year. So, they call me on Monday and said, ‘We may need you. A situation has come up where somebody is out of the match, and we may need you to do this, or we may need you to do something else.’ I go, ‘So, okay, you need me either way, but you just don’t know which way.’ He said, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Alright, I’ll be there.’ Luckily, I had gotten my hair done the day before,” Lynch answered.

Lynch’s WrestleMania 38 Plans

On WrestleMania Saturday, Becky Lynch is scheduled to face her SummerSlam opponent once again. Bianca Belair won the Women’s Elimination Chamber match back at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in February to earn the opportunity to challenge for the title at the biggest show of the year. Both women are former WrestleMania main events, and both won their respective matches. Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch will go one-on-one for the RAW Women’s Championship on April 2 in Dallas, Texas. Airing from the AT&T Stadium, You can watch WWE WrestleMania 38 on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network internationally.

0

The 2022 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is finally here.

Each year during WrestleMania weekend, the wrestling world comes together to honor the deserving inductees as they take their rightful places among the immortals.

WWE Hall of Fame 2022 Inductees

Here are this year’s WWE Hall of Fame inductees:

  • The Undertaker
  • Vader
  • Sharmell
  • The Steiner Brothers

Plus, former WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard will receive the coveted Warrior Award. Gaspard passed away in May 2020 after sacrificing his own life to save his son.

Gaspard’s courage and heroism exemplify everything the Warrior Award represents. However, we feel it’s time to rename the Warrior Award.

WWE has produced the following video highlighting The Undertaker’s unparalleled career ahead of his Hall of Fame induction:

Time & How to Watch

The 2022 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place Friday, April 1st from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

You can watch the event on Peacock at 10:00 PM ET on the Peacock streaming service.

Bray Wyatt On A Return To Wrestling: “I Think About It Often”

0

WrestleMania weekend is the largest wrestling gathering of the year. It sees some of the biggest wrestling names coming together for various events, including Bray Wyatt.

The former WWE star, real name Windham Rotunda noted on Instagram that he has arrived in Dallas for his scheduled WrestleCon appearance. He also took the time to answer some fan questions.

Wyatt, who has mostly been away from wrestling since his WWE release last year was asked about returning to the ring. Replying to it, he said that he couldn’t imagine spending the rest of his life without stepping in the ring again:

“I will always love wrestling. I couldn’t imagine spending the rest of my life without stepping in the ring again and hearing that roar again. I think about it often. Everything has to be in place though. Like I said, timing is everything.”

‘It Was A Confession’

Bray Wyatt also commented on the origin of the Firefly Funhouse. He claimed that the early Funhouse segments were a story about his life:

“The Firefly Funhouse, at least the early ones, are a story about my life. I told you stories in there that happened live on television and many that you could never know.

It was confessions. They were short, stylized documentaries about my life. That’s why they connected. They weren’t just about wrestling. They were an origin story.”

Per Wyatt, he hid his struggles and his comeback in the segments because he wanted people to feel when they watched the vignettes. He claimed that he felt every emotion fathomable during the making of them.

Apart from this, Bray Wyatt discussed his health. He said that he has never been healthier both physically and mentally. He claimed that this is a happy time for him.

Now is the Time for WWE to Rename the Warrior Award

0

It’s time for WWE to rename the Warrior Award.

Each year, WWE presents the Warrior Award at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. It’s given to people who are courageous, honorable and have overcome adversity.

Over the past several years, wrestling fans have pleaded with WWE to name the award after someone else, anyone else, due to The Ultimate Warrior’s history of racist, homophobic, hateful and downright cruel public statements.

Ultimate Warrior’s Beliefs

The Ultimate Warrior had made many controversial statements before his passing on Apr. 8, 2014. He wrote blog posts and spoke publicly about his offensive personal beliefs.

Vice published an article with several quotes from The Ultimate Warrior, like mocking Heath Ledger’s and Bobby Heenan’s death. He also made offensive remarks regarding the LGBT community and the black community.

In 2005, The Ultimate Warrior shared some of his problematic beliefs with students at The University of Connecticut. A video of the speech was published on Youtube. He expressed that the LGBT community and Kwanzaa were illegitimate during his speech.

“…In the classrooms across this country, minds are being trained anti-truth, anti- discipline, anti-virtue, anti-American. We are training minds in this country and the schools across this nation literally to be anti-mine, and this continued idiotic assault to rationality and reason upside down on its head and supplant feelings for thinking so much so that every word of every concept in every act of every action no longer have any meaning has compromised not only our republic but our humanity altogether to an offensive of world relativity where everything is just as legitimate as everything else, where there are no absolutes. No right or wrong. No true or false,” said the Ultimate Warrior.

He continued, “… The broadest and most despicable illustration of this most destructive consequence of moral relativity is that barbarism today is as legitimate as civilization. Nothing subject to moral relativity is left out to these two extremes. That the bums is as legitimate as the businessman.” The Ultimate Warrior brought up homosexuality. However, a female student groaned in displeasure, and he made a sexist remark. He shared, “…Let me come down off my politically correct horse, that queers are as legitimate as heterosexuals. He also shared he believed homosexuality wasn’t legitimate. When asked why by upset students, he said “reality.” He also said “…That Kwanzaa is just as legitimate as Santa Claus at Christmas.”

Dana Warrior on Her Husband Past

The widow of the Ultimate Warrior, Dana Warrior, shared before his passing that he changed his heart thanks to his daughters. It’s unclear precisely what that means, but fans will never know if he changed his views or became accepting of others. Unfortunately for the Warrior Family, The Ultimate Warrior has a documented history of controversial and offensive comments.

Wrestling fans believe that WWE can have someone else’s name attached to the award.

Shad Gaspard Warrior Award

Why Shad Gaspard Should be Considered

WWE announced that Shad Gaspard would posthumously receive the Warrior Award in the 2022 Hall of Fame. On May. 17, 2020, Gaspard and his son were caught in a strong current while swimming. When Lifeguards came to help, he instructed them to help his son first, and Gaspard disappeared at sea to be found dead days later. He passed away at 39 years old. He was beloved by his peers and fans, that also believed Gaspard should be honored by naming the award after him.

The company’s description of the Warrior Award is “…presented to an individual who has exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of The Ultimate Warrior.” Wrestling fans believe that Gaspard is a true embodiment of courage and compassion.

While The Ultimate Warrior is a wrestling legend, he has a problematic past. His past comments contradict what the WWE considers to be his character. Gaspard fits WWE’s criteria, and the company also believes because he’s receiving the award posthumously. Although it may come with WWE having to answer admit wrongdoing, the company should consider renaming the Warrior Award.

Brock Lesnar’s Post-WrestleMania WWE PPV Schedule

0

WrestleMania is usually the PPV where big WWE storylines conclude. For someone like Brock Lesnar, it signals the start of another hiatus until he is needed to pump the ratings again.

Though it appears that things are going to be different this year. We’re going to see a lot more of The Beast Incarnate than we are used to after the Show Of Shows.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently provided some update on Lesnar. He revealed Brock’s post Mania PPV schedule.

The WWE champion is expected to work at least two of the next three PPV events post-WrestleMania 38, according to the wrestling journalist.

This includes the WrestleMania: Backlash event scheduled for May 8 from Providence, RI, and the Money In The Bank PPV on July 2 from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Brock Lesnar is currently scheduled to face the Universal champion Roman Reigns. This winner takes all match will main event WrestleMania Sunday.

The former UFC champion’s PPV appearances would make a lot more sense if he comes out of Sunday’s event as the dual champion. Though whether or not it actually happens will only be revealed later this week.

GCW: Planet Death Quick Results

  1. Slade defeated Bam Sullivan in a Taipei Deathmatch
  2. Cole Radrick defeated Akira in a Light tube Deathmatch
  3. Sawyer Wreck defeated Brandon Kirk in an Intergender Barb of F*ckery Deathmatch
  4. Shane Mercer defeated Neil Diamond Cutter in a Light Bundle Deathmatch
  5. Hoodfoot defeated Mad Man Pondo in a Light Tube Deathmatch
  6. Sadika defeated Jimmy Lloyd in an Intergender Deathmatch

Overall Thoughts on GCW: Planet Death

GCW: Planet Death may not be enjoyable for wrestling fans that don’t like Deathmatches. Every match on the show had someone bleed profusely. If you aren’t a fan of wrestlers getting hit with light tubes or cut on the forehead with a blade, this show may not interest you.

The event delivers on what fans should expect from fans of Deathmatches. The matches on the card are brutal. The competitors on the card put their bodies through pain to put on an entertaining show. However, bouts like Mercer vs. Cutter also tell stories in the match that may make you interested in how it would end. One of the standout matches on the card was Radrick vs. Akira, as both wrestles took a tremendous amount of punishment and dished it out.

The event is also an hour and a half long, making it easier to watch. Despite cleaning the objects in the ring after a match, the PPV pacing was good. Deathmatch or curious fans that missed the show could be interested in seeing the PPV on VOD for $12.99.
