AEW & Others Sent Feelers to Bray Wyatt Before WWE Return

0

Bray Wyatt made his return to WWE at last weekend’s Extreme Rules Premium Live Event, but only after some efforts from other promotions.

Wyatt’s return came after weeks of ‘White Rabbit’ teases, and the former Universal Champion earned a thunderous response in Philadelphia.

Bray had been controversially released from WWE, which was reportedly over creative differences with then-WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

Feelers

Wyatt’s return is yet another victory for WWE’s Head of Talent Relations Triple H, who has brought back several released talents since being appointed in July.

Sports Illustrated reports that while WWE was negotiating with Wyatt, AEW had sent ‘feelers’ to gauge Bray’s interest in joining.

Impact Wrestling and AAA also sent feelers, trying to determine if Wyatt would consider signing with them instead.

It had been previously reported that Wyatt’s asking price had left all but the biggest promotions unable to afford appearances from the former Universal Champion.

What’s Next?

With Wyatt now back with WWE, the biggest question is what is next for him?

Some have suggested that Wyatt is set to start a new Wyatt family, with many pointing to the characters featured at Extreme Rules.

As part of his return, individuals dressed as Huskus the Pig, Ramblin’ Rabbit, Abby the Witch, Mercy the Buzzard and The Fiend made appearances.

Grayson Waller, who many believe played Mercy the Buzzard, teased involvement in Wyatt, having a Bray Wyatt head lantern in the background of a recent tweet.

Wyatt’s next appearance has been confirmed for this Friday’s episode of SmackDown on FOX.

Jake Roberts to “A**hole” Bret Hart: You Got What you Deserved in Montreal

0

Did Bret screw Bret as Vince McMahon once infamously claimed? Certainly so, according to Jake ‘The Snake Roberts.

In 1997, Hart was infamously ‘screwed’ out of the WWF Championship at the Survivor Series, after refusing to lose to real-life rival Shawn Michaels.

An agreement was made that Bret would retain at Survivor Series and vacate the title the next night on Raw, while not under contract with the WWF.

Instead, Hart and Michaels ‘screwed’ Bret of the title, giving Shawn a submission win without Bret tapping out.

You Deserve It

Bret being screwed is the most infamous example of a champion not losing the title, but hardly the only one.

When Rick Rude left the NWA to join the WWF, he did so as one-half of the NWA World Tag Champions.

Speaking on this week’s DDP Snake Pit podcast about Rude made his thoughts clear on champions and on Montreal.

“I don’t agree with that [leaving as Champion] at all. You know, there’s been so many guys who get away with it too. Holding up promoters because they don’t want to lose the title in a certain area. Maybe Canada, has that ever happened? Oh wait, it did. Shawn and Bret. He didn’t want to drop it in Canada, so they [Vince McMahon and others] screwed him.

“You didn’t get screwed a**hole! You got what you deserved. How do you have the right, not to drop that title? That title, that was given to you. You did not beat up anybody to get that.

“You didn’t get screwed a**hole! You got what you deserved.”

Jake Roberts on Bret Hart.

“The reason you have that title is because some other schmuck was a good enough guy to lose to you [The Undertaker at Summerslam 1997.] So you not dropping that title tells me you don’t give a flying f*ck about anybody else but yourself, and that’s very selfish. It’s wrong and if you are contemplating doing it, that’s for you.”

Working with Rick

While Rude would be part of DX at the time of the Montreal Screwjob, the act left a deep impression on the Ravishing One.

Rude would leave for WCW immediately after the Screwjob, and would bash Shawn Michaels and DX.

Speaking about Rude, Roberts said it was great working with him.

“It was very easy for me. I always play up to whatever they have. And Rick had a lot, so I could play up to a lot of things with him. So I was very comfortable with him and I was very fortunate that he listened to me.”

Rude sadly passed in 1999 and would be posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017.

“Who Doesn’t Love Me?” – MJF Reacts To Chris Jericho Saying He Will Be One Of The Top Babyfaces In AEW

0

Popular AEW star MJF recently discussed Chris Jericho with Sam Roberts on the Notsam Wrestling show.

Chris Jericho defeated Claudio Castagnoli to win the ROH Championship but cheated to do so. Chris is set to defend the ROH Championship in Toronto tomorrow night on Dynamite against another Blackpool Combat Club member.

Bryan Danielson will look to avenge his loss to Jericho at Dynamite: Grand Slam this Wednesday night and become the ROH Champion once again. Jericho challenged Danielson to the match after defeating Bandido on Dynamite on September 28th.

MJF On Possibly Becoming A Good Guy In AEW

During the conversation on Notsam Wrestling, Roberts brought up Chris Jericho’s comments about MJF during the media scrum where he said MJF is going to wind up being one of the top babyfaces in the company.

@_denisesalcedo

? original sound – Denise Salcedo

MJF jokingly agreed with Chris and said that he’s already a great guy and is salt of the earth. Maxwell compared his reaction to that of Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and noted that he gets the loudest pop in the company.

I think I’m a great guy. I think I’m salt of the earth. You kidding me? So I totally agree with Chris. Who doesn’t love me? And that’s the thing, like I said, you’ll find the biggest stars in our industry today are all going through the exact same thing.

This is just true, when I come through the curtain when Roman comes through the curtain, this is a good example. You will hear the crowd and it’s deafening. There’s cheers going on and there’s boos going on. But the most important thing is, it is the loudest it will be all night.

Now, do I feel that there will come a time in my career where I will entire lean into the cheering, I don’t know. What I do know is what I care about the most and that is money. I’m not changing a damn thing.

“I Was Not Prepared” – MJF Reveals That He Wasn’t Ready To Be Cheered In AEW

0

AEW star Maxwell Jacob Friedman sat down with Sam Roberts for an interview on Notsam Wrestling and admitted that he was not ready to be cheered by the fans.

Maxwell returned at AEW All Out in September after a hiatus that lasted several months. Stokely Hathaway’s The Firm faction helped a man in a devil mask win the Casino Ladder match.

The man was later revealed to be MJF when he showed up following CM Punk’s victory over Jon Moxley to become AEW World Champion. CM Punk’s title reign would be incredibly short-lived, as he was injured in the match and was also suspended following a brawl with The Elite after his rant at the media scrum.

All of these factors led to MJF receiving a hero’s welcome from the crowd on the following Dynamite. Maxwell has since referred to his fans as his “devil worshippers”.

MJF On Not Being Prepared To Be Cheered

During the interview on Notsam Wrestling, Roberts asked if he was amused by fans who cheer Max because they believe they are in on it. MJF revealed that he was initially not prepared for the fans to start cheering him.

I’m going to be completely transparent, I was not prepared for the devil worshippers. Now I’m all for it. Grab your pitchforks daddy let’s go. I’m all for it.

When I came out I had what used to be called a LoD (Legion of Doom) pop, it is now an MJF pop.

My ears were bleeding and we were in Chicago of all places. When I got to the back, it was that moment I went ‘oh, this is new, okay’.

And the way I look at it now is this, I’m a megastar. When my music hits, I’m going to get a guttural reaction from the fans.

Because there’s nothing like me in professional wrestling. If you want to cheer me, cheer me. If you want to boo me, boo me.

It also seems to be dependent on where we are at. For example, we were just in Philadelphia and I saw people trying to get over the guardrail to get at me.

MJF is in line for a title opportunity at a time in place of his choosing. Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Championship against Hangman Page. on Dynamite on a special Tuesday night episode on October 18th.

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns asked the Brooklyn crowd to acknowledge him. Sami Zayn suggested that Jey Uso hasn’t been very “Uce-y” as of late and wondered if he could loosen up a bit. Jey gets pissed off and asked Roman if this was a joke.

Riddle noted that he can’t challenge for the title as long as Roman is champ due to a previous stipulation, but wanted the match anyway. Jey offered up Sami instead and Zayn wound up challenging Riddle to a match later tonight.

Mysterio tripped up Balor and went for a 619 but Dominik leveled him with a Crossbody. Dominik paced around his father and demanded that he fight him. Rey refused and went to exit the ring. Dominik attacked from behind and Rhea held Rey up on the ropes. Dominik hit the 619 on his father as Rhea cackled ringside.

Gallows & Anderson Returned To Battle With AJ Styles Against The Judgment Day

The Judgment Day boasted about the attack and Dominik bragged about beating down Rey. AJ Styles interrupted and admitted that there comes a time when a man needs friends and family.

AJ knelt before Judgment Day and then shared a hug with Finn Balor. Finn told AJ that he is so proud of him and he knew that he would finally come around. Styles then revealed that he wasn’t talking about Balor.

Gallows and Anderson then made their return and stood beside AJ Styles. The crowd chanted “holy sh**” as a brawl broke out. Gallows, Anderson, and Styles (The OC) beat down Judgment Day as the crowd cheered.

Damage CTRL Sent A Message

Byron Saxton sat down with Damage CTRL backstage. Dakota Kai stated that she was at rock bottom and Bayley was the only one to extend a hand to try and help her. Dakota added that Bianca, Asuka, and Alexa have no idea what they would do for Bayley. The Role Model vowed to “kick Candice’s ass” tonight.

Bayley battled Candice LeRae in a singles match. Candice controlled the action early and rolled up Bayley for a near fall. The Poison Pixie was still in control when RAW returned from a break. LeRae connected with a Senton but kept grabbing her knee in pain. Candice followed it up with a Dropkick and went for the cover but The Role Model kicked out at two.

Bayley tied up Candice in the Tree of Woe and went to work on her injured knee. Bayley went for a submission move but Candice countered into a cradle for the pinfall victory. After the match, Bayley went for an attack but LeRae got out of the ring

Omos Dominated

Omos made his way to the ring with MVP for a Handicap match against two enhancement talents. The big man delivered a couple of Splashes and then a double Chokeslam for the pinfall victory. Omos hit a couple of Chokebombs after the match as well.

Brock Lesnar Attacked The United States Champion

Bobby Lashley was set to defend United States Championship against Seth Rollins tonight on WWE RAW. Lashley called out Seth before the match but The Beast Brock Lesnar showed up instead.

Brock Lesnar made his way to the ring as Bobby stared at him. Lesnar circled Lashley in the ring while posing for the crowd. Brock said “well holy sh**, good evening Brooklyn!” to pop the crowd. Lesnar then said good evening to Lashley and hit the champion with an F5.

The crowd chanted “one more time” and Lesnar nodded. Brock planted Bobby with a German Suplex and then another F5. The crowd chanted “one more time” once again and Brock smiled again. Lesnar applied the Kimura Lock before exiting the ring.

Seth Rollins Won The US Title, Lashley Called Out Lesnar For Next Week

Seth Rollins marched down to the ring with taped ribs following the Fight Pit match at Extreme Rules. Seth wanted Lashley to get into the ring and defend the title but the champion started to walk away. Rollins shouted that he wants the match right now and noted that Bobby claimed that he was a fighting champion. Seth added that Bobby is supposed to a soldier but he’s not, he is a disgrace to the country.

Lashley stopped and hobbled back into the ring. Bobby asked for the match to be started and the referee rang the bell. Bobby went for a Spear but Seth countered into a Pedigree for a near fall. Rollins followed it up with the Frog Splash but Bobby somehow kicked out again.

Seth went for the Stomp but Lashley got out of the way. Bobby connected with a Spear but couldn’t go for the cover. The champion went for the Hurt Lock but Rollins attacked the injured arm. Seth connected with a Superkick and followed it up with an elbow strike to the back of Bobby’s head.

Rollins hit the Stomp and fired up the crowd instead of going for the cover. Rollins conducted the crowd to sing his theme before hitting another Stomp for the pinfall victory. Seth Rollins is the new United States Champion.

Byron Saxton interviewed Bobby Lashley backstage and vowed to get revenge on Seth Rollins. Bobby challenged Brock Lesnar to be on RAW next week and said he will show that The Beast is just a little b****.

Bray Wyatt Video, Riddle def. Sami Zayn

A new Bray Wyatt video was shown tonight on WWE RAW. “I used to think that the place inside my head is the place only place I could truly be free. Revel in what you are” was then said over and over again to end the video.

Matt Riddle squared off against Sami Zayn tonight on RAW and The Usos were ringside for the match. Riddle controlled the match early and leveled Sami with a kick to the face. Matt beat Sami down in the corner before unloading a forearm strike to his face for a near fall.

The Honorary Uce battled back and choked Riddle against the ropes. Jey hit Riddle with a cheap shot and Sami yelled at Jey that he can handle this. Zayn hit a springboard Moonsault onto Riddle outside the ring as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Sami hit an elbow to the head off the middle turnbuckle for a two count. Riddle responded with a Pele Kick and both stars fell to the canvas. Matt connected with a Suplex and followed it up with a Broton.

Sami hit a Michinoku Driver and went for the cover but Riddle powered out at two and the match continued. Zayn climbed to the top rope but Riddle hopped up with him. Sami knocked him down but jumped right into a knee to the face from Riddle for a near fall.

Riddle climbed to the top rope but Sami tripped him up. Jey was about to hit Riddle with another cheap shot but Sami stopped him. Riddle rolled Sami up for a near fall before hitting him with a springboard Floating Bro outside the ring as RAW went to a break.

When RAW returned, Riddle hit the Ripcord Knee and Sami fell to the corner. Sami responded with an Exploder Suplex but Riddle shrugged it off. Matt connected with a Powerslam but Zayn sent him out of the ring with a Back Body Drop. Sami stared at Jey to make sure he didn’t hit him with another cheap shot.

Riddle booted Sami in the face and got distracted by The Usos. Jey held Jimmey back as Riddle unloaded a bunch of kicks. Back in the ring, Riddle escaped a Blue Thunder Bomb and hit an RKO for the pinfall victory.

DX Celebrated 25 Years In WWE

Triple H, Road Dogg, Shawn Michaels, and X-Pac arrived on a mini tank at the end of this week’s WWE RAW. Degeneration-X brought out some glow sticks and made the “X” sign. X-Pac fired up the crowd in Barclay’s Center and mentioned Chyna to kick off the promo.

Triple H asked Brooklyn if they were ready and said for 25 years “we would like to say thank you and we love you all”. The Game joked that he needed to catch his breath first before saying “let’s get ready to suck it!” as the crowd cheered. Shawn Michaels grabbed the microphone and a loud “HBK!” chant broke out. Shawn asked the crowd to put them out of their misery if they are back out here in 25 years. Michaels added “if you ain’t down with that, we’ve got two words for you, suck it!” to close the show.

Seth Rollins Wins WWE United States Title

0

Seth Rollins has dethroned Bobby Lashley as the WWE United States Champion.

On Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, Rollins was supposed to challenge Lashley for the title. However, before he did, Brock Lesnar made his return and attacked Lashley by hitting him with a few F5s and locking in the kimura submission hold.

Lashley was being helped from ringside by some referees when Rollins walked out, got into the ring to cut a promo in typical heel fashion, and talked down to Lashley as a way to try to fire him up and accept the match despite being injured.

Seth Rollins is a Champion Again

Lashley bit on the bait and accepted the match. Rollins managed to get some near falls with a pedigree and a frog splash off the top rope. WWE kept Lashley strong and had him connect with a few moves before Rollins laid him out with the stomp to become the new champion.

Rollins just lost to Matt Riddle in the Fight Pit Match at Saturday’s Extreme Rules, with UFC Legend Daniel Cormier serving as the special guest referee.

Brock Lesnar Attacks Bobby Lashley During WWE Raw Return

0

Brock Lesnar didn’t stay away from WWE television for long as he returned on the season premiere edition of Monday Night Raw.

It happened when Lesnar came out and hit a few F5s to United States Champion Bobby Lashley, who was slated to defend the title against Seth Rollins. Lashley also put him in the kimura. It appears this may have been done to set up a rematch between them at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia next month.

https://twitter.com/btsportwwe/status/1579655545266413568

Brock is Back

Lesnar was last seen on WWE programming when he wrestled Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a last man standing match in the main event of the SummerSlam event. Lesnar came up short in that match that was supposed to put an “end” to their rivalry but went out in style when he lifted up the ring with a tractor that sent Reigns tumbling out of the ring.

As of this writing, Lesnar is advertised for the WWE Day 1 premium event on January 1, 2023, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, the Royal Rumble next January in San Antonio, TX, and WrestleMania 39 next April in Los Angeles, CA.

WWE will likely add him to more shows in the coming days.

“Young Rock” Star at Season Premiere of RAW

0

“Young Rock” star, Uli Latukefu, was shown ringside during RAW. He even did the famous eyebrow raise and smelled what someone was cooking.

Young Rock was recently renewed for a third season back in May. The show is being moved from Tuesday nights to Friday nights and will go one-on-one with SmackDown. The show follows Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s life from childhood, his teenage years, going to the University of Miami, and becoming a wrestler.

Johnson is currently promoting his film, BLACK ADAM. The film will be released on October 21. He has long been rumored to be Roman Reigns’s opponent at WrestleMania 39 at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. It’s all dependent on Johnson’s busy schedule.

Season three of Young Rock will premiere on Friday, November 4 at 8:30 PM ET on NBC.

Backstage News on Who is Training Logan Paul for WWE Crown Jewel Match

0

WWE has selected two agents to be in charge of training Logan Paul for his upcoming Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match against Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel.

This match is expected to headline the Crown Jewel event on November 5 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. PWInsider reports that former WWE Cruiserweight Champions Shane Helms and Drew Gulak are training Paul.

Logan Paul Putting in The Work

Logan Paul SummerSlam
(WWE)

The bout was made official during a press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite only working a handful of matches so far in his pro wrestling career, this will mark Paul’s first championship match and main event.

Reigns is undefeated in his previous two matches at Crown Jewel events as at last year’s Crown Jewel, Reigns defeated his longtime rival Brock Lesnar to retain the Universal Championship.

Paul called out Reigns after having him on his podcast. Paul speculated that he’d win in a match against Roman back in June, noting that his second-ever boxing opponent was Floyd Mayweather. He confronted Reigns on this past Friday’s SmackDown, where he had a promo segment that involved Reigns, flanked by Paul Heyman and The Usos. Paul promised to smash Paul worse than he’s ever been.

The Good Brothers Return to WWE on Raw

0

The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson) are back in WWE as they returned during Monday Night Raw.

There was a segment in the second hour where Finn Balor was doing a promo in the ring with Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley. He bragged about his win over Edge at Extreme Rules.

Balor gave AJ Styles a choice to side with Judgment Day or be against them. AJ came out and said he was not out there to argue with Balor, but everything he ever needed was standing in front of him.

Good Brothers Are Back

AJ Styles with The Good Brothers

He said he needed friends and hugged Balor, acting like he was going to join the group. Styles told him that he wasn’t talking about Balor. However, Gallows and Anderson walked out instead, leading to a brawl where Gallows and Anderson stood tall in the ring with Styles.

This was expected as the Good Brothers return was previously reported by PWinsider.com, where they were seen spotted filming content with Styles as they reunited The OC.

For what it’s worth, Anderson is the current NJPW NEVER Openweight Champion. Gallows and Anderson finished up with Impact Wrestling in August.

WWE made overtures over the summer about having the Good Brother return when Vince McMahon was still with the company. However, a deal wasn’t reached because Gallows and Anderson wouldn’t come back for a cheap price. In 2019, they felt like they were burnt by WWE when they opted to re-sign instead of taking a deal with AEW, and WWE released them several months later.

Former ROH Stars Backstage For WWE Raw Season Premiere

0

Tonight WWE presents their season premiere of their flagship program Raw, which is taking place from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn New York, and will be featuring the reunion of the legendary Degeneration-X faction, as well as a number of matches from your favorite WWE superstars.

However, aside from their normal talent and staff there are two unusual presences. According to PW Insider, former ROH stars Vincent and Dutch (aka Bill Carr) are backstage ahead of tonight’s show. The report does not mention whether the two men will be used on programming or if they are just visiting friends backstage.

Vincent and Dutch were both members of the group known a The Righteous, and held ROH Six-man tag team gold together. While that was Dutch’s only title reign in ROH Vincent held the six-man title on four separate occasions.

Dutch was actually signed to a WWE development contract back in 2010, and worked for the company’s FCW brand, which would eventually morph into NXT. He would be released in 2011 and began working steadily on the indies before making his way to Ring of Honor.

Vincent just finished up a run in IMPACT Wrestling as a member of the Honor No More group.

Stay tuned for more backstage updates.

Two WWE NXT Stars Worked Main Event Before Monday’s Raw

0

Two WWE NXT stars got the chance to work in front of a large crowd for the first time in their careers at Monday’s Raw for the Main Event taping.

On WWE Main Event, Carmelo Hayes and Von Wagner will appear on this week’s episode.  R-Truth shared the ring with Wagner while Hayes wrestled Cedric Alexander. Before the Hayes vs. Alexander match, Hayes got to do some promo work.

More NXT Stars Work Main Event

Carmelo Hayes

Just last week, WWE brought in Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen, and Fallon Henley to work the Main Event taping at Monday Night Raw. It appears that WWE is going back to the trend of looking at its developmental talent on a bigger stage than NXT to see if they’re ready for the main roster.

At the October 22nd Halloween Havoc special, Hayes will work a Ladder match for the NXT North American Championship alongside Oro Mensah, Wes Lee, Wagner and the winner of Nathan Frazer vs. Axiom on Tuesday’s episode of NXT.

Hayes lost the North American Title to Solo Sikoa on NXT TV last month before Sikoa was stripped of the title because he wasn’t authorized to participate.

The Rock Officially Acknowledges Roman Reigns As The Tribal Chief

0

The Rock was interviewed by Chris Van Vliet recently to promote his new film BLACK ADAM. The Warner Bros. film is scheduled to be released on October 21st.

Chris told The Rock that his super power is being kind to people and noted that The Great One has always been respectful towards him.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson noted that being kind is one of the easiest things to do and it takes effort to be an ass****. The Brahma Bull revealed that his weakness was tequila during the interview. The Rock recently launched his Teremana tequila company.

During the conversation, Chris asked The Rock how he would define success. The 50-year-old explained that he defines success by how he makes people feel.

The number one anchoring element is to always make sure that people walk away feeling good. That’s important. They walk out of the theaters feeling good watching a movie, if they are watching it at home, they feel good when the credits are rolling.

There’s a product that I’ve created and delivered, they feel good with that as well. I define success by how it makes people feel. I would also define success by raising some good babies if you are fortunate enough to have some kids.

The Rock Acknowledges Roman Reigns

CVV brought up WWE and asked The Great One if he was still keeping up with what is going on in the company. The Rock admitted that he did and acknowledge Roman Reigns as his Tribal Chief because that is his family.

I do (acknowledge The Tribal Chief), it’s my family. I think they are doing a great job (The Bloodline). I think, what an interesting shift that the company has gone through this year, unexpected in many ways.

But when unexpected things happen in that kind of way, especially in that business, you’ve got to have the ability and agility to pivot. Which they have, so with Roman, I think he’s doing a pretty good job. The boys too, The Usos too as well.

Triple H recently spoke with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport and revealed that the window is closing for the dream match between The Rock and Roman Reigns. Roman has held the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for 769 days. The Rock has become massively successful in Hollywood since exiting WWE.

MJF Reveals What He Wants To Accomplish In His Career: “I Don’t Even Like Wrestling”

0

MJF was a guest on Notsam Wrestling today with Sam Roberts and discussed several topics.

The 26-year-old is line for a shot at the AEW World Championship at a time and place of his choosing. Jon Moxley captured the title at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam by defeating Bryan Danielson in the finals of the Tournament of Champions. Jon will defend the title on a special Tuesday night edition of Dynamite on October 18th.

Speaking on Notsam Wrestling, MJF revealed that he negotiates his own contracts and claimed that it what makes him super rich.

My wrestling deals I have handled my entire career entirely by myself. Which is why I make a stupid amount of money right now at 26 years old.

If I’m being completely honest and transparent, I think it’s definitely fair to say that no one at my age is making the money that I’m making right now in the history of the business.

Like if you back at 26-year-olds, they were not making the amount of money that I’m making right now. Ever, in the history of the business.

Sam Roberts asked if making money was always the most important thing to MJF or if there was a time he just wanted to get better. Maxwell laughed in Sam’s face before giving the following response:

How do you get better when you are already the best? It’s always been about money. It’s not a friend business, right? It’s show business. It’s business. It’s the pro wrestling business. It’s also a sport, don’t get me wrong, but within that sport there is a business.

My goal has always been to make the most amount of money, to then use that to transcend, and enter into the Hollywood sphere.

And then literally leave all my fans in the dust and pretend I never knew they existed in the first place. I don’t even like wrestling.

Here’s the thing, I studied it. I had to in order to be the best. I think through studying it, I grew an appreciation towards profession wrestling.

But once I am done wrestling, you will never see me again. Ever. I am using this sport like a succubus. I am sucking the life out of it, the blood, the money. And then I will be gone.

Maxwell went on to claim that he’s already booked a huge movie that he’s not allowed to announce what it is.

“I Think I Made Him Uncomfortable” – MJF Claims AEW Producer Was In Awe Of How Good He Was

0

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is one of AEW’s most popular stars today and the devil worshipper’s have gotten behind him since his return at All Out.

The 26-year-old is in line for a shot at the AEW World Championship at a time and place of his choosing. Stokely Hathaway’s The Firm stable helped Maxwell win the Casino Ladder Match at All Out. MJF went on to confront former AEW World Champion CM Punk at the conclusion of the PPV.

MJF On AEW Producer Pat Buck Being In Awe Of Him

MJF joined Sam Roberts on the Notsam Wrestling show today. Sam asked MJF when he realized that he was actually good. Maxwell claimed that AEW VP of Talent Development Pat Buck became “unnerved” at how good he was while training at Create A Pro Wrestling.

I think Pat Buck was unnerved by how good I was on day one. I think it made him uncomfortable. I really do, because I look back on it now and I think about being run through the drills at Create A Pro Wrestling at 18-years old.

You know, doing all of the moves, learning it day one, and just nailing everything. I’m not saying that to be funny, this isn’t hyperbolic, I literally did everything perfectly. I remember Pat just had a look on his face, it was half disdain, and half shock and awe.

Sam asked if Pat Buck is a mentor for MJF in AEW now that he’s a producer in the company. The 26-year-old said that Pat was one of the handful of people he respected, along with Brian Myers, FKA WWE star Curt Hawkins. MJF noted that Create A Pro has created the most stars outside of the PC.

Here’s the deal, there is only a handful of people on the planet that I respect, genuinely respect. He’s one of them, as is Brian Myers, AKA Curt Hawkins.

Finn Balor Thinks it’s Time to Address ‘Unspoken Rivalry’ With Top WWE Star

0

Finn Balor believes that his and AJ Styles’ unspoken competitive rivalry needs addressing in the ring on WWE programming.

Their pre-WWE careers have some similarities as both stars arrived in WWE with over a decade of experience under their belts in the business and after stints as the leader of the Bullet Club faction in NJPW.

They’ve only faced off in singles action once on WWE TV, which came in 2017 at the TLC pay-per-view event. Balor was victorious in this bout. Styles had accepted with less than two days’ notice after Balor’s original opponent Bray Wyatt was medically unable to compete.

While speaking with the New York Post, Balor noted that he feels there’s potential for a big rivalry with his and Styles’ pasts.

“I feel like for 20-plus years, myself and AJ.’s careers ran side by side and never really overlapped with each other. The one match we did have (at TLC 2017) was by pure happenstance. I was scheduled to wrestle Bray Wyatt, but I think Bray came down with an illness and was pulled by WWE medical from the event and then we had the match with AJ.

“That’s really the only interaction we’ve had up until very recently. I feel like me and AJ. have a big story to tell and a lot to prove to each other as well. I feel like we have an unspoken competitive rivalry, and I feel like that need to be addressed in the ring. I respect everything that AJ.’s done in his career. I’m very excited that the opportunity of the next couple months could lead us to that singles match with AJ.”

As previously reported, Balor is set to receive a major push under the Triple H regime. At last Saturday’s Extreme Rules, he beat Edge in an I Quit Match.

Renee Paquette to Sign with AEW

0

Renee Paquette – a popular and critically acclaimed interviewer and commentator with World Wrestling Entertainment for nearly a decade – is expected to sign with All-Elite Wrestling, according to several sources.

Paquette, who worked as Renee Young for WWE from 2012 to 2020 and was the first woman to announce an entire episode of WWE Raw, “could possibly debut … this week,” according to one source. Dynamite is in Toronto, Paquette’s home town.

AEW has been working to find women to fill some of its TV announcing roles since the company started in 2019. Paquette – who worked with The Score in Canada prior to joining WWE – is a veteran broadcaster with experience conducting interviews, commentating, and hosting pre and post-shows. She would be the company’s biggest announcing signing since Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone. AEW recently signed Saraya Jade Bevis, who is expected to bolster AEW’s women’s division and fill in on announcing duties.

Paquette left WWE in 2020. She began hosting her own podcast, The Sessions, in 2021 and video interviews on her own YouTube channel.

She interviewed several players for the Cincinnati Bengals YouTube channel and website prior to the start of the NFL season. The Bengals announced on Oct. 6 she would begin hosting her own show, Renee All-Dey for the team.

She released a cookbook in May 2021. She co-hosts Throwing Down with Renee and Miesha on Sirius XM with former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miehsa Tate.

Fightful reported WWE had reached out to Paquette about returning to the company recently, but believed she would begin working with AEW.

Paquette is married to Jon Moxley, AEW World Champion and company mainstay. AEW announced over the weekend it had signed Moxley to a 5-year contract which would include a role as a mentor/coach with the company. Moxley and AEW president Tony Khan were working on a handshake deal prior to the signing. Moxley and Paquette had their first child in June 2021. They live in the Cincinnati area.

Sean Waltman Hopes Chyna Is Honored On RAW Tonight

0

Sean Waltman hopes that the late Chyna is honored during tonight’s WWE Monday Night RAW.

As noted, we have some idea of what’s in store for tonight’s season premiere episode of Monday Night RAW on the USA Network.

One of the planned segments includes four members of D-Generation X appearing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the group being formed.

WWE Hall Of Famer Sean Waltman is expected to be one of those members. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Waltman was asked about what he expects from the reunion tonight. Waltman noted that all members of the group are still around – except one.

That being the late former Intercontinental and WWE Women’s Champion Chyna. Waltman hopes there is some mention of or honor for Chyna on tonight’s episode.

“The only person that’s not with us obviously is Joanie (Laurer) [Chyna]. I hope that tonight, we don’t forget to honor her or we don’t just brush past that.

“As far as the rest of us go, everyone is in a really good place right now. I’m pretty grateful for that.”

Chyna has not been mentioned much on WWE TV in the past several years since her passing, and is also surprisingly not yet a member of the WWE Hall Of Fame.

It will be interesting to see if that cycle is broken tonight – especially with Triple H now seated in a more authoritative position within creative.

Vince McMahon VICE TV Documentary Air Date Changed

0

Vince McMahon will be featured in a VICE TV documentary soon, but fans will need to wait a bit longer before seeing it.

Initially, the project was expected to be aired in October. It’s currently titled “The Nine Lives of Vince McMahon.” The expected air date was planned for October 18 from 8-10 PM ET.

However, F4WOnline reports that VICE is now listing repeats of the first two episodes of “Tales from the Territories” for that slot instead.

It’s unknown when the McMahon documentary will now air, but it’s also expected to be on a Tuesday as well.

The documentary couldn’t come at a more perfect time. McMahon was forced to retire from his position with WWE amidst the ongoing sexual misconduct scandal surrounding him.

Soon after, McMahon retired as head of creative with WWE, passing the reigns to Triple H. Now, McMahon is fully retired from involvement with WWE, ending a legendary run that resulted in the creation of the largest professional wrestling promotion the world has ever seen.

The VICE TV documentary on McMahon is expected to cover his exit from the company as well.

The Rock Talks Roman Reigns, Vince McMahon’s Retirement

0

The Rock is staying busy building his various brands and being a leading man in Hollywood, but the former WWE Champion still pays attention to the company he helped grow.

The Rock has acknowledged The Tribal Chief – Roman Reigns – and recently praised the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and The Usos. He has seen what his cousins have been able to accomplish and is proud of their success as part of The Bloodline.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, The Rock was asked if he acknowledges his Tribal Chief. He also spoke about the unexpected shift in the company with Vince McMahon resigning, Stephanie McMahon, and Rock’s good friend Nick Khan taking over as co-CEOs while Triple H is in charge of creative.

“Of course I do. That’s my family. I think those guys are doing a great job, and I think what an interesting shift the company has gone through this year. Unexpected in many ways, but when unexpectations happen in that kind of way, form, and fashion, especially in that business, you’ve got to have the ability and the agility to pivot, which they have. With Roman, I think he’s doing a pretty good job, and the boys, too, The Usos.”

WWE reportedly wants to have The Rock return to do a match with Reigns at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, but it all comes down to The Rock’s schedule.
