WWE Had Plans to Add More Members to Disbanded Faction

WWE wanted some more additions to a faction that is no more.

There have been some legendary factions in the wrestling business. From The Four Horseman to the nWo to DX and many more, stables in wrestling go together like peanut butter and jelly.

When it comes to this faction, it started off with three close friends and soon a fourth friend joined the party. For the members of this faction, however, four was enough.

Undisputed Era Almost Had More Members

During an appearance on The Kurt Angle Show, Adam Cole revealed that WWE initially wanted Undisputed Era to have more than four members.

“So originally, The Undisputed Era was just supposed to be me, Bobby, and Kyle O’Reilly, that was it, supposed to be the three of us. And they were like, nope, it’s not going to be like a group that expands and we add more and more and more.

And I remember, they came to us with the idea of adding Roderick Strong. And the three of us were kind off to ourselves, and we were sitting there and we’re like I know we said we don’t want anyone else in the group, but Roderick Strong would be perfect because we’re all buddies with him.”

“It really felt like that’s when the group truly started with the four of us but going off of like different ideas that ended up not happening. I know it was discussed at one point that I can’t even specifically think of the name, but adding one or two more people to the group at one point, that was discussed.”

“I know that the four of us were kind of like, eh, we felt like Roderick was like the exception to the rule. And of course, all four of us are good in the sense of if they were like, no, we really want to do this, we’re gonna go okay.

“‘Yes, sir. Yeah, whatever you want.’ But when they were asking us our opinion, it was no, I feel like just this, this four-man group is the way to go. So yeah, there was discussions about maybe adding different members to The Undisputed ERA at one point that all of us weren’t crazy about, and it ended up not happening.”

Only one member of Undisputed Era remains under WWE contract. That superstar is Roderick Strong, who recently requested his release from the company.

Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish are all members of the AEW roster now.

Cardi B Shouts Out Jimmy Snuka On New Track ‘Hot Sh*t’, WWE Superstars Respond

0

Grammy-award-winning rapper Cardi B has long been a fan of the WWE. She recently made a reference to a WWE legend and their finishing move in her new song with Lil Durk and Kanye West.

Cardi B & The WWE

On January 4, 2021, Cardi B received an unexpected shoutout on Monday Night Raw by WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson. The name drop came during a backstage segment between Wilson and Angel Garza.

Garza presented a rose to Wilson who politely rejected it. The WWE Hall of Famer said that she had “invited Cardi B, Kylie Jenner, and Ariana Grande to come here to watch RAW tonight.”

Wilson then added that all three were chilling just down the hall and told Garza that the “WAP” rapper would LOVE the rose. “She’s looking SOOO fine tonight,” Wilson lied, encouraging Garza to go and find Cardi in what turned out to be a dark room where he encountered the Boogeyman instead.

Cardi, who has tagged the promotion in the past, was both super excited and a bit angry, that her WWE ‘debut’ came in such a backhanded way.

Cardi’s tweets received a response from WWE Superstar Lacey Evans which lead to the two having a spicy exchange of tweets, some of which have been deleted.

The theme song for last year’s SummerSlam event was none other than Cardi B’s song “Up.” WWE dubbed the song “the song of the summer.”

Cardi B Shouts Out Jimmy Snuka

In the next layer of Cardi’s relationship with WWE, she recently gave a shoutout to Jimmy Snuka and his finishing maneuver in her recent song ‘Hot Sh*t.’ This song features some of the music industry’s hottest rappers with Lil Durk and Kanye West also hopping on the track.

In the first four lines of the song, Cardi makes the reference and starts the song off with a bang:

“Now this that hot sh*t

Jimmy Snuka off the top rope, superfly sh*t (Fly)

Might get in the tub with all my ice on some ‘Pac sh*t (Hot)

Either way you slice it, bottom line, I’m the top b*tch”

WWE Superstars Respond To ‘Hot Sh*t’

Fans and wrestlers alike took to Twitter to react to the line. Cardi even responded to a tweet from a fan which prompted wrestlers to respond.

Lacey Evans Talks Experiencing Her First Money in the Bank on a Roof

0

WWE Superstar Lacey Evans caught up with SEScoops correspondent Steve Fall for NBC Sports Boston to discuss what is was like competing in her first Money in the Bank match on a roof!

maxresdefault

“It’s a different kind of match, the different style. The last one I was in was in had no fans at all which was wild – at the headquarters in Connecticut. The ladder was on top of this this multi-story building…. so this will be a first like original ladder match for myself … um a lot of different women are in this one …. so yeah I mean i’m excited I’m more motivated than ever like you said my girls are ringside they’re ready to see their mom kick butt and take names and become the WWE Smackdown women’s champion.”

Lacey Evans Believes A Second WWE Evolution Pay-Per-View Is Necessary

0

On October 28, 2018 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, the only all-women’s WWE pay-per-view titled Evolution took place.

The show featured women from the Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and NXT UK women’s divisions. The show also saw WWE superstars and legends like The Bella Twins, Lita, Trish Stratus, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Mickie James, Alicia Fox, Natalya, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and many others.

Since Evolution, fans have called for a second installment of the special live event.

This Saturday, at Money in the Bank 2022, Lacey Evans will be in the women’s Money in the Bank match competing for the MITB briefcase. Inside the briefcase is a contract that guarantees the winner a title match at any time and place of their choice.

Evolution 2 Is Necessary

Before her match on the pay-per-view, Lacey Evans caught up with SEScoops correspondent Steve Fall for NBC Sports Boston to speak about her own personal interest in a second installment of the Evolution pay-per-view.

“I think it’s always necessary. Why, why not? What would be the hurt of it? I don’t think there’d be any hurt of it. I think that all the moms out there now, that are especially like wrestling, I mean you’ve got Ronda Rousey. You’ve got Becky Lynch. You got The Bellas, you got Lacey Evans. You got Bianca Belair, you got Tamina.

Lacey Evans on potential Evolution 2 PPV

“You’ve got all these badass women that are now-

“How about let’s do another one and have all our babies ringside watching their mommas? And then behind that, have all the girls in the world that want to be a sports entertainer behind the babies. And then behind them, you know what I’m saying?

“Like you have all the moms that dream of not becoming pro wrestlers, but just having freaking careers and having to juggle what we juggle. The fact that we get to show the world what mommies are capable of, that we can still chase our dreams and these careers and be badass wives and moms and work hard is cool. So, I’m down for any time we can highlight the strengths of a woman, let’s do it. Especially with having two girls myself,” Evans said.

As of right now, there is no official announcement that there will be an Evolution 2 pay-per-view but many women’s wrestling fans are hoping that there will be soon.

Money In The Bank

This Saturday, Lacey will face off against Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, Shotzi, and Becky Lynch to try and capture the Money in the Bank briefcase.

While Lacey is competing in the women’s ladder match, on the men’s side Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Omos, Sami Zayn, Riddle, and Madcap Moss will be vying for the briefcase as well.

WWE Star Teases In-Ring Return After 19 Months

0

Titus O’Neill has not wrestled for over 19 months but the former champion is now teasing an in-ring return in near future.

The 45-year-old recently had an interview with WrestlingInc. He talked about things such as his role as the Global Ambassador for WWE and more.

Speaking about his in-ring return, Titus claimed that he had been talking to the officials about it. He didn’t reveal the plans for his return to competition, claiming that it’ll happen ‘at the right time’:

“We’re [he and WWE] are talking about some things, I won’t say how soon but it’ll definitely happen at the right time. But I’m very, very committed to continuing to be the best Global Ambassador that I can possibly be.

Every situation that I’ve ever been placed in, in WWE, I’ve always strived to make the best of it.” said Titus O’Neil, “This is the most important role that I’ll ever have in the company, regardless of when I come back to the ring.”

The former Prime Time Players member has not wrestled since November 2020. He lost to Bobby Lashley in a short match during a Raw episode in his last outing.

O’Neil revealed earlier this year that he actually underwent knee surgery and has been rehabbing in the meantime. Though he claimed that he is not even close to retirement.

WWE Changes History – Omits AEW Star on SmackDown

0

Tonight, WWE will host their annual Money in the Bank Premium Live Event which will feature two of the show’s titular ladder matches.

Since 2005, 26 Superstars have cashed in the briefcase, with 22 of those attempts being successful, giving the Money in the Bank contract holder an impressive 84.6% chance of becoming champion.

During this week’s SmackDown, the build continued towards Money in the Bank, but one Superstar tried to rewrite history.

The A-Lister’s Comments

During a segment last night, Raw’s very own The Miz made a trip to SmackDown and had some choice words about the Money in the Bank Ladder match.

In a backstage segment with Happy Corbin, Ezekiel, and Madcap Moss along with WWE Official Adam Pearce, The Miz claimed to be the only two-time winner of the Money in the Bank briefcase.

While The Miz is a two-time winner, capturing the briefcase in 2010 in a ladder match, and again in 2020 by defeating Otis, he isn’t the only double-winner.

Rewriting History

In addition to The Miz, there have been other two-time winners, including AEW World Champion CM Punk.

Punk won back-to-back ladder matches at WrestleManias 24 and 25, and cashed in both times successfully, defeating Edge and Jeff Hardy in 2008 and 2009 respectively to become World Heavyweight Champion.

Given that The Miz included his non-ladder match briefcase win over Otis, then it stands that Edge is also a two-time briefcase winner.

Edge won the inaugural MITB Ladder match in 2005 and defeated Mr. Kennedy during a 2007 Raw to win the latter’s briefcase.

There is also the argument that Carmella is a two-time winner, having won the first Women’s MITB Ladder match in 2017.

After James Ellsworth helped her win the match, the Briefcase was defended in a ladder match on the following SmackDown which Carmella also won.

Original Forbidden Door Plans For The Young Bucks

0

The Young Bucks were originally set to win a big match at the Forbidden Door PPV and become champions at the big crossover event.

Dave Meltzer talked about the Forbidden Door PPV in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He revealed the original plans for the brothers at the show.

Per Meltzer, Gedo wanted to put the IWGP tag team championship on Bucks. The idea was to book a match between AEW and IWGP tag champions for the show.

The plan was changed to FTR competing from AEW’s side instead. They agreed that the duo holding the IWGP, ROH, and AAA titles at the same time was a cool story and the AEW EVPs were on board with this change.

Now that the FTR holds the IWGP tag team titles, there is a natural push for them to face The Young Bucks, with four different sets of belts potentially being on the line.

This is going to be a unique match in the history of wrestling. The promotions can build it as the biggest tag team championship match of all time.

FTR competed in a triple threat winner takes all match at Forbidden Door. They defeated United Empire and Roppongi Vice to become the new IWGP tag team champions.

RVD Reveals His Thoughts On Riddle

0

RVD and Matt Riddle have a lot of things in common. Both the fun-loving superstars have gotten over with the crowd in a short amount of time and people love them for their unique personas.

The former ECW world champion recently had an interview with Jonah Ferstand of Rewind Recap Relive podcast. He talked about things such as Vince McMahon stepping down as the WWE CEO and more.

RVD was also asked about Matt Riddle’s rise in WWE. The wrestling veteran claimed that he likes the young star’s character:

“I like it. I like his character. I think the fans do, too. Especially the same kind of fans that would find the stoner part and the martial arts part appealing. He’s over and he’s a cool guy, too. I met him years ago at a marijuana fundraiser.

I smoked with him in The Grotto at the Playboy Mansion when I met him. I knew him from the UFC, so yeah, he’s cool.” said RVD, “I think his character’s cool and he seems to be having fun with it.”

Apart from this, The Whole F’n Show talked about Game Changer Wrestling and the comparison it draws to the original ECW run by Paul Heyman.

He revealed that fellow ECW original Sabu who was wrestling for GCW at the time told him the same thing a couple of years ago. He said that the extreme promotion felt like the new ECW.

AEW Rampage Results (7/1/22): Royal Rampage, Toni Storm vs. Nyla Rose, Title Match Set For Dynamite

0

AEW Rampage was taped this week following Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite in the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. AEW held it’s first “Royal Rampage” (a 20-person Battle Royal with two rings) to determine Jon Moxley’s first opponent for the AEW Interim Championship.

Rampage Results

  • Brody King won the Royal Rampage to earn a title shot on Dynamite
  • Young Bucks def. Hirooki Goto & Yoshi-Hashi
  • Toni Storm def. Nyla Rose

Here are the takeaways from this week’s show:

Brody King Won Royal Rampage, Will Battle Jon Moxley For Interim AEW Championship on Dynamite

The Blade, Brody King, The Butcher, Dante Martin, Darby Allin, Dustin Rhodes, Frankie Kazarian, Hangman Page, John Silver, Keith Lee, Konusuke Takeshita, Matt Hardy, Max Caster, Orange Cassidy, Penta Oscuro, Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks, RUSH, Swerve Strickland, and Tony Nese competed in the Royal Rampage.

Hangman and Powerhouse Hobbs started off the action. Ricky Starks entered the match next and attacked Hangman. Darby Allin hit a Coffin Drop on Tony Nese and sent him over the top rope for the first elimination. Allin followed it up with a dive through the ropes on Nese. The Butcher entered the match next and beat the hell out of Darby ringside.

Starks and Hobbs were still trying to eliminate Hangman but the former AEW Champion held onto the ropes. John Silver entered and helped out Hangman. Silver teased that he was going to betray Page but was just joking. Max Caster entered the match next and teamed up with The Butcher to beat up Darby as Rampage went to a break. RUSH got in the Royal Rampage next and battled with Silver. Rush planted him with a Suplex before The Blade entered the ring.

Back from a commercial, Dustin Rhodes entered the Royal Rampage next and hit Ricky Starks with a Powerslam. Powerhouse Hobbs leveled Rhodes with a shoulder tackle. Pentagon Jr and Rush battled on the ring apron. Rush hit Penta with a low blow before they both were knocked down and eliminated.

Frankie Kazarian entered as Andrade El Idolo joined Rush in a beatdown of Penta outside the ring. Matt Hardy battled with The Blade and went for the Twist of Fate but it was blocked. Butcher then sent Matt Hardy over the top rope for the elimination. Dante Martin entered next and quickly sent FTW Champion Ricky Starks to the ring apron. Keith Lee joined the match and stared at Swerve Strickland in the opposite ring.

Starks held on until Powerhouse Hobbs made the save. Konusuke Takeshita entered next as Blade eliminated Kazarian. Brody King and Orange Cassidy entered the Royal Rampage as Darby Allin sent Butcher over the top rope. Brody hit Dustin Rhodes with a Clothesline and sent him to the corner. Ricky Starks and Hobbs then eliminated Rhodes.

Keith Lee battled with Powerhouse Hobbs and got the upper hand. Lee eliminated Hobbs but Ricky snuck up behind Keith and sent him over the top rope. Ricky then leaped at Hangman but he ducked and Starks went flying over the top rope for the elimination. Hangman got the advantage on Brody and hopped over the top rope for the Buckshot. It backfired as Brody King recovered and knocked Hangman off the apron for the elimination.

Darby Allin then eliminated Blade and we were down to the final two. Brody King and Darby Allin battled in the corner. King locked in a Sleeper Hold until Darby passed out and simply dumped him out of the ring to win the Royal Rampage. Brody King now has a title shot against AEW Interim Champion Jon Moxley next Wednesday on Dynamite.

Alex Marvez attempted to interview HOOK while he was eating a bag of chips and it didn’t go well.

Young Bucks Picked Up A Win

AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) squared off against Hirooki Goto & Yoshi-Hashi tonight on Rampage in a non-title match.

Nick Jackson and Goto started off the action. Goto isolated Jackson in the corner and Yoshi tagged in. Matt tagged in and hit Yoshi with a few Northern Lights Suplexes. Nick Jackson followed it up with an Escalera off the top rope as Rampage went to a break.

When Rampage returned, Yoshi connected with a Suplex on Nick Jackson. Goto tagged in and leveled Nick with a Clothesline. Matt Jackson tagged in and delivered a Superkick to Goto’s face. Young Bucks took control and hit the BTE Trigger on Yoshi and double Superkicks to Goto. Young Bucks then hit the Meltzer Driver on Yoshi for the pinfall victory.

After the match, ROH Champion Jonathan Gresham had a recorded promo. Gresham and Lee Moriarty will battle two of Tully Blanchard’s clients on next week’s Rampage. Jonathan claimed that he is the best technical wrestler in the world and will prove it moving forward.

Toni Storm def. Nyla Rose

Toni Storm battled Nyla Rose in the main event of this week’s episode of Rampage. Toni battled for the AEW Women’s Championship at Forbidden Door but lost to Thunder Rosa. Before the match, Mark Henry interviewed both wrestlers in split-screen. Marina Shafir accompanied Nyla Rose to the ring.

Nyla dominated the match early and beat Toni down in the corner. Storm attempted to battle back but wound up getting dropped by a massive Clothesline by Nyla. Rose charged but Toni was ready and tripped her up. Toni unloaded some strikes but Nyla shrugged them off. Nyla sent Toni out of the ring and Marina hit her with a cheap shot as Rampage went to the final commercial break of the night.

When Rampage returned, Toni came storming back and hit Nyla and Marina with a diving double DDT off the ring apron. Back in the ring, Toni hit a Crossbody off the top rope for another near fall.

Nyla hit a pump-kick to the face and ripped the turnbuckle pad off. Rose set up Storm for thy Knee Drop but Toni dodged it. Storm hit a German Suplex and set up for another DDT. Toni booted Marina off the apron and connected with a DDT on Nyla Rose for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Marina and Rose attacked Toni Storm. AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa rushed the ring for the save. Rose and Shafir retreated out of the ring as Thunder Rosa helped Toni Storm to her feet. Excalibur jokingly referred to the duo of Rosa and Storm as “Thunder Storm” as Rampage went off the air.

What Happened With Seth Rollins After WWE SmackDown Went Off The Air

The July 1 episode of WWE SmackDown has come and gone but there was a dark match after the show.

During this week’s edition of the blue brand, we found out who would be the final participant in this year’s men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. It ended up being Madcap Moss who defeated Ezekiel, Happy Corbin, and The Miz to earn his opportunity.

We also got quite the tease of a tag team possibly breaking up. Kayla Braxton dropped a potential bombshell rumor that The Street Profits haven’t been getting along.

Once Cameras Stopped Rolling

Once the FOX broadcast went off the air, Riddle and Seth Rollins had a singles match. Both men will be participants in the Money in the Bank ladder match on July 2 in Las Vegas.

Rollins and Riddle have been at each other’s throats in the buildup to Money in the Bank. It’s led some to speculate that it’ll lead to a match at SummerSlam but that hasn’t been confirmed at this time.

For now, it looks like they’re starting a string of dark match and live event battles.

There was also a dark match before the show aired. Shinsuke Nakamura took on Humberto in singles action.

New Members Finally Join WWE SmackDown Faction

A WWE SmackDown faction has new members.

Stables in the world of wrestling are nothing new. The biggest group in WWE today is The Bloodline. Roman Reigns and The Usos have dominated the SmackDown brand but there’s another heel faction looking to make a splash.

The newest members have been introduced.

ma.çé and mån.sôör join Maximum Male Models

Several weeks ago, Max Dupri, the leader of Maximum Male Models, promised he would introduce new members of his faction.

That didn’t end up happening as WWE used the storyline excuse that Dupri had travel issues. Dupri continued to stall on the reveal, claiming authority figure Adam Pearce wasn’t properly prepared for the big reveal.

Dupri finally delivered on the July 1 episode of WWE SmackDown.

The new members of Maximum Male Models are Mace, who is now known as “ma.çé” and Mansoor, who will be referred to as “mån.sôör” going forward.

ma.çé and mån.sôör had been tested as group members with Dupri during dark matches. It looks like they impressed WWE officials enough to be used on TV going forward.

Have you been titillated?

WWE Possibly Teases Tag Team Breakup

WWE may have dropped a hint that one of its top tag teams could soon be splitsville.

When it comes to WWE, the tag team division is thin. Randy Orton is out with a back injury, so the red hot RK-Bro team is on ice at the moment.

The Usos are the top team in the company but their challengers are running low.

While one would think WWE would keep as many teams together as possible, the company may have teased a breakup.

The Streets Profits Splitting?

During the July 1 episode of WWE SmackDown, there was an “Ask Them Anything” segment. Kayla Braxton served as the host.

The segment featured Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and their Money in the Bank challengers The Street Profits.

During the segment, Braxton said she’s heard rumors that Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins haven’t been getting along.

The Street Profits denied the rumor. Dawkins went as far as to liken Ford as a brother.

Many fans and experts have expressed their belief that Montez Ford will eventually become a singles star. He’s certainly been putting in work in the gym and some feel he’s ready to be on his own.

Time will tell if this will lead to a breakup.

WWE SmackDown Results (7/1/22): Battle Royal, Fatal 4-Way, Go-Home Show For Money in the Bank

0

This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown aired live from the Footprint Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. It is the final episode of SmackDown before Money in the Bank tomorrow night.

WWE SmackDown Results (7/1)

  • Happy Corbin won a Battle Royal
  • Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, Asuka def. Shotzi, Lacey Evans, Raquel Rodriguez
  • Madcap Moss def. Happy Corbin, Ezekiel, The Miz in a Fatal 4-Way to qualify for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match tomorrow night

Here are the takeaways from this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown:

Happy Corbin Won A Battle Royal & Taunted Pat McAfee

WWE SmackDown kicked off with the participants in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match in the ring. They were all sitting on top of ladders besides Omos. Seth Rollins began the promo and was immediately interrupted by Drew McIntyre and Riddle. Rollins cut them off and vowed to win the MITB ladder match and cash in at SummerSlam. Seth boasted about cashing in on them once before.

Sami Zayn reminded Seth that he is an “Honorary Uce” in The Bloodline and vowed to win to keep the MITB contract away from Roman Reigns. MVP joined the party and claimed that everyone is ignoring Omos and he will be the last man standing in the match.

Sheamus bragged about already winning Money in the Bank and cashing it on Roman Reigns in the past. The Celtic Warrior added that Brock Lesnar would be more difficult to cash in on. Drew McIntyre reminded everyone that he defeated Lesnar in less than five minutes. The Miz interrupted and said that he deserves to be in the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Ezekiel also interrupted and said he was supposed to have a qualifying match against Kevin Owens tonight but KO isn’t cleared. Ezekiel claimed that he deserves to be in the match ahead of The Miz. Happy Corbin showed up and wanted to be in the match too. Madcap Moss joined the parade of superstars and everyone started arguing before WWE official Adam Pearce broke it up. Pearce announced that there will be a Battle Royal next as SmackDown went to a break.

Happy Corbin, Drew McIntyre, Sami Sayn, Sheamus, and Riddle were the final 5 superstars in the Battle Royal. Riddle won a Money in the Bank qualifying Battle Royal on Monday, there were apparently no stakes for this Battle Royal. Happy Corbin hid outside the ring as Riddle and Sami were eliminated. Sheamus and McIntyre battled in the ring and Corbin snuck up from behind. Corbin sent them both over the top rope and won the Battle Royal. After the match, Happy Corbin pointed at Pat McAfee and taunted him. Corbin was asked backstage if he has accepted the match against McAfee at SummerSlam but Happy didn’t respond.

Fatal 4-Way MITB Qualifier Announced For Tonight

New Day were scheduled to face Viking Raiders tonight but the match never happened. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods cut a promo before the match. Erik and Ivar made their way to the ring and beat the hell out of New Day with their shields before leaving. Backstage, Adam Pearce announced a Fatal 4-Way for later tonight between Happy Corbin, Ezekiel, The Miz, and Madcap Moss. The winner of the match will get the final spot in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match tomorrow night.

Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka won Battle of the Brands, Sonya Deville Slapped Adam Pearce

RAW stars Asuka, Liv Morgan, and Alexa Bliss battled SmackDown stars Lacey Evans, Raquel Rodriguez, and Shotzi in a Battle of the Brands 6-woman tag team match. Becky Lynch joined commentary for the match.

Alexa Bliss desperately tried to avoid Raquel to start off the action but Rodriguez caught up to her. Bliss tripped her up and hit a Dropkick. Liv tagged in and went for the cover but Raquel powered out at two. Morgan connected with a head-scissor takedown and went for a Codebreaker but Raquel blocked it. Shotzi tagged in and unloaded some strikes on Liv in the middle of the ring.

Liv battled back and Shotzi rolled out of the ring. Lacey stopped her from leaving and the two superstars argued outside the ring. Liv hit a dive through the ropes but turned around into a lariat from Raquel. Alexa took out Raquel with a Cannonball and the RAW superstars celebrated in the ring as SmackDown went to a break.

When SmackDown returned, Shotzi tagged herself in and tripped her own tag team partner (Raquel Rodriguez) as she was setting up for a Fallaway Slam on Bliss. Raquel slammed Bliss to the canvas during the fall and Shotzi went for the cover. Bliss kicked out at two and the match continued.

Shotzi got Alexa in the Boston Crab in the middle of the ring. Alexa escaped and tagged in Asuka. The Empress of Tomorrow beat Shotzi down as Becky complained on commentary. Asuka missed with a Hip Attack but caught Shotzi with a boot to the face. Liv hit a Codebreaker and the action broke down into a brawl. Shotzi threw Asuka out of the ring and took a moment to pose for the crowd. It quickly backfired and Shoti turned around into the Oblivion for the pinfall victory. Becky Lynch planted Asuka with the Man-Handle Slam after the match.

After the match, Sonya Deville approached Adam Pearce backstage. Deville slapped him in the face and walked away as Pearce was visibly pissed off.

Street Profits & The Usos Brawled

Undisputed Tag Team Champions The Usos and Street Profits participated in a “Ask Them Anything” segment hosted by Kayla Braxton. Jimmy and Jey Uso were asked if they are fearful of losing their titles and they claimed that they were not because The Bloodline is running everything. Street Profits joked that Roman Reigns runs the whole show, The Usos are just running to the grocery store. Kayla Braxton told Street Profits that she heard a rumor that the team wasn’t getting along but Ford & Dawkins denied it.

Street Profits said that they are hungrier than ever and started talking about The Usos’ family legacy. Jimmy and Jey stopped Street Profits and said that they wanted the smoke. The Usos and Street Profits then brawled to end the segment. The Usos will defend the Undisputed Tag Team Championships against Street Profits tomorrow night at WWE Money in the Bank.

Max Dupri Finally Introduces His Clients

Max Dupri stood in the ring with a spotlight on him and introduced Mace as his first client. Mace walked down the entrance ramp as if it were a catwalk and there were people snapping photos of him. Dupri complimented Mace’s physique before he went backstage. Max then introduced Mansoor as his next model and referred to him as “the heart throb of the fashion world”. Durpi claimed that many more want to join his agency but they cannot join unless they have the qualities of Mace and Mansoor.

Madcap Moss Qualified For Money in the Bank

Madcap Moss, Ezekiel, The Miz, and Happy Corbin competed in a Fatal 4-Way to determine the final superstar in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match in this week’s main event. Moss got in some offense early and leveled Miz with a shoulder tackle. Moss followed it up with a Uranage and went for the cover but Happy Corbin broke up the cover at two.

Corbin sent Miz to the apron but he held onto the ropes. Miz went for a roll-up but Corbin blocked it. Moss then launched The Miz right into Corbin’s groin before hitting Happy with the Punchline. Moss went for the cover but Ezekiel broke it up at the last moment.

Ezekiel went for a Crossbody but Moss caught him. Moss connected with a Fallaway Slam but turned around into a big boot from Miz for a near fall. Miz unloaded some “It Kicks” on Ezekiel and Moss. Madcap ducked under a kick but Miz caught him with a Neckbreaker. Happy Corbin broke up the cover and hit Miz with Deep Six for a two count.

Corbin and Ezekiel traded punches in the middle of the ring. Ezekiel delivered a Dropkick and followed it up with a Clothesline. Ezekiel hit Moss and Miz with Splashes in opposite corners of the ring. Corbin went for a Chokeslam but Ezekiel blocked it. Ezekiel delivered a knee to Corbin’s face and then hit Moss with a Spinebuster. Miz attacked from behind and hit Ezekiel with the Skull Crushing Finale.

Happy Corbin dragged Miz out of the ring and launched him into the barricade. McAfee called Corbin a “big bum” as Happy stared at him. Happy Corbin planted Madcap Moss with the End of Days but couldn’t go for the cover. Madcap sent Corbin into the ring post and pinned Ezekiel for the victory. Madcap Moss in the final superstar to qualify for the match.

Seth Rollins, Omos, Sami Zayn, Drew McIntyre, Riddle, Sheamus, and Madcap Moss will compete in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match tomorrow night. Pat McAfee taunted Happy Corbin to close the show.

Lacey Evans Reveals Her MITB Mindset & What To Expect

0

This Saturday, at Money in the Bank 2022, Lacey Evans will be in the Women’s Money In The Bank match competing for a contract that guarantees the winner a title match at any time and place of their choice.

The field of this year’s Women’s Money In The Bank match includes the following: Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, Shotzi, and Becky Lynch.

So far, there have been six Women’s Money In The Bank matches, all but one being under the pay-per-view titled after the match.

Lacey’s MITB Mindset

Before her match on the pay-per-view, Lacey Evans caught up with SEScoops correspondent Steve Fall for NBC Sports Boston to give some insight on her mindset heading into the match.

Lacey said, “I been working. I’ve been working on the right hand more so than anything. But yea, it’s a different kind of match. It’s a different style. The last one I was in was with no fans at all which was wild, at the headquarters in Connecticut. The ladder was on top of this multi-story building. So, this will be a first like original ladder match for myself. A lot of different women are in this one.

“So yeah, I’m excited. I’m more motivated than ever, like you said, my girls are ringside. They’re ready to see their mom kick butt and take names and become the SmackDown Women’s Champion. You see what I did there? I already named who I’m coming after too honey.”

What To Expect At 2022 MITB

The SmackDown roster member continued to speak about what fans can expect and look forward to at the 13th edition of Money in the Bank.

“I mean, excitement and entertainment. I think WWE no matter what they are given or brought, pandemic, you know all this stuff, this negativity- In life, they bring the entertainment. They find the top females, and men, and entertainers, and they come and give everything that they have. I think that this will be no different.

“I think that stuff like this, matches like this, there’s so much at stake. And, what I like about this one is the fact that there’s so much new women that you really haven’t got to see do Money in the Bank ladder matches or have much time to do anything. So, when you put us all together, there’s no telling what can happen.”

Lacey Evans on this year’s women’s MITB match

“One thing we do know, is that whoever climbs to the top and gets that briefcase, it’s life-changing. They have an opportunity to get in the history books as a freaking champion. So like, it’s just exciting. You just wanna see who’s gonna make it and who’s not. It’s exciting for us and it should be just as exciting for the fans,” Evans said.

The Other MITB Match

Evans will be competing for the Money in the Bank briefcase which has changed the lives of many superstars who have held it.

While Lacey is competing in the women’s ladder match, on the men’s side Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Omos, Sami Zayn, Riddle, and one other competitor will be vying for the briefcase as well.

Bianca Belair & Angelo Dawkins Speak On Scary Fan Encounter

0

WWE superstars Bianca Belair, Montez Ford, and Angelo Dawkins recently had a scary encounter with a fan following a WWE Live Event.

Bianca Belair Opens Up

On June 28, the WWE Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair spoke about the incident on her Instagram Stories and explained how the experience scared her.

Bianca Belair posted the following on her Instagram Stories:

“We drove 20 minutes from the venue, sitting at a red light… a fan just ran up to the window, tapped on the window trying to take a picture. Scared the sh*t out of us…

“I love my fans, but Do NOT FOLLOW me from the venue. DO NOT RUN UP to my car window while I’m sitting at red light at 11pm tapping on the window. It’s not safe for me. It’s not safe for you. I try my best to stay around and sign as many autographs and take as many photos as I can… It may seem harmless and all in fun to you, but that wasn’t right or fair. I was legit scared. BOUNDARIES.”

Angelo Dawkins Comments

Following this situation, in an interview with Adrian Hernandez for 1140 The Bet Las Vegas, one-half of the Street Profits, Angelo Dawkins, revealed that he was also in the car when the situation went down.

Angelo had the following to say about the incident:

“Yea, yea we were in the car. Nah, nah, nah, we were in the car. Nah man, it’s just like we were at a red light. We just gotta be careful man. You don’t know how like people in traffic can be. [inaudible] just run up to the car, especially like late at night too.

We had already been on the road for a couple minutes too, it wasn’t even like five minutes, wasn’t even three. It was like 25, 30 minutes. So, like we were already on the road. So, it was like, ‘Yo, did they just follow us all the way out here just to do that?’

“And this is like, it just creates a not safe moment for everybody you know what I’m saying. You try to get out the car, do it, run up to the car, and the light turns green, and you in park. You’re holding up traffic in the back of you, and like there’s other lanes coming so they probably ain’t gonna stop. So, like you’re also putting yourself at risk.”

Dawkins’ Warning

“I just advise like, ‘Hey, look, be careful.’ If you see us in public when there’s not oncoming traffic or like we’re not busy, just please be respectful, you want like- you know what I’m saying.”

Angelo Dawkins with advice for overzealous fans

“We like it when fans come up to us and want to take pictures or want to get our autographs and stuff, like that’s cool. But, we just also like want people to be safe and not put their life in danger while trying to accomplish that.”

Dawkins is a member of the Street Profits tag team alongside Montez Ford. Montez and Bianca Belair are married, so it makes sense that the three of them would travel together.

Money In The Bank

Angelo will be competing at Money In The Bank, alongside Montez, as they challenge The Usos for the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. At the pay-per-view, Bianca Belair will also be defending her Raw Women’s Championship against Carmella.

WWE Considering Calling Up Another NXT Star For Main Roster

0

The Bloodline could be getting another member if WWE goes through with calling up WWE NXT’s Solo Sikoa.

Fightful Select reported today that as recently as this week, there have been serious discussions about bringing up to the main roster.

It’s unclear which brand he could be on as his brothers, The Usos, and cousin Roman Reigns are technically on both WWE Raw and SmackDown due to them holding the Undisputed WWE Universal and Tag Team Titles.

As previously reported, WWE is also considering calling up fellow NXT stars Sanga and Xyon Quinn. In the case of Quinn, WWE management sees him as the total package.

Sikoa, real name Joseph Fatu, is the son of Rikishi and the younger brother of Jimmy & Jey Uso (Jonathan & Joshua Fatu). He signed with WWE last year.

While speaking with BT Sport last month, Sikoa revealed that before making his NXT TV debut, WWE considered putting him with The Usos on SmackDown. He admitted he was hesitant about it, but they put him in NXT instead.

Solo explained the reason for being hesitant is due to him wanting to stand out on his own and not just be known as The Usos’ brother.

AEW Star Pulled From WWE Raw

One AEW star was set to make a video appearance on WWE Raw but it ended up being canned.

The June 27 episode of Monday Night Raw celebrated the 20th anniversary of John Cena’s WWE debut. A plethora of current and former WWE superstars paid homage to the “Doctor of Thuganomics.”

Even some current AEW stars such as Bryan Danielson and Chris Jericho were allowed to appear to share their well wishes to Cena.

One notable AEW name was left off the tribute show, however.

Mark Henry Denied WWE Raw Appearance

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that AEW personality Mark Henry had shot a video clip for the anniversary show. Of course, that didn’t end up making it on the USA Network broadcast.

At this time, there’s no word on why Henry’s video was omitted from the show.

Mark Henry had a highly praised feud with John Cena back in 2013. Henry claimed he would be retiring and gave an emotional speech.

When Cena went to hug him, Mark lifted him up and slammed him down to the mat for the World’s Strongest Slam. It was a red hot start to get their program going.

Bruce Prichard was said to have been the one to contact AEW President Tony Khan about using his stars for the anniversary show. Khan gave the green light and it was said that pretty much everyone WWE wanted to use was allowed to be on the show.

Logan Paul is Coming to WWE Raw

0

This week, Logan Paul signed a new multi-year deal with WWE in one of the biggest signings for the company in recent years.

While Paul has limited wrestling experience prior to signing, he has a massive fanbase from his work on YouTube and has also proven himself in boxing.

Paul is the latest big-name WWE is counting on to help boost both ticket sales and viewership figures, and fans won’t have to wait long to see him on their screens.

Paul on Raw

Fans may still be taken aback by Paul’s signing to WWE, but he’ll be on Raw later this month.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting that Paul is locally being advertised for the July 18, edition of the red brand which will air from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

There’s no official word yet on what Paul will do during his appearance later this month.

Logan Paul at Summerslam

WWE have not confirmed what Paul will be doing on the July 18, Raw, but it’s believed he’ll have some sort of run-in with The Miz.

As soon as Paul signed his contract, fans speculated on a match with the two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion, who betrayed Paul at WrestleMania 38.

During his signing, Paul wrote out a warning, saying that he is coming for The Miz who later responded on social media.

It’s also been reported that WWE plans on presenting Paul as a babyface for his inevitable feud with the former WWE World Champion.

Tessa Blanchard Making Her In-Ring Return Later This Month

0

Former IMPACT world champion Tessa Blanchard is making her return to the ring later this month.

The indie promotion Hurricane Pro Wrestling announced that Blanchard will be competing at their event on Saturday, July 16 at Ford Park in Beaumont, Texas. The show will be broadcast live on the Title Match Network. Her opponent is Miranda Alize.

Blanchard won’t be the only big name on the show. Steph De Lander (Persia Pirotta), Lady Frost, Chandler Hopkins, Ryan Davidson and more will round out the card.

This is Blanchard’s first matchup since September 12th 2020, when she dropped the Warrior Wrestling Women’s championship to Kyle Rae. As previously reported she was set to be a key player in WOW (Women of Wrestling), with new episodes set to air on ViacomCBS in the fall. However, Blanchard had more behavior issues leading to yet another falling out with a promotion so her involvement with WOW going forward seems to be non-existent, nor was she in the trailer fort this upcoming season.

As a reminder Blanchard’s future has been unpredictable since her controversial exit from IMPACT in March 2020 when other female wrestlers accused her of bullying and racism, something the former world champion denied. Rumors had circulated that AEW was interested at one point, but nothing ever came of that.

We’ll keep you updated on Blanchard’s future.

Bayley Could Finally be Coming Back to WWE

0

In July 2021, Bayley suffered a torn ACL during training, and has been out of action ever since.

Despite reports that she would be back within nine months, that time window has come and gone without any sign of her return.

Now though, Bayley may be back in the ring, and her return could be sooner than you’d think.

Bayley’s Return

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bayley is expected to be back on TV “somewhat soon.”

Meltzer did not specify when that will be, or what plans WWE has for the former Women’s Champion at this time.

Bayley has also teased returning to the ring as soon as tomorrow night’s Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, recently sharing an image of herself hugging the Women’s MITB briefcase she won in 2019.

Bayley and the fans

Bayley’s injury came at an especially bad time for the “Role Model” who got hurt mere days before the return of live fans in July 2021.

Bayley was reportedly injured during a training seminar that WWE had mandated to ensure the Superstars were at their very best prior to the return of fans.

Given that Bayley did not compete at WrestleMania 37 (though did have an on-stage segment with the Bella Twins) it has been over two years since she last wrestled in front of a crowd.

Bayley’s last match in front of the fans was on the March 6, 2020 SmackDown, where she teamed with Sasha Banks to defeat Lacey Evans and Naomi.

Adam Cole Reveals Which Match Made Him Cry ‘Like a Baby’

0

There was one match that made Adam Cole cry “like a baby” during his time with WWE NXT.

Recently, the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star was a guest on WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle’s podcast, “The Kurt Angle Show.”

During the show, Cole revealed that he got very emotional both before and after his final NXT match with Kyle O’Reilly.

“I’m an emotional guy, and I don’t think I’ve ever said this, but I cried like a baby after that match. I’m sitting there, I’m watching this video package before the match, and its pictures of me and Kyle from 2009, and all this Ring of Honor stuff, and us wrestling each other in New Japan, and I know this is my last night at NXT … I was crying before I went out there.

“Getting to do that with him, there’s no one I would’ve rather wrestled or been in there with than Kyle. Just because I got to close my Ring of Honor chapter with him in a lot of ways, I got to close my PWG chapter and then my ‘NXT’ chapter with Kyle. So it was a very special night and a very emotional night for me.”

Cole said the video package before the match, showcasing he and O’Reilly together throughout their initial years in the business, as well as knowing it was his last night in NXT, made for an emotional journey.

Now, Cole has signed with AEW, where he has seen some great success right off the bat. He won the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament after a string of impressive matches.

Unfortunately for Adam Cole, however, he’s currently dealing with an injury that could keep him out-of-action for some time.

WWE Stars “Shocked” at AEW’s Offer to Sign Claudio Castagnoli

0

Several WWE stars were reportedly “shocked” at All Elite Wrestling (AEW) signing Claudio Castagnoli (formerly known as Cesaro).

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that the reason they were shocked was based off of the large offer WWE had made to Castagnoli before he signed with AEW. While this wasn’t a big deal with fans, it certainly was for the talent.

The feeling going around is that AEW must’ve matched or topped WWE’s offer, which came as a surprise considering the belief was that AEW was no longer doing that.

Castagnoli could’ve made a substantial amount of money in WWE, however, the likelihood of a push was very small.

Also, at 41-years-old, Meltzer speculated Castagnoli is likely looking to prove once and for all he can be a top guy before he begins to physically decline with age.

AEW president Tony Khan has noted before that he was a big fan of Castagnoli’s in-ring work and IQ.

Talent Benefitting from Competition between WWE & AEW

WWE AEW

With both AEW and WWE willing to pay out the big bucks for more talent, wrestlers have more leverage now than ever before. At one point, WWE was offering talents big money just to keep them locked away, only to have them be released mid-contract.

The landscape of professional wrestling has certainly changed quite a bit in recent months, with the likes of Cody Rhodes leaving AEW for WWE in a big money deal; and the likes of Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, and now, Claudio Castagnoli, leaving WWE for AEW, it’s a clear indication that it’s a seller’s market at the moment in regards to talent.

All the fun is only likely to continue, with big names like Sasha Banks, Naomi, and Io Shirai also set to hit free agency soon. With both WWE and AEW seemingly financially stable, the madness doesn’t appear to be ending any time soon.
