0

Saraya made her stunning debut at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam tonight in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

She arrived after Toni Storm retained the AEW Interim Women’s Championship by rolling up Britt Baker in a Fatal 4-Way match. After the match, Britt Baker, Rebel, Serena Deeb, and Jamie Hayter attacked the champion and Athena.

Falling in Reverse’s “Zombified” blasted through the speakers and Saraya’s name flashed on the screen. The crowd erupted as the inaugural NXT Women’s Champion made her way to the ring.

Saraya Breaks Silence, WWE & AEW Stars React To Her Debut At Grand Slam

Shortly after AEW Dynamite Grand Slam went off the air, Saraya simply posted “hi” on Twitter and it has already garnered thousands of likes.

https://twitter.com/Saraya/status/1572776113402941440?s=20&t=chT_kDUSmDqWNK6evjWv4w

Former WWE personality Renee Paquette (Renee Young) reacted to Saraya’s debut and wondered if we can all just take a moment.

Sonya Deville and Bayley, Mickie James and CJ Perry (FKA as Lana in WWE) also reacted to the 30-year-old’s return to wrestling.

AEW star Kip Sabian also reacted on Twitter and welcomed Saraya with kind words.

“14 years later. Welcome @Saraya, my friend.”

Paige Exits WWE

WWE opted not to re-sign Paige on earlier this summer and her contract expired on July 7th. The Anti-Diva had not competed in the ring as an active competitor since a neck injury at house show in 2017. She teamed with Absolution (Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose) against Bayley, Mickie James, and Sasha Banks.

She spoke about WWE’s decision to not renew her contract on a Twitch stream in June and said the following:

“I’m appreciative of WWE,” she said. “I really am. They helped me so much they got me a therapist when I had drinking and alcohol issues. They kept me a long time even after my neck surgery, sitting on my ass. I felt like I had so much left to give there as someone who can cut a decent promo and do a managerial role. It is what it is.” H/T F4WOnline

“Massive Chills! Love You” – WWE Hall of Famers React To Saraya (Paige) Debut At AEW Dynamite Grand Slam

0

Saraya, formerly known as Paige in WWE, made her shocking debut tonight for All Elite Wrestling.

Toni Storm put the AEW Interim Women’s Championship on the line against Britt Baker, Athena, and Serena Deeb. Britt Baker somehow got nose busted open again during the match but appeared to have the match won. The D.M.D. set up for for the Lockjaw but Storm countered into a roll-up to retain the AEW Interim Women’s Championship.

After the match, Britt Baker attacked Toni from behind. Serena Deeb joined in on the attack as well as Athena went for the same. Jamie Hayter made her way to the ring and argued with Britt before revealing that their alliance was still strong. Hayter, Deeb, and Britt all attacked Athena and Toni as the crowd in Arthur Ashe Stadium booed.

Saraya then arrived and the crowd went crazy. She came down to the ring and the heels retreated. Saraya, Toni Storm, and Athena stood tall in the ring to end the segment.

The Bella Twins React To Saraya’s AEW Debut

WWE Hall of Famers Nikki and Brie Bella took to Twitter to react to Saraya’s shocking debut in All Elite Wrestling. The Bella Twins were cast-mates with Paige on the Total Divas reality show on the E! Network.

Paige also battled Nikki & Brie in WWE during her career, once spraying The Anti-Diva with tanning spray like the nWo. The Bella Twins posted that they got “massive chills” when Saraya arrived in AEW.

“Massive Chills! Love you @Saraya”

Saraya (Paige) Debuts at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

0

Saraya (Paige) is All Elite as the former WWE star made AEW debut on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite following the fatal 4-way match that saw Interim Women’s Champion Toni Storm retain her title over Britt Bake, Serena Deeb, and Athena.

Following the match, Baker was going to attack Storm. Jamie Hayter came out to join in on the beatdown along with Deeb on Storm and Athena. This is when Saraya made the save by walking out, and the heels got out of the ring. She got an insane pop and told the crowd this was her house.

Tony Khan officially welcomed Saraya to AEW with the official All Elite graphic.

The wrestling world had a lot to say about Saraya’s AEW debut. Renee Paquette, Mickie James, Bayley and Sonya Deville are just some of the WWE and AEW stars who reacted to the historic moment.

Saraya wrote the following on Twitter about her AEW debut and thanked her boyfriend Ronnie Radke for letting her use his song Zombified a her AEW entrance music.

She also posted a photo of herself backstage at Grand Slam before her big appearance.

Paige has not wrestled since December 2017 due to her having spinal stenosis. Her in-ring career ended after she took a bad bump on the back of her neck during a six-woman tag team match. She officially retired from wrestling in April 2018 due to a neck injury.

This past July, Paige announced that the decision to not renew her WWE contract was made by WWE and she wanted to stay with the company.

What Happened With Jon Moxley After AEW Dynamite Grand Slam Went Off The Air

0

Jon Moxley competed against fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Bryan Danielson in the main event of AEW Dynamite Grand Slam to crown the new AEW Champion.

It was a back-and-forth matchup that saw Moxley kick out of Danielson’s running knee and escape the LeBell Lock. Moxley hit a Deathrider on the entrance ramp and got Bryan back into the ring but too much time had passed and The American Dragon kicked out at two.

Moxley reigned down elbow strikes and then captured the AEW Championship by applying the Bulldog Choke until Danielson passed out.

What Happened After AEW Dynamite Grand Slam Went Off The Air?

After winning the AEW Championship once again, Jon Moxley addressed the crowd in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Here are Moxley’s comments and you can check it out in the video below.

“Let me tell you this, I am now once again the AEW World Champion. It is among one of the best things that I will ever do but it is not even near the top of the list. This championship doesn’t define me. Being a good man, being a good father, being the kind of man people can look up to, that is what defines me.

But when it comes down to the best wrestling promotion on this planet. Blood, sweat, tears, passion. This belt doesn’t define me, but I define this belt!”

Jon Moxley Wins AEW World Heavyweight Title

0

Jon Moxley vs. Bryan Danielson headlined the 2022 AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam event on Wednesday night from New York City at Arthur Ashe Stadium with the Vacant AEW World Championship on the line.

The match got plenty of time, with MJF watching from the grandstands and laughing as the match ended when Moxley choked out Danielson with a rear-naked choke.

How We Got Here

On last Wednesday’s Dynamite, Moxley and Danielson won the AEW Grand Slam Tournament of Champions semifinal matches. With their victories, they advance to the finals.

In the opening match of the show last week, Moxley defeated Sammy Guevara. Following Jericho’s crossface submission, Danielson defeated Jericho in the main event. Moxley entered the ring after the contest, and they exchanged looks. Danielson then offered his hand, and Moxley shook it as the show came to a close.

Following CM Punk’s suspension from the organization for a backstage brawl between himself & Ace Steel and Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks that occurred after AEW All Out, the AEW World Championship was declared vacant. Punk was also recently sidelined after undergoing surgery for a torn tricep.

Back in the ring, Claudio hit a big uppercut but Chris responded with a chop to the chest. Chris went for a springboard move but leaped right into another uppercut from the champ. Jericho and Claudio traded punches on the ring apron. Jericho connected with a Suplex off the ring apron and to the floor below as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

When Dynamite returned, Chris went for a Hurricanrana but Castagnoli caught him. Claudio lifted him up for a Powerbomb but Jericho amazingly countered into a Hurricanrana anyway for a near fall. Chris went for the Codebreaker but Castagnoli countered into an uppercut for a two count.

The Wizard booted Claudio away but the champ responded with a stomp for a two count. Claudio locked in a Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring. After the match, ROH Pure Champion Daniel Garcia reluctantly celebrated with Jericho Appreciation Society outside the ring.

The Acclaimed Captured The AEW Tag Team Championships

Swerve in Our Glory defended the AEW Tag Team Championships against The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) tonight at Dynamite Grand Slam. It was a rematch from their tremendous match at AEW All Out.

Keith Lee and Anthony Bowens started off the action. Keith Lee hit a ridiculous Hurricanrana that sent Bowens across the ring. Swerve booted The Acclaimed in the face as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

Back from the break, Caster sent Keith into the turnbuckle and delivered a Powerslam to Swerve Strickland. Max planted Keith with a Brainbuster and tagged in Bowens. Anthony hit Swerve with a Back Body Drop and dropped Keith with a lariat. Strickland caught Bowens with an Enziguri and climbed to the top rope. Lee lifted Bowens up but Anthony escaped. Bowens dodged a Stomp and Powerbombed Swerve onto the ropes.

Strickland accidentally hit his own partner and The Acclaimed knocked him out of the ring. Bowens hit a Blockbuster and Max went for the Mic Drop but his knee gave out. Keith tagged Swerve in and Strickland backed Caster to the corner. Swerve hit an Enziguri but Caster responded with a Back Body Drop. Max hobbled to the top rope but Swerve got back up.

Swerve bashed Max in the face as Keith Lee got into the ring. They hit a shoulder tackle and Powerbomb combo but Max somehow kicked out at two and the match continued. Billy Gunn and Swerve traded words ringside and Billy hit him with the Fameasser while the referee was distracted. Bowens slammed Swerve to the canvas and Caster followed it up with the Mic Drop for the pinfall victory. The Acclaimed are the new AEW Tag Team Champions.

FTR were interviewed backstage when The Firm’s Gunn Club interrupted. Austin and Colten mocked FTR and claimed that they were the younger and better version of them.

MJF Interrupted Wheeler Yuta

Tony Schiavone was set to interview former ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta but MJF interrupted to an insane pop from the crowd. Maxwell referred to them as his “devil worshippers” and called Tony Schiavone a “fat old prick”. MJF told Wheeler that he will never get a reaction like that because he’s a god to these people. Maxwell joked that there isn’t a single man in the arena that wouldn’t let him sleep with his wife but he won’t because he has standards.

Yuta interrupted and told MJF that he is a generational talent but added Maxwell has more catchphrases than friends. MJF said that Yuta has the personality of a pet rock and referred to the Blackpool Combat Club as the “Blackpool Cuckold Club”. Maxwell added that Wheeler can get advice from Danielson on how to be injury prone and scramble his brain.

MJF added that he can ask William Regal about how to pop pills. Wheeler slapped MJF in the face and MJF beat him down. MJF then shoved Tony Schiavone down and Wheeler attacked from behind. W. Morrissey of The Firm showed up and attacked Wheeler before security broke it up.

PAC Cheated To Retain The All-Atlantic Championship

PAC defended the All-Atlantic Championship against Orange Cassidy tonight. The champion dominated the action early and bounced Orange Cassidy’s face off the ring apron a couple of times. Pac launched Cassidy into the ring post and the challenger fell to the floor. Pac flipped onto Cassidy before rolling him back into the ring. The champion climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit Cassidy with a Dropkick for a two count as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

When Dynamite returned, Pac connected with a Northern Lights Suplex for a near fall. Pac climbed to the top turnbuckle and set up for Red Arrow but Cassidy rolled away. Pac hit him with a release German Suplex and the champion climbed back to the top rope. Orange Cassidy put his legs up and dared Pac to jump.

The champion jumped down and Cassidy rolled him up for a two count. Cassidy connected with the Stundog Millionaire and followed it up with a Suicide Dive. Orange made his way to the top rope and connected with a diving DDT and hopped to his feet. Cassidy hit another DDT and went for the cover but Pac powered out at two.

Pac went for the Brutalizer but Cassidy countered into a roll-up for a two count. Cassidy connected with the Orange Punch but Pac grabbed the bottom rope to break up the cover at two. The champion used the timekeeper’s hammer and bashed Cassidy over the head with it. Pac brought Cassidy back into the ring and covered him to retain the All-Atlantic Championship.

Toni Storm Retained, Saraya Is All Elite

Toni Storm defended the Interim AEW Women’s Championship against Serena Deeb, Athena, and Britt Baker in a Fatal 4-Way. All four wrestlers were down after a Tower of Doom spot as Dynamite went to a break.

When Dynamite returned, Toni Storm had a Half Crab on Britt Baker while Deeb had a Half Crab applied on Athena. Toni and Serena traded punches and Storm got the better of the exchange. Toni hit a German Suplex but Britt caught her with a Neckbreaker.

Deeb and Baker traded strikes in the corner of the ring. Deeb connected with a Neckbreaker and then a Dragon Screw on Athena. Serena hit another Neckbreaker on the champion and went for the cover but Toni kicked out at two.

Serna locked a Half Crab again but Britt broke it up with a Superkick. Athena showed off her strength and caught both Deeb & Baker with a Fallaway Slam. Athena went for a Pilediver but Storm blocked it. Athena hit an incredible Codebreaker for a two count. Britt went to roll-up Toni but she countered into a cradle of her own for the pinfall victory. After the match, Britt attacked Toni and Jamie Hayter rushed the ring. Jamie made it seem like she was going to turn against Britt but they attacked Storm.

Britt hit Athena with a stomp before music hit. Saraya (formerly known as Paige in WWE) made her way to the ring to an incredible pop from the crowd. The heels retreated as Saraya, Toni Storm and Athena stood tall in the ring.

Jon Moxley Won The AEW Championship

Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson battled for the AEW Championship in the main event of Dynamite Grand Slam. William Regal joined commentary for the match. MJF was shown in the crowd with the chip as the bell rang.

Danielson and Moxley locked up to begin the match as Tony Schiavone said that they will stay with the match as long as it takes (twenty minutes left until 10PM EST). Danielson dominated the match early with chops and kicks to the chest and back of Moxley. Bryan continued to beat Moxley down as Dynamite Grand Slam went to the final commercial break of the night.

When Grand Slam returned, Danielson had Moxley grounded as MJF enjoyed the match from the crowd. Jon unloaded some forearm strikes to the face and went for a Clothesline but the American Dragon ducked. Danielson hit Jon with a knee to the face for a two count and followed it up with a snap Suplex.

Danielson climbed to the top turnbuckle and jumped but Moxley caught him. Jon locked in a Half Crab in the middle of the ring and then transitioned into an Ankle Lock. Bryan hobbled to his feet but Moxley sent him down with a Suplex. Moxley and Danielson battled on the turnbuckle and Jon raked his nails across Bryan’s back.

Jon hit Bryan with several headbutts and went for a Superplex but Bryan escaped. Bryan shoved Jon and he fell groin-first onto the turnbuckle. Danielson hit a Belly to Back Suplex off the top rope as MJF applauded. Bryan went for the cover but Moxley was able to kick out at two.

Bryan unloaded some punches to Moxley’s midsection and then they somehow managed to trade punches upside down. Danielson locked in the Cattle Mutilation but Moxley escaped. Jon turned Danielson inside out with a Clothesline and went for the Paradigm Shift but Danielson escaped. Bryan leveled Moxley with the Running Knee and went for the cover but Jon kicked out at the last moment.

Moxley battled back and delivered a Stomp to Danielson. Jon followed it up with the Deathrider and went for the cover but Danielson kicked out at two and the match continued. Bryan and Jon traded elbow strikes in the middle of the ring. Bryan took Moxley down and stomped on his face as the crowd chanted “yes!”.

Jon booted Danielson in the face a few times and Bryan responded with some more stomps of his own. Danielson applied a Triangle submission and transitioned into the LeBell Lock in the middle of the ring. Moxley worked his way to the ropes and broke the hold. Bryan climbed to the top turnbuckle and delivered a knee strike to Jon’s shoulder. Moxley responded with a Deathrider on the entrance ramp and rolled Bryan into the ring. Moxley went for the cover but Danielson kicked out at two. Jon applied the Bulldog Choke in the middle of the ring and Danielson passed out. Jon Moxley is the AEW Champion once again.

The Acclaimed Win AEW Tag Team Titles at Dynamite: Grand Slam

0

Swerve In Our Glory (Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland) made their latest defense of the AEW Tag Team Championships against The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) at the Dynamite: Grand Slam event on Wednesday night from New York City.

The match was the second bout on the card. There was a moment where Strickland hit Lee by accident, and it looked like The Acclaimed was going to win, but it was a near fall. Billy Gunn hit Strickland with the fameasser on the floor when the referee wasn’t looking and Caster and Bowens hit their finisher to him in the ring for the win.

The Acclaimed’s Journey

This was a rematch from All Out, which saw Swerve In Our Glory retain the titles, a surprising finish as many fans expected to see a title change.

Lee and Strickland became the champions on the July 13th edition of Dynamite when they beat then-champions The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) and Team Taz (Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks) in a triple threat match.

What are your thoughts on Max Caster & Anthony Bowens winning the AEW Tag Team Titles? Was this the right call by AEW officials? Sound off in the comment section.

Chris Jericho Wins ROH World Heavyweight Title

0

A new ROH World Champion has been crowned.

Chris Jericho was able to knock off Claudio Castagnoli to capture the Ring Of Honor World Championship in the opening contest of the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam event on Wednesday night.

The finish saw Jericho beat Castagnoli by nailing him with a kick to the nuts when referee Aubrey Edwards was distracted and followed that up with a Judas Effect.

Jericho’s Beginning, Castagnoli’s End

This marks the first time that Jericho has held the title as he has never competed in the Ring Of Honor before. Now, he’s the face of the brand that is still without a weekly television deal.

It also means the end of Castagnoli’s reign with the belt that started back on July 23 when he defeated Jonathan Gresham at Death Before Dishonor to win the belt.

The next ROH event has still not been confirmed.

The PWI 500 and the Hardys: How a magazine helped a scared kid after Sept. 11

0

Two weeks after the attacks on Sept. 11, a then 12-year-old Jacob Grondy was on his way to the airport – and he was scared.

Not only was this his first flight, but he was dealing with what many in the country were feeling – fear of flying due to the recent attacks. But a surreptitious introduction with a few pro wrestling passengers – thanks to the just-released Pro Wrestling Illustrated Top 500 issue – assuaged his fears.

Grondy’s flight out of the Raleigh, N.C. airport was shared by the Hardy Boys, Amy Dumas – who wrestled for the WWF at the time as Lita – and Shane Helms on board. They were four of the hottest acts in the WWF at the time and were heroes to a 12-year-old Grondy, especially after they turned what could have been a traumatic experience into one of his favorite childhood memories.

“I was honestly trying to act tough,” Grondy said. “But as we were getting closer to the airport, I was visibly scared. I wasn’t talking at all, which was extremely rare (for me) as a kid.”

On the way to the airport, his dad gave him a copy of the PWI 500 issue to read and keep his mind off the recent attacks. Growing up in North Carolina, Grondy said he was immersed in pro wrestling. As a kid he watched WCW and the WWF religiously and was excited when ECW made its TNN television debut. He’s continued to be a fan well into adulthood. He hosts a podcast called Curtain Jerkin’ on Spotify.

The issue provided a bit of a distraction, but it was who he saw in the airport that relieved his fears.

“I don’t remember anything other than getting to the terminal, sitting down and looking up – and there was Jeff Hardy,” Grondy said. “He was dressed exactly how you would see him on TV. I leapt up in excitement. My dad had a pen on him and gave it to me so I could ask to get my PWI signed.”

Jeff walked Grondy over to his brother Matt Hardy to get his autograph. Matt then said they should get him Lita’s as well. As he walked back to his dad, his dad was smiling with relief, that he wasn’t as scared as he had been when he got to the airport. As he sat back down, he was approached by Shane Helms – who had just joined the WWF after the WCW sale and was beginning his Hurricane Helms gimmick. He said Helms asked to sign the issue, then asked if he could read it on the plane.

“As I let him read it, that’s when I realized that no terrorist was going to take down this plane, Team Extreme wasn’t going to let that happen,” Grondy said.

Grondy shared this story with Jeff at a meet-and-greet a year ago.

“He thought it was pretty cool.”

Grondy and his dad were flying to the United States Grand Prix in Indianapolis. It was the final race of the Formula 1 season, and was the first international sporting event to take place after the Sept. 11 attacks.

“(I) couldn’t tell you who won the race we went to, but every year the PWI 500 comes out I look back at that moment fondly. It was definitely a childhood highlight.”

A Member of The Bloodline Asks WWE Fans To “Respect Our Privacy” Following Crown Jewel Conference

0

The Bloodline are the most powerful group in WWE but have been experiencing some turmoil as of late.

Sami Zayn is an Honorary Uce and has been welcomed into The Bloodline but Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The Locker Room Leader has bonded with Roman in a couple of backstage conversations, and appears to be in good standing with Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso.

However, Jey Uso and Sami do not see eye-to-eye at all. Over the weekend, WWE held a press conference for the upcoming Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match at Crown Jewel on September 5th. The Bloodline and the Honorary Uce were at the press conference to show support for their Tribal Chief. Jey took to social media after the press conference and uploaded an image from the conference with a clown emoji placed over Sami’s face.

Sami Zayn Asks The WWE Universe For Privacy

Sami Zayn and Jey Uso cannot seem to get on the same page. On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Sami squared off against former Intercontinental Champion Ricochet. Sami hit a Suplex and went for the cover but the referee was distracted with Jey trying to get into the ring.

This led to Sami and Jey arguing ringside and Ricochet capitalized on the distraction for the pinfall victory. Zayn recently cost Jey Uso a match as well when he refused to hit Kevin Owens with a steel chair on the August 29th edition of RAW. Sami took to Twitter today to ensure fans that everything is fine with The Bloodline and asked the WWE Universe to respect their privacy at this time.

“Things got a little tense but The Bloodline is doing just fine. Please respect our privacy at this time.”

DDP: Nobody Right Now is Doing it Better than Seth Rollins

0

Nobody can hold a candle to what Seth Rollins is doing in the ring right now, at least according to WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page.

Rollins has certainly proven to be a success, having become a WWE Grand Slam winner, holding a World Championship, Intercontinental and United States Championship and Tag Team titles.

Outside of championship titles, Rollins is a Money in the Bank and Royal Rumble winner.

Nobody Does it Better

On this week’s Raw, Rollins challenged United States Champion Bobby Lashley, but was unsuccessful in winning his first championship in over three years.

Speaking on his Snake Pit podcast, Diamond Dallas Page praised the bout and referenced WWE’s change in creative direction.

“They put on a barnburner. When you go to three commercials and they’re still watching the show… You see the show changing, with more wrestling-orientated, storytelling in the ring. I don’t think there’s a better guy out there doing it than Seth Rollins. I mean Bobby [Lashley] is a beast, he did a hell of a job. I thought they were going to drop it [make Seth the Champion.] By no means do I think Seth Rollins needs a title unless it’s the world title or the Universal title.

“You see the show changing, more wrestling orientated. I don’t think there’s a better guy out there doing it than Seth Rollins.”

Diamond Dallas Page.

“I thought they were going to put him over. There were some great false finishes, some great false finishes during that match. That was my favorite thing of all during the show, and opening up with it. It lets you know that you’re watching a different Raw.”

NXT

Rollins’ success on the main roster came after he became a top name as part of WWE’s developmental ground: NXT.

In 2012, after the then-reality show was relaunched into its own brand, Rollins was crowned the first-ever NXT Champion.

Speaking about the developmental brand, which is now run by Shawn Michaels, DDP explained why in many ways, its better to come straight to WWE.

“A lot of these kids get trained in independent places by guys who really never made it! Never even got to the show, never mind top guy. A lot of these guys get trained by guys who weren’t top guys. And there’s no bigger top guy than Shawn Michaels.”

Steve Maclin Discusses Who He Wants To See Join IMPACT, His Next Goals, Victory Road & More

0

Steve Maclin will compete in the first ever triple threat barbed wire massacre match in IMPACT Wrestling history this weekend at Victory Road. This event takes place from Nashville, Tennessee and airs live on IMPACT Plus.

Ahead of this grueling match, Maclin spoke with SEScoops correspondent Ella Jay about his upcoming match at Victory Road, who he wants to see join IMPACT, working towards his psychology degree, preparing for his wedding with “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo, and more.

Here are some highlights of what Steve Maclin said about:

On Who He Wants To Join IMPACT Wrestling:

I would love to have [Wesley] Blake here, and it would be fun to share the locker room and the road again with him and for him to be able to show the world how good he actually is. Because I know a lot of people say he’s underrated, but he is and he’s one of the best in the world at what we do. I would love for him to showcase his talents here.

His Next Goals In IMPACT Wrestling:

“Obviously, after barbed wire massacre, my eyes are on either Josh Alexander or Eddie Edwards at Bound for Glory. Whoever comes out with that title, that’s what I’m gunning for, and I’ve been gunning for for a while. Personally, I hope Josh holds on to it. That’s, I think, the match that people are quietly talking about and thinking that’s going to happen, and I know at some point he and I will be in the ring, whether it’s for the title or not. That’s the one guy I’ve been wanting to work with personally and within IMPACT Wrestling.”

Working On His Psychology Degree:

“I originally wanted to get into Health Fitness when I first started college, when I got out of the Marine Corps at 25. Then I got into wrestling, so wrestling took over. Then as I’ve been growing, mental health has become a big thing amongst my friends in my area and dealing with that. Once I was let go by WWE, I was looking into jobs at the VA (Veterans Affair Medical Center). I was, ‘all right, well, maybe wrestling might be done.’ I don’t know. I don’t want it to be, but I need to pay the bills and help feed our family.”

“It’s a two way street for both of us. It’s not just one way. So we both work hard together. For Deonna [Purrazzo] and I, I looked into social working and I was like, ‘Oh, wow, that’s something I would like to get into.’ But every application was like, Oh, you need a psychology degree or a degree in something.”

“So ‘Okay cool, maybe that’s my avenue down the road’ because not many veterans at the VA hospital I go to are social workers there or help there. So why not have somebody that’s experienced in it and can relate to you and be able to just sit and talk to somebody to get to know them and help them out however you can? Just be that voice.”

His Favorite Things About “The Virtuosa”, Deonna Purrazzo:

“For how she is in the ring and how she’s so glamorous and is the Virtuosa and loves the attention, I love that outside of the ring, she does not like attention. I don’t know if people know that she’s very–just wants to keep to herself and she doesn’t want to be the spotlight outside of the ring. It’s funny, and I think that’s just one of the quality traits that I love about her, too, just because that’s just who she is.

Victory Road & The Fallout will run this Friday September 23rd & Saturday September 24th from Nashville, Tennessee. The event will air live on IMPACT Plus at 8pm est / 7pm cst.

Jake Roberts Names the Huge Mistake Braun Strowman is Making

Braun Strowman should get more serious now that he’s back in WWE, at least according to Hall of Famer Jake Roberts.

Strowman returned to WWE earlier this month, over a year after his surprising release from the promotion in June 2021.

The former Universal Champion has been feuding with the Alpha Academy so far, and will compete in his first match back this Friday against Otis.

The Smiling Monster

Strowman is back with WWE, and according to reports, will be the top babyface moving forward on SmackDown.

While the Monster Among Men will be a good guy, that doesn’t mean he has to play to the crowd.

Speaking on the latest DDP Snake Pit, Jake Roberts named the mistake that Braun, and other babyfaces, are making.

“Braun, listen to me. Nobody wants to see a friendly monster. Quit smiling. You’re not that guy. So many guys make that mistake when they turn babyface, they completely change themselves. No! The only things that have changed are your opponents. You’re still the beast. The beast is what they love. They just want to see it pointed in the direction of someone they don’t like.

“Nobody wants to see a friendly monster. Quit smiling. You’re not that guy.”

Jake Roberts’ advice to Braun Strowman.

“So many guys make that mistake and for Braun to be such a beast man, to see him out there smiling and asking the crowd what they would like for him to do, oh my God! If I was big enough I’d punch you right in your box. You are a beast and my god! Use what you’ve got son. Show us what you’ve got.”

Diamond Dallas Page added that isn’t new in wrestling, saying that stars who turned on the New World Order in WCW or even join the faction would completely change their characters.

Bron Breakker

Jake Roberts may not be the biggest fan of what Strowman has done so far, but he gave special praise to reigning NXT Champion Bron Breakker.

Speaking about the two-time champion, Roberts said that he and Tyler Bate have been doing a lot of good work in NXT as of late.

“I was glad to see our buddy, the Steiner boy [Breakker.] Him and his tag team partner Tyler Bate they did some stuff. Really enjoyed seeing him.”

DDP also had praise for Breakker, as well as the NXT developmental system that has honed the second-generation Superstar.

“Bron Breakker, or Bronson or Steiner as I call him, because he is a Steiner, with his dad and his uncle. That kid’s got such natural skills. They’ve got some great talent down there in NXT.”

Kurt Angle Teases Involvement with WWE WrestleMania 39

0

Kurt Angle could be walking down the aisle at WrestleMania one last time as part of next year’s two-night event.

Angle recently returned to WWE TV during the August 29, 2022 edition of Monday Night Raw, and was involved in a segment with the Alpha Academy and the Street Profits.

The Olympic Gold Medalist celebrated with the Profits after their match, where the stipulation being that Kurt would have had to join the Academy if Chad Gable and Otis won.

WrestleMania

Angle was able to keep clear of joining the Alpha Academy, but he could be appearing at WWE’s biggest event of next year.

Speaking to the Wrassingh Show, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion revealed that there have been talks about him doing something for next year’s event (via 411 Mania.)

They’re talking about maybe me doing something at WrestleMania.”

Kurt Angle on possibly appearing at WrestleMania 39 next year.

Angle went on to clarify that nothing is set in stone yet, calling his possible WrestleMania 39 “just an idea.”

The WWE Hall of Famer did confirm that if he does appear at WrestleMania he will not be wrestling.

“It won’t be in a wrestling capacity at all. I don’t mind because I can’t wrestle anymore.”

Kurt Angle on appearing for WWE without competing.

WWE WrestleMania 39 will take place on April 1 and April 2, 2023, from the SoFi Stadium, in Inglewood, Los Angeles, California.

AEW

Despite being released from WWE in April 2020, Kurt Angle hasn’t ever appeared for All Elite Wrestling, a promotion many fans believe he would be a perfect fit for.

Angle explained on the show that his loyalty to WWE has kept him from Tony Khan’s company.

“I have a contract with WWE, it’s a nostalgia contract. It’s more of a merchandise contract with them right now. And I’ve always try to keep a good relationship with them, ever since I left them for TNA and came back to WWE.

“I don’t want to do that again, I don’t want to jump ship because WWE has always been good to me.”

Possible Spoilers on Edge’s Return to WWE TV

0

WWE Hall of Famer Edge could be back on TV sooner than fans had first expected if a popular theory about the Rated-R Superstar is to be believed.

Edge hasn’t appeared since the September 12, Monday Night Raw, where he faced Dominik Mysterio.

During the match, all four members of the Judgment Day attacked Edge, taking him out of action.

The Injury

After the attack on Edge, it was reported on WWE’s The Bump that he had suffered a Grade-2 MCL sprain, though it is believed this is a kayfabe injury.

If it is legitimate, then Edge would not be expected to miss much in-ring time, as a Grade-2 MCL sprain typically takes two to four weeks to fully heal.

The Return

According to a popular theory, Edge’s return may come in time for WWE’s next Premium Live Event: Extreme Rules

Many fans have pointed out that on the poster for the event, Edge is featured, alongside other Superstars including Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins.

Typically, WWE avoids using any Superstars on a poster if they are not scheduled to appear, to avoid allegations of false advertising.

Edge is also the only Superstar on the poster without a match confirmed or expected for Extreme Rules at this time.

Extreme Rules 2022 will take place on October 8, at the Wells Fargo Center, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Another Return?

Edge may be back on WWE TV in time for Extreme Rules 2022, but he’s not the only possible return.

In an image promoting Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins’ Fight Pit, a lantern and fireflies can be seen, both synonymous with Bray Wyatt.

Wyat is rumored to be returning to WWE soon, with the belief that he is behind the ‘White Rabbit’ teases fans have seen over the past week.

It has been reported that Wyatt, who was released from WWE in July 2021, has spoken to WWE this year.

Ric Flair is Inspired To Have One Final Wrestling Match, Again

0

Ric Flair could be about to lace up his boots for one last match, which would be his second last ever match in recent memory.

In July, the Nature Boy competed in his last ever match as part of Starrcast V, where he teamed with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal.

Other events at the time celebrated Flair’s career in wrestling, including a roast of the two-time WWE Hall of Famer.

Getting Back in the Ring

Ric Flair may have confirmed his retirement in July, but he may be getting that wrestling itch again.

While speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Flair spoke about the impending in-ring return of Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat (via Wrestling Inc.)

Steamboat coming back makes me want to come back again. I went back up to Lincoln and started training again. What else is there to do?”

Ric Flair on the possibility of wrestling again.

Before Flair’s last match in July, it was reported that the plan was for Ric to face Steamboat in the former’s final match, playing off their legendary rivalry.

It was later reported that the Dragon turned down the idea of facing the Nature Boy.

Ricky Steamboat

Steamboat will wrestle as part of the Big Time Wrestling event at the Dorton Arena in Raleigh, NC on Sunday, November 27.

This will mark The Dragon’s first match in over 12 years, with his most recent being a tag-team match with his son Richie in 2010 as part of FCW.

Steamboat’s most recent singles match saw him defeat Drew McIntyre at a WWE Live event in August 2009.

Sammy Guevara Threatens to Leave AEW Over Hostile Fan Response

0

Sammy Guevara’s tenure with All Elite Wrestling could be about to come to an end, at least according to the Spanish God himself.

Guevara joined AEW in February 2019, making him one of the first wrestlers to sign with the promotion.

Since then, he has become a record-tying three-time AEW TNT Champion, and worked in the stables the Inner Circle and the Jericho Appreciation Society.

Threatening to Leave

Guevara has become a star in AEW, but he may soon be seeking his exit from the company.

Speaking on his latest vlog, the Spanish God addressed his future with the company, blaming hostile fans for his possible abrupt departure (via Sportskeeda.)

Maybe I should go away, maybe this is it for me. I had a nice ride, and maybe I need to go away to get y’all [fans] to appreciate me, ’cause that’s what you guys do.”

Sammy Guevara.

Guevara also made reference to Cody Rhodes, a fellow three-time AEW TNT Champion, who left in February after years of a mixed response in AEW.

That’s what you did to Cody [Rhodes.] While he was in AEW, you hated him and then he went to WWE and you guys love him now.

Sammy Guevara.

These comments come after Guevara teased that things were “coming to an end” in a cryptic tweet.

Despite this threat, Guevara’s recent comments come just one week after he said how he enjoys AEW and is planning to stay.

AEW Departures

Cody Rhodes isn’t the only name to leave AEW this year, as multiple names have ended their tenures with the promotion.

Stu Grayson and Alan Angels have both left AEW this year after working as part of the Dark Order.

In August, it was reported that Bobby Fish’s contract would not be renewed.

Earlier this month, Malakai Black was granted a conditional release from his contract, and is rumored to be considering a WWE return.

The Bloodline React To Solo Sikoa Being Stripped Of The NXT North American Title

Solo Sikoa had to relinquish the North American Championship on tonight’s episode of NXT.

The newest Bloodline member captured the title from Carmelo Hayes but was forced to vacate the title tonight at the beginning of NXT. Shawn Michaels, Carmelo Hayes, and Solo Sikoa opened the show backstage.

Hayes was supposed to defend the title against Wes Lee but couldn’t compete following an attack from Trick Williams and Carmelo. Solo stepped in as a replacement for Wes Lee and won the title.

Shawn Michaels said that Sikoa had to vacate the title because he wasn’t sanctioned to compete in the match last week. It should be noted that Sikoa successfully defended the NXT North American Championship last Friday on SmackDown as well. Shawn Michaels announced that there will be a ladder match in six weeks at Halloween Havoc to crown the new champion.

Honorary Uce Sami Zayn vented his frustration about Solo being stripped of the title and clarified that his jovial profile picture had nothing to do with what happened on tonight’s NXT.

“I’ve just been informed about Solo Sikoa relinquishing the NXT North American Title. The jovial expression in my delightful #NewProfilePic has nothing to do with this news, it’s simply bad timing. Just got off the phone with my dawg & he’s doing well. Bigger, better things ahead!”

Roman Reigns On Rumored Match Against The Rock At WrestleMania 39

The Tribal Chief recently appeared on Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast recently and discussed the rumored match against The Rock next year at WrestleMania 39. The show will air from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 1-2 next year.

Roman stated that he doesn’t book the show but claimed that he will be ready for the match if it happens.

“They keep trying. Everybody keeps trying on this one. I don’t book the show, bro. I’m up for anybody. If it works out, then I’m ready.  “It seems like it’s been that way. WWE Legend On Trying To Contact Vince McMahon: “He Had To Turn In His Company Phone”

0

Kurt Angle recently revealed that he hasn’t been able to get in contact with former WWE CEO Vince McMahon.

Vince resigned from the company on July 22nd after alleged “hush money” payments to former female employees were discovered by the company’s board of directors. He made a couple of appearances before retiring.

Mr. McMahon introduced John Cena for his 20th Anniversary Celebration on the June 20th edition of RAW and retired from the company less than a month later. The 77-year-old announced his retirement on Twitter. He made his first public appearance to celebrate his birthday recently. John Cena, Pat McAfee, and other WWE talent attended the event in NYC.

Kurt Angle On Trying To Get In Contact With Vince McMahon

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle was interviewed by AJ Singh on “The Wrassingh Show” and spoke about Vince McMahon. Kurt revealed that WWE had taken away the 77-year-old’s company phone and he has no way of getting in contact with him.

Angle added that he spoke to Stephane McMahon a couple of weeks ago and she told him that Vince would get in touch with him but that hasn’t happened yet.

“I just talked to Stephanie (McMahon) a couple of weeks ago because I couldn’t get a hold of Vince anymore. I’d imagine that he had to turn in his company phone and that was the only way I could get a hold of him. I had his number and I would call him here and there. I’d talk to him and see how he was doing and I texted him a couple of times after he left and he never responded.

I found out that they did take the company phone from him, so I don’t have any way of getting a hold of him. But Stephanie told me she would talk to Vince and he would reach out to me. I’m still waiting though.”

Kurt Angle On Major Change To WWE Survivor Series: “I Think It’s A Great Idea”

0

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has shared his thoughts about WarGames returning to the main roster at Survivor Series. The WarGames match have been a staple in NXT since 2017. The matches feature two teams battling in two rings surrounded by cages. All Elite Wrestling has introduced their own version of the match called Blood & Guts.

Triple H made the announcement this week that there will be a men’s and women’s WarGames match at the Premium Live Event at the TD Garden in Boston on November 26th.

Survivor Series used to have RAW versus SmackDown in traditional elimination matches. Speaking with AJ Singh on “The Wrassingh Show“, the Olympic Gold Medalist revealed that he wasn’t a fan of the Survivor Series elimination matches and is

“Well, you know, it’s going to be different. It is not going to be the same structure but I believe it will be very effective. It’s new and new is always good. I think bringing anything into the company that revives it and is invigorating, I think it’s a great idea. I never was crazy about the Survivor Series elimination match.

I don’t think it did a lot for any of the wrestlers. The only one that it did a lot for is the one who won. Nobody else really got over in that match. So, I think that this might be a little bit better.

Ricky Starks Addresses Comparisons to The Rock

0

Ricky Starks does not mind the comparisons to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

While speaking with The Ringer’s Cameron Hawkins, he was asked about fans comparing him to the former WWE Champion.

Starks said some fans have even suggested he is The Great One himself but thinks the comparisons are a huge compliment. He also noted that he was a big fan of The Undertaker growing up.

Ricky Starks on The Rock

“I really don’t [hate the comparison]. In fact, it’s a huge compliment to have,” Starks said. “I think there’s a misconception that I hate the comparison; I actually don’t. What I hate about the comparison sometimes is people say, ‘You steal the Rock. You try to be just like …’ And it’s like, I actually don’t.”

He continued, “The Rock was never … the Rock was no. 3 on my list of favorite wrestlers; Undertaker was no. 1. So when people try to discredit my talents because they think I’m trying to be someone else, that’s when I have an issue with it. Yesterday, I went to this event and people are like, ‘You remind me of …’ They always have to put an era of Rock on it for some reason, like ‘the Nation of Domination Rock’ or something like that. But then I get people who say, ‘You just remind me of a young Rock.’ And I go, ‘That’s really nice. That’s really cool,’ because at least that’s a connection that you have.”

Starks will face his former tag team partner Powerhouse Hobbs on Friday’s Grand Slam edition of AEW Rampage.
