Becky Lynch Reveals Her & Charlotte Remain Distant

0

Becky Lynch and Charlotte haven’t restored their friendship.

There was a time when Becky and Charlotte were good friends. The two had been chummy dating back to their NXT days and that hadn’t changed on the main roster before things took a bad turn.

The relationship was reportedly strained after Becky called Charlottle “plastic” during a promo a few years back.

The frustration between the two eventually boiled over on WWE TV with Charlotte not engaging in a planned tug of war with Becky during a segment on SmackDown. This was to promote their champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series in 2021.

Becky Lynch & Charlotte Still On The Outs

During an interview with Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, Becky Lynch said that while she wishes the situation could’ve been avoided, she doesn’t regret how she handled herself.

“I wish the whole thing didn’t go down the way it did. It didn’t need to go down that way but I don’t really have any regrets on my behalf.”

When asked where things stand with Charlotte now, Becky’s answer was short and sweet.

“Same.”

As far as interactions go, a simple “hello” is about all that’s left.

“Sometimes, maybe a nod.”

Becky said she realizes that despite the bad blood, the two are still co-workers.

“We have to do live events often two days a week. So, one has to be able to co-exist. We haven’t had to work together though.”

While there is a ton of pride when it comes to the friendship lost, Becky admitted that the split did leave her feeling emotional.

“You talked to me afterwards and I was quite emotional just especially watching the video packages. I think WWE does such an incredible job. That team is amazing at putting video packages together but to see the journey of where we had started to where we are now where we just hated each other and wanted to fight and wanted to rip each other’s heads off.

“It really got to me.”

Jerry Lawler Returning to Raw Commentary Booth For a Few Weeks

0

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler is gearing up for a return to the Raw announcer’s table.

The usual Raw commentary team is comprised of Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. Lawler will be filling in for Graves, who is taking a few weeks to celebrate his upcoming wedding to Carmela.

Lawler appeared on WWE’s Raw Talk digital series last night and commented on his return. “I am looking forward to it,” said Lawler. “I am gonna be back behind the announcer’s table there on Monday Night Raw because that idiot Corey Graves is getting married!”

Of course, Jerry Lawler is no stranger to the Raw commentary booth. He served as the Raw color commentator for many years, alongside Jim Ross, during the Attitude Era. He hasn’t done full-time commentary for WWE since 2020, but does appear on PPV kickoff shows and takes other assignments for the company.

Lawler tweeted on Wednesday that he’s looking forward to being back at the Raw commentary table this Monday night.

WWE Raw rolls into Detroit, Michigan next Monday night. WWE has already announced several matches for the show, including:

  • Rey Mysterio vs. Veer Mahaan
  • AJ Styles vs. Damian Priest
  • Sasha Banks & Naomi defend the women’s tag titles against Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan

Reason The Miz Attacked Logan Paul At WrestleMania

0

Logan Paul was betrayed by The Miz at the end of their WrestleMania match. Though latest report suggest that it was something the YouTuber himself wanted.

Dave Meltzer talked about the Show Of Shows on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. He also discussed the celebrity guest’s in-ring debut at the PPV.

Meltzer revealed that the reason The Miz turned on him after the Mania match was because Paul had negotiated to become a babyface at the end of his WWE run.

The YouTube star also worked as a face during his involvement in the Kevin Owens – Sami Zayn storyline leading to their WrestleMania 37 match.

However, fans didn’t buy Logan Paul as a babyface and he was booed even in his hometown of Cleveland. This is why he aligned himself with The Miz this time around.

Paul and The A-Lister defeated The Mysterios during WrestleMania Saturday. The Miz turned on his partner after the match, giving him a Skull Crushing Finale.

Logan Paul has said that he would be interested in wrestling full-time if it made sense with his schedule. Though he did not appear on this week’s Raw. There is no word yet on if WWE has any immediate plan to follow up on his storyline with The Miz.

What Happened With Cody Rhodes And The Rock’s Mother After Raw

0

Cody Rhodes competed in his first non PPV match for WWE in over 6 years after this week’s Raw went off air. The showdown also involved The Rock’s mother.

This week’s episode of Raw opened with the returning star cutting a promo. He was later confronted by his WrestleMania opponent Seth Rollins and the two shook hands.

Though this wasn’t the last of Cody fans in attendance got to see during the night. He came out again to compete in a dark match against Kevin Owens after the cameras stopped rolling.

The opponents shared a hug and shook hands before the match began. The bout lasted about six minutes according to fans.

The Rock’s mother Ata Johnson who was at the ringside got involved in this match at one point. She held up Owens so Cody Rhodes could hit the former Universal champion with some chops and a Bionic Elbow.

KO also mocked the former AEW EVP with The Young Bucks pose during the fight. Though he ended up losing the match to the former TNT champion.

Cody has been saying that he has come back to WWE to win the world championship. We will have to see when he gets the opportunity to do so.

Pat Buck Confirms Reason For WWE Exit

0

Former WWE producer Pat Buck has confirmed that he has left WWE after accomplishing everything he wanted to with the company at WrestleMania 38.

The former WWE employee helped put together two of the biggest matches of this year’s Mania in Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair and Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns.

After the show, Pat posted a lengthy statement on social media. He confirmed that he has left the promotion after three years as a producer:

“As a producer/agent, I feel that I have accomplished everything I wanted to do within WWE in the last three years. My endless gratitude beams from working with so many wonderful talents, especially the ultra talented Women’s Division.”

The now former WWE name thanked Paul Heyman for helping him out. He also showed his love for the various backstage crew workers.

Buck noted that he is looking forward to using his extra time to expand his training school and sleep in his own bed more than twice a week.

Before he joined WWE as a producer in 2019, Pat Buck had a run as a development talent with the promotion. He competed in OVW from 2005 to 2009 and also made some main roster appearances.

MVP Explains Why He Turned On Bobby Lashley

0

The Raw after WrestleMania is usually a show of surprises. One such big surprise was when MVP turned on Bobby Lashley on this year’s show, and aligned himself with Omos instead. Sarah Schreiber caught up with the former champion after the show.

She asked him about his motivation behind this move. Replying to it, MVP explained that Bobby Lashley had forgotten who helped him become the All Mighty. On the other hand, Omos needs someone to help him unlock his true potential:

“The All Mighty Bobby Lashley, this force of nature. Somewhere along the line he forgot about the conversation we had in that warehouse all those years ago. See, all I did was help the All Mighty remember what he was capable of doing.

But somewhere along the way he forgot about who helped him get back on that path.” said MVP, “Now it’s all about, ‘What I did. I’m the Almighty, I did this, I did that.’ Omos, he’s in need of someone that can help him unlock his potential. To truly be the monster that he is. I think I’m just the man to do that.”

Bobby Lashley wrestled his first match since Royal Rumble at WrestleMania 38. He defeated Omos in a singles match. This week’s Raw then saw The Franchise Playa introducing Lashley and cutting a promo. Omos came out and challenged Bobby to a rematch. However, MVP turned on the All-Mighty before the match could begin.

AEW Star Takes Shot At Edge’s New Faction

0

WrestleMania 38 saw Edge apparently starting his own faction in WWE. Now an AEW star has taken a shot at the new group of the Rated R Superstar.

House Of Black member Broody King took on his Twitter to react to a picture of this new alliance. He wrote “When you order House of Black on Wish.com”

WrestleMania 38 saw Edge facing AJ Styles in a singles match. The bout took place during night two of the event on Sunday, April 4. The ending of this match saw AJ delivering a Styles Clash on former world champion.

After a failed pin attempt, he went to the apron for a Phenomenal Forearm. However, Damian Priest made an appearance at the ringside. Styles got distracted by Priest for a second. This allowed Edge to hit a spear on his opponent and get the victory.

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw then saw the Attitude Era star cutting a promo about his new partner. The duo also attacked AJ when he came out looking for revenge over his Mania loss.

Reports say that Edge will be leading a faction in the coming times. It will be interesting to see which other WWE stars join him in this group.

How Stone Cold Steve Austin Reacted To Being Told Not To Use The Middle Finger At WrestleMania

0

The best gimmicks in wrestling are the ones that are very close to the wrestler’s real-life personality. Stone Cold Steve Austin is one great example of it. The Rattlesnake cares for the rules off-screen, just as much he does while he is on the screen.

This was evident once again during his appearance at WrestleMania 38. Austin defeated Kevin Owens in a no holds barred match on the show. Pat McAfee, who was in the arena before the PPV saw the Attitude Era star practicing his entrance before his big return at the Show of Shows.

On the latest episode of his podcast, McAfee told an interesting story of how Steve Austin reacted to being told not to use his middle finger during the PPV:

“He was working on coming out. And you know, we’re in a different era now of the WWE than we were then. So I got to watch this dude’s entrance within an empty stadium or whatever. He goes right to that top rope, f**king both fingers straight up in the air. He’s doing his whole thing.

And then I see three producers running over [to him] ‘Can’t do that. Can’t do that’. So he does it again. ‘Can’t do that.’ He was like, ‘Alright.’ So he just put his fist up or whatever. So then as I was watching him [at the show], I was wondering, ‘There’s no way he keeps that middle finger down, the middle finger from Steve Austin is coming at some point.’ And then last night, he had a couple.”

Rhodes said that the decision to come to WWE was easy and he’s signed a multi-year agreement. Cody added that he felt vindicated after beating one of the best superstars at WrestleMania in Seth Rollins. Rhodes joked that he was the “star that left them in the dust”.

Rhodes brought up his father and got choked up as he said he was his hero. A photo of Dusty in Madison Square Garden was shown. Cody said he was hear to live out his dream and win the title. He wanted to win the title and present it to his father but that is not possible now. Cody then said that he may not be able to physically bestow the title onto the American Dream, but he can put it around the waist of the American Nightmare.

Seth Rollins interrupted and danced around on the entrance ramp before making his way to the ring. Rollins got in the ring with Cody and stared at him for a moment. Rhodes dropped the microphone and extended his hand. Seth looked at Cody’s hand and laughed before shaking his hand. Rollins cackled in Cody’s face before exiting to end the segment.

Sasha Banks & Naomi faced Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley in a Championship Contender’s match. Rhea Ripley and Naomi started off the action and Ripley connected with a vertical Suplex. Banks sent Ripley out of the ring and Naomi hit Rear View on Liv for the pinfall victory. Ripley left Liv Morgan behind after the match.

Later on RAW, Liv and Rhea had a conversation. Rhea claimed that she spoke to management and they are just getting a title shot next week anyway. One has to wonder if the challengers will be able to coexist next week.

Ezekiel Interrupted Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens marched to the ring to a chorus of boos. Owens admitted that he underestimated Steve Austin because he has to still be great to defeat one of the best WWE superstars in history. Owens claimed that he tricked himself because he went into that match with a pretty bad back injury. Kevin stated that he inured his back “lifting a lot of weights” and should have gone but the WWE Universe needed him to deliver a great WrestleMania main event. Owens suggested that the loss should be removed from the record books because he wasn’t 100%.

Ezekiel (FKA as Elias) and Owens asked where the hell has he been. Ezekiel said he is not Elias and the crowd chanted “yes you are”. He claimed that he is Elias’ younger brother named Ezekiel. Owens called him a liar and Ezekiel said Kevin must hate himself. Ezekiel noted that Owens lied to Stone Cold and got a Stunner for it. The crowd chanted “you got stunned!” as Owens told Ezekiel that he never liked. Owens gave Ezekiel 10 seconds to get the hell out of the ring and began counting down. Owens then simply left the ring instead of attacking Ezekiel at the end of the 10 seconds.

The Miz Picked Up A Win, Veer Mahaan Arrived

Dominik went for the 619 early but The Miz blocked it. Miz then quickly planted Dominik with the Skull Crushing Finale for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Veer Mahaan made his way to the ring and attacked Dominik. Veer then leveled Rey with a Clothesline and slammed him to the mat. Mahaan applied a Camel Clutch for a bit and then posed over Dominik. Rey Myterio versus Veer Mahaan was announced for next week’s episode of RAW.

Bianca Belair Addressed The Crowd

RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair came down to the ring to begin the 2nd hour of the show. Belair defeated Becky Lynch on Night 1 of WrestleMania to become the new RAW Women’s Champion. Bianca took off her glasses to reveal the black eye she got in the match against Lynch. Belair said she didn’t cheat to get back to the top and told the crowd that they deserved a better champion than Becky Lynch. Bianca added that she knows how hard it is to stay at the top and vowed to beat whoever is next. Belair then posed with the RAW Women’s Championship as pyro went off.

When RAW returned, Ziggler had Breakker in a submission hold in the middle of the ring. Breakker escaped but Dolph leveled him with a Dropkick for a two count. MVP Betrayed Lashley & Joined Omos

MVP made his return and introduced Bobby Lashley. Bobby defeated Omos at WrestleMania 38. Lashley said Omos was the strongest man that he had ever faced and had to wait for him to make a mistake to defeat him. Omos interrupted and made his way to the ring. Omos and Lashley had a stare down before MVP attacked Lashley from behind. Omos and MVP then beat the hell out of Lashley. Omos planted Lashley with a Chokebomb and posed with MVP to end the segment.

Carmella & Queen Zelina Could Not Coexist

Carmella and Queen Zelina came down to the ring and started arguing with each other after losing the Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania. Vega said Corey Graves was a fool for marrying Carmella but is a handsome man. Carmella ripped the microphone away and told Vega that she isn’t going to be one of her bridesmaids. This eventually led to a brawl and Carmella retreated out of the ring. Carmella then made out with Corey Graves to end the segment.

RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro & Finn Balor faced SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos & Austin Theory tonight. Balor hit a shoulder tackle and stomped on Uso in the middle of the ring. Jimmy battled back with an uppercut but Balor shrugged it off and hit a Dropkick for a one count.

Edge & Damian Priest Got The Better Of AJ Styles

Edge made his way to the ring by himself as RAW went to a break. Edge defeated AJ Styles last night at WrestleMania after Damian Priest provided a distraction. When RAW returned, Edge said that AJ Styles faced his Judgement Day at WrestleMania and brought up Damian Priest. Edge stated that Damian Priest tried to be a role model for too long for the sheep in the crowd. The crowd chanted “we are sheeps!” and Edge called them idiots. Edge then introduced Damian Priest as “the man who will be the punishment for the guilty”. Damian Priest’s former name was Punishment Martinez.

Priest made his way to the ring in an all black suit just like Edge and shook his hand. Edge asked “what was it about my pearls of genius that caused you to take your career back into your own hands at WrestleMania”. Damian told Edge that he means a lot to him and the crowd chanted “we don’t care!”. Priest said that used to bother him and it doesn’t anymore. Edge called the crowd losers and they promptly responded with a “we are losers!” chant.

Damian claimed Edge was speaking directly to him with his words and Edge called this the best decision of his life. Edge stated that the night he stopped caring about what the sheep think was the night that Damian decided to take his power back. Edge told Styles that he should back away and think of his family & children.

AJ Styles interrupted and marched down the entrance ramp. Styles brawled with Damian Priest and sent him over the barricade. AJ tackled Edge in the ring and unloaded some punches. Styles sent Edge into the ring post a couple times before bringing some steel chairs into the ring.

AJ set up Edge for the con-chair-to but Damian broke it up. Damian beat Styles down in the corner and stomped him to the mat. Damian held Styles up and Edge leveled him with a Spear as Priest took out AJ’s legs. Priest and Edge then set up Styles for another con-chair-to but WWE officials rushed the ring to break it up. AJ Styles versus Damian Priest was announced for next week.

Alpha Academy faced Street Profits tonight on RAW. Gable planted Montez Ford with a German Suplex as Otis beat Dawkins down outside the ring. Adam Pearce interrupted and said that this is now a Texas Tornado match.

The two teams started brawling and Otis & Dawkins went to the outside again. Ford launched Gable out of the ring and then flipped over the ring post and onto everyone below. Back in the ring, Dawkins hit Gable with a Suplex for a one count.

Street Profits beat Otis down in the corner until Gable broke it up. Gable hit a Fisherman’s Suplex on Ford for a two count. Dawkins hit Gable with a terrible looking Spinebuster in the middle of the ring. Otis hit Dawkins with a Splash for a two count.

When RAW returned from a break, Alpha Academy connected with Suplexes and climbed to the top rope. Gable hit a Moonsault and Otis hit a Vader Bomb for a near fall. Otis brought a table into the ring and set it up in the corner. Gable rolled Dawkins on the table as Otis climbed up to the middle turnbuckle. Dawkins shoved Otis to the floor and then into the steel steps. Montez climbed to the top rope but Gable tripped him up. Gable went for a Superplex but Ford held onto the ropes. Dawkins set up Gable on the table and Ford connected with the Frog Splash for the pinfall victory.

Roman Reigns Closed The Show

Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns made his way to the ring in the final minutes of this week’s show. The Usos and Paul Heyman accompanied the Tribal Chief to the entrance ramp. Reigns raised both titles in the air and winced in pain as he brought his arms down.

Reigns stood silently for a bit as the crowd chanted “Roman!”. Heyman handed Reigns the microphone and Roman said that he knows why everyone is here but they are going to switch things up a bit. Reigns asked Heyman to explain The Bloodline’s success. Heyman noted that The Usos are longest reigning tag champs in the history of SmackDown. Paul added that Reigns has the largest box office receipts of SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and on top for the first billion dollar grossing year. Heyman introduced Reigns as the Undisputed biggest star in sports entertainment.

Roman said he is a man of his word, called his shot, and he delivered. Reigns boasted that he smashed Brock Lesnar and that is the past now. Roman added that he is constantly moving forward and will let everyone know what the next step is this Friday on SmackDown. Reigns asked the crowd to acknowledge him to close the show.

Bron Breakker Wins WWE NXT Title On Raw

0

Bron Breakker is officially a two-time WWE NXT Champion as he defeated Dolph Ziggler in the second hour of Monday’s episode of Raw.

The match finish saw Bron hit his signature powerslam and moments later a spear for the win to become the champion.

During a backstage interview that tool place after Monday’s victory, Bron Breakker spoke about his win. Breakker said that it’s been a dream week for him after inducting his father into the WWE Hall of Fame and then regaining his NXT Championship.

Dolph Ziggler pinned Tommaso Ciampa in a triple threat match also involving Breakker to win the NXT title on the March 8 edition of NXT 2.0. Breakker got his rematch for the WWE NXT Title against Ziggler in the main event of the Stand & Deliver event in Dallas, Texas, but Ziggler retained despite being a huge underdog.

The reason Breakker was given the rematch for the title in storyline was due to his impressive effort this past Saturday. It was likely done to help further boost NXT ratings and with the main title being defeated on Raw which also airs on the USA Network, it should give a further bump for the post-NXT Stand & Deliver fallout edition of NXT 2.0 this Tuesday night.

Breakker previously won the NXT Title from Ciampa at New Year’s Evil in January.

Elias Returns On WWE Raw With New Look & Name

0

Elias has made his return to WWE television, but with a totally different look and name. It happened on Monday’s Raw when Kevin Owens was doing a promo about losing to Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38 Saturday.

Elias is now going by the name Ezekiel. He shaved his beard, has a new entrance, and is now wearing traditional tights.

He said that he’s not Elias, but rather he is Elias’ younger brother. He said that his name is Ezekiel. Owens said he knows this Elias. Owens said he hates liars, but Ezekiel said that Owens must hate himself because he lied to Austin and got stunned because of it.

Owens said he doesn’t like him and never liked him. Owens said he has about 10 seconds to get out of the ring or else. Owens counted down and then left the ring. That was the segment.

A few months ago he was reportedly given new gear but Vince McMahon scrapped the look because he felt that Elias looked too much like “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

Last month it was reported that new vignettes had been filmed for him and the tentative plans were for him to continue being part of the Raw brand in addition to a name change has been pitched.

Former WWE NXT Champions Pitched For Edge’s New Group

0

Edge began forming his stable at WrestleMania Sunday when Damian Priest helped him defeat AJ Styles.

Fightful is reporting that former WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa and former NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley have been pitched to join Edge’s new stable. These are just pitches and not confirmed as part of the group just yet.

At WrestleMania 38, Ripley teamed with Liv Morgan alongside Sasha Banks & Naomi, Shayna Baszler & Natalya, and Carmella & Zelina Vega in a fatal 4-way bout where Naomi & Banks walked away with the Women’s Tag Team Titles.

On the flip side, Ciampa’s match at NXT Stand & Deliver was presented to fans as his goodbye to the brand after losing to Tony D’Angelo. He’s been a regular on WWE Monday Night Raw over the last few weeks and even got new theme music.

Ciampa talked about not wanting to move up to Raw or SmackDown in 2019 during an interview on Lilian Garcia’s podcast because of the schedule and the number of bumps left on his bump card and how the NXT schedule is beneficial to him.

UFC Champ Says Ronda Rousey’s Legacy is “Kind of Ruined”

0

Ronda Rousey is a pioneer of women’s MMA after leaving a legacy as a UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and UFC Hall of Famer. However, current Women’s Bantamweight Champion Julianna Pena isn’t impressed by the legacy Rousey left behind in MMA.

Pena took aim at Rousey on The MMA Hour and issued an open challenge for Rousey to try to finish up her MMA career on a better note after dropping her last two fights and ending her UFC career in 2016.

“Ronda is so old news, right? I think that what’s incredible about her is that she opened up the door and was destroying people in 10 seconds, and became a star because she was demolishing people in the first round, and that’s great — but she got knocked out twice and never came back. So how legit is she?

“She had to go to pro wrestling. And I get that and I think that that’s great. But as a fighter and somebody who is competitive, I know that — deep down — it probably truly bothers her, the fact that she went away off of two knockout losses and never came back to make her name good. If it really truly does bother her and if it gets under her skin at the end of the day to know that, you know, her legacy is kind of ruined by the fact that she never came back and never got back on the horse, then I would like to invite her to please come back — and if she would like to come back, I would welcome her with open arms.”

Rousey left the MMA world following back-to-back knockout losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. Pena believes Rousey is the joke of the MMA world.

“That’s what I’m saying, she’s kind of a joke in the MMA world now, because she’s a — what is the word? — sellout,” Pena said of Rousey. “Like, a little bit of a sellout there. I mean, I guess I understand, right? It’s like, pro wrestling is fake, you get paid millions of dollars, I get it. But for me, for real s***, for like the ‘you’re the real, real deal,’ I would say that that’s in the UFC. And if she ever wants any of that real smoke, I’m ready.”

Pena still considers herself a fan of Rousey who helped put female athletes on the map in the UFC and was impressed with Rousey’s outing against SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair despite her coming up short to win the title.

“I thought she had a great [WrestleMania] match,” Pena said. “I thought she was very good, yes. And this is just from girl to girl as a fan — I’m a fan and I think that she’s great and I’m happy for her, and I think that it’s awesome what she’s doing in the WWE — but as a fan, she either needs to be more comfortable in her own skin or needs to figure out a different attire, because every move that she does, there becomes a wardrobe fix. You know what I mean?

“Wear something that you’re comfortable with. Wear something that you love and that you’re not going to have to constantly be yanking at your clothes the entire match. You didn’t see Charlotte Flair one time touch anything that she was wearing, it was just all about the match. But Ronda’s constantly pulling. So wear something that you’re comfortable in so that you don’t have to do that, because it just takes away a little bit.”

Rousey did tap out Flair in the match, but the referee was knocked down and didn’t see it. Moments later, Flair connected with a big boot for the win. A rematch is expected to happen in the near future.

Cody Rhodes Reveals What He Told Vince McMahon About Stardust

0

Cody Rhodes made his anticipated return to WWE in what’s being referred to as “the worst kept secret in pro wrestling,” this past weekend when he was revealed as Seth Rollins’ surprise WrestleMania 38 opponent.

Rhodes initially left WWE back in 2016 after being subjected to the Stardust gimmick that he has openly stated he was not a big fan of. Since his departure, Rhodes birthed his “American Nightmare” persona, a play on his father, WWE Hall Of Famer Dusty Rhodes’, “American Dream” nickname. After a successful indie run, as well as helping build All Elite Wrestling (AEW) up from scratch, Rhodes decided to return to WWE when his contract with AEW expired earlier this year.

Now, after having proved himself as a top singles star away from the company, Rhodes is back in WWE with a much different outlook on his potential. When negotiating his return with Vince McMahon, Rhodes tells BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani he told “The Chairman Of The Board” he never wants to hear about the Stardust gimmick ever again.

“There wasn’t any true guarantees, there was a request,” Rhodes said (via Wrestling Inc.). “I said I never want to ever see Stardust ever again and I never want to see, hear it or talk about it and it was a handshake and that was all I needed.

“Then the first thing I did in the match last night was a random Stardust reference, I thought what’re you doing? You’re going back on your own strange request, other than that it was complex to get this all together and maybe one of wrestling’s biggest contracts, which I’m so flattered about. I have a child so yeah.

Cody Rhodes topped Rollins in an excellent matchup during Night One of WrestleMania 38, and is ready to address the WWE Universe tonight on Monday Night RAW. It will be interesting to see what’s in store for “The American Nightmare” in the midst of the WrestleMania fallout.

Gable Steveson Reacts to WrestleMania Moment

Former Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson got his first taste of WrestleMania action this past weekend in Dallas, Texas. Steveson was introduced by Stephanie McMahon during Night One of WrestleMania 38 and received a nice ovation from the fans in attendance, however, Night Two is when Steveson got physical. The former NCAA Heavyweight Champion tossed Chad Gable around the ring following a verbal altercation.

Speaking in a WWE Digital Exclusive, Steveson called the experience a “dream come true,” and explained the rush of performing in front of 70,000 people.

“Dream come true,” said Steveson (via WrestleZone). “Hard to describe the emotions that you get, coming from amateur wrestling and collegiate wrestling and Olympic style, to coming to 70,000 people. You don’t get that. You get that with WWE, though.”

As for getting physical for the first time in the ring with his scuffle against Gable, Steveson said the experience was “heart rushing.”

“Heart-rushing,” said Steveson. “You know I’m sitting on the sideline, and I’m like, ‘Am I gonna get called in? Am I not?’ I have no clue, I don’t even know what I’m doing. So I go in there, Chad gives me the look and you know what I gotta do, I gotta throw him. And I gotta celebrate with my team, RK-Bro and the Street Profits too.”

GCW Confirms Dates & Venue for the Collective 2023

GCW has announced that they will be following WWE to Los Angeles with The Collective next year in 2023. The promotion held The Collective in Dallas, Texas this year during WrestleMania 38 weekend as well. The Collective will go down from The Ukranian Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California from March 30 to April 1, 2023. More information will be made available soon.

Pat McAfee Didn’t Know Stone Cold Stunner Was Going to Happen

One of the biggest bright spots of WrestleMania 38 this past weekend was Pat McAfee vs. Austin Theory. Theory was accompanied to the ring by Vince McMahon, who was not pleased when McAfee came out on top and pinned Theory for the victory in front of the jam-packed Dallas, Texas crowd.

After the match, McMahon got into the ring himself and ordered for an impromptu match between himself and the former NFL punter. McMahon ended up defeating an already beaten down McAfee, earning himself a win at “The Show Of Shows” at 76-years-old. However, after the match was over, WWE Hall Of Famer and old McMahon rival Stone Cold Steve Austin hit the ring.

Austin hit McMahon with, arguably, the worst stunner of all time, before engaging in his signature celebratory beer bash. “The Rattlesnake” then invited McAfee into the ring to share a beer, before hitting him with a stunner too. McAfee got the opportunity to reflect on his WrestleMania moment this morning (Monday. April 4, 2022) on his radio program “The Pat McAfee Show.”

When co-host AJ Hawk asked McAfee if he knew ahead of time that Austin was coming out after the match, and would stun him too, McAfee claims he did not.

“Listen, I was sitting there just befuddled with everything that was going on in my life right there,” McAfee said (via WrestleZone). “And I’m not good enough in that business for everything that happened there. There was a lot of trust that was placed upon me, hindsight, that should not have been because I’m in there, like, I should have been given a heads up. I’ve done this three times, like should I have not been given a heads up? Hindsight, like they were really confident in me figuring some stuff out, I guess. But it was cool, AJ.”

As for Austin, this was his second night in a row getting physical at WrestleMania, as he main evented Night One by defeating Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match; his first official match in WWE in over 19 years since retiring in 2003.

Rick Boogs Breaks Silence on WrestleMania Injury

0

Things didn’t go according to plan for Rick Boogs at WrestleMania 38 this past weekend in Dallas, Texas. Boogs teamed up with Shinsuke Nakamura in the opener of Night One of “The Show Of Shows,” challenging The Usos for the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships.

After a back-and-forth opening few minutes, Boogs began a spot where he would show off his strength by lifting both the Usos on his shoulders. However, his knee buckled and Boogs hit the mat in a significant amount of pain. Following some quick on-the-fly changes, Nakamura would take the pin from The Usos the end the match. Boogs was helped backstage as he couldn’t walk under his own power.

The result was a torn quad for Boogs, who will need to undergo surgery to repair the injury. He recently took to Instagram to reflect on the situation. Boogs confirmed tearing his quad completely off his tendon, but noted he plans to come back bigger, better, and stronger. Check out his full statement below.

“From the highest of highs to lowest of lows. Having my beautiful wife with me to experience my first Wrestlemania. Getting the incredible opportunity to open the show! Being able to demonstrate brute strength in front of millions of viewers! Unfortunately, the doctor told me my quad was too strong for the tendon and it was flexing so hard, it ripped the tendon totally off the bone. I’m still incredibly grateful for the experience and for all the love and support. History proves I will come back bigger, better, and stronger. IT’S A MINDSET.”

Cody Rhodes Confirms Nightmare Factory Will Remain Open

Cody Rhodes says the Nightmare Factory isn’t going anywhere.

Rhodes made a spectacular return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. The pyro blasted, the lights went off, and fans went nuts after hearing the words, “Wrestling has more than one royal family.”

Cody went one-on-one with Seth Rollins and emerged victorious. Rhodes’ return to WWE has left many with questions, including whether or not the Nightmare Factory will still be running.

Nightmare Factory Stays, Says Cody Rhodes

During a media scrum, Cody Rhodes confirmed the status of the Nightmare Factory (h/t Wrestling Inc).

“We watch everything, I don’t like to be in a bubble I know how big WrestleMania was, and it would be very easy to be in this bubble because I could live in it forever. In terms of the scope and grandeur of what Kevin Dunn directed [Saturday] night in terms of this beautiful presentation.

“But we know, it’s happening all over, that’s why it worked last night. I wasn’t just in a cave for the last six years, so that’s why it works.

“The Factory will continue to operate and run.”

Cody also said that the gym was never tied down to a promotion. Rhodes has been adamant about the Nightmare Factory teaching upcoming wrestlers how to make real money in the business.

Cody has signed a multi-year deal with WWE. He was one of the founding members of AEW and his WWE return is viewed as a big deal in the industry.

Cody Rhodes Will Address the WWE Universe on Raw

0

Cody Rhodes will address the WWE Universe at tonight’s WWE Raw.

Monday Night Raw the night after WrestleMania has become a destination for big happenings. This year’s installment will be no exception.

Rhodes made a shocking return at WrestleMania Saturday as Seth Rollins’ mystery opponent. He picked up the victory in what was certainly one of the most significant nights in his storied career.

The American Nightmare posted a series of photos on Instagram on Sunday.

The caption reads, “Thank you all – let’s live forever. Looking forward to having a live @wwe mic in my hand for the first time in over 6 years tomorrow. @usa_network”

After six years away from WWE, it will be very interesting to hear what Cody Rhodes has to say about his return and what his plans are now that he’s back.

In addition to a Cody Rhodes promo, Raw will feature the in-ring return of Veer and of course, plenty of WrestleMania 38 fallout.

William Regal Reacts To Triple H’s Emotional WrestleMania Moment: “Job Done Pal”

0

William Regal has reacted to Triple H officially cementing the end of his wrestling career at night two of WrestleMania 38.

The wrestling veteran took on his Twitter to comment on The Game’s gesture of leaving his boots in the ring at the grandest stage of them all.

Regal noted how he and Triple H worked together for 28 years. They went through many ups and downs and helped many people get the opportunity they deserved:

“For 28 years we did our bit together, through up’s and down and some bad but mostly good decisions, to be Pro’s and make the job right. Lots of people got opportunities and made memories for themselves. Job done pal.x”

William Regal And Triple H

William Regal got his first major opportunity in wrestling when he joined WCW in early 1993. Triple H followed in his footsteps when he signed a contract with the promotion a year later.

The two went on to become big stars and have lengthy on-screen careers for WWE, before transitioning to a more behind the scene role in the company.

Regal became a talent scout for WWE. He was an integral part of Triple H’s team in NXT before being released by the promotion in January this year.

The Young Bucks React To Cody Rhodes’ Reason For Leaving AEW

0

The Young Bucks are never shy to react to the happenings of the wrestling world and their responses are especially notable when they are about someone close to them.

One such reply from the AEW stars came in response to Cody Rhodes. The former TNT champion made his triumphant WWE return after 6 years at WrestleMania 38.

Cody later commented on the moment on Twitter, writing that wrestling is a love story. The ever opportunist Bucks didn’t waste any time. They responded to their friend, joking that their story was never going to be romantic enough for him:

Cody Rhodes And The Young Bucks

After leaving WWE in 2016, Cody Rhodes joined The Young Bucks and other members of The Elite. This group took over the independent wrestling scene by storm.

In 2018, this group took on a challenge from wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer and sold out a ten thousand seat arena on their own.

The event called ALL IN later became the foundation for the formation of All Elite Wrestling, the first major wrestling promotion to compete with WWE in two decades.

Though Cody Rhodes surprised everyone by leaving the company he helped build earlier this year. Now the wrestling veteran has returned to where it all started.

Mick Foley Reacts To Hilarious Vince McMahon Botch At WrestleMania

0

The confrontation between Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38 became even more memorable because of McMahon’s botched Stunner. Mick Foley also had his fun with the spot.

The WWE Hall Of Famer reacted to the whole thing on Twitter. He first made a tweet wondering if this was the worst Stunner ever.

https://twitter.com/RealMickFoley/status/1510817636459945985

Foley then posted a video of his reaction to the spot and in another tweet, he mentioned that Mr McMahon’s leg seemed to have buckled before the move:

The night two of WrestleMania 38 featured a match between Austin Theory and Pat McAfee. The WWE chairman was at ringside to encourage Theory for this bout.

McAfee won this fight via roll up. He challenged Mr McMahon to a match afterward, which the WWE owner accepted. Vince won this match with some help from Theory.

As Mr McMahon was celebrating his victory in the ring, Stone Cold Steve Austin’s music hit. The Texas Rattlesnake walked down to the ring to a big applause.

Steve Austin first stunned Theory. The Attitude Era star then turned his attention towards the boss. He offered him a beer before giving McMahon a stunner as well.

Stone Cold then invited Pat McAfee into the ring to share a beer with him but ended up giving him a Stunner as well. The segment ended with Austin alone standing tall.

Roman Reigns May Have Suffered Arm Injury At WrestleMania 38

0

Roman Reigns picked up another huge win in the main event of WrestleMania 38. He defeated Brock Lesnar to become the new Undisputed Universal Champion.

Though many fans noted how the ending of the match fell flat. It appears that an injury The Tribal Chief suffered in the final minutes of the match may be the reason for it.

Reigns was heard telling his special counsel Paul Heyman that something ‘is out’ towards the ending of the title unification match.

Many believed that the Head Of The Table may have popped his shoulder during the bout. Though as seen below, the photos that have surfaced since then suggests that he may have torn a muscle:

Roman Reigns also seems to be struggling to hold both the titles at first after his big win. He did manage to end the show flaunting both the belts.

Neither WWE nor Reigns himself have commented on his injury so far. So it’s hard to say if the injury is serious or if he will be missing any ring time due to it.

There is no word yet on the future of the unified titles either. We will have to see if WWE keeps both the world titles together or separates them anytime soon.
