Kayden Carter & Katana Chance vs. Nikki A.S.H. & Doudrop

worlds collide 1

NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Kayden Carter & Katana Chance defended their titles against Nikki A.S.H. & Doudrop.

The match was kept pretty short with the challengers mostly dominating in a solid match. The finish happened when Toxic Attraction came out and Nikki took them out with a dive. Carter and Chance hit their tag team finisher for the win on Doudrop.

Carmelo Hayes vs. Ricochet

worlds collide 2

North American Champion Carmelo Hayes defended his title against Ricochet.

The match opened the show and it was back and forth with outside interference by Trick Williams. Both starts went for a springboard crossbody and they collided. Ricochet hit a super kick and Hayes kneed him in the throat. The finish saw Hayes catch him with a cradle.

Title Unification Match

worlds collide

NXT Tag Team Champions Diamond Mine vs. NXT UK Tag Team Champions Briggs & Jensen vs. Pretty Deadly vs. Gallus in a title unification bout took place.

The first elimination was when Jensen fell off the top rope and Gallus hit their finisher to him while the second elimination came when The Creeds pinned Gallus with their finisher. Damon Kemp speared Wilson before hitting Jiulus with a chair and laid him out with a back breaker while the referee was down. Prince pinned him.

Triple Threat Match

wwe nxt worlds collide rose

NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose vs. NXT UK Champion Meiko Satomura vs. Blair Davenport in a title unification match took place.

Originally, it looked like WWE would do a normal title unification bout between Rose and Satomura, but since Davenport was the #1 contender for the NXT UK Title, she was added to the bout.

The match ended when Meiko hit her finisher to Belair and Rose kneed her in the face before pinning Belair for the win.

Bron Breakker vs. Tyler Bate

wwe nxt worlds collide bron

NXT Champion Bron Breakker vs. NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate in a title unification match took place in the main event.

Bate was the one to challenge Breakker for the match after Breakker retained his title following a successful title defense at Heatwave.

The match featured one of Bron’s best thus far thanks to Bate. A few notable moments included when Bron hit a clothesline off the top rope then a sitdown powerbomb for a near fall. It all ended when Bate went for a clothesline and Bron speared him for the win.

Bron Breakker Becomes Unified WWE NXT Champion at Worlds Collide

0

NXT Champion Bron Breakker vs. NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate in a title unification bout served as the main event of the Worlds Collide special.

The match was back and forth. It was one of Bron’s best matches of his career as he sold plenty for Bate. Bron hit a clothesline off the top rope then a sitdown powerbomb for 2. Bate hit a powerbomb for a near fall. A chaotic few minutes ended when Bate went for a clothesline and Bron speared him for the win.

Main Event Build

Heatwave’s main event a few weeks ago featured Breakker defending his NXT Championship against JD McDonagh. Following the contest, Bate entered the ring with the NXT United Kingdom Championship. Breakker and Bate held up their respective title belts as the night came to a close. Breakker and Bate’s champion-versus-champion contest was then made official.

After Ilja Dragunov had to relinquish the championship due to injuries, Bate was named NXT United Kingdom Champion. At an NXT UK television taping in July, Bate won the championship.

The NXT UK brand is going away after this show with the expectation that NXT Europe will launch next year.

Mandy Rose Wins Women’s Title Unification Match at WWE NXT Worlds Collide

0

NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose vs. NXT UK Champion Meiko Satomura vs. Blair Davenport in a triple threat title unification bout was booked.

This match took place at the Worlds Collide event in Orlando, Florida on Sunday afternoon. It featured everyone getting plenty of shine. The finish saw Meiko hit her finisher to Belair, but Rose kneed her in the face before pinning Belair for the win.

How We Get Here

WWE set up the match on the August 23rd edition of NXT.  Davenport defeated Indi Hartwell and then cut a promo bout how she was number one contender for the NXT UK Title. Rose complemented Davenport, but demanded Davenport put respect on her name.

Satomura made her NXT debut when she cut a promo about being the most dominant champion and challenged Rose to a unification match at World’s Collide. Davenport interrupted by pointing out that she was the number one contender. Satomura then made the challenge a triple threat match.

WWE holds the fallout episode from this show of NXT on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see what WWE does next. Either way, they put on one heck of a match that delivered.

Pretty Deadly Win Tag Team Title Unification Match at WWE NXT Worlds Collide

0

NXT Tag Team Champions The Creed Brothers vs. NXT UK Tag Team Champions Briggs & Jensen vs. Pretty Deadly vs. Gallus met in a title unification bout at Sunday’s WWE NXT Worlds Collide event in Orlando, Florida at the Capitol Wrestling Center.

The match was the second bout on the card. The first elimination happens when Jensen fell off the top rope and Gallus hit their finisher to him. The Creeds eliminated Gallus with their finisher. The referee was knocked down, which led to the finish. Damon Kemp speared KJ Wilson before hitting Jiulus with a chair and laid him out with a back breaker so Prince pinned him.

Backstory

On NXT TV last week, Gallus defeated Diamond Mine after Roderick Strong caused a distraction, leading to the pin of Damon Kemp. After the match, the two teams brawled, later joined by Pretty Deadly, Briggs & Jensen, and the rest of the NXT locker room.

Briggs and Jensen had held the titles for over 70 days after winning a fatal four-way tag team elimination match, also involving Die Familie (Teoman and Rohan Raja), Dave Mastiff and Jack Starz, and Mark Andrews and Wild Boar for the vacant titles.

The Creed Brothers had held their titles since June at the In Your House special when they defeated Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson).

Jim Ross Questions The Booking of AEW All Out Main Event

0

Jim Ross joins many fans in being critical of how Tony Khan has set up the main event of the AEW All Out pay-per-view event.

World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley vs. CM Punk will be headlining the event despite AEW booking a champion vs. champion match between them less than two weeks ago on Dynamite that lasted three minutes, with Moxley going over.

AEW announced the rematch on Wednesday’s Dynamite. While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, the AEW commentator noted some logical things that need to address.

Jim Ross Voices Criticism

Jim Ross
(AEW)

“Well, I think it’s gonna be unpredictable because I don’t know how you book this card. I don’t know how you have a match on Wednesday and your champion gets his ass whipped like a government mule and then you expect to return it Sunday. Why do I need a return? You just got your ass whipped. So there’s logical things we have to address, quite frankly. I think it’s gonna be a challenging show for Tony Khan to book but it’s loaded.”

Ross also noted that he thinks AEW PPV events are too long as there are 15 matches (4 on the pre-show and 11 on the main card) planned.

“Sitting out there with our group as it is, this is gonna be a 5-hour show. I’m not in favor of any 5-hour show. It’s just too long. Our attention spans are not going to maintain what it needs to be. It’s a chance for a lot talents to clear the deck and make a name for themselves.”

Update on Plans for Jeff Jarrett after WWE Release

0

In May, WWE rehired Jeff Jarrett as their Senior Vice President of Live Events, though his tenure in the role was short.

Last month, it was reported that Jarrett had been released from WWE, and it later transpired that ‘Road Dogg’ Jesse James had taken the SVP role.

Road Dogg (who ironically began his WWE career as the ‘roadie’ for Jarrett) was released in January 2022 but rehired for the SVP role.

Jarrett After WWE

With Jarrett now out of WWE, the Hall of Famer/former WCW World Heavyweight Champion is now able to appear elsewhere.

During a recent episode of his ‘My World’ podcast, Jarrett and co-host Conrad Thompson announced that they will be going to Mexico in a few weeks.

While the pair did not specify the reason for the trip, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that they could be there to collaborate with AAA.

It was noted that Jarrett could appear at some of the company’s events in the future, but no deal between him and AAA has been confirmed.

Thompson did clarify that neither he nor Jarrett are making the trip to start their own promotion.

Jarrett and AAA

Jarrett is no stranger to AAA, having appeared for the promotion multiple times over the years.

In 2005, AAA promoters called police to a show at the El Toreo arena in Mexico City, fearing that a full-scale riot was going to happen.

Jarrett had infuriated fans by throwing tortillas into the audience and fans rushed into the ring multiple times during the main event.

Double-J became AAA Mega Champion in 2019 and had been feuding with Latin Lover recently until the feud was dropped due to Jarrett’s WWE commitments.

A “Serious” Offer has been Made to Bray Wyatt – Not by WWE

0

WWE shocked fans in July 2021 when they decided to release Bray Wyatt, despite the former Universal Champion being over with the audience.

Wyatt’s reinvention as ‘The Fiend’ in 2019 had made the once-fledgling Superstar into one of the most unique characters fans had ever seen in the company.

Bray hasn’t wrestled since his controversial release, making his most recent match his WrestleMania 37 loss to Randy Orton.

The Offer

Bray has vowed that he is not done wrestling, but when his next match will be remains uncertain.

In a new report from Fightful Select, there is reportedly a standing offer from a “startup wrestling company” for Wyatt to join.

A source who spoke to Fightful said the offer was “serious” but there is no word on whether Wyatt is interested.

It was heavily implied that the offer came from Freddie Prinze Jr. who announced earlier this year that he is starting his own promotion.

It was also mentioned in Fightful’s report that AEW had “at least some interest” in signing Wyatt.

Bray and Freddie

Bray Wyatt may soon be working for Freddie Prinze Jr. in the She’s All That actor’s new promotion.

During a June episode of his ‘Wrestling with Freddie’ podcast, Prinze said that he has revenue for a “three-year plan.”

Prinze also declared that he plans for his promotion to be a SAG show, meaning employees will be members of the Screen Actors Guild union.

Being part of SAG will make sure employees are entitled to all the insurance and medical benefits and retirement plans.

However, attempts to unionize in wrestling in the past have failed and being a SAG member could harm a wrestler’s future bookings.

Watch the Commercial for Kevin Nash’s Jackknife Cannabis

0

Getting Jackknifed just took on a whole new meaning. WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash recently partnered up with Hyman Cannabis. He’s got his very own strain named Jackknife after his signature powerbomb finishing move. The Jacknife strain is a hybrid of Creamsicle and, Soñando, one of Hyman’s proprietary genetics.

Nash has spoken about being an occasional smoker and uses a THC/CBD topical rub on his body to minimize pain and inflammation. In a press release sent in to SEScoops, Nash says,

“I’m familiar with cannabis, and the one thing I look for when I’m consuming marijuana is quality. Hyman cultivators have achieved a level of quality that is like nothing else I’ve tried. The clarity, potency, and their entire internal process is why I chose them – everything Hyman does is by design.”

– Kevin Nash

Jackknife was released this past weekend in Michigan. It is available in a 3.5G pre-pack (eighth) and 1G Handcraft (glass tip joint).

Nash just wrapped up a two-day signing tour that included stops at 10 Michigan marijuana dispensaries. He also recently filmed a commercial to promote the launch.

As seen below, a modified ‘ice cream truck’ tears through the streets of a residential neighborhood at a high speed. The local residents are curious about the truck and stops what they’re doing to follow it. As the truck stops, the locals browse the Hyman Cannabis offerings depicted on the side of the van.

Smoke billows out of the interior of the truck as Kevin Nash emerges to ask, “Who wants a treat?” Hopefully someone else is driving. Check it out:

Tony Khan Reveals How Much Money AEW Will Make In 2022

0

Tony Khan touts the financial success of AEW ahead of the promotion’s fourth-ever ALL OUT pay-per-view later this evening.

The company president spoke with Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio about a wide range of topics, most notably how he believes AEW is hitting these heights at a perfect time. One of the points Khan makes is that there hasn’t been another major alternative to the industry leader, WWE, in quite some time.

“We have a chance to hit these heights at the perfect time. I would say, the success we’ve had has been so great. The way the business is going right now…this is the first time there have been two wrestling companies that have the ability to be the number one show that night on cable and two wrestling companies that are grossing the kind of money.”

AEW Grossing Over $100 Million In 2022

While Khan is proud of the growth of AEW since their launch in 2019 he is certainly aware that they are still nowhere near WWE’s profits. However, he does reveal that this year AEW will gross over $100 million dollars, which includes a $1 Million Dollar gate for tonight’s ALL OUT.

“I’m not grossing a billion dollars, but I’m gonna gross over $100 million this year. That’s pretty unprecedented and it’s been over 20 years since anybody is doing that. To me, success is sustaining it.”

Elsewhere in the interview Khan discussed the reports of backstage drama in AEW, but he remained optimistic that people will keep things professional and not let it affect business. He also talked in great length about the ALL OUT card, which you can see here.

Sasha Banks Says CBD Helped Her Kick Drinking and Overcome Depression

0

The glory of pro-wrestling does not come without its cons. For decades wrestlers have been battling severe injuries and long-lasting affects of taking bumps on a weekly basis, which requires them to take certain measures to ease their pain. While many have been able to manage this safely, there are just as many instances where tragedy has struck.

This was the topic of conversation for top industry superstar Sasha Banks (currently a free agent), who has gone through her own battles with pain, anxiety, and depression in the past.

The Boss chatted with “Cannabis & Tech Today” Magazine about her love of CBD, and how it has helped her feel like her old self again.

Being A Wrestler Is Draining

Banks begins by discussing how difficult it is to be a professional wrestler. Just a few years ago, drinking every day and she was taking ibuprofen. CBD helped her break the cycle of alcohol and pain medication. It also alleviated her anxiety.

“Being a professional wrestler, it’s so draining. It’s so, so hard. We’re never home. We’re always banged up and always hurt. And once I got introduced to CBD my life just fully, fully changed. I noticed that anxiety I would get, once I took CBD it all just dissipated. I started to feel like myself again. I started [working] with Manny and Abby, and the more that we learned and grew, we just wanted to create our own project.”

Later the former multi-time women’s champion says that she introduced CBD to several other stars backstage to great reviews.

“And there are so many people in the locker room that I gave CBD to and they’re just like, “Wait, what is this? Oh my God, this makes me feel good.” So you see, not even the culture in wrestling, the culture all over the world is changing.”

Banks has been absent from WWE programming for several months following her and Naomi’s very public departure from the company due to booking disagreements with the now retired Vince McMahon. Multiple reports have recently surfaced indicating that the duo are headed back to WWE, with a big hint being that their roster pages have been restored on the WWE website.

The Stage is Set for MJF To Ruin CM Punk at AEW All Out

0

The stage is nearly set for MJF to make a triumphant return to AEW. We last saw the brash Long island loudmouth on the June 1st edition of AEW Dynamite. This was an eventful show. Just days after losing his former enforcer Wardlow at Double or Nothing, MJF cut a “pipe bomb” promo that people will be talking about for years to come. That was also the night CM Punk broke his foot. The injury kept Punk of action for months and changed the course of AEW storylines. After some jarring detours, we’re almost back on track.

MJF hasn’t been heard from since that fateful night. Punk recently returned to action, perhaps too soon. During his absence, Jon Moxley became the Interim AEW World Champion. The belts were unified on the August 24th edition of Dynamite. Moxley steamrolled Punk in a matter of minutes.

Punk gets a shot at redemption tonight at All Out. It’s a chance for him to make things right in front of his hometown crowd and truly begin an AEW World title reign that was knocked off course due to injury three months ago. It’s also a golden opportunity for MJF to storm back into the picture and renew his blood feud with his most detested rival to date.

MJF’s Golden Opportunity

Punk and MJF had a bitter feud earlier this year, which seems like ages ago after all that’s transpired since. Punk was victorious when they clashed at Revolution. Their dog collar match was a bloody affair, as advertised. MJF lost that night, but he never lost sight of humbling and humiliating Punk.

MJF knows Punk on the verge of sweet redemption. Winning the AEW World Championship from Hangman Page was a big deal, but the stakes are much higher this time. Punk will have to muster everything he’s got to defeat Moxley.

If he does so, it will be a euphoric moment for 43 year old. He’s questioned himself, he’s wondered if “his 100%” is enough to be the best anymore. He’ll be on top of the world if he regains the title from Moxley. And if he does – it’s the perfect opportunity for MJF to emerge and shatter Punk’s world.

Tony Khan has said the AEW roster will be as strong as it’s ever been after All Out. You can’t really get there without your hottest young prospect back in the fold. MJF hates CM Punk. He’s hell-bent on becoming AEW Champion.

We’re also just a few weeks away from Grand Slam, the upcoming stadium show that will be held just miles away from where MJF grew up. AEW may have other plans in the works, but you’d be hard pressed to book a better scenario that maximizes the impact of MJF’s return and catapults him to where he belongs.

Triple H Provides ‘Spoiler’ On Bad Bunny’s WWE Future

0

Triple H has provided a ‘spoiler’ regarding Bad Bunny’s future in WWE after receiving praise for his Royal Rumble performance. The Game hosted the press conference after the Clash At The Castle PPV. He first offered some praise to the WWE universe.

When asked about the WWE future of the music star, the former world champion noted how Bunny is someone who put in a lot of effort into his performances. Triple H then revealed that he will be meeting with Bad Bunny ‘very very soon’:

“A little bit of a spoiler. He and I are gonna have a conversation very, very soon. It’s already scheduled. We’re gonna go and see what’s available. [He’s The] biggest music star in the world. So let’s go.”

– Triple H

Bad Bunny made his wrestling debut during the WrestleMania 37 event. He teamed up with Damian Priest to defeat The Miz and John Morrison. He then entered the Royal Rumble earlier this year and received praise for both performances.

While Triple H didn’t reveal much detail about the next WWE appearance of Bad Bunny, WWE has the Crown Jewel event scheduled for November 4. It’s possible that the music star will be brought in for the show.

Chris Jericho Recalls His Most Embarrassing Moment In The Ring

0

Chris Jericho has been at the top of the wrestling world for over 30 years. He has been part of many incredible moments throughout his career. As is the nature of any live sport however, Jericho has also had his fair share of embarrassing moments.

The former AEW world champion was recently interviewed by Josh Martinez. During the talk, he was asked about his most embarring moment in the ring. Chris Jericho recalled the time he was wrestling with braces:

“One time I was working with Cesaro in Las Vegas on a non-televised live event, a House Show if you will. I was wearing braces. As I climbed the top rope to do my comeback, my brace got caught in the top rope. I literally fell into the ring.”

‘Over And Over Again’: Chris Jericho

Though this wasn’t the end of it for Y2J. He detailed how Vince McMahon kept the memory of the incident alive, making the whole situation worse for Chris Jericho:

“Well, that’s embarrassing enough as it is, but for some reason, Vince McMahon got a clip of it. [He] proceeded to show it for the next like four weeks every time everyone’s in the arena going over their stuff before the show. He just thought it’d be great to just show it over and over and over again.

I’m like ‘I’m gonna slap that stupid face of yours for showing this over and over again.’ [He’s like] ‘Ahaha, it’s so funny.’ Maybe funny for you, not funny for me, and only 3000 people saw it until you kept playing it over and over and over again.”

Jon Moxley Takes Shots at CM Punk Ahead of Title Match at AEW All Out

0

Jon Moxley defeated CM Punk on the August 24th edition of AEW Dynamite in shocking fashion.

CM Punk became the AEW Champion by defeating Hangman Adam Page at Double or Nothing. However, a broken foot would keep Punk out of action for a couple of months and Jon Moxley became Interim AEW Champion. The belts were unified on August 24th after Moxley defeated CM Punk with ease.

It led to Punk questioning himself the following week but getting the pump-up speech he needed from long-time friend and AEW producer, Ace Steel. Earlier in the night, Jon left an open contract in the ring and Ace grabbed it.

Punk signed the contract and fired up the crowd in the NOW Arena. Moxley will defend the AEW Championship against CM Punk this Sunday at All Out.

Jon Moxley Warns CM Punk Ahead of All Out

AEW Champion Jon Moxley spoke about being a father and the lessons he learned along the way in a backstage promo ahead of the title match tomorrow night. Jon noted that he started wrestling when he was 11 years old and he learned that he can have anything he wants as long as he’s willing to work harder than everyone.

“This Sunday I’m wrestling Chicago-made CM Punk, the little punk rock kid from Chicago! People say that me and CM Punk are a lot alike. Sure we have traveled some of the same roads and had some of the same rivals. We’ve even won some of the same championships. But no, me and CM Punk are nothing alike.”

Moxley continued and explained one fundamental difference he has with the challenger at All Out:

“There is one fundamental difference between me and CM Punk for example. Say I had a broken foot, not like a CM Punk broken foot, but say you had a wooden block and a sledgehammer and did a Kathy Bates from Misery on my foot right now. I’d have a broken foot going into Sunday, you think I’d care? Even a little bit?”

Moxley added that Punk has an ego that always needs attention and claimed that the Chicago crowd will not bother him at at all. The AEW Champion said that this all could wind up being a good story after all at All Out.

“This could be a great story. I’m gonna give you a chance, you say you are the heartbeat of Chicago, I’m the heartbeat of this business. When guys get in the ring with me, we find out what they are made of. I’m gonna give you a chance to be better than you’ve ever been, more than you ever have been.

I’m gonna give you a chance on Sunday to be that guy that you’ve been pretending to be for all these years. CM Punk, that messiah that everyone is looking up to, that all these fans believed in. A lot of guys, a lot of wrestlers from my generation believed in that turned out to be so full of sh*t.

I’m gonna give you a chance to be that guy, if that guy really exists, yeah Sunday would be the appropriate time for him to show up. Me? I’m not what you would call a “CM Punk fan” so I could care less. This isn’t just the biggest match of your life Punk, this is your life. Defined.”

Edge Warns WWE RAW Star Following Attack at Clash at the Castle

0

Edge teamed up with Rey Mysterio to battle The Judgment Day tonight at Clash at the Castle.

On this past Monday’s edition of WWE RAW, Rey explained to Dominik that he wanted to partner with Edge at the premium live event because of his experience. Dominik told his father that he understood but clearly, that was a lie.

Rhea Ripley attacked Dominik ringside during the match but Rey broke it up with a Crossbody. Dominik then helped his father by tripping up The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor. Rey hit the 619 and Edge followed it up with a Spear for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Rey’s celebration with the Rated-R Superstar would be short-lived. Dominik hit Edge with a low blow and then leveled his father with a Clothesline. The Judgment Day cackled outside the ring as Dominik left his father laying in the ring.

Edge Warns Dominik Ahead of WWE RAW

The 48-year-old took to Twitter following Clash at the Castle and sent out a warning to Dominik. He also thanked the fans in the UK and Rey Mysterio for allowing him to be a luchador for a minute. Edge was sporting a luchador’s mask during his entrance tonight.

Cardiff. The UK. Thank you. Tonight you gave me something that will live in my heart forever. I think you can see what it means to me. We’re in it together. And I got to pay respect to Rey and be a luchador for a minute. Ok, now that I got that off my chest. See ya Monday Dom.

Watch: Roman Reigns Walks Out of Press Conference After Controversial Win at Clash at the Castle

0

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre in the main event of Clash at the Castle.

The Tribal Chief connected with a Superman Punch but Drew kicked out at one. He leveled Drew with two Spears but couldn’t keep him down for a count of three. The crowd at the Principality Stadium was heavily behind Drew and it appeared that he had the title within his grasp after connecting with a Claymore.

However, Solo Sikoa, The Usos’ younger brother, arrived as the newest addition to The Bloodline and broke up the pinfall. Roman then hit the third Spear of the match for the pinfall victory and retained the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Tyson Fury was a factor in the main event as well. Austin Theory tried to cash in his Money in the Bank contract but never got the opportunity because Tyson knocked him out with a right hand. After Roman’s victory, Tyson got into the ring and shook his hand. Fury stuck around to sing a song with Drew McIntyre and shake his hand as well.

After Clash at the Castle went off the air, Roman Reigns was interviewed by the media in a press conference. Roman was the first WWE Superstar that Triple H announced but The Tribal Chief wasn’t interested in answering too many questions. The Tribal Chief was asked about the UK crowd and sat in silence for a bit.

He then requested that the media acknowledge him because the 62,000+ fans in Cardiff did not during Clash at the Castle. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion then walked away without taking any more questions. You can check out Roman’s entire press conference below.

Tyson Fury Addresses WWE Future After Clash at the Castle

0

Tyson Fury made an impact at Saturday’s WWE Clash at the Castle event from Cardiff, Wales. During the main event clash between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre, Austin Theory’s theme music hit and the crowd erupted. Theory raced to the ring, referee in tow, to capitalize on Reigns being worn down by a grueling match. Before he could officially cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, Tyson Fury stood up from his ringside seat and connected with a punch that knocked Theory senseless.

Reigns went on to win the match. To the surprise of the rabid crowd, Fury entered the ring and went face-to-face with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Fury congratulated Reings on his win and they shook hands. Fury took a microphone, praised Drew McIntyre and led the crowd in singing American Pie to end the show.

Tyson Fury Open to Wrestling for WWE

After Clash at the Castle went off the air, WWE held a press conference for the media to ask questions of talent who appeared on the event. Tyson Fury participated, alongside Drew McIntyre and Triple H. A reporter asked Fury about his future with WWE.

Fury explained that he is a heavyweight boxing champion and won’t be hanging up his gloves anytime soon. However, he “really, really has a passion for WWE” and says there’s a real possibility that he will get back into a WWE ring at some point in the future.

“You know what, at the moment I’m a heavyweight world champion and I’ve got plenty of fights I’ve got to take care of in the next few years. But, I really really have a passion for WWE. As you see, me being at Crown Jewel and a couple of other events as well. Never say never. Lets just say, Triple H is here and I’ll definitely be open to it in the future for sure.”

Drew McIntyre Reveals Why He Brought His ‘Broken Dreams’ Theme Back at WWE Clash at the Castle

0

Drew McIntyre squared off against Roman Reigns in the main event of WWE Clash at the Castle.

The crowd was heavily behind Drew as he took The Tribal Chief to the limit. Tyson Fury even got involved in the match as Austin Theory tried to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. The boxer punched Theory in the face to knock him out cold and prevent the cash in.

McIntyre appeared to have the match won after connecting with the Claymore but Solo Sikoa arrived. The new member of The Bloodline broke up the cover and the distraction allowed Roman to connect with his third Spear of the match. In the end, it was too much for Drew to overcome and Roman’s 2+ year championship reign continues.

After Clash at the Castle went off the air, Drew spoke with Ariel Helwani from BT Sport. He was emotional following the loss, as he’s a 2-time WWE Champion but has yet to hold the title in front of fans. Both title reigns occurred during the pandemic and the 37-year-old is still waiting for his moment.

During the interview, Helwani asked about the return of the ‘Broken Dreams’ theme song and McIntyre admitted that it was something that he wanted to do for a long time.

“I’ve been pushing it for a very long time. I didn’t think they’d finally bite but I had a conversation with Hunter (Triple H) and Kevin Dunn. I tried to explain that I think this is the time, with the crowd we are going to have. This is a knowledgeable crowd, they know my history. It is very much a full-circle moment for me and I feel that is very much a part of my story. I knew it would get a pop from the live crowd, I knew people online would get a kick out of it. But for me, hearing that, it reminded me of how far I’ve come.”

The Game spoke about the WWE Universe during his press conference and how everything a wrestler does is done to get a reaction from the crowd.

“Those people are why we do what we do, everything about what we do. It is what we love. It is why we do it. So, when they give us that passion, we give them that energy back in the ring. I know for me as a performer, it is what drove me.

“Every move we make in that ring, every nuance, every facial expression, every raise of an eyebrow, every chop Sheamus took tonight. Every kick that Gunther took, it is all for them. It is all for you. Every bit of that emotion that we get back, that is passion, the electricity, that connection to our fanbase, it is unlike anything else in this world.”

Liv Morgan Retains SmackDown Women’s Title at WWE Clash at the Castle

0

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan made her latest title defense against Shayna Baszler at the Clash at the Castle event.

The match started off with a quick pace as Morgan landed a flurry of strikes and moves until things went outside of the ring and Shayna tossed her into the barricade. This led to Baszler slowing down the match’s pace, which turned out to be the story. Morgan, the babyface, trying to be fast while Shayna plots her way through. It ended when Morgan hit her with the code breaker then her finisher for the win.

Morgan vs. Baszler

In order to compete for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Clash at the Castle, Baszler had to win a gauntlet match on an episode of SmackDown last month. Shayna beat Raquel Rodriguez, Sonya Deville, Xia Li, Shotzi, and Natalya in the match.

Despite submitting to Ronda Rousey’s armbar submission and tapping out, Morgan kept the title at SummerSlam as she pinned Rousey a second later after tapping out. Instead of counting Rousey’s shoulders on the ground on that mat, the referee failed to notice Morgan’s submission.

Morgan won the championship after cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on Rousey at the themed event.

Austin Theory Officially Got His First Name Back at Clash at the Castle

0

Austin Theory is the latest star to get his first name back as he was introduced as “Austin Theory” when he made his entrance for a six-man tag team match on WWE Clash at the Castle pre-show.

He teamed with Alpha Academy in a loss to Madcap Moss & The Street Profits where Montez Ford pinned Chad Gable to get the victory.

Austin is Back

Since April, he had been going by the name “Theory” after having his first name-dropped. It was reported earlier this week by Pwinsider.com that Theory, real name Austin White, would be returning to using the full name Austin Theory, which comes after Matt Riddle got his first name back on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

PWInsider noted in their report the “shortened names were an edict under the Vince McMahon regime that has now been reversed.” The change comes after Triple H took over as head of WWE creative following McMahon’s resignation.

While speaking with SHAK Wrestling this week, Theory said he didn’t think he needed his first name back because he loves the name Theory and felt Austin was always the throw-on for the name.

Theory is the current holder of the Money in the Bank briefcase after winning it in July and grants him the right to a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship whenever he wants it.

Sheamus won over Ricochet, Sami Zayn, Madcap Moss, and Happy Corbin on a recent edition of SmackDown to qualify for a crack at Gunther’s Intercontinental championship.

Zayn, who was competing in his hometown, was injured after taking white noise from Sheamus off the top rope and was forced to leave the ring. He hit a kick, came back, and tried to pin Ricochet. By taking Zayn outside the ring, Corbin interrupted the count. Corbin attempted to pin Ricochet during the finish, but Sheamus stepped in and delivered the winning brogue kick on Corbin.
