Married Couple To Wrestle Each Other At Upcoming AAA Event

0

AAA announced a unique match for the Ring Rock StAAArs event on September 10 as married couple John Morrison and Taya Valkyrie are slated to wrestle each other.

Valkyrie will team up with Impact star Laredo Kid to take on her husband under the name Johnny Caballero and Christi Jaynes.

They have worked for AAA since the start of this year, with the latest show being TripleMania XXX: Tijuana, where Taya called out AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa and Morrison teaming with Matt Hardy to take on Dragon Lee and Dralistico as a replacement for Jeff Hardy, who was pulled due to his recent DUI arrest.

This marked the second time Morrison headlined an AAA event as he had previously headlined AAA Rey de Reyes, unsuccessfully challenging Hijo del Vikingo for AAA Mega Championship.

At the June 26th tapings, Taya sided against Johnny, cornering Arez and AEW star Rey Fenix as they took on Johnny and Absimo Negro Jr. Taya previously scored a win over her husband at the WrestleCon Supershow.

Since hitting the free-agent market after being let go by WWE, Valkyrie has found a lot of success as she is currently the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion, one-half of the Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champions with Rosemary, the inaugural MLW Women’s Featherweight Champion, and the inaugural XPW Women’s Champion.

Booker T Reacts to Rumors of Street Profits Splitting Up

0

WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T has offered his thoughts on the rumors that The Street Profits could be splitting up soon.

A recent report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio indicates that WWE is very high on Montez Ford. In fact, the report suggests that the commentary team’s comments on Ford’s physique during Money In The Bank were meant to lead to a singles push for Ford.

There are reportedly those in WWE management who are very high on Ford, and his new physique was a big part of that. The commentary team also laid the foundation for a future split of The Street Profits by suggesting there was tension between the two.

Booker T discussed the possibility of Ford getting a singles push during a recent episode of his podcast, “The Hall Of Fame.” Booker said he hopes this lights a fire under Angelo Dawkins.

“I’m gonna tell you right now, if Angelo Dawkins ain’t listening to the internet and people talking about Montez Ford being a singles, and people wanting to treat him like a star, if that don’t motivate his ass, nothing will,” Booker said. “If he don’t think the chatter is real, that’s on him, okay?”

In regards to seeing Ford as a singles star, Booker certainly sees the potential in the young star. However, he believes the tag team division needs a team like The Street Profits right now, and thinks WWE should let them ride things out as a team a bit longer in order for them to find a replacement for them before splitting them up.

“Montez can definitely be a singles star. But I do think we need a strong tag team division right now, and I think over a period of time, Street Profits can be replaced, but I don’t think they can be replaced overnight. So I say let this thing roll for a little while longer, because we got something now.”

Recently Retired UFC Star Wants to Be ‘Female Undertaker’ in WWE or AEW

0

One recently retired UFC star is looking to become the “female Undertaker” of WWE or All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

A growing number of mixed martial arts (MMA) stars seem to be gaining interest in transitioning to professional wrestling once their fighting days are done. Names that have already made the jump include Shayna Baszler, Ronda Rousey, Valerie Loureda, Paige VanZant, and so many more.

Now, former UFC flyweight title challenger Jessica “Evil” Eye is looking at a transition to professional wrestling. Eye retired over the weekend after suffering a defeat to Maycee Barber at UFC 276.

It was Eye’s fourth-straight defeat, thus deciding to hang up the gloves for good. Speaking at the post-fight press conference, Eye expressed interest in becoming the “female Undertaker” of professional wrestling.

“I’ve always wanted to dabble in wrestling,” Jessica Eye said (via MMA News). “In pro wrestling. I want to be the female Undertaker. I want to ride a motorcycle down to the Octagon and DDT somebody. I’d love to do that.

“I tried out a couple of years ago during COVID and I ended up making it. Suffered a lot of health issues — I lost my gall bladder, found out about the parasites so — AEW, WWE lets go. Jessica “Evil Eye” is ready. Jessica “Evil” Eye does not end here, she’s just starting a new journey.”

Should Eye decide to pull the trigger on the move, it would be interesting to see where she ultimately ends up. WWE has a track record of picking up former mixed martial artists such as Rousey, Baszler, Sonya Deville, and many more.

However, AEW recently signed VanZant, a former UFC star and current bare-knuckle boxing competitor. Eye certainly has no shortage of opportunities should both promotions show interest.

Former WWE Ref Isn’t Thrilled with Liv Morgan’s Cash-In

0

At Money in the Bank 2022, Liv Morgan won the Women’s Ladder Match, guaranteeing her a championship match at a time of her choosing for up to a year.

Morgan didn’t waste time in picking her moment, as mere hours later she cashed in on Ronda Rousey, who had retained the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Natalya.

Winning the title from Ripley, many felt this was the perfect moment for Morgan, though not everyone is pleased.

Korderas Weighs In

Speaking on his ‘Reffin Rant,’ former WWE official Jimmy Korderas said he wasn’t a fan of Morgan’s booking.

While Korderas said it was a nice surprise, he believes that Morgan shouldn’t have cashed in the way she did (via Wrestling Inc.)

“It was a nice surprise. It got the huge pop it wanted, but is it the way a babyface should win a championship and cash in their Money In The Bank? That’s the only issue I had. Yes, the crowd did love it, but at the same time, babyfaces don’t do it that way. Maybe, if she came in and said to Ronda Rousey, ‘I want to cash this in, are you ready?’ And Ronda said, ‘Okay,’ and then do it, then you can make a case for that.”

“Is it the way a babyface should win a championship and cash in their Money In The Bank?”

Jimmy Korderas on Liv Morgan’s Money in the Bank cash-in

Faces Cashing In

While babyfaces have cashed in Money in the Bank in the past, it is rare to see them cash in on a fellow babyface.

In 2006, Rob Van Dam announced in advance he was cashing in on face WWE Champion John Cena, who received a hostile reaction from the ECW One Night Stand 2006 crowd.

While Daniel Bryan, Kane, and CM Punk (in 2009) were all faces when they cashed in on babyfaces (Big Show, Rey Mysterio, and Jeff Hardy respectively,) the three briefcase holders all turned heel shortly after.

Chelsea Green Discusses Possibility of the Cardonas in WWE or AEW

0

During a recent discussion with SEScoops correspondent Steve Fall for NBC Sports Boston, Chelsea Green spoke about what her and Matt Cardona’s characters would look like in WWE or AEW.

Chelsea & Matt On The Independents

Chelsea Green and her husband Matt Cardona have been everywhere on the independent scene after their releases from WWE. On April 15, 2021, Chelsea Green was released from her WWE contract. Matt was released exactly one year before Chelsea on April 15, 2020.

Chelsea and Matt have been regulars in promotions like Impact, NWA, GCW, and many other indy promotions. Matt is currently injured, but prior to his injury, he was the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.

The National Wrestling Alliance actually named a pay-per-view titled ‘Alwayz Ready’ after Matt because of all of his recent success. Chelsea and Matt have proven themselves to be valuable commodities with them receiving multiple bookings every weekend, even with Matt injured.

The Cardonas In WWE Or AEW?

Chelsea spoke about the possibility of going back to WWE or heading towards AEW, and the changes that they would need to make to become PG,  “I think that that’s exactly it. Go out there, let’s see the reaction. Let’s see the ideas that you have and what you want to do because we’re not doing things that are necessarily PG.

“This is the struggle that I have going from GCW to Impact and NWA, the chants that people have at GCW. I mean it’s hilarious, we get such a kick out of them, but those are not chants you can hear on TV. So, there would have to be some tweaking, I mean, no matter what there would have to be some tweaking.

“I still think the idea, the general idea, of what we want to bring to the table which is very much like a package of 90’s, early 2000’s like sexy and defying, like stick it to the man, stuff like that. I think that you can still do that in WWE and AEW, but it just has to be a little more PG. Boring, but I mean you can still figure it out.”

Chelsea In Impact

Mrs. Cardona can still be seen on Impact Wrestling as she recently competed, in a losing effort, for the Knockouts World Championship in a first-ever Queen of the Mountain match at the Slammiversary pay-per-view.

Green was able to have a memorable moment with Deonna Purrazzo when they both fell off of a tall ladder to the outside of the ring and through two tables.

AEW Star Shares Update Amid Contract Rumors

0

Chuck Taylor has been with AEW since the early days of the company, signing with the promotion in February 2019.

Taylor has spent much of his time in the All-Elite promotion teaming with Trent Beretta, though the pairing are yet to hold AEW World Tag Team Championship gold.

In 2022, Taylor has spent much of his time on AEW’s developmental shows Dark and Dark: Elevation, but recently, some believed that they had seen the last of him in AEW.

Taylor’s Contract

Last week, Taylor got a lot of fans talking when he blacked out his social media account.

Many saw this as Chuck signifying that his career with AEW has ended, as several three-year deals signed in 2019 are set to expire this year.

In an update on Twitter though, Taylor confirmed that he is still with AEW, at least for the time being.

In the tweet, which features a GIF from AEW Dark: Elevation, Chuck said that he hasn’t been fired yet.

https://twitter.com/SexyChuckieT/status/1544105532016959489

Taylor didn’t explain why he blacked out his social media profile, which has since been returned to normal.

Departures from AEW

Chuck Taylor may still be with AEW for the time being, but the company has experienced something of an exodus in talent this year.

Joey Janela, Alan Angels, Marko Stunt and Stu Grayson have all left AEW in recent weeks, and it has been reported that several ‘under the radar’ stars have also parted the company.

AEW’s biggest departure this year was Cody Rhodes, who returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38.

Big Update on Tyson Fury’s Future With WWE

Tyson Fury could be making his way back to WWE this summer but it isn’t set in stone.

Fury is the WBC and The Ring Heavyweight Champion of boxing. He claims to be done with professional prizefighting but some are skeptical. “The Gypsy King” insists he’s retired from pro boxing but will dabble in exhibition bouts.

Fury has also hinted at stepping back inside the squared circle. He has been teasing a potential showdown with Drew McIntyre for months.

Could we be on the verge of seeing Tyson Fury back inside a WWE ring?

Tyson Fury-WWE Talks

Tyson Fury has been in talks with WWE about potentially returning sometime this summer. The report notes that nothing has been finalized at this time and there are no concrete plans for him to appear on any of the upcoming shows yet.

Fury had a match with Braun Strowman in Saudi Arabia back in 2019. Fury knocked Strowman off the ring apron with one punch and won via count out.

There could be a roadblock with WWE’s potential plans for Fury, however.

“The Gyspy King’s” brother, Tommy, reportedly has been denied entry into the United States due to family ties with former boxing promoter and suspected crime boss Daniel Kinahan.

If things don’t get cleared up soon, Tyson Fury may not even be able to make any U.S. shows, although Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales on Sept. 3 wouldn’t be an issue.

Kyle O’Reilly Provides An Injury Update

0

Kyle O’Reilly recently joined the list of AEW’s injury reserve. Kyle has now provided an update on his injury.

O’Reilly has not wrestled since the June 8 AEW Dynamite where he won a battle royal to face Jon Moxley in the main event of the same episode. He would lose to Moxley who would go on to compete in and win the Interim AEW World Title match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

On the June 17 episode of AEW Rampage, Kyle was hit in the balls with a bat by Sting. As a result, O’Reilly claimed that his “testicles were swollen.”

O’Reilly On His Career

The Undisputed Elite member provided an update on his injury when speaking on This is VANCOLOUR.

Kyle said, “This October, I’ll be wrestling for 17 years now. It’s a lot of bumps, a lot of wear and tear on your body. Fortunately, nothing serious has really happened to me. I’ve been hurt a lot, I’ve been injured, but I’ve always grinded through, made the date, showed up and performed as well as I can in the ring despite whatever I was nursing. Sometimes, the medical staff needs to save us from ourselves.

As wrestlers, we’ll go until the wheels fall off. ‘My shoulder is hurt? Okay, I won’t do any moves where I land on my shoulder.’ We’re crazy like that.

“This is something I’ve been dealing with, it’s a nagging thing that I’ve been dealing with, specifically, pretty bad for the last five years. In the last few weeks of wrestling on AEW, I’ve been really banged up and didn’t know the extent of it until now.

Kyle Doesn’t Know Recovery Time Yet

“I still don’t know all the information, so I don’t want to disclose exactly what is happening with me. I need more information and I should know probably this week what the recovery time is going to be and what the recovery will entail.

“All I can do is, if there is time off, use it to remotivate myself, get in better shape, and come back stronger than ever before.”

It is still unknown when O’Reilly will return to AEW TV. His reDRagon partner, Bobby Fish, is also sidelined with an injury.

Watch: Chris Jericho 7/7 Impractical Jokers Episode Trailer

0

Chris Jericho will be appearing in the July 7 episode of Impractical Jokers on truTV. The trailer has now been released.

Since the creation of All Elite Wrestling, the company has explored different crossover opportunities with other Warner Media properties. AEW’s Chris Jericho is next to further the partnership.

The special appearance was even promoted during this past week’s episodes of AEW Dynamite and Rampage.

Impractical Jokers & Chris Jericho/AEW

On this Thursday’s episode of Impractical Jokers, the former AEW World Champion and current leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society will be a guest star.

Chris Jericho will be appearing alongside the regular crew of Sal, James, and Brian. Earlier this weekend, the trailer of the episode was released.

Jericho is not the first wrestler to appear on the show as Tommy Dreamer has been a guest star in the past.

The Impractical Jokers crew are no strangers to the AEW company. At the Double Or Nothing fan fest earlier this year, Q and Sal appeared for a stage show with The Acclaimed.

Booker T is all for Theory dethroning Roman Reigns

0

At Money in the Bank 2022, Theory captured the Men’s briefcase, earning a guaranteed championship opportunity at a time of his choosing.

Theory has certainly been on the receiving end of a major push in recent months, but many have questioned this decision.

Right now, the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship is firmly in the grasp of Roman Reigns, and many doubt how the cocky young Superstar could be a threat to “The Tribal Chief.”

Booker T’s Comments

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T discussed Theory’s win last Saturday night, and said that dethroning Roman Reigns makes sense for the former United States Champion.

“It’s not losing, but it’s how you lose. He could beat Roman, he could beat anybody on the card if the situation is right. If a person is unconscious when I cash in, who loses? If you book it properly, Theory is not going to be one of the guys that got the briefcase and didn’t cash it in and win it. I don’t see that happening.”

He continued, “This kid has got way too much upside for something like that to happen. That’s just me and what I would be thinking if I had Theory in this position.”

“He could beat anybody on the card if the situation is right.”

Booker T on Theory possibly cashing in on Roman Reigns.

H/T Sportskeeda

Theory’s other title opportunity

Theory could (in theory) be the next Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, but that’s not the only piece of gold on his mind.

It has been confirmed that at Summerslam, Theory will take on new United States Champion Bobby Lashley for the title.

Theory lost the U.S. Title to Lashley at Money in the Bank prior to winning the Men’s Ladder match, making him the first Superstar to lose a title and win the coveted briefcase on the same night.

The Next Face of WWE

On the topic of Who is the next Face of WWE?, we recently wrote this feature looking at 5 WWE Superstars that we feel have the potential to carry the company after Roman Reigns:

Cameron Grimes is Ready to Face one of WWE’s Greatest Superstars

0

Cameron Grimes has been on a roll as of late in WWE NXT 2.0 and is a former NXT North American Champion.

Grimes has proven himself to be one of the biggest stars of NXT 2.0 right now, but he is ready to step into the ring with arguably WWE’s biggest ever name.

Grimes lays out the Challenge

Cameron Grimes has faced plenty of names in WWE NXT 2.0 so far in his career, but he now has his sights on John Cena.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Grimes was asked about his future plans in WWE and laid out the challenge to the 16-time WWE World Champion.

“When I win the NXT Championship, I would love to defend that against John Cena. I feel like anyone that’s in this business would love the opportunity to be against John Cena in any type of light. You can book it in a Coconut show in Largo. I don’t care if it’s on television. You can just do it in the Performance Center, and we won’t even have to turn the cameras on and I would love that opportunity.”

“Anyone that’s in this business would love the opportunity to be against John Cena.”

Cameron Grimes explains why he wants to face John Cena.

What’s next for Big Match John?

It may be a while before fans see John Cena Vs. Cameron Grimes, but Cena did recently return to WWE.

On last week’s Raw, Cena returned to the show to mark the 20th anniversary of his main roster debut and had a backstage confrontation with Theory.

While many believed this would set up a match between the two at Summerslam 2022 that no longer appears to be the case.

Theory will instead face United States Champion Bobby Lashley at the July 30 Premium Live Event.

Theory Reveals Who He Will Be Facing At SummerSlam

0

Mr. Money In The Bank Theory has revealed who he will be facing at the SummerSlam event. Though his opponent is not who fans were expecting it to be.

After John Cena’s return was announced for the June 27 episode of Raw, it was reported that WWE was planning a match between him and the then US champion for the upcoming PPV event.

WWE even teased this bout in a backstage segment when the Cenation Leader returned to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his main roster debut last month.

The Money In The Bank event saw Theory dropping the US title to Bobby Lashley. He went on to win the Men’s Money In The Bank ladder match later in the night.

No John Cena For SummerSlam?

The young star then made an appearance on the July 4th Raw and cut a promo. He revealed that he will be getting a rematch against The All Mighty for the Championship at SummerSlam.

John Cena had claimed during his return promo that he didn’t know when he will be wrestling next. This announcement has now put a question mark over his status for SummerSlam on July 30.

Theory on the other hand has gotten a replacement in form of Lashley. We will have to see if he is able to defeat the heavyweight star this time around.

Ric Flair Reacts To Being Added Back To WWE Intro

0

The 16-time world champion Ric Flair has been added back to the WWE intro and he has thanked the company for giving him his dignity back.

The Nature Boy’s signature ‘Woooo’ was removed from the official intro to WWE shows back in September last year.

This came after sexual misconduct allegations against the former world champion were brought in light by a Dark Side of The Ring episode titled the Plane Ride From Hell.

Flair himself had denied the allegations but he still received significant backlash from the fans. WWE had responded to it by removing him from the intro and pulling all his merchandise from their official website.

Ric Flair Thanks Vince McMahon

The company quietly added the wrestling veteran back to the intro on the July 4th Raw. Ric Flair commented on it on Twitter. He claimed that losing the spot was the most hurtful moment of his career:

“The Most Hurtful Moment In My ENTIRE Career Was Losing My Spot. Thank You So Much For Giving Me Back My Dignity & My Life! @WWE @VinceMcMahon #WWERaw”

Flair is currently preparing for a final match during the SummerSlam weekend. While an opponent for him is yet to be announced, the show is garnering the attention of fans and it was recently moved to a much larger arena.

Watch What Happened With Becky Lynch After WWE Raw Went Off The Air

0

The special Independence Day edition of WWE Raw is in the books and something went down when the cameras stopped rolling.

This week’s episode for the red brand featured a six-man tag match involving WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits vs. Theory and Alpha Academy. There was also a singles match between Seth Rollins and Ezekiel.

The main event was a No Holds Barred match. It was Asuka taking on Becky Lynch.

We also saw the formation of a new alliance as The Miz finally embraced Ciampa at the expense of AJ Styles.

After The Show

Once the USA Network broadcast went off the air, Becky Lynch addressed the WWE Universe and called herself the GOAT.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtdsVUMpTN8

WWE also aired its Raw Talk show. Riddle was interviewed and discussed saving Ezekiel from a post-match attack at the hands of Seth Rollins.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair were also interviewed and they talked about their tag team win over Natalya and Carmella.

WWE Veteran ‘Would Love’ To Join AEW In Backstage Role

0

AEW has hired many former WWE employees into key backstage positions. WWE veteran Road Dogg says he would also ‘love’ the opportunity to join the promotion for a behind-the-scenes role.

The former SmackDown head writer recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. He discussed things such as making amends with Jim Ross and The Undertaker and more.

When asked about potentially joining AEW like his longtime partner Billy Gunn, Road Dogg claimed that he would love to work with the promo guys there:

“I wanted to keep my relationship with (WWE) really good even if I went somewhere else to work.” said Road Dogg, “Which, I’d love to do that. I’d love to work with promo guys backstage at AEW

Because it’s just new talent — Well, half of them are NXT talent I’ve worked with in the past, but I would love to do something challenging, you know what I mean?”

The former WWE star also talked about the notion of an ongoing wrestling war between WWE and AEW. He explained why he doesn’t believe it to be the case.

The Attitude Era star mentioned how the two companies aren’t actually going head-to-head against each other. He feels that the offices are more in competition with each other than the locker rooms.

WWE Star Fires Back At Critics Over Money In The Bank Botch

0

Shotzi Blackhart has fired back at the critics for calling her out for her performance at the Money In The Bank PPV this past Saturday.

The female star competed in the women’s Money In The Bank ladder match alongside people such as Becky Lynch and Asuka during the PPV event. As is the case with such matches, there were some spots that didn’t go as planned.

One such spot saw Shotzi picking up Alexa Bliss while she was trying to climb the ladder. She was supposed to deliver a slam to Bliss but the WWE star lost her balance.

This led to her accidentally slamming Alexa into a falling ladder in a scary-looking bump. Fans did not react to this kindly. Many called the SmackDown star out on Twitter.

https://twitter.com/CertifiedCocoa_/status/1543995301773590531

Shotzi Fires Back

Shotzi has since fired back at her critics. She posted a lengthy statement on Twitter noting that she cried over the reactions after the match:

“Comments like “you should be fired” and other terrible things admittedly hit hard. I had to have a few friends wipe the tears off my face and slap some sense into me and remind me WHO THE F I AM! That being said, all my haters can SUCK MY BIG GIANT HAIR MANGOS!”

What did you think about Shotzi’s performance during the ladder match on Saturday? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Former World Champion Debuts New Ring Gear On Raw

0

Finn Balor has not only switched up his character after joining the Judgement Day but he has changed up his long-used ring gear as well.

A match between The Mysterios and The Judgement Day faction had been announced in advance for this Monday’s episode of Raw.

The father-son duo picked up a disqualification victory in this match. This came after Rey paid homage to the late great Eddie Guerrero and used a chair to make the referee believe that he had been attacked.

However, what got fans talking was the new ring gear of Finn Balor worn during the bout. The former Universal champion ditched the trunks for leather pants:

There was also a purple bandana hanging out of the Raw star’s back pocket, though its significance is not known. This is the first time Balor has worn pants in 14 years.

Later in the show, the team of Balor and Damian Priest attacked Rey and his son Dominik as they were walking in the backstage area. This segment suggests that the rivalry between the two teams is far from over.

WWE has also been teasing the return of Edge after he was kicked out of Judgement Day last month. We will have to see what the company is planning for his comeback.

WWE Superstar Vomits After Match on Monday Night Raw (Video)

July 4, 2022 was not a good night for one WWE superstar.

Always expect the unexpected when it comes to the wrestling business. WWE has long had the “anything can happen” mentality and it’s hardly the only promotion to do so.

WWE officials often think of ways to get people talking after shows and for better or worse, a recent scripted mishap has garnered some attention online.

Otis Barfs on Raw

To celebrate Independence Day, WWE ran an old July 4 tradition. A hot dog eating contest took place and Otis was a participant. Ultimately, Akira Tozawa won the competition.

Later on that night, Otis competed in a six-man tag team match, teaming with Gable and Theory to take on Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits.

Near the end of the match, Montez Ford landed a frog splash on Otis. Lashley ended up pinning Gable with the spear.

After the match, Otis hurled all over the ring.

https://twitter.com/WWE/status/1544143836976496640

Yes, vomit humor is back in WWE.

Back in the 90s when Droz was an active wrestler, he had the ability to puke on command. There’s an infamous video of Droz hurling inside a conference room and Vince McMahon yelling, “he’s gonna puke!”

One has to wonder if Vince was saying those same words in Gorilla Position when Otis threw up.

New Alliance Formed on WWE Raw

A new duo has been formed within the ranks of WWE.

In the wrestling business, sometimes it’s good to have allies. If you happen to be a dastardly heel, having another like-minded villain could lead to dominance on the Raw or SmackDown brand.

In the case of this new alliance, it’s something that has been building for weeks.

The formation of the duo has seemingly been made official and one has to wonder what this could mean for Logan Paul.

The Miz & Ciampa Form Alliance

During the July 4 episode of WWE Raw, The Miz went one-on-one with AJ Styles. Ultimately, Styles won with the Phenomenal Forearm.

After the match, Ciampa delivered another sneak attack on Styles. The “Phenomenal One” got the upper hand on Ciampa but he was distracted, allowing Miz to plant him with the Skull Crushing Finale.

Miz finally embraced Ciampa, making their alliance official.

Logan Paul has insisted that he signed a WWE contract to get revenge on Miz not team up with him. Perhaps we could be in for a tag team match between Logan Paul and AJ Styles vs. The Miz and Ciampa at SummerSlam.

Time will tell if that’s the direction WWE will go in.

Major WWE Superstar Set to Return on SmackDown This Week

A big-time WWE superstar will be making his return this Friday.

WWE is known for having larger-than-life characters. Some feel that the star power has been running thin, however. We’ve seen key injuries to the likes of main eventers such as Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

There have also been megastars that have taken reduced schedules but one major name is set to return.

Roman Reigns Returns This Week

Roman Reigns is the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. Fans haven’t been able to see much of him, however.

That’s because Reigns inked a new deal with WWE that will allow him to work fewer dates. He hasn’t been seen since successfully defending his title against Riddle on the June 17 episode of SmackDown before being laid out by Brock Lesnar.

WWE has announced that Roman Reigns will be back on the July 8 episode of SmackDown in Fort Worth, TX.

It’ll be interesting to see what he’ll have to say after being attacked by Lesnar during his last appearance.

The two will face off with the WWE Undisputed Universal Title on the line at SummerSlam on July 30 in Nashville. It’ll be a Last Man Standing match.

WWE Talent Misses July 4 Episode of Raw

A WWE personality isn’t present for the special July 4 episode of Monday Night Raw.

The Independence Day edition of Raw is being held inside Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California. This is the post-Money in the Bank episode of Raw.

The WWE Universe is fresh off witnessing the MITB premium live event. Fans saw two Money in the Bank winners crowned and a SmackDown Women’s Championship change when Liv Morgan cashed in her contract to defeat Ronda Rousey.

When the show got started, however, one notable name was absent.

Jimmy Smith Not on Raw

When WWE Raw got started, Corey Graves revealed that Jimmy Smith is on vacation. He was replaced by Kevin Patrick as the play-by-play commentator this week.

Smith has been the lead PBP person on Raw since the company dropped Adnan Virk. Smith has been praised for holding his own in the booth despite not having much knowledge about the current WWE product going into the role.

This week’s episode of Raw features The Judgment Day vs. The Mysterios. There will also be a six-man tag team match with Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits vs. Theory and Alpha Academy.

Keep it locked on the SEScoops homepage for ongoing coverage of WWE Raw.

Lashley Will Defend The US Title Against Theory At SummerSlam

It was announced that Becky Lynch will battle Asuka in a No Holds Barred match and Judgement Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest will face the Mysterios. SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan will also appear tonight. Bobby Lashley & Street Profits will battle Theory & American Alpha in a 6-man tag team match tonight.

United States Champion Bobby Lashley made his way to the ring to begin the show. Lashley welcomed everyone to Monday Night RAW and the crowd cheered. A loud “Bobby!” chant broke out for the United States Champion and he thanked them. Lashley claimed that there is not a man in any division, in any promotion that can beat him for the United States Championship.

MITB winner Theory interrupted to a smattering of boos from the crowd. The crowd booed as Theory claimed everyone was waiting to hear what he has to say. Theory boasted about being the youngest Mr. Money in the Bank in WWE history. The crowd chanted “you suck!” as Lashley pointed out that they were talking to Theory.

He told Bobby to shut up before entering the ring with the United States Champion. Theory noted that Lashley got him in the first half of the show, but just like Michael Jordan, he came back and won the MITB contract. Lashley told Theory that he didn’t earn his way into the MITB ladder match and wanted a fight. Theory backed down and held up the MITB briefcase. Theory announced that he’s already been given a rematch against Bobby Lashley for the United States Championship at SummerSlam.

Theory noted that Lesnar and Reigns are going to beat the hell out of each other at SummerSlam and he’s going to cash in that night to become the youngest Undisputed champion in WWE history. Theory then attacked Lashley with the MITB briefcase and hit him several times with it. The United States Champion battled back and hit a Chokeslam. Lashley set up for a Spear but Theory rolled out of the ring to end the segment.

The Mysterios def. Judgement Day, Independence Day Cookout

Finn Balor and Damian Priest attacked Rey and Dominik Mysterio during their entrance as RAW went to a break. Judgement Day then battled The Mysterios in a singles match. Balor and Dominik started off the action. Dominik took control and Damian Priest tagged in. Dominik caught him with a Dropkick and knocked him out of the ring.

Rey tagged in and hit a Senton off the ring apron. Back in the ring, Rey caught Balor with an Enziguri and tagged out. Dominik connected with a Crossbody off the top rope before tripping Balor up. Priest tagged in and prevented the 619. Damian carried Dominik out of the ring and threw him into the barricade as WWE RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Rey connected with a Tornado DDT and went for the cover but Damian Priest was able to kick out. Mysterio followed it up with a Senton off the top rope for a near fall. Dominik popped Rey up in the air and he connected with an awesome Hurricanrana on Damian for another two count. Rey then made it seem like Finn used a steel chair to hit him and The Mysterios got a DQ win in a tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Judement Day then attacked The Mysterios backstage and beat them down until WWE officials broke it up.

Street Profits and Alpha Academy argued at a cookout earlier in the day. Montez Ford hit Gable with a hot dog and Otis got pissed off.

Later, we are back at the cookout and Ezekiel is hanging out with Street Profits. Ezekiel accidentally got ketchup all over Seth Rollins. Seth looked angry but started laughing like a goof. Rollins then got angry again, had some of the ketchup that was on his face, and exited as Ezekiel was bewildered. Rollins and Ezekiel competed in a singles match later on tonight’s WWE RAW.

The hot dog contest began between Dawkins & Otis. It was revealed that Tozawa had eaten 48 hot dogs right next to them and won the contest. Theory showed up and said he will see Alpha Academy out there for their 6-man tag team match. Otis’ stomach didn’t feel too well going into the bout.

AJ Styles def. The Miz, Ciampa Attacked

The Miz battled AJ Styles once again tonight on RAW. Before the match, The Miz was interviewed backstage about Logan Paul’s challenge for a match at SummerSlam. Miz insisted that they form a tag team and put the Skull Crushing Finale at WrestleMania behind them. However, The Miz vowed to be relentless if Logan doesn’t want to become a tag team again.

Miz caught AJ with a knee to the midsection and bounced his head off the top turnbuckle. The A-Lister went for another knee but the Phenomenal One countered into a Clothesline. The Miz tumbled out of the ring and Styles hit him with a flying forearm as WWE RAW went to a break.

When RAW returned, AJ connected with an Ushigoroshi and went for a cover but Miz kicked out. The Miz cowered away in the corner and begged Styles for mercy. He then tripped AJ and planted him with a DDT for a near fall. AJ battled back and hit the Phenomenal Forearm for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Ciampa attacked AJ from behind and slammed him into the ring post. Ciampa pulled down his knee pad but Styles caught him with an Enziguri. AJ set up for the Styles Clash on Ciampa but The Miz broke it up. Miz planted AJ with the Skull Crushing Finale and smirked at Ciampa. The Miz and Ciampa stood over Styles and shook hands to end the segment.

The Women’s Champs Picked Up A Win

Liv Morgan won the women’s MITB ladder match and cashed in just a couple of hours later on Ronda Rousey to win the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Liv made her way to the big to a big pop from the crowd. She said she was so proud to be standing in the ring as the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. Liv boasted about beating Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank and raised the title.

Natalya interrupted and took credit for destroying Ronda Rousey before Liv Morgan cashed in. Carmella joined the party and wanted Natalya & Liv to take their business over to SmackDown. Natalya and Carmella attacked Liv Morgan before RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair made the save. Belair beat Carmella down as Liv sent Natalya out of the ring to end the segment. Adam Pearce then did his best Teddy Long and announced a tag team match up next.

Bianca dominated the action early and leveled Carmella. Liv tagged in and hit a Splash in the corner for a two count. Natalya tagged in and caught Liv with a Dropkick for a near fall. Morgan responded with a Dropkick of her own for a two count. Natalya got the SmackDown Women’s Champion in the Sharpshooter but she used Bianca’s braid to reach the ropes.

The RAW Women’s Champion tagged in and hit Natalya with a shoulder tackle. Belair went for a Powerbomb but Natalya countered into a Hurricanrana. Belair went for a Suplex but Carmella broke it up. Carmella tagged in and hit Bianca with a Superkick against the ring post as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Bianca Belair planted Carmella with a Backbreaker but couldn’t get to the corner for a tag. Natalya tagged in and stomped Belair down in the corner of the ring. Belair threw Natalya out of the ring and got the tag to Liv. Morgan stormed into the ring and hit Natalya with an Enziguri.

Liv hit a springboard Stunner and went for the cover but Carmella broke it up. Carmella went for a Crossbody on Belair but the RAW Women’s Champion caught her. Carmella escaped and shoved Belair into the ring post. Liv knocked Carmella off the apron and planted Natalya with the Oblivion for the pinfall victory.

Seth Rollins def. Ezekiel, Riddle Saved The Day

Seth Rollins battled Ezekiel tonight on RAW. Rollins attacked Ezekiel right when the bell rang and stomped the hell out of him in the corner of the ring. Ezekiel battled back with a Suplex and Seth retreated out of the ring. Ezekiel chased him around and Rollins threw him into the ropes. Rollins connected with a Neckbreaker but Ezekiel battled back with some chops to the chest. Ezekiel sent Seth to the outside with a Back Body Drop. Ezekiel then launched Rollins over the barricade and into the timekeeper’s area as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Ezekiel was still in control and sent Seth flying across the ring with a Fallaway Slam. Ezekiel connected with a Splash in the corner and followed it up with a Spinebuster for a two count. Ezekiel went for another Splash but Rollins blocked. Seth leaped off the top rope but Ezekiel countered with a knee to the face. Ezekiel quickly followed it up with a swinging Neckbreaker but couldn’t put Rollins away.

Ezekiel climbed to the top turnbuckle but Rollins caught him with a forearm to the face. Seth climbed to the top rope as well but Zeke shoved him down. Seth hopped right back up but Ezekiel escaped through his legs. Ezekiel got Rollins in the Electric Chair and transitioned into a Powerbomb for a near fall. Rollins kicked out of several roll-up attempts before hitting the Stomp for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Seth Rollins went for an attack but Riddle caught him with an RKO out of nowhere. The crowd loved this and Riddle got a great reaction as Rollins retreated.

Lashley & Street Profits Dominated, Otis Ate Too Many Hotdogs

United States Champion Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) battled MITB winner Theory & Alpha Academy (Otis & Chad Gable) in a 6-man tag team match. Theory leveled Dawkins to begin the match and flexed for the booing crowd. Gable tagged in and connected with a Dragon Screw as Otis was holding his stomach on the ring apron. The action broke down into a brawl and Otis got knocked out of the ring. Ford and Lashley hit a double Vertical Suplex and Dawkins flipped onto Alpha Academy outside the ring as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Lashley and Gable were battling in the ring. Bobby connected with a Powerslam and went for the cover but Otis broke it up at two. Lashley hit Otis with a Spear and Ford followed it up with a Frog Splash. Gable connected with a Suplex and then a Moonsault on Lashley for a near fall. Lashley then hit Gable with the Spear for the pinfall victory. Otis then vomited due to eating too many hot dogs at the cookout and Gable just barely got out of the way.

Gunther Destroyed R-Truth

R-Truth came to the ring dressed as Uncle Sam for an Independence Day Celebration as RAW went to a break.

He introduced himself as Uncle Sam and claimed that today is his favorite holiday. R-Truth said that they are here to honor those brave American heroes that saved the alien invasion back in 1996 (Independence Day movie joke). R-Truth said he wanted to read his favorite passage from the Constitution.

Ludwig Kaiser interrupted and introduced Intercontinental Champion Gunther. Kaiser demanded that the crowd stand and show respect to The Ring General, Gunther. R-Truth started a USA chant but Gunther knocked his hat off. An impromptu match started that R-Truth was shouting he didn’t agree to. Gunther booted R-Truth in the face and hit a Powerbomb for the pinfall victory.

Becky Lynch def. Asuka In A No Holds Barred Match

Becky Lynch battled Asuka in a No Holds Barred match in this week’s main event. The Empress of Tomorrow connected with a kick for a two count and then hit Becky with a steel chair. Asuka got out of the ring to get another chair and Becky attacked her while she got back into the ring. Lynch took an eternity to set up a chair in the ropes and it immediately fell out.

Lynch went to set it back up and Asuka shoved her into it. Asuka then leaped off a steel chair and hit a Dropkick. Becky rolled to the ring apron to regroup but Asuka followed her out there. Asuka went for a Powerbomb onto a stack of chairs but Lynch booted her away. Becky then delivered an Exploder Suplex onto the chairs and cleared off the announce table.Asuka hit her with a chair and followed it up with a Hip Attack that sent both superstars through the barricade as RAW went to the final commercial break of the night.

When RAW returned, Becky climbed to the top turnbuckle but Asuka caught her with another chair shot. Asuka set up a pile of chairs and climbed to the top rope with Lynch. The Empress of Tomorrow connected with a Superplex that sent Big Time Becks down onto the pile of chairs.

Asuka went for the cover but Becky kicked out at two and the match continued. Asuka grabbed a trash can and stuck it over Becky’s head. She unloaded a series of kicks as Lynch was trapped in the trash can. Asuka climbed to the top rope and hit a Dropkick but Becky was able to kick out at the last moment.

Asuka brought a table out from under the ring but Becky attacked from behind. Lynch launched Asuka into the steel steps and slid the table into the ring. Becky tossed the trash can to the outside and set up the table. Asuka got back into the ring but Becky bashed her with a steel chair.

Lynch put the table in the corner of the ring but Asuka attacked again. Asuka knocked Becky out of the ring and then quickly rolled her back in. She went under the ring and grabbed an umbrella. She hit Becky with it and booted her in the face for a two count. The Empress tried to spit the mist in Becky’s face but Lynch used the umbrella to block it. Asuka put Becky on top of the table and climbed to the top turnbuckle. Lynch caught her with a forearm to the face and then put Asuka through the table with the Man-Handle Slam for the pinfall victory.
