0

WWE‘s latest edition of Monday Night RAW goes down tonight (2/13/23) from the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York! Former WWE Champion’s Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley sign their contract for their showdown at the Elimination Chamber premium live event this weekend!

Live Coverage

The show begins and former RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch makes her way down to the ring. Adam Pearce is already in the ring and Becky grabs a microphone and says she’ll explain why Adam’s there in a minute. Becky shouts out Lita for assisting her in her victory over Bayley in a steel cage match during last Monday night’s main event. Becky says her path to WrestleMania isn’t clear but she loves to fight her way into things and ‘The Man’ turns her attention to Adam Pearce. Becky says she knows Adam likes to make fights. Becky asks Adam if she can fight her way into the elimination chamber match for this Saturday night and before Adam can respond, Bayley’s music hits and the leader of Damage CTRL makes her way down to the ring. Bayley says there’s no way Becky can be in the chamber match because of her antics with Lita last week.

Bayley says Adam needs to scrap what happened last week and insert her into the elimination chamber match because she’s actually earned it. Bayley says nobody wants to see Becky vs. Bianca Belair at WrestleMania and Becky points out that Bayley has never main vented WrestleMania like she and Bianca both have. Becky and Bailey start screaming at one another, Adam interrupts but so does the RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Bianca says she hears a whole lot of chat about her title and finds it odd that nobody thought of coming to talk to the champion herself. Bianca says if Becky and Bayley asked her, she actually likes where it’s going because she always wants to fight the best. Adam says he likes his Bianca is thinking and says Becky, Bayley, and Bianca will square off in a triple threat match and if Bayley or Becky win the match, the winner will be added to the elimination chamber match this Saturday night and the chamber match will begin as a triple threat match. However, if Bianca wins tonight, neither Becky nor Bayley will be added to the elimination chamber match.

Our commentary team of Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves run down tonight’s card, which includes a contract signing between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley, Miz vs. Rick Boogs, and Miz TV with Seth Rollins.

We then head backstage where we see Byron Saxton with Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day. Damian says nobody is ready for him inside of the elimination chamber match this weekend and he’ll become the United States Champion. Dominik says he knows a thing or two about being locked up and nobody is ready for Damian on Saturday night. Dominik says he just got off the phone with ‘Mami’ (Rhea Ripley) and says she’s still busy promoting her WrestleMania match against Charlotte Flair but she’s very excited for Valentine’s Day with him (Dominik). Finn says the chamber is this weekend but tonight The Judgment Day is focused on Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins of the Street Profits. Finn says if Ford and Dawkins want the smoke, he and Damian are about to roll them, pack them, and smoke them.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins are making their way down to the ring and the Street Profits will face Finn Balor and Damian Priest after the break.

Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs. The Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) (with Dominik Mysterio)

Priest and Ford start this one off. Priest scoops and slams Ford before making the tag to Balor, who nails Ford with a double stomp and goes for the cover but Ford kicks out. Ford drills Balor with a drop-kick and makes the tag to Dawkins and the Profits take out both Balor and Priest as we head to a commercial break. Back from the break and Priest has Ford on the top turnbuckle. Priest looks for a back suplex but Ford counters in mid-air and nails Priest with a cross-body. Both competitors make tags and Dawkins and Balor are now going at it. Dawkins knocks Priest off of the apron and crushes Balor with a flying back elbow followed by a back-body drop. Dawkins goes for a corner splash and misses, but Ford makes a self tag and plants Balor with a suplex and goes for the cover but Priest makes the save. Dawkins is tagged back in and he and Ford crush Balor with a blockbuster and Dawkins goes for the cover but Balor lifts the shoulders after a two-count.

Ford knocks Priest to the outside and flies over the top rope and lays Priest out with a diving cross-body. Dominik distracts Dawkins and Balor slams Dawkins to the mat, goes up top, and crushes Dawkins with the Coup de Grace for the 1-2-3!

Winners – The Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest)

After the match, The Judgment Day go on the attack and attack both Ford and Dawkins. Edge and Beth Phoenix rush down toward the ring to even the odds and the two WWE Hall of Famers clear house! Phoenix flattens Dominik with a massive lariat but Rhea Ripley comes out of nowhere and crushes Phoenix with Rip Tide. Edge rushes down to make the save but Ripley and Dominik escape and The Judgment Day stands tall.

It’s announced that Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar will sign the contract for their match at Elimination Chamber after the break.

Back from the break and Brock Lesnar makes his way down to the ring. Adam Pearce is already in the ring and Pearce demands that Lashley comes down to the ring now or the match is off. Lashley makes his way down to the ring and says they’re going to do things on his terms. Lashley says he told Brock that he had all of his management team look at the contract and Pearce says Lashley needs to come sign the contract. Lashley says he doesn’t know if he’s going to sign it and Brock claims that Lashley is too scared. The crowd chants ‘Bobby’s scared, Bobby’s scared, Bobby’s scared!’ Brock says he’s going to go down the ramp and kick Bobby’s a** and sign it for him. Security is standing on the ramp but Lesnar takes each and ever one of them out and Lashley crushes Lesnar with a spear…then a second one! Lashley makes his way down to the ring and signs the contract before leaving it on Lesnar’s motionless body.

It’s then announced the Michin will face Piper Niven after the break.

Michin vs. Piper Niven

Michin tries to slam Piper but Piper falls on Michin with a cross-body into a cover but Michin kicks out. Michin lays into Piper with come chops to the chest in the corner and goes for a corner splash but Piper catches and slams Michin to the mat. Piper hits a running senton and goes for the cover but Michin kicks out. Piper goes for a slam but Michin evades and drills Piper with a super-kick. Michin goes for a lariat but Piper catches Michin and plants her with the Lockness Slam for the 1-2-3!

Winner – Piper Niven

We then see a video package highlighting the return of Jey Uso from this past Friday night on SmackDown, where he and Jimmy defeated Braun Strowman and Ricochet to retain the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. Graves and Patrick hype up tonight’s main event between Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, and Bayley before we head to a commercial break.

Back from the break and we see the fallout following Dexter Lumis’ victory over Baron Corbin from last Monday night. Backstage, we see Cathy Kelley, who’s with Baron Corbin. Cathy asks Corbin about JBL’s harsh remarks last week and if JBL has left his side. Cathy interrupts Corbin and says something important is going on in the ring and cameras cut back to the arena and Sami Zayn is in the ring! Sami says he’s not here to hold up the show so he’ll get right to the point. Sami calls out Cody Rhodes and ‘The American Nightmare’ obliges and makes his way down to the ring. The crowd is on fire for these two and Cody welcomes Sami to Monday Night RAW and asks him what he wants to talk about.

Sami says everyone is talking about Cody and Paul Heyman’s interaction on last Monday night and when Cody said that he thinks he’ll actually be facing Sami Zayn at WrestleMania instead of Roman Reigns. Sami says he came all the way to Brooklyn, New York to ask Cody face-to-face if his words last week were just lip service or if he genuinely believes that he can beat Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber. Cody says when he said that Sami Zayn will beat Roman Reigns, he meant it. Cody says when he said that Sami Zayn would most likely be his opponent at WrestleMania, he believed it. The crowd reigns down ‘this is awesome!’ chants and Cody says he doesn’t think this is actually why Sami is here. Cody says it doesn’t matter what he thinks and it only matters what Sami Zayn thinks. Cody asks Sami if he believes he can truly beat Roman Reigns this weekend and Sami asks Cody if he wants to hear the truth. Sami says the truth is he doesn’t know if he can beat Roman Reigns. Sami says Cody hasn’t seen what he’s seen because he’s been in the trenches with The Bloodline for over nine months and they always find a way. Sami says Roman being in God mode isn’t just a catchphrase, it’s actually true. Sami says he’s seen guys bigger and stronger than he, who fully believed that they were going to beat Roman Reigns…but they all went down. Sami ponders that after all that, how could he believe that he’s going to be the one to finally knock off Roman Reigns? Sami says he can beat Roman Reigns and become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Sami says he believes that he’s WrestleMania main event material because if he doesn’t believe that, nobody else will…but if anyone asks him if he believes he can beat Roman Reigns on Saturday night and walk out of his hometown of Montreal as the champion…he doesn’t know. ‘You can do it!’ chants ring throughout the Barclay’s Center. Cody asks Sami how he couldn’t know when everyone in the arena knows…and Sami’s hometown of Montreal will know on Saturday night.

Cody says Sami’s right and he hasn’t seen what Sami’s seen but for the first-time ever there’s dissension in The Bloodline and that’s because of Sami Zayn. Cody says he won the Royal Rumble this year and he intends to finish his story at WrestleMania and on Saturday night, Sami needs to finish his story and defeat Roman Reigns. Cody fires up the crowd, Sami is getting emotional and Cody says he doesn’t want to see Sami on RAW next Monday night…because he wants to see him at WrestleMania. Cody and Sami lock eyes as Cody’s music hits and both men exit.

We then see Carmella backstage. Nikki Cross approaches and says she’s excited to play with her new friend. Carmella asks where Asuka is and the former champion approaches. Carmella storms off and Asuka and Nikki come face-to-face. Candice LeRae walks in and asks Nikki about what’s been going on with her recently. Nikki laughs in Candice’s face and walks off as we head to a commercial break.

Back from the break and we see Cathy Kelley backstage, who re-welcomes Baron Corbin. Baron says he’s not worried about JBL because he’s a has been. Baron says he’s sick of being disrespected and he won’t be interrupted by Sami Zayn ever again and says that Roman Reigns is going to embarrass Sami at Elimination Chamber. Baron says Roman will walk through Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania because Cody was given everything, including the number 30 spot in the Royal Rumble. Baron calls Cody Rhodes, Cody’s brother, and Cody’s father all jokes. Cody is lurking around in the background and attacks Baron. Cody’s still in his suit during all of this and tells a referee to come down to the ring with them. Cody continues his attack on Baron and tosses him into the ring. Baron fights back and tells the referee to ring the bell and we have an impromptu match.

Cody Rhodes vs. Baron Corbin

Cody tosses Baron to the outside and launches him into the barricade. Baron shoves Cody throat first into the top of the barricade but Cody fires Baron into the ring post. Baron drags Cody onto the announce table but Cody sends Baron into the barricade than into the steel steps. Both competitors get back into the ring, Cody goes up top and cracks Corbin with a diving axe-handle. Cody plants Baron with the Cody Cutter and hits Cross Rhodes for the 1-2-3!

Winner – Cody Rhodes

Backstage, we see Raquel Rodriguez, Natalya, and Liv Morgan. Natalya says Liv Morgan is too worried about herself and she and Liv start yelling at one another. A brawl breaks out with all six competitors and Raquel, Liv, and Natalya stand tall in the ring as Asuka, Carmella, and Nikki recover on the outside as we head to a commercial break. Back from the break and Liv and Nikki are the legal participants. Liv crushes Nikki in the corner with a splash then drills her with a missile drop-kick off of the top turnbuckle. Nikki escapes to her corner and makes the tag to Asuka, who lights Liv up with a bevy of strikes and goes for the cover but Liv Natalya makes the save.

A brawl breaks out between everyone, Asuka cracks Raquel with a super-kick and plants Nikki with a German suplex before doing the same to Carmella. Asuka is just taking everyone out, including her own teammates and locks an arm-bar on Liv and Liv taps out!

Winners – Asuka, Nikki Cross, and Carmella

Backstage we see Maxine Dupri, Mace, and Mansoor. Maxine walk up to Chad Gable and Otis and hands them her card. Gable says he did some modeling back in the day but Maxine interrupts him and says she’s actually interested in Otis. Maxine, Mace, and Mansoor walk off and Bronson Reed is shown walking through the corridors and he’ll face Mustafa Ali after the break.

Bronson Reed vs. Mustafa Ali

Ali sends Reed to the corner but Reed comes back and crushes Ali with a leaping shoulder block. Ali kicks Reed back and starts chopping at the legs of the big man but Reed launches him to the outside. Reed gets on the apron and lays Ali out with a diving shoulder tackle from the apron before sending Ali back into the ring. Ali nails Reed with a drop-kick and knocks Reed off of the apron with a Pele kick. Ali dives onto the outside but Reed catches his and fires him over the barricade and into some steel chairs. Reed drags Ali’s motionless body back into the ring and looks for a power-bomb but Ali flips behind Reed, springboards off the middle rope and plants Reed with a tornado DDT before going for the cover but Reed kicks out. Reed catches All who looks for another diving attack but Reed slams him, goes up top and comes crashing down on Ali with Tsunami and gets the 1-2-3!

Winner – Bronson Reed

We then see highlights of The Judgement Day’s attack on Edge and Beth Phoenix. Backstage, Cathy Kelley is with Edge and Beth. Edge says he’s sick of The Judgment Day and Beth says this Saturday at Elimination Chamber, they’re going to remind The Judgment Day exactly why they’re called the grit couple.

Back at the ring, The Miz is making his way down to the ring and Miz TV with The Miz and Seth Rollins will go down after the break.

Back from the break and The Miz is in the ring and welcomes everyone to the latest edition of Miz TV. Miz asks everyone why he isn’t in the elimination chamber match this Saturday. Miz stops himself from complaining and introduces tonight’s special guest, Seth Freakin’ Rollins. ‘The Architect’ is sporting the viral big red boots that set social media ablaze over the last week or so. Miz asks Rollins ‘what are those?!’ and Rollins says it’s fashion, something Miz will never know about. Miz turns the conversation back to wrestling and asks Rollins where his head is at, Logan Paul or the elimination chamber? Rollins tells Miz that nobody wants to talk about that and everyone just wants to sing. Rollins leads the crowd with his theme song and Miz interrupts and says he’d rather listen to Taylor Swift and everyone is jealous because he has tickets to see her and nobody else does.

Rollins says his mom always told him if he doesn’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Miz says Rollins’ mother is probably disappointed in him because he got eliminated in the Royal Rumble by Logan Paul. Miz asks Rollins why he won’t talk about Logan Paul and Seth yells ‘shutup, Mike!’. The crowd chants ‘shutup, Mike!’ and Rollins says the reason he doesn’t want to talk about Logan Paul is because of WrestleMania…because that’s his dream. Rollins says he, Miz, and everyone in the arena loves professional wrestling and the crowd starts humming his theme song. Rollins says Logan Paul doesn’t care about professional wrestling and calls Logan selfish and soul-less and claims that Logan only cares about money. Rollins says he doesn’t want to talk about Logan Paul is because Logan doesn’t deserve it because all he cares about is attention but what he deserves is to get his teeth kicked in.

Miz says it sounds like Rollins is jealous and Rollins says he knows Miz is stupid, but he didn’t think he was this stupid. Miz says he isn’t stupid and the crowd chants ‘yes you are!’. Rollins asks the crowd if Miz is stupid, which is answered by a resounding ‘YES!’ chant. Miz keeps saying he isn’t stupid and says he and Rollins are the only two-time Grand Slam Champions in WWE history but unlike Rollins, he’s headlined WrestleMania, which is something Miz won’t do because of Logan Paul. Rollins attacks Miz and cracks him with one of the set’s chairs. Rollins lines Miz up for a stomp but United States Champion Austin Theory attacks Rollins form behind. Miz looks for the Skull Crushing Finale but Rollins nails Miz with a super-kick and plants Miz with a stomp. Theory comes back in and plants Rollins with A-Town Down and stands over Rollins with his United States Title.

Backstage, we see Rick Boots warming up and Elias approaches him. Elias says he’s heard all of the comparisons between the two of them and says it could be a lot of pressure to be compared to him (Elias). Boogs thanks Elias and Elias says if Boogs impresses him tonight against The Miz, maybe they can collaborate one day. Boogs says ‘Thick Rick is going to shred The Miz’ tonight and he heads to the ring.

We cut back to the ring and The Miz is still down after the attack from Seth Rollins and we head to a commercial break.

Rick Boogs vs. The Miz

Boogs makes his way down to the ring and Miz grabs a microphone and says after what just happened to him, there’s no way this match is happening right now. However, the bell rings and Boogs plants Miz with an overhead slam. Boogs scoops and slams Miz after curling him 10 times as the crowd counted each curl with Boogs. A massive press slam lands for Boogs, who pins the Miz and gets the quick 1-2-3!

We then see Chelsea Green backstage with Adam Pearce. Chelsea says she sent some strongly worded emails to Pearce’s manager after what happened last week on both RAW and SmackDown. Pearce says he was sent the emails by Green because he’s the manager of both RAW and SmackDown. Pearce says there’s no way that’s going to happen and walks out as we head to a commercial break.

Damian says he’s going to walk out of Elimination Chamber as the new United States Champion and Rhea is going to walk out of WrestleMania as the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Rhea says Charlotte is a level below her and this Saturday she and Finn are going to kick-off WrestleMania season the right way when they get rid of Edge and Beth Phoenix once and for all.

Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick run down this Saturday’s card for the Elimination Chamber premium live event and we see a video package hyping up this weekend’s big event before we head to a commercial break ahead of tonight’s main event.

Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Bayley

If either Becky or Bayley win, the winner is added to the elimination chamber match at this weekend’s premium live event, but if Bianca wins, neither Becky nor Bayley will be added to the match.

A brawl and some quick covers start this one off. Becky goes for a Man Handle Slam on Bianca right away but Bianca avoids and Bayley enters the fray but get tossed aside by Bianca. Bayley comes back and shoves both Bianca and Becky to the corner and launches Becky to the outside. Bayley cracks Bianca with a sliding elbow to the back of the head and goes for the cover but Bianca kicks out. Bayley is working over Bianca with the middle rope around the champion’s neck and snaps Bianca’s head back down to the mat. Bianca fights back and starts unloading strikes onto Bayley but the Damage CTRL leader plants Bianca with a back-body drop and goes for the cover but Bianca lifts the shoulders at two. Becky comes in but Bayley tosses her right back to the outside and locks in an ankle lock on Bianca. The RAW Women’s Champion is struggling but Becky comes out of nowhere and dives down onto the back of Bayley’s beck with a diving leg drop and goes for the cover but Bianca breaks it up.

Bianca slams Bayley face-first into the top turnbuckle and goes for the cover but Becky breaks it up.

Becky rolls Bianca up but the champion kicks out. Becky goes up top, Bianca rushes to the top rope and looks for a super-plex but Bayley comes back into the ring and plants them both with a power-bomb and goes for the cover on Bianca, she kicks out, Bayley quickly goes for the cover on Becky, but she also kicks out! Bayley stacks Bianca on top of Becky and climbs to the top rope and looks for a diving elbow drop but Bianca moves out of the way but Bayley got all of it on Becky, and Bayley covers Becky but Bianca breaks it up. Bianca cracks Bayley with a trio of drop-kicks and sends Becky to the corner, where she unloads a bevy of punches onto the former champion. Bianca plants Bayley with a suplex and goes for her patented springboard moonsault but Bayley gets the knees up. Bayley rolls Bianca up with her foot on the ropes but Becky breaks it up.

Bayley sends Bianca to the corner, Bianca knocks her back, Becky climbs in the ring and plants Bianca with a super-plex. Becky nails Bayley with the Man Handle Slam and goes for the cover but Bianca launches Becky out of the ring. Cody Rhodes on The Elite/CM Punk Brawl at AEW All Out: ‘That Bummed Me Out’

0

Cody Rhodes opened up on the fight between The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) and CM Punk at the AEW All Out pay-per-view last September.

The Elite have since returned to TV while Punk, who suffered an injury in the All Out main event, is still on the sidelines. AEW President Tony Khan has yet to comment on Punk’s status with the promotion.

Rhodes was one of the names that helped launch the promotion in 2019. While appearing on Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour, Rhodes commented on the Brawl Out incident.

The Next Day

Rhodes recalled waking up to 63 text messages and was worried that someone from AEW said something about him at the press conference.

Rhodes noted he still has a great relationship with The Young bucks and Omega. He admitted it was tested by them being younger executives and having different opinions on wrestling, but that made them work. He said they’re bonded forever because of that. He also had a great relationship with Punk and had dinner with him every week in AEW.

Rhodes went on to talk about his relationships with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, noting that it was indeed tested by their differing opinions on the sport of pro wrestling. Rhodes also talked about his relationship with CM Punk, noting that they had a great relationship despite not talking much.

“So when I watched it just from me sitting there, I was not — there was some people texting me. I remember somebody texted me, ‘Man, you’re the smartest guy in the room. I wanted to write back like, ‘F— you, man.’ I don’t feel that way. I feel this thing we built got damaged. I’m not putting any blame on anybody. Sorry, super Switzerland.”

The Brawl

Rhodes stated he doesn’t put any of the blame on anybody but didn’t like to see it.

“I just hated seeing that, because as the company grows, and I hope it continues to grow, I hope people remember the mission in the first place and why we were there. If you bring in people who don’t know the mission, then things like that can happen.

I’m not saying he didn’t know the mission or anything of that nature, but I was just bummed out. That’s how I felt, I was bummed out. because I have — you win the title, it’s a feather in your cap. You win the Royal Rumble, it’s a feather in your cap. Building an alternative wrestling promotion is definitely a feather in the cap. I don’t want that to be erased. I don’t want that to go away.”

“Plus, there’s not as many jobs in wrestling as people think. There’s about 1000 people who work there structurally, infrastructure and talent. I’m proud of them. I want to make sure they’re able to feed their families and that was a situation that was so big and heavy. I don’t think it was helpful. I don’t know, maybe you could make it helpful. Maybe you can do something with it. That’s how I felt.

No heat on Punk. No heat on Matt, Nick, Kenny, or Tony, I was just bummed out when I saw it. That’s not how we envisioned it. The spirit of ‘All In,’ if you ever lose the spirit, you’re lost. I think the spirit was gone in that moment, doesn’t mean can’t get it back, but it was just a bummer.”

Rhodes departed from AEW last year to make his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. Rhodes will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 39 this month.

Jacy Jayne Looks Forward To “Breaking Out” Of Toxic Attraction

0

Following the exit of Mandy Rose last December, Toxic Attraction tried their best to stay afloat, but ultimately, Jacy Jayne decided to sink their ship for good.

After their partnership lingered on shaky terms for several weeks, Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin have officially separated. In the final segment of WWE NXT last week, the two gathered form a special edition of ” Ding Dong Hello” hosted by RAW star Bayley. As Jayne and Dolin appeared to patch up their friendship with a hug, Jayne had other ideas — delivering a superkick to her long-time tag team partner before busting Dolin’s head into the “Ding Dong Hello” door.

Following her shocking betrayal, Jacy Jayne issued a series of statements on Monday’s edition of Busted Open Radio. When asked about the buzz her actions generated inside the professional wrestling world, Jayne felt her actions were justified.

“I feel like being in Toxic Attraction, I was kind of always a third wheel. Everybody always talks about Mandy because she’d been here for so long. Everybody always watches everything she does. Then you have Gigi, who had a huge name on the indies before she came to NXT, and everybody kind of looked at me and was like, ‘Well, who the hell is that girl?’ So now for everybody to actually be paying attention and have my name in their mouths and now I’m the talk of the town, that’s huge for me. That’s all I’ve wanted for a really long time. So, I’m happy about it,” she said.

“It’s Jacy Jayne Time!”

Jayne continued, offering more insight into her decision to fully end Toxic Attraction, which primarily began after their leader — Mandy Rose — had been released from the company in mid-December. Jayne admitted the initial split wasn’t easy, but more than anything, she craved the opportunity to finally stand on her own.

“I think recently I’ve been starting to get more credit for everything, especially, honestly, after Mandy left. As sad as that whole situation was and we tried to make the most of it going forward, I feel like that kind of helps me break out of this Toxic Attraction shell,” Jayne explained. People were paying attention to me more and listening to what I had to say. I haven’t gotten a lot of credit while we’re all together, but now I’m starting to show my character and how much I’ve grown over the last year and a half, two years.”

“So, I think this was, honestly, my breakout moment. Even at Vengeance Day, it was kind of sink or swim for us. ‘Now you’re on your own, you have to prove that you can do it by yourself.’ So, I went into that match with that my frame you need to kill this performance, because if not, you don’t know what’s going to happen going forward.”

Peeling back the curtain a bit, Jayne revealed a lot of her recent actions were fueled by some real-life emotion. “I was trying to make a statement. So, when we were doing it, I wanted the cameras to get close to me to hear what I had to say in that moment. I feel like a lot of that was real. Obviously in this business, you need to, at some point, be selfish and put yourself first to get to that next level, and I want to be on that next level,” she explained. “I want people to take me seriously and see me as a heavy hitter in the women’s division. So, that’s what I did. I wanted to make a statement, I wanted to make an impact, and I did it in the best way I knew how.”

“I feel like this was really my breakout moment where now all eyes are on me, and I have the control to make my own destiny going forward. Obviously, I want to be at the top of the division. So, whoever I have to step on to get there, I’m going to do that.

Kurt Angle Reveals Why He Plans On Attending This Year’s WrestleMania

0

Kurt Angle reveals why this year’s WrestleMania will be the first he plans on attending in a long time.

Angle recently took to his podcast, “The Kurt Angle Show,” and noted that he currently is planning on staying for the first-half of WrestleMania. The Olympic Gold Medalist noted that he really wants to attend in order to see Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes.

He added that he might even extend his trip to stay for the second night of WrestleMania, as he believes Rhodes is going to win the World Title. Angle will also be in town for an appearance for WrestleCon.

“Right now, my flight plans leave Sunday morning. I’ll watch the first half of Wrestlemania. I might stay and extend my flight to the next day, but I want to watch Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes because I believe he’s going to win the title.

“I’m doing an appearance for WrestleCon. I believe I’m going to do some stuff for WWE as well. I plan on going to Wrestlemania for one day. I’m really excited about it. This is the first Wrestlemania I’ve gone to in a while.”

Cody Rhodes won the 2023 Royal Rumble

Cody Rhodes won this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match, punching his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania 39 in Las Angeles. Now, he’ll challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.

Reigns has been on a dominant run as World Champion for the past few years, and Rhodes is looking to bring his family their first WWE World Title, a longtime goal of his that he has been very adamant about achieving since returning to the company last year.

Mercedes Moné Is Teasing A Dream Match Against Legendary Women’s Champion

0

With the announcement of the upcoming joint show between IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, the “forbidden door” has busted wide open yet again.

Scheduled to take place Thursday, March 30, at the Globe Theater in Los Angeles, the event, titled Multiverse United: Only The STRONG Survive, will feature a stacked card of cross-promotion matchups. So far, three official bouts have been laid out: Will Ospreay versus Mike Bailey, KUSHIDA versus IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander, and Jeff Cobb versus Moose.

According to the press release, several other stars will be joining the spectacle. X Division Champion Trey Miguel, Ace Austin, and Chris Bey will be amongst those representing IMPACT, while the likes of KENTA, Rocky Romero, and Minoru Suzuki will perform on behalf of NJPW. In addition, most of the Knockouts division will be present — a detail that caught the attention of fans, and talent themselves.

“Ooooh The Possibilities…”

Mercedes Mone

Following the news of Multiverse United, many fans, and Knockouts Champion Mickie James, quickly pointed out a multitude of possibilities for additional matches on the card.

One popular suggestion included the highly anticipated singles meeting between James and NJPW’s newest recruit, Mercedes Moné, and it appears that Moné is behind the idea.

As one fan (Wrestling Galaxy) made their pitch for the match on Instagram, Moné reposted the photo of herself and Mickie James to her personal Instagram story, seemingly indicating her interest in the “dream” affair.

As Moné continues to tease a match between the two, Mickie James spoke with SEScoops last month about Moné’s journey into free agency. Amidst the discussion, James revealed she’s been yearning for a singles match with the former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion.

“I’ve never had a singles match with Sasha [Banks] and I would really, really love to have a singles match with Mercedes … I’m excited too, because I feel she has an opportunity now to do it her way, and she wanted to do a lot of things, and now she gets to go do them, and she can go test herself against whoever she wants to and show up everywhere. That’s what I hope, she shows up everywhere. Come on over to IMPACT!” James said.

Before this potential contest can even be entertained, though, both women pivot their focus to their upcoming championship matches. On February 18, Mercedes Moné laces up her boots against KAIRI to challenge for the IWGP Women’s Championship at NJPW’s Battle At The Valley. On February 24, Mickie James put her IMPACT Knockouts Championship on the line at No Surrender against “The Russian Dynamite,” Masha Slamovich.

Seth Rollins ‘Slighted’ He’s Not Involved In WrestleMania Main Event

0

Seth Rollins feels “slighted” that he’s not involved in the WrestleMania 39 main event this year.

This year’s Royal Rumble match was won by none other than Cody Rhodes. Meaning, Rhodes will go on to headline this year’s “Show Of Shows” against Roman Reigns, challenging for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

One of the last men eliminated from the Royal Rumble match, just missing out on punching their own ticket to WrestleMania, was Seth Rollins. Rollins was eliminated by Logan Paul from the match, setting up a likely feud between the pair moving forward.

With that being said, Rollins recently did an interview with Sports Guys Talking Wrestling‘s Stew Myrick at Super Bowl LVIII. During the interview, Rollins was asked about missing out on the main event this year.

While Rollins admits he wants that spot very badly, he also understands why two superstars as hot as Reigns and Rhodes at the moment have been given the nod. He even acknowledged that someone like Sami Zayn might even be a candidate that should’ve gotten the opportunity as well.

“I want that match, I want that spot. I want that title and I do not have it. There’s a lot of salt in the wound of having to talk about it. It’s difficult for me to analyze. I will say you’re looking at a rock and a hard place.

“You’ve got Roman Reigns, who is on an incredible run, but you’ve got Cody Rhodes, who is riding a lot of momentum. When those two guys meet, if that is the match — it could be Sami Zayn in that spot, we’ll see after Elimination Chamber — it’s going to be a generational main event at WrestleMania.”

Seth Rollins RAW sk

Rollins added that it’s hard to feel anything other than “slighted” by being left out of the main event, but will support his fellow WWE Superstars regardless, and suggests the bout will still be one to remember.

“Again, it’s hard for me to feel anything but slighted by it, so that is what it is. But, I will take a page out of [fellow guest Renee Manfredi’s] book and I will support my family, my brothers regardless of the outcome.

“It’s not about winning and losing, it’s how you play the game. It’s going to be an incredible main event at WrestleMania no matter what it is.”

Despite not being involved in the WrestleMania main event this year, Rollins is still undoubtedly one of WWE’s biggest stars. He could very well head into WrestleMania with some gold around his waist.

Rollins is scheduled to challenge for the WWE United States Title inside the Elimination Chamber on February 18 against defending champion Austin Theory, Johnny Gargano, Bronson Reed, Damian Priest, and Montez Ford.

Current WWE Elimination Chamber Betting Odds

0

As WWE revs up for Elimination Chamber this Saturday, the betting odds are in.

So far, four matches have been announced for the Montreal, Quebec, Canada pay-per-view, with a bout between Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar likely becoming official tonight on RAW.

Of the two titles on the line at Elimination Chamber, neither are favored to change hands. However, the margin of odds for Austin Theory retaining the United States Championship remain close, with Seth “Freakin” Rollins lingering as a close contender right behind him.

As Bianca Belair looks to lock in her WrestleMania 39 opponent, one name has emerged as the heavy favorite to claim the title of number one contender inside the chamber structure this weekend. 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley looks to secure some momentum heading into her WrestleMania 39 match against Charlotte Flair. Before she vies for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Ripley will team with fellow Judgement Day member Finn Balor to take on WWE Hall of Famers Edge and Beth Phoenix in a mixed tag team match on the February 18 event.

AEW’s Ricky Starks Announces Non-Wrestling Business Venture

0

Ricky Starks has made a name for himself as part of All Elite Wrestling, and now the wrestler is looking to leave his mark in the world of fashion.

Starks made his AEW debut in June 2020 answering Cody Rhodes’ TNT Championship open challenge and was signed after coming up short to the American Nightmare.

Starks has one reign as FTW Champion to his name, a win in the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale, and won last year’s AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament.

Fashion

Starks is always dressed to impress when he appears on AEW programming, and now has plans to launch his own clothing line.

On Twitter, Starks announced his clothing brand ‘Dream Palace’ and said it will be coming soon.

The former FTW Champion’s tweet got a response from Mark Henry, who expressed his support for the endeavor.

This is hardly the first time Starks has shown interest in the fashion world, as during a 2021 appearance on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, he cited Tom Ford, Alexander Wang and Gucci as his primary designers.

Wrestling with Fashion

Ricky Starks is by no means the only wrestler to set his sights on the fashion world.

In 2018, WWE Superstar Finn Balor began his own apparel line PE&K, while Chris Jericho launched his Painmaker line in 2020.

Impact Wrestling’s Al Snow also remains the co-founder of the popular “Collar X Elbow” clothing brand while Randy Orton announced the launch of his SLTHR apparel line on Instagram in 2020.

Latest on Jay White’s NJPW Situation After Loser Leaves Japan Match – WWE Interest

0

Jay White came up short in the recent Loser Leaves Japan match, and the New Zealand-born wrestler is keeping true to his word.

At NJPW New Beginning in Osaka, White lost to Hikuleo, taking a pinfall defeat to his opponent following a chokeslam.

White had agreed to the stipulation at New Japan’s New Year Sash event the previous month.

Moving Day

According to the latest report from Fightful Select, White is looking to make a “move back” over to the United States.

White joined the NJPW dojo in 2015 and has been with the company ever since, and has held both the IWGP and IWGP World Heavyweight Championships.

While the stipulation said he must leave Japan, there has been speculation that he could remain with New Japan as part of the America-based New Japan Strong.

White will compete for New Japan this weekend at Battle in the Valley, where he will take on AEW’s Eddie Kingston.

WWE Interest

White has proven himself in New Japan for years, so it is hardly surprising that WWE has shown interest in the wrestler.

Fightful’s report adds that WWE felt confident that they could get White to join the company, but now “that hardly is guaranteed at this point” in time.

Different sources in WWE have stated that everything related to the possibility of him coming to WWE is “being kept very quiet.”

Contrary to what some may believe, White’s name was never discussed for the WWE Men’s Royal Rumble match, despite an official WWE tweet teasing his involvement.

NJPW told Fightful that they believe White’s contract will expire sometime between Battle in the Valley (February 18) and WrestleMania 39 (April 1.)

Kansas City Chiefs Celebrate Super Bowl Victory with Custom WWE Championship

0

The Kansas City Chiefs are once again back on top of the world of Football with their third Super Bowl Championship win.

In a close-fought game, the Chiefs bested the Philadelphia Eagles 35 to 38 to win another Championship ring, following Super Bowl victories in 2020 and 1970.

The two teams tied in the first quarter, before the Eagles pulled ahead in the second, and the Chiefs were able to pull back in the second half of the all-important game.

After the game, Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes received a custom WWE Championship which was waiting for the team in their locker room.

The Championship belt was not the only wrestling-themed part of this year’s Super Bowl, as Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce celebrated early into the game with John Cena’s iconic ‘You Can’t See Me’ hand gesture.

Custom Championships

WWE has given out numerous custom belts to winning sports teams in recent years, including the Super Bowl 2022 winners the Los Angeles Rams last year.

WWE’s efforts extend far beyond the gridiron, as the team gifted a championship to Chelsea FC for their Premier League win in 2017.

In 2021, Drew McIntyre personally gifted a WWE Championship to Rangers F.C. following their victory in the Scottish Premiership.

After winning the Australian Open men’s doubles last year, Tennis stars Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis (known affectionately as the Special Ks) were awarded a title with custom side plates.

WWE has also produced custom titles for victors in golf, the WNBA, various motorsports, and more.

Latest on the Status of The Usos for WWE Elimination Chamber 2023

0

The Usos may be making an appearance at WWE Elimination Chamber after all, despite previous travel restrictions due to legal issues.

This weekend’s event will be WWE’s first Premium Live Event in the Great White North since Breaking Point 2009 and will be headlined by Roman Reigns Vs. Sami Zayn.

The event will take place in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal, Quebec, and will also feature two Elimination Chamber matches for the U.S. title, and for a shot at the Raw Women’s Championship.

The Usos

During the latest episode of SmackDown, Paul Heyman said that the Usos will be watching next week’s SmackDown and Elimination Chamber from home.

Many saw this as WWE’s way to write off the brothers, who have faced travel restrictions for years due to a series of DUIs.

During the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that the pair will be allowed to travel to Canada.

“I was told they’re okay. I will check again, but when it first came up, I asked if they’re cleared for Canada, and I was told they’re both cleared. I’m not sure if it’s a swerve, or a storyline, but they’re cleared to show up.”

Dave Meltzer.

It remains unclear if The Usos will appear at WWE Elimination Chamber, only that they are able to.

Legal Troubles

The Usos have both experienced legal issues over DUIs which have affected their wrestling careers.

In September 2011, Jimmy was arrested and charged with a DUI after he blew twice the legal limit in the state of Florida.

In March 2013, he was arrested again for arrested for violating his probation by driving with a suspended license.

It was in January 2018 that Jey was arrested for DWI in Texas, after driving from a WWE live event, and was released the same day after posting a $500 personal recognizance bond.

In February 2019, Jimmy was arrested in Detroit after a dispute with police officers, who claimed they could smell alcohol from the inside.

In July 2019, Jimmy was arrested yet again near Pensacola, Florida and was charged with a DUI, but found not guilty by an Escambia country judge that December.

Two years later, Jimmy was arrested again in July 2021, blew close to triple the legal limit, and was booked on a misdemeanor DUI charge.

Lance Archer Tweets About Frustrations

0

Lance Archer was a key wrestler in the early days of AEW, particularly the Pandemic Era at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville.

Back in 2021, Archer suffered a neck injury against Eddie Kingston. He did a moonsault from the top rope and landed on his head. He returned to TV in January 2022. Archer went to Japan to compete in the G1 a few months later.

Lance Archer’s Frustrations

Lance Archer
(via AEW)

On Sunday, Archer tweeted “51 days since I laced up my boots last! NOT by choice!”

Archer hasn’t wrestled since December 23, 2022 for New Japan. Suzuki-Gun had their final match in an 8-man match against each other. Prior to that, Archer had been competing in the World Tag League as Minoru Suzuki’s partner.

The “Murderhawk Monster’s” last AEW match was on November 18, 2022. He lost to Ricky Starks in the first round of AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. Prior to that, he had mostly been relegated to Elevation and Dark, except for competing in the AEW World Title #1 Contendership Grand Slam Golden Ticket Battle Royal.

Judging by his tweet, creative (in either AEW or NJPW) has nothing for him. His manager, Jake “The Snake” Roberts recently made his return to the company. He was named a special advisor to AEW Together, their outreach program.

Tony Khan: AEW Wrestlers Tell Me They’ve Been Approached by WWE

0

AEW President Tony Khan has claimed that WWE is partaking in contract tampering by speaking to several stars under All-Elite deals.

Since being founded in 2019, AEW and WWE have been at odds, as seen with the Wednesday Night Wars which saw Khan’s promotion emerge victorious.

The two promotions have occasionally aligned, with Khan allowing AEW talent to appear via video to celebrate John Cena’s 20th anniversary on WWE’s main roster last June.

Contract Tampering

Multiple names from AEW once called WWE home, though Vince McMahon was able to bring back AEW EVP Cody Rhodes in April 2022.

Speaking on the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, Tony Khan said he’s consistently approached by talent who claim WWE are speaking to them. Here’s what he said, courtesy of POST Wrestling:

“I can’t really comment on what their (WWE) internal struggles, internal strife’s are because I don’t work there and I’m not there. I can only speak to the challenges we’ve had.

“I got a lot of wrestlers come to me and allege that WWE reached out to them to tamper with their contracts and ask them to break their contracts. I can’t confirm that specifically. I can only tell you what the wrestlers have come to me and said.”

Tony Khan.

Khan didn’t name who WWE has allegedly contacted, but called the action “very disturbing.”

On WWE’s Radar

There’s no shortage of prominent names that WWE would love to snatch away from AEW and use to draw viewers to their own product.

In January 2022, it was reported that WWE had shown interest in Wardlow, and have also reportedly shown interest in Brian Cage.

The biggest name WWE has reportedly shown interest in is AEW World Champion MJF, who has teased leaving to join WWE when his AEW deal expires on January 1, 2024.

Undertaker Rumor Killer: “100% NOT What I Said to Bray!”

0

The Undertaker understands why fans compare Bray Wyatt to his WWE character, but he doesn’t think that comparison does Wyatt any favors.

The Hall of Fame legend appeared on Tim and Friends this week to promote his upcoming stage show that’s taking place in Montreal during Elimination Chamber weekend.

Last month at the Raw 30th Anniversary special, Undertaker and Wyatt got fans buzzing with a brief-yet-surreal in-ring interaction that saw Taker whisper something into Wyatt’s ear.

Everybody wants to know what he said to Wyatt that night. The Undertaker would not spill the beans, but did acknowledge, “it was a cool moment” that “did exactly what I thought it would do.”

The Undertaker on Bray Wyatt Comparisons

Bray Wyatt Lights Out Match

The Undertaker is considered the greatest ‘gimmick’ in pro wrestling history. There have been countless supernatural characters throughout the years, but nobody has made an impact like him.

Undertaker says there’s obviously a huge amount of comparisons between Wyatt’s character and his, but Wyatt is his own man and his own character.

In the big scheme of things, obviously it’s kind of in that same supernatural genre, but it’s 2023, and he’s doing his own thing. I can appreciate, I can see what he’s trying to do.

– The Undertaker on Bray Wyatt

Undertaker says he’s told Bray Wyatt that “his phone is always on” and he’s happy to guide Wyatt, if he ever wants to run creative ideas by him. He’s got a wealth of experience and could help shine a lot on some of the questions Wyatt may have.

If you’re in the Montreal area next weekend, catch UNDERTAKER: 1 deadMAN SHOW on Thursday, February 16 at L’Olympia. For more information, visit WWE.com.

Update (2/12/23): Several other news outlets misinterpreted The Undertaker’s comments about what he said to Bray Wyatt at Raw 30. The Undertaker did not reveal what he whispered to Wyatt that night and is keeping it a secret.

As stated during his Tim & Friends interview, The Undertaker told Wyatt “my phone is always on, if you ever want to run ideas by me” in a separate interaction. He set the record straight on Instagram:

MJF Asked to Sign a Female Fan’s Chest – Hilarity Ensues (Watch)

0

All Elite Wrestling World Champion MJF recently had a hilarious encounter with a female fan in El Paso, Texas. After winning against Konosuke Takeshita in this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, a female fan approached MJF and asked him to sign her chest.

MJF recounted this interaction in a tweet, where he called the female fan a “skank” and said that he was close to signing the female fan’s chest. However, she did not have a sharpie on hand. MJF said “You were this close to getting your t*****s signed you stupid b***h!” to the female fan and began to walk away.

The other fans with her came to the rescue and yelled that they have a marker. Hearing this, MJF returned to do the autograph signing. However, the AEW World Champion noticed that someone was recording the whole interaction, and he decided against signing the female fan’s chest and simply walked away.

In his tweet, MJF wrote, “Some skank in El Paso tried to get me to sign her breasts outside the arena. Multiple people recorded it. Still hasn’t made its way to twitter. Prob cuz people in El Paso don’t know how to use technology.”

You can check out the video interaction as well, but it contains partial nudity so NSFW warning:

MJF is known for being one of the best heels in the professional wrestling industry today. His interactions with fans go viral as he always stays in character even when outside the ring.

When it comes to the ring, MJF will face off against Bryan Danielson in the first sixty-minute Iron Man match for the AEW World Championship on March 5 at Revolution 2023.

Jake Roberts Recalls Fan Shooting At Him During A Show

0

Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts comes from a very different era of wrestling. Fans took wrestling more seriously during his prime and things used to be wilder. This includes being attacked by people outside of shows and in at least one instance, being shot at by a fan in the arena.

The wrestling legend recently had an interview with Derricks Reptiles. He talked about things such as bulls**ting his way into his WWE role and more.

When asked to share a crazy fan story from his time, Roberts recalled the one show in Dallas Texas where he was wrestling with Sting:

“Craziest one would have been in Dallas, Texas. I was wrestling Sting. A guy stood up in the ninth row, reached in his jacket. [He] pulled out a pistol and started shooting at me. He got three shots off. Missed me. That’s about as crazy as it gets. I jumped my ass out of that ring, got underneath the ring and hid.”

– Jake Roberts

Jake Roberts was also asked what is the one thing he would tell Vince McMahon that he never did. The former WWE star replied with ‘Go f**k yourself.”

Apart from this, Roberts told a crazy road story from the time he was travelling with The Undertaker and they went to a bar.

You can check out his full interview in the video below:

CM Punk Shares Forgiveness Message Amid AEW Suspension

0

Is CM Punk ready to forgive The Elite over what happened at AEW All Out 2022, or is Punk hoping to be forgiven?

Once AEW’s top star, Punk has been suspended from AEW for his comments and actions after the now-infamous September 2022 Pay-Per-View.

Out of all the names suspended from AEW following All Out, Punk is the only person whose future with AEW remains unclear.

Forgiveness

As Punk made abundantly clear during his All Out post-show media scrum tirade, he has had issues with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks.

The two-time former AEW World Champion has accused the three (currently in their second reign as AEW Trios Champions) of spreading false stories about him.

On Instagram Stories, Punk shared a video about forgiveness in which it is said that forgiveness does not excuse someone to hurt you again.

Though the video has since expired, a fan shared a clip on Twitter.

What’s Next for CM Punk?

Tony Khan has refused to speak about Punk in all interviews since his suspension, which also resulted in the Chicago-Made star being stripped of the AEW World Championship.

It has been reported that Punk is seeking a buyout of his AEW contract, something that Tony Khan is in no hurry to grant, believing he could jump to WWE.

Chris Jericho called Punk a “cancer” following his actions at All Out, and WWE’s Seth Rollins used similar verbiage last month when asked about the controversial star.

It has also been reported that people from both WWE and AEW are under the impression that Punk returning to either company is a bad idea and that he will only cause more trouble.

Punk himself has yet to publicly comment on his AEW status.

JBL-Baron Corbin Split “Wasn’t the Plan” for WWE (Report)

0

WWE made the call to end the pairing of Baron Corbin and John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield this week, but that wasn’t always the plan.

In late 2022, the former WWE Champion was introduced as Corbin’s manager, something that Layfield had openly spoken in favor of doing for years.

Despite a four-match winning streak with JBL in his corner, Corbin has been win-less on TV and at WWE live events since the November 21, 2022, edition of Raw.

Wasn’t The Plan

During this week’s Raw, the pairing of JBL and Corbin ended via backstage segment, after the latter suffered another loss, this time to Dexter Lumis.

During the latest Wrestling Observer Radio show, Dave Meltzer said that this wasn’t what WWE intended when they began the pairing.

“They gave up on it… this wasn’t the plan. The guy in charge, that’s Paul (Levesque), felt it wasn’t working and that was it.”

Dave Meltzer.

The End of Corbin’s Push

It was in 2016 that Corbin made an impactful main roster debut, winning the Andre the Giant WrestleMania battle royal.

A year later, Corbin was seemingly on the cusp of a World Championship reign when he captured the Money in the Bank briefcase, but his cash-in was unsuccessful.

On his show, Meltzer stated that despite multiple opportunities, the Lone Wolf just hasn’t reached the status WWE hoped for him.

“There’s nothing wrong or right with him but in the pantheon of stars, he’s just not at that top star level. I think they wanted him to be at that level and they gave him every chance to be at that level. He’s just a guy. A tall guy but he’s just a guy.”

WWE Referring to Two Current Superstars As “All-Time Greats” in Triple H Edict

0

Two WWE Superstars are to be referred to as some of the “all-time greats” in an edict from WWE’s Head of Creative and Head of Talent Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque.

The Game entered both roles in July 2022, replacing his father-in-law Vince McMahon in Creative, and WWE veteran John Lauriniatis in the Talent Relations department.

Triple H’s work thus far has been widely praised by fans, who have appreciated the rehiring of big names and talent being given more opportunities to showcase their characters.

All-Time Greats

WWE’s current roster is home to legends in the making, but two names have already reached the status of being ‘all-time greats.’

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is reported that Becky Lynch and Bayley will be referred to by the monikers going forward.

The Man and the Role Model have been feuding ever since the Raw after Summerslam 2022, when Damage CTRL attacked Lynch.

Returning to in-ring competition at Survivor Series: WarGames, the pair have continued feuding for months.

After Bayley and Damage CTRL once again got the upper hand at Raw is 30, Lynch bested her nemesis in a Steel Cage match this week, with an assist by the returning Lita.

Great Careers

Though some may find the label as ‘all-time great’ a tad premature for talent still wrestling today, Bayley and Lynch have some impressive claims to the moniker.

Lynch is a six-time Women’s Champion (two Raw, four SmackDown,) the winner of the 2019 Women’s Rumble match, and won the first-ever Women’s main event at WrestleMania.

Bayley is a four-time Women’s Champion (one Raw, one NXT, two SmackDown,) a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Champion, a Miss Money in the Bank winner, and was the first-ever WWE Women’s Triple Crown winner and WWE Women’s Grand Slam.

Dave Bautista Lands Role in Upcoming George R.R. Martin Movie Adaptation

Former WWE star Dave Bautista has landed another interesting role. This time he will be featured in the movie adaptation of a George R.R. Martin story.

Per Deadline, In The Lost Lands is an upcoming movie based on a short story written by the Game of Thrones creator. The former world champion will be starring alongside Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich in this fantasy adventure film:

“The movie will follow a queen, desperate to obtain the gift of shape-shifting, who makes a daring play: She hires the sorceress Gray Alys (Jovovich), a woman as feared as she is powerful.

Sent to the ghostly wilderness of the “Lost Lands,” Alys and her guide, the drifter Boyce (Bautista), must outwit and outfight man and demon in a fable that explores the nature of good and evil, debt and fulfilment, love and loss.”

Paul W.S. Anderson will be directing the movie starring the retired wrestling star. Anderson has also written the script for the upcoming project.

Dave Bautista has made a point to distinguish his characters from one another. In his own words, the Hollywood star does not care about being a star and he ‘just wants to be a better actor.’

The MCU star has received praise recently for his work in movies such as Glass Onion and Knock at the Cabin. The upcoming adaptation is only expected to add to his reputation.

0

Mercedes Mone has been making strides in the wrestling world this year after her WWE release. Her tag team partner Naomi however, has stayed mostly quiet about her future.

There has been rumors of her returning to the Vince McMahon-owned promotion but a latest announcement suggests that she isn’t planning a comeback after all.

The Emerald City Comic Con announced on Twitter recently that both Naomi and Mercedes will be joining the event on March 4 and 5:

“Welcome to #ECCC, Trinity Fatu (“Naomi”)! ? Trinity and her bestie, Mercedes Varnado, are tag-teaming Seattle March 4 and 5. Meet this duo at the brand-new Seattle Convention Center Summit building”

Mone made her NJPW debut during Wrestle Kingdom 17 earlier this year. She attacked the IWGP Women’s Champion Kairi during her first appearance.

The former Sasha Banks has been announced to challenge the Women’s title holder for the belt. This match will be taking place at NJPW Battle in the Valley in San Jose on February 18.

Naomi on the other hand has not made any wrestling appearances since the duo walked out of WWE back in May last year.

The former Women’s Champion has accompanied Mone on several red-carpet appearances. She has stayed quiet on her future plans in the wrestling business.

AEW Champions Re-Sign With The Company

Tony Khan has signed the AEW Tag Team Champions The Gunns to new contracts.

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured a controversial main event that left a lot of fans unhappy as Austin and Colten Gunn beat The Acclaimed to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

The title change was a surprise as many fans weren’t expecting it as The Acclaimed has been protected in recent months and is one of the most over acts in the entire promotion.

The Deal

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported today that both Austin and Colten have re-signed with the promotion and will remain with them for the foreseeable future, although specific details of the terms were not given. Fightful was able to confirm that they have signed multi-year deals with AEW.

Austin signed with AEW in January 2020 while Coten was never given an official ‘All Elite’ announcement when he joined his father, Billy, and brother, Austin, on television.

Although not confirmed, it’s likely All Elite Wrestling will book a rematch between the two tag teams for the gold at AEW’s next pay-per-view event, Revolution, which takes place on March 5.
