What Happened With Dolph Ziggler After WWE Raw Went Off The Air?

The July 11 episode of WWE Raw has come and gone but what happened after the show?

This edition of the red brand show emanated from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX. The episode featured the return of Brock Lesnar.

There was also a Raw Women’s Championship match between Bianca Belair and Carmella. Fans also witnessed WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley team up with Riddle to take on Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory and Seth Rollins.

When Cameras Stopped Rolling

Before the USA Network broadcast went off the air, Dolph Ziggler nailed Theory with a Super Kick. This was after Dolph cost Theory his tag team match against Riddle and Bobby Lashley.

Theory was caught in an RKO from Riddle and pinned. Theory had attempted to cheat by putting his feet on the ropes during a pin, but Dolph shoved him off. That caused a distraction, followed by the RKO.

There was no dark match when this week’s episode of WWE Raw went off the air. Instead, Dolph Ziggler posed for the crowd.

It’s important to note that WWE had been testing the waters with a Theory vs. Dolph program during a July 10 house show.

WWE had a digital exclusive where Carmella was interviewed after her count-out victory over Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Raw Talk was also aired after the USA Network broadcast.

Megastar to Appear on WWE Raw Next Week

A big star will be appearing on the July 18 episode of WWE Raw.

Next week’s edition of the show will be held inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. This episode of Raw will be the continuation of the road to SummerSlam, which will go down on July 30.

WWE recently signed a social media sensation a few short months after his impressive showing at WrestleMania 38.

He will be making his first appearance as a contracted WWE superstar very soon.

Logan Paul Coming to Raw

During the July 11 episode of Raw, WWE announced that Logan Paul will be featured on next week’s show. His appearance had been previously advertised by the arena but now it’s official.

For weeks, The Miz has urged Logan to team with him again and go after the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championships. The problem is, Miz turned on Paul following their tag team victory over Rey and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania earlier this year.

Logan has insisted that he doesn’t want to team with Miz. Instead, he wants to have a match against the “A-Lister.”

Miz has aligned himself with Ciampa and the numbers game has become an annoyance to AJ Styles. Perhaps we’re due for Logan and Styles vs. Miz and Ciampa for SummerSlam.

Time will tell if WWE goes in that direction.

Brock Lesnar Returns to WWE Raw, Destroys Tag Team (Video)

Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE Monday Night Raw and got physical.

Brock showed up at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX on July 11. His promo was interrupted by Paul Heyman, who promised that he will prepare Roman Reigns to conquer Brock one more time.

Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory then made his way out and reminded Brock that he hasn’t forgotten about being F5’d off the Elimination Chamber pod back in February.

Brock Lesnar Decimates Alpha Academy

Gable and Otis of Alpha Academy made the cardinal sin of trying to attack Brock Lesnar. They paid for it dearly, especially Otis.

Lesnar ended up attacking the former tag team champions with stairs and chairs. He then slammed Otis through the announce table with an F5.

Lesnar is scheduled to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship on July 30 at SummerSlam.

The action will be held inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

WWE RAW Results (7/11/22): Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman, Title Match, Dolph Ziggler Returns

0

WWE RAW aired live tonight from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. Brock Lesnar returned to deliver a warning to Roman Reigns ahead of their Last Man Standing match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WWE SummerSlam.

WWE RAW Results (7/11)

  • Finn Balor def. Rey Mysterio
  • Carmella def. Bianca Belair via count-out (Belair retains the RAW Women’s Championship)
  • AJ Styles & Ezekiel def. The Miz & Ciampa via DQ
  • Alexa Bliss & Asuka def. Doudrop & Nikki A.S.H.
  • Omos & The Usos def. R-Truth & The Street Profits
  • Riddle & Lashley def. Seth Rollins & Theory

Here are the takeaways from tonight’s WWE RAW:

Brock Lesnar Returned

Brock Lesnar returned to kick off this week’s WWE RAW. Lesnar last appeared a few weeks ago and attacked Roman Reigns. Last Friday on SmackDown, Paul Heyman told Roman Reigns that he had to become a savage to slay The Beast.

He kicked off his promo by saying “well God bless Texas” and thanked the crowd for the reaction. Lesnar said a Texas phrase “pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered” and vowed to slaughter Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam.

Paul Heyman quickly interrupted and the crowd greeted him with a “you suck!” chant. Heyman joked that Brock does not suck and complained that the barbaric nature of a Last Man Standing match plays right into The Beast’s hands.

Heyman noted that it doesn’t matter to Brock if he puts him down for a ten count or sends him to the morgue. Paul added that Brock is not a man, he is an avenging bad ass that wants revenge against his Tribal Chief.

Paul said that we are approaching 700 days as Roman Reigns as the champion and this is one streak that Brock Lesnar will not conquer. Heyman claimed that he is willing to train Roman Reigns to stick his hand up Brock’s ass and rip out Lesnar’s heart if he has to. Money in the Bank winner Theory interrupted and grabbed a microphone.

Theory stood on a platform that was next to the entrance ramp. Theory vowed to get his US Championship back at SummerSlam and cash in later in the night to become the youngest Undisputed WWE Universal Champion ever. Lesnar challenged him to a fight right now but Theory declined. Theory then rolled footage of Brock Lesnar hitting Theory with an F5 from off the top of a pod during Elimination Chamber.

The former US Champion claimed that Brock only cares about himself and that he wanted to show the footage because he didn’t forget. Alpha Academy showed up behind Brock Lesnar and Otis hopped on the ring apron. Otis entered the ring with Brock Lesnar and as Gable attacked from behind. Gable got in a chop block but Lesnar laughed it off.

Brock hit Otis with a Clothesline and delivered a Suplex to Gable. Lesnar grabbed the steel steps and bashed Alpha Academy with them several times. Brock retrieved a steel chair and beat them down some more before planting Chad with a Belly to Belly outside the ring. Lesnar put Otis through the announce table with an F5 to end the segment.

Finn Balor Told Rey Mysterio That He Was A Bad Father

Rey Mysterio battled Finn Balor in the first match of the night. Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio were ringside for the match. Damian cut a promo before the action and claimed that what happened to The Mysterios was justice. Priest noted that Rey will be celebrating 20 years in WWE at Madison Square Garden in a couple of weeks. He suggested that Rey is done and has nothing left to offer Dominik. Priest wanted Dominik to join The Judgement Day to step out of his father’s shadow.

Finn Balor claimed that Edge was a bad leader and that Rey is one as well. Balor shouted that Rey is a bad father and the crowd booed. Dominik declined the join the croup and a brawl broke out as RAW went to a break. The action started off back and forth. Rey sent Balor out of the ring and he got distracted by Dominik. Rey capitalized with a dive through the ropes into a Sunset Flip Powerbomb as RAW went to another break.

Balor wound up defeating Rey with the Coup de Grace. After the match, Balor and Damian Priest told Dominik to think about joining The Judgement Day before exiting the ring.

The RAW Women’s Championship Matched Ended Via A Count-Out

Bianca Belair defended the RAW Women’s Championship against Carmella in a Money in the Bank rematch. Before the title match, Becky Lynch cut a promo and demanded a title match at SummerSlam. Big Time Becks was then ringside for the title match.

Belair dominated the action early and taunted Carmella while doing so. Bianca slammed Carmella down to the mat and went for a Standing Moonsault but the challenger got her knees up. Carmella connected with the X-Factor and went for the cover but Bianca kicked out at two.

Carmella knocked Beliar out of the ring but the RAW Women’s Champion tripped up the challenger on the ring apron. Belair climbed to the top turnbuckle but Carmella rolled out of the ring. Bianca followed her out there and went for a Suplex. Carmella escaped but Belair shoved her into the ring post.

Becky Lynch tried to attack Bianca but Belair was ready. However, the distraction was enough to get Belair counted out. Carmella won the match via count but the title did not switch hands. Becky laughed and retreated up the entrance ramp as Beliar planted Carmella with the KOD.

The Following Match Ended In A Disqualification

Ciampa was a guest on Miz TV tonight on RAW. He aligned with The Miz recently and attacked AJ Styles. Ciampa claimed that nobody commands the people’s attention more than The Miz and Miz told him that he was correct about that. The Miz boasted about carrying Logan Paul to a victory over The Mysterios at WrestleMania.

AJ Styles interrupted and claimed that The Miz just got someone to do his dirty work. Styles got in the ring and grabbed a chair but Miz and Ciampa retreated out of the ring. Ezekiel’s music hit and introduced himself as Elias’ younger brother to AJ Styles. He said that he talked to Adam Pearce and asked for a tag team match. Ezekiel and AJ shook hands as Ciampa & The Miz threw a tantrum outside the ring.

Ezekiel and Ciampa started off the action. Ciampa battled out of a headlock and drove Zeke to the corner. The former NXT Champion unloaded some chops to Ezekiel’s chest in the corner of the ring. Ezekiel responded with some chops of his own before The Miz tagged in.

The Miz got in some offense before tagging Ciampa back in. Miz hit Ezekiel with a cheap shot and Ciampa followed it up with a knee strike. The Miz bounced Ezekiel’s head off the announce table and taunted the crowd as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Styles hit The Miz with a Gutbuster and went for the cover but the A-Lister kicked out at two. AJ knocked Ciampa off the ring apron but turned around into a DDT from The Miz for a near fall. Styles escaped the Skull Crushing Finale and planted Miz with an Ushigoroshi.

Ciampa broke up the cover attempt but Ezekiel sent him out of the ring. AJ then got The Miz in the Calf Crusher in the middle of the ring but Ciampa broke it up. Ciampa apparently punched AJ Styles too much and the match ended via DQ.

Alexa Bliss & Asuka Picked Up A Win

Asuka & Alexa Bliss faced Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop tonight in a Women’s Tag Team match on RAW. Nikki A.S.H. and Asuka began the action. Asuka hit a shoulder tackle and tagged in Alexa Bliss.

Nikki slammed Alexa down to the mat and tagged in Doudrop. Bliss caught Nikki with a knee to the face and Double Knees to the midsection. Alexa was unaware that Doudrop had tagged in and turned around into a shoulder tackle.

Doudrop planted Alexa with a Body Slam and tagged in Nikki A.S.H. Nikki connected with a Neckbreaker for a near fall and then applied a submission hold in the middle of the ring. Alexa escaped and tagged in Asuka.

Nikki leaped off the top turnbuckle but Asuka was ready for her. Asuka unloaded a series of kicks before dropping Doudrop with a Dropkick. Bliss tagged in as Doudrop dragged Asuka out of the ring. Asuka slammed Doudrop down as Nikki battled with Alexa. Bliss connected with a DDT for the pinfall victory.

The Usos & Omos def. The Street Profits & R-Truth

Undisputed Tag Team Champions The Usos came to the ring for a promo tonight. It was announced that they will defend the titles against The Street Profits once again at Money in the Bank. However, there will be a mystery special guest referee for the match. Street Profits interrupted but then R-Truth randomly joined the party.

R-Truth said he is a certified marriage counselor and certified to fly one of them “Top Gun airplanes”. R-Truth pretended to be a referee and showed off his three count. Jimmy Uso told R-Truth to stop and take his “clown ass” backstage. R-Truth challenged both Jimmy and Jey to a fight before Omos’ theme hit. Omos and MVP made their way to the ring and a brawl broke out. Omos leveled R-Truth with a big boot to end the segment.

The Usos and Omos then battled Street Profits & R-Truth in a 6-man tag team match. The action started out back and forth for the first few minutes. Omos knocked R-Truth out of the ring and hit him with a shoulder tackle as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Omos launched R-Truth into the turnbuckle and Jey tagged in.

Montez Ford tagged in and delivered a Standing Moonsault for a near fall. Ford knocked Omos off the ring apron with an Enziguri and then Dawkins shoved him into the ring post. Montez lifted Jimmy up in the Electric Chair and Angelo connected with a flying uppertcut for a near fall. Jey planted Montez with a massive Neckbreaker but turned around into a slam from R-Truth.

R-Truth made the “you can’t see me” motion like John Cena and set up for the Five Knuckle Shuffle but Omos broke it up. Dawkins hit Jimmy with a Corkscrew Splash in the corner of the ring. Omos tagged in and hit Dawkins with the Chokebomb for the pinfall victory.

Dolph Ziggler Returned & Attacked Theory

WWE originally announced that Bobby Lashley would be issuing an Open Challenge for the United States Championship tonight. Instead, he teamed up with Riddle to face Seth Rollins and Theory in the main event.

Rollins and Theory isolated Riddle in the ring to start off the match. Riddle battled back with a flurry of kicks in the corner of the ring. Bobby Lashley tagged in and Theory caught him with a boot to the face. Rollins tagged in and Lashley slammed them both down to the canvas.

Dolph Ziggler returned and made his way to the ring in a suit. Ziggler took a seat ringside as Rollins beat Riddle down in the ring. Seth slammed Riddle down to the mat and applied a Headlock as Ziggler looked on. Lashley tagged in and connected with a Powerslam on Rollins. Theory broke up the cover and Bobby planted him with a Chokeslam.

Seth knocked Lashley to the canvas and made his way to the top rope. Rollins connected with a Frog Splash and went for the cover but Lashley kicked out at two. Riddle tagged in and hit Theory with a Powerslam and followed it up with a DDt. Riddle geared up for the RKO but Seth dragged Theory out of the ring.

Lashley delivered a Spear to Rollins through the barricade. Back in the ring, Riddle went for the RKO but Theory blocked it. Theory rolled Riddle up and put his boots on the ropes but Dolph Ziggler shoved Theory’s feet away. Riddle then planted Theory with an RKO for the pinfall victory. After the match, Ziggler got in the ring and leveled Theory with a Superkick to close the show.

Killer Kross: NXT Talent Were Too Focused On Competing With AEW

0

During a recent discussion with SEScoops correspondent Steve Fall for NBC Sports Boston, Killer Kross talked about his experience being in the NXT locker room during the period where NXT and AEW went head to head.

Kross, NXT & Wednesday Night Wars

Killer Kross, as Karrion Kross, made his NXT debut in April of 2020 with Scarlett Bordeaux by his side. Later that year, at NXT TakeOver: XXX in August, he defeated Keith Lee to win the NXT Championship for the first time. The following day, WWE announced that Kross had suffered a separated shoulder during the match, and on the next episode of NXT, he vacated the title.

Kross would return in December 2020 by attacking Damian Priest. In April, Kross would defeat Finn Balor at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver to win the NXT Championship for the second time. Kross only took one loss in NXT, and that was when he lost the NXT Championship to Samoa Joe at NXT TakeOver 36 before moving up to Raw.

WWE’s NXT and AEW’s Dynamite went head to head in the ‘Wednesday Night Wars’ from October 2, 2019, to April 7, 2021. They were both live on air at the same time, on different stations, competing for Nielsen ratings each week. Most weeks, AEW would win the battle for rankings. On April 13, 2021, NXT moved to Tuesday nights, ending the Wednesday Night Wars. During this time, Kross had 14 matches under the NXT banner.

Competition Between NXT & AEW Wrestlers

Killer Kross spoke with SEScoops correspondent Steve Fall for NBC Sports Boston prior to competing on the Ric Flair’s Last Match pay-per-view. Kross spoke about how the locker room viewed the ‘Wednesday Night Wars’ and his perception of the discourse.

When Kross was asked if there were any feelings of being in competition with AEW between NXT Superstars, he initially responded:

“If there was little pockets of people that really thought that or felt that way, I wasn’t really engaging with them.”

When Steve Fall asked if that feeling of competition truly existed, Kross had more to say.

The former two-time NXT Champion said, “Probably. I don’t think anyone would’ve come to me with that though. The reason being is I’m pretty even keel. My focus is always on producing the best of the time that’s given to me for the show. So, to give an example, I was just most interested in being as entertaining as possible with the time that was given in the show, in the vignettes, and stuff like that. I would get with teams of people and I would just focus on that.

I do know that there are some people who focus way too much on what other people are being paid, and their quartelys, and what the demographics are, and stuff like that. At the end of the day, I hate to say it, it’s true though, as a wrestler, you can only be accountable for so much. So, if you’re going to concern yourself with details that are completely out of your control, you’re not going to enjoy this anymore. I’ve seen it. I’ve seen people drive themselves insane.

Kross: You’re Stressing Yourself Out Like You’re The Chairman of the Company

It’s like, ‘You don’t write your own stuff. You do what you’re told, you only had so many options for music; you only had so many options for your entrance. You don’t control who’s going over in your matches.’ The way people are reacting to the overall arch of this has very little to do with you and you’re stressing yourself out like you’re the chairman of the company. It’s like, if you just focus your energy on the things that you can control versus the things that you can’t, I think your work will come off better. That energy will be more enthusiastic, it’ll be better there.

I just see people dragging themselves over things that– they’re burning their own energy off in the wrong direction that’s not gonna provide a healthy return. That’s just always been something that’s been clear to me even before I got into wrestling. Just being careful what direction you’re putting your energy to. You always wanna make sure if you put your energy into something you get a healthy return. That doesn’t necessarily mean monetarily. Just means, do you feel good doing this? Are you gonna feel good about it afterward? If not, why are you doing it? If you can’t answer that question, don’t do it.”

Ric Flair’s Last Match

Killer Kross will be competing against Harry Smith, the son of the British Bulldog, on the Ric Flair’s Last Match pay-per-view. Ric Flair’s Last Match takes place on Sunday, July 31th at the Nashville Fairgrounds in Nashville, TN. This is just one of the live wrestling shows scheduled for Starrcast V during WWE SummerSlam weekend, but it is set to headline the whole convention.

As of right now, the card is as follows:

  • Impact World Championship Match: Josh Alexander (c) vs Jacob Faty
  • Rachael Ellering vs Deonna Purrazzo vs Jordynne Grace
  • Clark Connors vs Ren Narita
  • Killer Kross (w/ Scarlett Bordeaux) vs Harry Smith
  • The Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) vs Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin)
  • Rey Fenix vs Taurus vs Laredo Kid vs Bandido
  • The Von Erich (Marshall & Ross) vs The Briscoes

Reason Why John Cena Won’t Wrestle at WWE SummerSlam

We now know why John Cena won’t be in the ring for a match at WWE SummerSlam this year.

WWE recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of Cena on the June 27 episode of Raw in Laredo, TX. Many expected Cena and Theory to kickstart a feud on the show, which would lead to a showdown on July 30.

While the seeds were planted for a potential rivalry between Cena and Theory during a backstage segment, it won’t be for a SummerSlam match.

When Cena addressed the WWE Universe, he said he didn’t know when he was going to wrestle again but promised he has more than just one match left in him.

Why John Cena Isn’t Booked For SummerSlam

Theory has now been booked for a rematch with Bobby Lashley, who defeated him at Money in the Bank earlier this month to capture the WWE United States Championship. They’ll collide inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee for SummerSlam.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live noted that John Cena has begun filming for season two of Peacemaker. This would explain why he won’t have the time in his schedule to make it to one of WWE’s biggest premium live events of the year.

Theory is the men’s Money in the Bank briefcase holder. WWE has been heavily teasing that he will attempt to cash in on the winner of Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the Undisputed Universal Championship at SummerSlam.

It’s led some to speculate that Theory could be WWE’s top champion going into WrestleMania in 2023 with John Cena possibly challenging him.

It’ll be interesting to see when Cena’s schedule will allow him to get back inside the ring for a match.

Jersey Shore’s Angelina Pivarnick Accuses Carmella of Stealing her Gimmick

0

Jersey Shore star Angelina Pivarnick has publicly called out Carmella and accused her of gimmick infringement.

Last last week’s episode of WWE Raw saw Carmella interrupt a segment exclaiming ‘umm hello?’, a catchphrase famously used by Angelina in the first and second seasons of the hit MTV reality series.

Angelina took to Twitter to call Carmella out: “Hey @CarmellaWWE you’re using my line !!! Wtf. Sooo you’re from Staten and you’re using ummmm hello too Hmmmmm #weird #comeupwithyourowns**t.”

Carmella replied to Angelina’s tweet with a Mariah Carey ‘I don’t know her’ GIF.

Angelina claimed that Carmella had based her whole gimmick on her in this tweet: “Bitch please. You know exactly who I am and your whole gimmick is based off of me and Staten Island lollllll @WWE @CarmellaWWE Please take several seats girl. Lol. Get your own s**t and cut the crap already. We spoke years ago when u first started with wwe lolllll. Bye.”

Carmella fired back with another GIF of Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino calling Angelina a ‘dirty little hamster’ on the reality show.

Angelina added that she’d be willing to fight Carmella for free: “I will fight her for free. F**k the money. Shows how serious I am. I’m sick of her trying to be me with the umhello catchphrase! Catch these hands for free. Everyone thinks I’m starting s**t which I’m not. She starts all the time with me then pretends she doesn’t know who I am.”

The reality star went off at Kayla Braxton, who had attempted to defend Carmella:

“Well I’m sure the two sides are organizing a civil debate as we speak… Probably…”

Carmella & Natalya lost to Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair & SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan on last week’s Raw.

Kevin Nash Details Events Leading To Scott Hall’s Passing

0

WWE Hall Of Famer Kevin Nash has detailed the events that lead up to his friend and fellow Hall Of Famer Scott Hall’s passing earlier this year.

Hall passed away back in March after being hospitalized for falling and breaking his hip. His hospitalization resulted in several complications that eventually lead to him being put on life support.

The Hall Of Famer reportedly suffered three heart attacks and was eventually taken off life support. He was 63-years-old at the time of his passing.

Taking to the debut episode of his podcast, “Kliq This,” Kevin Nash detailed the events that transpired before Hall’s unfortunate passing. Here’s what he had to say.

“People probably don’t know the breakdown as far as what happened as far as Scott passing and the timeline. Scott was in lockdown. It was in a little duplex. It was in Smyrna, Ga. Scott was getting Grubhub and had some Chinese take out place that would bring him back Vodka.

“He was making some Kool-Aid. He put the plastic pitcher up to the refrigerator. The ice went in it, but a couple of the pieces of ice as always bounced out and landed on the floor. He went over and stirred it. I’m sure it was Crystal Light because he always ate pretty clean. He was going back to get something and one of those pieces of ice caught his heel. He did the fucking whoopsie daisy and fu**ing landed and broke his other hip.

“He’s in the middle of his kitchen and he’s in so much pain and he can’t move. He tried to move several different times. He can’t move and finally, he passes out. He wakes up and now it’s nighttime and he has no idea. He can see where his phone is by his recliner. He’s in between that and the Kool-Aid. He ends up passing back out, wakes up, and at this point is just like, ‘I’m so dehydrated.’

“He’s got a defibrillator and a pacemaker in his heart. He’s like, ‘I’m going to croak if I don’t get some fluids.’ So he just turned and gutted it back to the cabinet and reached up the two hands and just drank it through the spout sip by sip. Slowly, he got enough to him that he was able to drag himself and he called 911.”

“They came and got him and took him to the hospital. So he went to Kennestone hospital which is like a two out of five star hospital. Scott didn’t have insurance. He needed to get the hip fixed. He had some other problems and some other issues.

“They did some CAT scans. When it would be time to get Scott out of the hospital, he was going to stay with Dallas (Page) and recover there. I got a call on Sunday saying Scott had three heart attacks and it didn’t look good. I tried to get a flight to Atlanta but couldn’t, so I went back to Daytona Beach and then couldn’t get a flight out of Daytona Beach.

“At that point, they said they were going to pull the plug and the doctor said that it would be maybe 10 minutes that Scott would be alive. So before they pulled the plug, all the Kliq guys got on speakerphone and we all talked to him. We all cried was basically all we did. Seven hours later, Scott was still alive (but then died).”

Santino Marella Receives Blowblack For Booking Marty Scurll

0

Santino Marella is receiving quite a bit of blowback for booking Marty Scurll for his upcoming show.

Marella, real name Anthony Carelli, announced on Twitter that he’s booking Marty Scurll for his upcoming Battle Arts promotion show in Toronto. The announcement also included a video from Scurll saying that fans will see a side of “The Villain” that they’ve never seen before.

He concluded by saying that “sh*t gets real” on August 13. Check out the announcement here below.

https://twitter.com/milanmiracle/status/1546514510286127108

Carelli is receiving quite a bit of blowback for booking Scurll for the show given the accusations made against him back in 2020. He’s accused of having slept with a 16-year-old girl in the UK.

As a result, Scurll has found it difficult to get booked for wrestling shows, slowly making his return to action over the years. He responded to the accusations with the following statement.

“I am aware that a young woman has bravely come forward with her account of sexual abuse by some members of the wrestling community in the UK 5 years ago, a community I was a part of.

“Although I truly believe that our encounter that evening was consensual, and the fact that the encounter was legal; is almost not the point. I understand that she now views our encounter as part of a bigger problem within the wrestling community.

“What concerns me at this moment is that from what I have been reading, she is a fan of wrestling and was made to feel unsafe within that community. This is not acceptable. I also understand that people have been attacking her on social media, and I implore you to please stop. She has a right to her voice and it is our responsibility to listen.”

Tentative Plans for WWE Raw Tonight

Early plans for the July 11 episode of WWE Raw have been revealed.

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw will take place inside the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX. Already advertised for the show is the return of Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar hasn’t been seen since he appeared on the June 17 episode of SmackDown. He took out Roman Reigns and the rest of The Bloodline.

This has set the stage for a Last Man Standing match between Brock and Reigns. Roman’s WWE Undisputed Universal Championship will be on the line and WWE is billing this as Brock’s last chance at taking the gold from Reigns.

Early WWE Raw Plans

Fightful is reporting that the WWE crew had gathered materials to potentially implement the Elias character into tonight’s show. The character last appeared on the June 20 episode of Raw, smashing a guitar over the back of Kevin Owens.

In an update, plans for Elias were delisted.

It’s also been reported that an angle involving someone stealing Alexa Bliss’ Lilly doll has also been floated. At this time, it’s unclear if the pitch has been approved.

Early plans have also pegged R-Truth to serve as a referee in one match tonight. It’s also been said that Reggie, Street Profits, and Omos will all be a part of the show as of now.

Already advertised for tonight’s episode of Raw is Bobby Lashley issuing an open challenge for his WWE United States Championship. Plus, Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory will go one-on-one with Riddle.

Check back on the SEScoops homepage for live coverage of WWE Raw tonight.

AEW Star Speaks on Paying Homage to John Cena on WWE Raw

0

One AEW star is quite happy that he got to pay homage to John Cena during the June 27 episode of WWE Raw.

WWE celebrated the 20th anniversary of Cena’s promotional debut in Laredo, TX. During the show, there were special video messages from WWE superstars past and present. There were even some key AEW names such as Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, and Paul Wight.

When Cena made his way to the ring to address the fans, he said he doesn’t know when he’ll wrestle again but he made it clear he’s got a lot more than one more match left in him.

Paul Wight on Paying Tribute to John Cena

During an interview with SportsKeeda, AEW star Paul Wight said he’s grateful for the opportunity to have shared some kind words for John Cena.

“Like I said, it’s still a business. I worked with John Cena, you know, probably for 20+ years. You know, I was instrumental in the beginning of his career, and throughout my career, I had a lot of incredible battles with John Cena all over the world.

“I used to make a joke that every five months, it was time for Big Show and John Cena to fight again. I mean, we were great at the David and Goliath spectacle, and he was such a superhero. I was able to be a great monster for him to battle with and people enjoyed it.

“So that was a cool situation.

“I’m glad that WWE gave me the opportunity to say thank you to John,” Paul continued. “It’s really cool of Tony Khan, to allow his contracted talent to appear on another show to say thanks.”

Paul Wight on paying homage to John Cena

“This shows a lot of class, I think on both companies. You know, it’s great to be competitive. At the same time, the talent involved are also human beings. I have a lot of friends still in WWE. So it’s nice to be able to, in an appropriate way, pay homage to a friend that’s had an amazing career.

“Don’t get me wrong, we still want to kick their ass and ratings, but, I wouldn’t expect anything less from them.”

Wight had his share of encounters with Cena when he was known as the “Big Show” during his time with WWE. One of those matches took place at WrestleMania 25 back in 2009.

It was Cena vs. Big Show vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. Cena won the match.

Heartbreaking Photo of WCW Alum Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael Surfaces Online

0

For fans of WCW, Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael was one of the stars to watch during the mid to late 1990s.

Unfortunately, these days, Mongo is doing very poorly and is battling a case of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS.)

Now, a sad photo has surfaced online featuring the former wrestler.

McMichael Resurfaces

On Twitter, a photo surfaced of McMichael which was heartbreaking to see.

As seen in the image below, Mongo appears to be confined to his bed, which follows on from reports by his sister last year, that her brother can no longer use his arms or his legs.

Despite his condition, McMichael seemed to be in good spirits as seen in the image below.

Ric Flair recently revealed on his podcast that accommodations will be made for McMichael to travel to Nashville so he can be in attendance for Flair’s last match later this month.

McMichael: From the Gridiron to the Ring

Long before McMichael was in WCW, he was making a name for himself in football, playing for the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, and Green Bay Packers.

It was with the Bears in 1986 that Mongo became a Superbowl champion, as they defeated his former team the Patriots.

After an appearance at WWF WrestleMania 11 to aid fellow football star Lawrence Taylor, McMichael was signed to a lucrative deal with WCW.

Mongo’s time with the company would see him feud with fellow football alum Bill Goldberg, join the Four Horsemen, and capture the WCW United States Heavyweight title in August 1997 at Clash of the Champions XXXV.

New Report Says WB Discovery Asked AEW For “Shark Week” Tie-In

0

A new report has surfaced explaining a strange stipulation that is happening on next week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.

The Mad King Eddie Kingston will be clashing with his current Rival Chris Jericho in a barb-wired deathmatch, one that should be a fitting end to their months long feud. However, Jericho’s faction, the Jericho Appreciation Society, will all be hovering above the ring inside of a shark cage as the guaranteed bloodbath occurs.

According to Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer, this is happening on a request from Warner Bros Discovery. The publication notes that the network asked AEW to add some sort of tie-in promoting their annual programming event, Shark Week. The deep dive (no pun intended) of one the sea’s most unique creatures began back in 1988.

Kingston holds a victory over Jericho from their clash at Revolution earlier this year, but the rivalry only intensified after The Wizard through a fireball in Kingston’s face. This has led to the critically acclaimed Anarchy in the Arena brawl from Double or Nothing, and the more recent Blood & Guts showdown in Detroit.

Stay tuned.

WWE Superstar is Ready to Leave and Work Elsewhere “ASAP”

0

For many wrestlers, the ultimate goal of their careers is to one day work for WWE.

While there are other wrestling promotions around, none are as big as the McMahon-founded promotion, which continues to air across the globe.

Only a select handful of wrestlers will ever be called WWE Superstars, but one wrestler is wanting out now.

Naomi Wants Out

It’s been close to two months since Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of the May 16, Raw, over a creative difference with the planned main event.

Reports have come out that Banks has parted ways with WWE, though haven’t been confirmed by either side, but now Naomi wants out.

Responding to former WWE Superstar Lince Dorado, who asked the former SmackDown Women’s Champion when they’ll work together on “some lucha things” Naomi said she hopes to do so “Asap.”

WWE and Naomi

Naomi debuted on WWE TV in 2010, boasting two reigns as SmackDown Women’s Champion and one as WWE Women’s Tag Champion.

After coming up short in season 3 of the original NXT reality show format, Naomi debuted as part of the Funkadactyls before branching out as a singles competitor.

She is also married to Jimmy Uso and had previously discussed in the past wanting to join her husband and their family on-screen as part of the Bloodline.

That idea seems highly unlikely now given her suspension and her desire to get out of the company and work with others as soon as possible.

Former WWE Superstar Nia Jax Sports New Look

Former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Lina Fanene (Nia Jax) is rocking a new look.

Fanene was released from her WWE contract back in Nov. 2021. During her time with the company, she became a Raw Women’s Champion and a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.

In the months that she’s been away from the wrestling business, Fanene has been quite active on social media.

She recently revealed a switch-up in terms of her appearance.

Nia Jax’s New Look

Nia Jax took to her Instagram account to show off her new hairstyle.

Fanene was expected to be a part of the first World Entertainment Series event.

Eventually, she shot down being on the show and urged fans not to give the company any money as they were still advertising her appearance.

“I do not know why I am still on this poster, but I will REPEAT myself again…I will NOT be at the show. Please do not buy a ticket thinking you will see me perform or get a chance to meet me. I hate that this misleads people!”

Nia Jax on WES advertising

WES ended up canceling its first show and while the company claims it’ll be sticking around, the general feeling is that this one is over before it even got started.

Chris Jericho Details ‘Terrible’ Experience Working With Attitude Era Star

0

Chris Jericho’s first real angle in WWE was with Chyna. WWE was pushing her as someone who can compete with male talents and put the IC belt on her. Jericho feuded with her over the championship and put her over. Though according to Y2J, his own experience of working with the Attitude Era star was terrible.

The AEW star recently appeared on True Geordie podcast. He talked about things such as fans calling out stars for botches and more. When asked about his feud with the late star, Jericho claimed that she was terrible in the ring:

“Terrible. She was terrible to work with. She wasn’t good, but she thought she was. She also was in a position where they were pushing her really big that she could beat up guys. She couldn’t. I never got that credit [for carrying her]. No one ever once said, ‘You’re making her look good. It was the other side of the coin.”

‘I Got In So Much Trouble’: Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho then told the story of how he got into trouble for injuring Chyna during one of their encounters. According to him, it was a tough position for him to be in since it was his first real angle in WWE:

“I got in big trouble from working with her. Because at one point I remember when I first started working with her, Vince was like, ‘Don’t treat her like a woman, treat her like a wrestler.’ She was really stiff too which means she worked very strong. Listen, I am not talking bad of her, I’m just telling the truth. So when we worked together, it was a solid fight in a lot of ways.

I remember one time she got a little bit of a black eye from me, and you would have thought I cut her arm off with a chainsaw. I got in so much trouble. I was like, ‘Fuck I didn’t do it on purpose.’ So it was a tough position for me to be in. It was my first real angle in the WWE. My first story. But once again, I did the best that I could. I think her best matches that she ever had were with me. [It] hopefully proved something to the people that I had to prove things to, but there was a lot of issues with working with her.”

The Dusty Rhodes Foundation Launches To Help Young Athletes

0

A new foundation has been launched in honor of the legend, The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes.

The family of Dusty Rhodes has announced a new foundation named after the WWE Hall of Famer. The mission of the foundation is to honor and pay homage to Dusty Rhodes, who passed away in 2015, and his dedication to sports and young athletes.

Dusty Rhodes Foundation Mission

The foundation, via The Rhodes family, shared its mission statement on Instagram:

Our foundation was started in loving memory of one of the greatest and most influential professional wrestlers of all time: “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. Long before he entered the squared circle, Dusty’s dreams began on the playing fields of his youth. He was a gifted athlete in many sports and his baseball & football abilities earned him a full athletic scholarship which made him the first in his family to attend college.

Throughout Dusty’s storied career, he reached through the television and entertained millions, but a lesser-known passion was his role with youth athletics. Dusty gave this time, talent, and treasure to helping children play sports. He was a coach and mentor to many young athletes, some of whom went on to attend college on athletic scholarships themselves.

Dusty was an inspiration to all those who knew him. For his dreams to live on, we must inspire and support the next generation of athletes. Many children today do not have the opportunity to play sports because of the yearly rising costs associated with organized leagues & travel ball. Additionally, many underserved communities simply don’t have the ability to offer sports programs for children.

By supporting the Dusty Rhodes Foundation, you can help carry out Dusty’s legacy and dreams by helping children play sports who couldn’t otherwise. Together we can inspire and support youth athletics in disadvantaged and underserved communities and make a big difference in the lives of these amazing children.

Michelle & The Rhodes Family

Starrcast V Involvement

The Dusty Rhodes Foundation will be involved in the Starrcast V festivities on SummerSlam weekend. Ricky Starks, Preston ‘10’ Vance, Aaron Solo, QT Marshall, and Buttercup will be doing meet and greets in support of the Foundation. Starrcast V will be headlined by the final match of arguably, Dusty Rhodes’ greatest rival, Ric Flair.

Chris Jericho Slams Disrespectful Fans Who Call Out Botches

0

Wrestling fans are some of the most passionate fans in the sports world. However, this passion also leads to some tense situations when people forget the line between the character and the person. What Chris Jericho hates the most is when fans attack superstars online over a misstep in a match.

The former AEW world champion recently had an interview with True Geordie podcast. Speaking about the fans, Jericho discussed how he hates the word ‘botch’:

“Things happen in a match. The fucking word I hate the most that fans use is botch. ‘Oh, you botched that one.’ Shut your fucking mouth. There is no such thing as a botch. This is a live show. Mistakes happen. Why? Because we are human beings and we’re live.”

‘It’s Fucking Disrespectful’: Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho list
WWE.com

Chris Jericho explained that mistakes happen in other forms of live art as well. Though the fans do not go after the performers in such cases:

“If it happens in a hockey game, the fans don’t start chanting in unison ‘You fucked up, you fucked up’. If you go to a Broadway play and someone fumbles their lines, people don’t start chanting ‘You fucked up, you fucked up.’ You go to a wrestling match and miss a hip toss. People start chanting. That’s bullshit. It’s fucking disrespectful. And wrestling fans walk the line of being disrespectful. WWE Hall of Fame and people are fucking booing the Bushwhackers for being in the Hall of Fame? Fuck you.

“So that to me is like yeah, I love wrestling fans.” said Jericho, “If there were no fans there will be no career of Chris Jericho, but you guys gotta keep it in check sometimes and show some respect.”

Bianca Belair Reveals Her Survivor Series 2021 Gear Has Been Stolen

0

A part of what makes Bianca Belair such a once-in-a-lifetime star is the fact that she makes her own amazing gear for special events. Unfortunately, one of them has been stolen.

Survivor Series 2021

The Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair has quickly become one of the top stars in the company over the past two years due to her Royal Rumble victory, WrestleMania matches, and title reigns.

Last year at Survivor Series, Bianca was the sole survivor for Team Raw. She led her brand to victory over Team SmackDown’s Sasha Banks, Shotzi, Shayna Baszler, Natalya, and Toni Storm.

The Custom Gear

Bianca wore and created custom gear for the show with the Raw logo on it. While many wrestlers auction off old ring gear, that’s not the case for this one, even if you see it on sale.

Raw Women’s Champion Speaks Out

Bianca took to her Instagrams story to reveal that her special, custom Team Raw gear had been stolen.

She wrote:

If y’all ever see my RAW Survivor Series gear being sold online… Just know it’s stolen…

Belair recently had another bad fan interaction when she told a story last month about a fan following her and The Street Profits out of an arena.

Another Update On Bryan Danielson’s Scary Injury

0

AEW wrestler Bryan Danielson has been out of action for over a month after sustaining a concussion. There is now another update on his status and recovery.

Danielson’s Injury History

Last week, Dave Meltzer described Danielson’s concussion as “very concerning” considering his history of head injuries.

As many remember, the former four-time WWE Champion was forced into early retirement in 2016 as a result of his injuries. However, was cleared to wrestle again in 2018.

The Update

Dave Meltzer provided an update on his original report. Luckily, this time he has more positive things to say about Danielson’s condition.

Dave appeared on the Saturday Night’s Main Event podcast, and said:

“What I can tell you is Bryan is fine but he’s not cleared to wrestle yet and Tony Khan is not going to rush him back.”

Fans are reasonably concerned about Danielson and his status due to his history of head injuries. So, it is a relief to hear that he’s fine.

However, we still don’t have any indication that he’ll be returning soon, but once we do, SEScoops will keep you in the know.

WWE Superstar Teases Joining New Faction

One WWE talent is dropping a hint that perhaps he is the perfect candidate to join a fresh faction.

Whenever a new faction debuts, it can be quite polarizing. That seems to be the case with Maximum Male Models led by Max Dupri.

Some people think the stable is hysterical, while others don’t see the comedy and feel it’ll fall on its face within a matter of months.

At least for the time being, the group is sticking around on WWE SmackDown revealing new fashion collections on a weekly basis.

One NXT star has seemingly thrown his name in the hat to join the faction.

Duke Hudson in Maximum Male Models?

NXT star Duke Hudson has taken to social media and made a rather convincing argument that perhaps he should be the next member of Maximum Male Models.

As of now, MMM consists of Max Dupri, ma.çé, and mån.sôör.

Who knows what the play on words would be for Duke Hudson if he joins the stable or if WWE would give him a new name altogether.

There is an official website for Maximum Male Models where “applications” are being taken.

With that said, the website notes that this is purely for fun and WWE will not be taking any applications into consideration when it comes to hiring talent.

Does Duke Hudson titillate the juices of your guilty pleasures?

Update on Kevin Owens’ Absence From WWE

0

There is a new update regarding Kevin Owen’s WWE absence over the last two weeks.

Owens strikingly missed the go-home episode of RAW for Money in the Bank. He was supposed to participate in a qualifying match for the Money in the Bank ladder match between him and Ezekiel.

Owens wasn’t on last week’s Raw, and now it seems like we may have to wait a bit longer for his return.

This week, a video of Owens saying it’s “in their hands right now” circulated. The video led fans to believe that he’s personally ready to return, it’s just a case of WWE making it happen.

Owens Update

Dave Meltzer, on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, reported that Kevin is “fine,” but he’ll likely be back in a few more weeks.

It was previously reported that the former WWE Universal Champion had been out of action due to a minor injury.

NHL Draft Appearance

Kevin Owens recently made an appearance at the NHL Draft to surprise a high-profile fan, Bruce Boudreau, the head coach of the Vancouver Canucks.

Who Came up with The Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak?

0

The Undertaker’s mythical WrestleMania streak began with a quick win over the late ‘Superfly’ Jimmy Snuka at WrestleMania 7

The 260-second win over the controversial WWE Hall of Famer was, at the time, just another win for the undefeated rookie. Over the next twenty years, the Undertaker would rack up win after win at WWE’s biggest event of the year.

The phenomenon would grow to be known simply as, ‘The Streak.’

The Streak

The Undertaker had always won at WrestleMania, but it wasn’t until much later in his career that the concept of a winning streak gained traction.

In a recent interview with Peter Rosenberg on A&E Biography: WWE Legends, “The Phenom” revealed that the idea of the streak only came around after Michael Hayes checked the records.

“It was WrestleMania [18] against Flair actually in Toronto that I think it was Michael Hayes that figured it out that I had not, I hadn’t lost. And that’s the first time that I acknowledged it is at the end of that route. I’m on the apron and I throw up all the fingers. And from that point on, it really kind of got the gas thrown on it and every year it just continued to get bigger and bigger and bigger.”

The Undertaker on the origins of ‘The Streak.’

Breaking the Streak

The Undertaker’s winning streak would reach 21-0, with “The Phenom” dispatching of legends including Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kane, and Edge.

In 2014, Brock Lesnar seemed the next to fall victim, but in a true shock to fans, Lesnar broke the Streak.

The match is not fondly remembered, as during the bout, The Undertaker suffered a concussion and was barely able to compete.

Now retired, The Undertaker’s record at WrestleMania remains an impressive 25-2.
