Fraxiom, Cora Jade Appear On TNA iMPACT Ahead Of Title Matches

0

The March 6, edition of TNA iMPACT saw plenty of crossover with WWE NXT ahead of some huge matches for both promotions. In a video vignette, WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom hyped up their upcoming match with The Hardyz. Fraxiom will challenge the TNA World Tag Team Champions at NXT Roadblock, and said they plan on leaving Madison Square Garden with an extra set of gold.

Fraxiom aren’t the only names from WWE NXT hoping to hold TNA gold next week. At TNA Sacrifice, Cora Jade will challenge Masha Slamovich for the TNA Knockouts Title. On iMPACT, Jade and Tessa Blanchard launched an attack on Slamovich which was interrupted by Lei Ying Lee.

With NXT Champion Oba Femi also appearing on iMPACT, the show was another sign of the strong relationship between WWE and TNA Wrestling. The upcoming week could prove pivotal in this relationship, with talent from both sides hoping to take gold from the other.

Moose Lays Out Oba Femi Ahead Of WWE NXT Title Showdown

0

Oba Femi and Moose came face-to-face during the March 6, 2025, edition of TNA iMPACT, just days before their highly anticipated showdown at WWE NXT Roadblock. In the ring, Femi acknowledged that Moose had defeated some of the biggest names in the business but said that he isn’t one of them. Femi vowed that he will leave WWE NXT Roadblock, still the WWE NXT Champion.

Moose fired back with a bold statement, declaring that in just a few days at MSG, he would dethrone “The Ruler” and become the face of NXT. Security attempted to keep the pair from coming to blows but Femi dispatched of them one-by-one.

The Sytem arrived to attack Femi and Moose took full advantage of the numbers game. Before the show went off the air, he left Oba laid out in the ring and stood tall, holding both the WWE NXT Championship and the TNA X-Division Championship over his head.

The Femi-Moose showdown is just one example of WWE’s blossoming relationship with TNA Wrestling. At Roadblock, the TNA World Tag Team Championships will be on the line as The Hardyz put the gold on the line against NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom. Days later at TNA Sacrifice, Cora Jade will challenge for the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Masha Slamovich.

It remains to be seen if Moose can end “The Ruler” or if Femi will stand tall at NXT Roadblock. Whatever comes, this will be a hard-hitting match between two of the very top stars of their respective brands.

Cody Rhodes Downplays Claims Of Elimination Chamber: Toronto Injury

0

Travis Scott may have rocked Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber, but if you ask the WWE Champion, he’s just fine, or at least, that’s what he’s telling people. After the PLE reports surfaced that Rhodes suffered a burst eardrum and a black eye from Scott’s attack which saw the music artist strike Cody hard in the side of the head.

Conrad Thompson addressed the situation on Eric Bischoff’s 83 Weeks podcast, and shared that he’d reached out to Cody about the injury, who downplayed the whole thing.

I checked on CodyHe replied, ‘Didn’t touch me. I got a wild bruise somehow, though,’ and sent me a picture. And I said, ‘Well damn, I’m glad you’re okay, mostly.’ And he jokingly said, ‘The Horsemen got me.’”

Despite Cody’s claim that he’s fine, Thompsons wasn’t convinced, especially given the fact that footage of Scott making contact with Rhodes has gone viral online.

“We know that [Cody claiming Scott didn’t touch him] is not the case—he’s sporting a major black eye right now. And I don’t know if it’s true or not that he burst his eardrum, but buddy, it is a brutal blow that we saw.”

With The Rock claiming Scott intends to wrestle in WWE, Rhodes may be able to get payback on the music artist soon enough. If Scott competes, he’ll be the latest to step into the squared circle and follow the likes of Logan Paul and Bad Bunny.

As for Rhodes, he will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against John Cena at WrestleMania 41. With Cena turning heel and aligning with The Rock, Rhodes’ reign as champion has likely never been in graver danger.

AEW Revolution 2025 Media Call Recap

0

Below is a detailed recap of Tony Khan’s media call held today, March 6, 2025, to promote Sunday’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view event scheduled for Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Tony Khan opened the call with a brief introduction, expressing excitement for the AEW Revolution event. He highlighted that this is the sixth annual Revolution PPV and emphasized its significance as a major showcase for All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Khan then opened the floor to questions from the media.

Talent Releases and Philosophy

One of the prominent topics was the recent releases of wrestlers like Miro, Malakai Black, Rey Fenix, and Ricky Starks. When asked by Dave Meltzer (F4W/WON) if this marked a shift in philosophy, Khan explained that decisions are made on a “case-by-case basis.”

He noted that these releases “felt like the right thing for the company and everyone involved” at this time, though he avoided specifics about individual cases. This suggests a pragmatic approach rather than a blanket policy change, focusing on what benefits AEW’s current direction.

Creative Process and Collaboration

Khan addressed his approach to creative decisions, reflecting on lessons learned since AEW’s inception. Responding to a question about improvements in the TV product, he said that in 2020, he committed to producing great television weekly. He admitted there were times he was “too collaborative,” allowing ideas he wasn’t fully sold on to proceed.

Now, he’s more willing to say “no” to bad ideas, striking a balance between collaboration and creative control. Khan cited 2024 as AEW’s best year for pay-per-views, pointing to the Continental Classic as a standout achievement, which he believes rivals or surpasses its original iteration.

On production meetings, Khan debunked rumors that he doesn’t hold them. He clarified that he meets with multiple working groups—production staff, producers, coaches, and announcers—several times on show days. He called some online claims “completely untrue” and found the discourse “amusing,” urging people to “consider the source” of such rumors. Khan emphasized his focus on improving communication while dismissing distractions.

AEW Revolution Event Specifics

Khan discussed several aspects of the upcoming Revolution PPV:

  • Women’s Match Potential: When asked if a women’s match could headline a 2025 PPV, Khan said it’s “possible.” He referenced Mariah May vs. Toni Storm headlining Grand Slam Australia and teased their “Hollywood Ending” match on Sunday as a highlight.
  • Face of the Revolution Ladder Match: Addressing its absence from the PPV, Khan explained it’s about “timing” and not overusing ladder matches. He prefers placing wrestlers and matches in optimal spots, citing the current TNT Title feud between Daniel Garcia and Adam Cole as a priority. He praised Shane Taylor Promotions for adding heat to that storyline and hyped Lee Moriarty vs. Garcia on Collision, with Cole watching closely.
  • Creative Swings: Asked if John Cena’s recent heel turn in WWE pressures AEW to take big risks, Khan said he’s content with AEW’s consistent quality. He doesn’t plan to overhaul their approach based on competitors’ moves, focusing instead on maintaining their creative identity.

Ring of Honor (ROH) Updates

Khan provided insights into ROH’s status:

  • TV Deal Progress: He reported “great discussions” with domestic and international partners but stressed he’s not rushing, aiming for the “best deal possible.” No timeline was given, though ROH recently began simulcasting on Max and secured an Amazon deal. Khan sees “so much potential” in ROH and loves events like Final Battle.
  • AEW Synergy: He noted that Max will eventually host AEW PPVs, with plans to enable purchases on the platform, enhancing accessibility alongside ROH content.

Business and Growth

  • Ticket Sales Defense: Addressing skepticism about 2023’s All In at Wembley Stadium, Khan asserted it set a world record for paid tickets, backed by Live Nation paperwork and a plaque. This came up in the context of a new Amazon PPV distribution deal for the UK.
  • AEW’s Stability: Khan expressed confidence in AEW’s trajectory, citing strong show quality and a willingness to take “big creative swings” without reactionary changes. He’s excited for Revolution as a culmination of recent efforts.

Closing Thoughts

Khan wrapped up by reiterating his enthusiasm for Sunday’s event, calling Revolution a pivotal moment for AEW in 2025. He thanked the media and fans, emphasizing the collaborative spirit and strategic planning that he believes will drive the company forward.

WWE Reportedly Looking To Host Second Women’s ‘Evolution’ Show This Year

0

WWE is reportedly considering reviving the Evolution premium live event (PLE). This follows a previously rumored 2020 event that never materialized, signaling a renewed interest in the all-women’s show.

WWE Evolution was a groundbreaking all-women’s pay-per-view (PPV) that took place on October 28, 2018, at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. It was the first and only all-female PPV in WWE history, featuring top stars from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, alongside legendary wrestlers from past generations.

The event featured several historic matches, including a main event between Nikki Bella and Ronda Rousey. Becky Lynch also defeated Charlotte Flair in a Last Woman Standing match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, a bout widely regarded as one of the best women’s matches in WWE history.

Despite Evolution’s success, WWE has yet to host a sequel. However, fan demand and continued support from wrestlers have kept hopes for a second event alive.

According to BodySlam.net, WWE is targeting July 5 for an Evolution PLE at Mohegan Sun Casino & Resort. However, sources indicate that the event remains tentative and in the early planning stages.

Marc Mero Talks New Book, Ex-Wife Rena, Dusty Rhodes Memories, Triple H, WWE Experience & More

If you’re a long-time pro wrestling fan, the name Marc Mero may elicit memories of the colorful Johnny B. Badd shooting off confetti from his Badd Blaster. Or perhaps you think of the “Wild Man” accompanied by the stunning bombshell Sable or Golden Glove boxer alongside the dangerous Jaqueline. Regardless, you’ll feel the nostalgia pouring out as the former WCW and WWE superstar is opening up about his time inside and outside the ring with his new autobiography “Badd To Good: The Inspiring Story of a Wrestling Wildman.”

With forewords from Diamond Dallas Page and Lex Luger, contributions from Mick Foley, Eric Bischoff, Vince Russo, Justin Roberts and more, the inspiring read sees the veteran performer get candid with co-author Ben Veal about overcoming obstacles and dark periods to find his true purpose. One that has seen him spend the last 18 years going to schools around the world, motivating young people and spreading positivity. It’s what inspired him to do a book now.

“Just seeing the difference I’m making in people’s lives,” Mero said. “I talk about my hard times and bad choices during my presentations at schools. I thought, ‘Why don’t I put this into a book?’ A place to share some in-depth stories. Obviously, I share where my good choices took me. I’m very blatantly honest where those bad choices took me. I take people on this rollercoaster ride. I think it came out well. I was happy with the final version of the book.”

The 64-year-old recalls laughter and tears shared during the writing process. One of the overarching themes of the book is that happiness is a choice.

“I could think of all the miserable things that happened to me or things I can’t change like the weather or stock market and be bummed out or I can think about positive things,” he said. “I’m alive today. I can take a shower, eat food and do whatever I want. That’s a blessing in life. I live with this attitude of gratitude. It has really helped me change my mindset to want to be positive, but also surround myself with positive people…”

Among the hot topics Mero delves into was signing with WWE under a guaranteed contract. This was virtually unheard of, but the “Monday Night War” between the company and WCW was hot and heavy.

“At that time, I had no idea how I was viewed in the locker room because Steve Austin just signed before me. Mick Foley, too,” Mero recalled. “They just got the opportunity. Here I just got this big guaranteed contract, signing bonus where I can take my now ex-wife [Rena] on the road with me. Get her a contract. I look back now, and I can see how people can get upset at me.

He continued, “Now, when you think about it, this really broke the glass ceiling. In other words, now everyone gets a guaranteed contract. I look back, and I was the first one. I had a great negotiation with Vince McMahon, and it came down to I didn’t need the WWE. I had another guaranteed contract at WCW where I can stay there as Johnny B. Badd, so I had great leverage to go after that guaranteed contract. Vince just said yes, gave me the signing bonus and gave me the contract for my ex-wife, got to travel all over the world with me. We had everything we could ever want at the time, but looking back and seeing how much of an outcast we were was really tough.”

Despite everything that happened, the has no regrets about leaving WCW. When asked what might have happened if he stayed, Mero responded, “You never know, maybe Johnny B. Badd would have been in the nWo. Who knows?” Among the times he’ll cherish in the once Turner-owned organization was working with the “American Dream,” who was really the first to truly believe in him.

“Dusty Rhodes loved that character because it was a take off of him in a sense,” Mero said. “Before the matches, Dusty would work with me. He said, ‘I want you to walk to the ring like this and talk like this. Like a bad man!’ Me and him would laugh so hard because he would do it so outrageous. I couldn’t get it like he wanted some of the time, so we’d be laughing…He hugged me and we’d be laughing. We got so close because of that. Those are memories I’d always carry with me.”

Mero looks back at his early meetings with Vince McMahon and those early drawings of the “Wildman” persona. Drawings he still has to this day.

“Vince was like, ‘Can you do a Tarzan yell?’ I said, ‘I don’t have a very strong voice.’ Ric Flair has his Woo and Sting has his thing. Everyone has something for the fans to get behind, but I couldn’t do a Tarzan yell. I asked, ‘What is ‘Wildman,’ like am I from the jungle? What am I?’ Because I never resonated with the character, the audience didn’t either. Then you bring out this beautiful woman swirling a whip and people are going crazy over her and the character got lost in the shuffle. I have no regrets…”

For Mero, it’s fun to see the evolution of the business including seeing Paul “Triple H” Levesque ascend to the top of the WWE corporate ladder. He looks back on sharing the ring with him fondly.

“Triple H his first title he won was off me the Intercontinental title,” Mero said. “He went on to have a stellar career. There are three guys I’d wrestled a lot like hundreds of times. ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, and remember we were at both WWE and WCW together, Triple H same thing and Diamond Dallas Page. We opened more pay-per-views and plus wrestled on the road all over the country. Those three guys I wrestled the most. I had the opportunity to wrestle Triple H many times, and he was an amazing worker. He is kind of the ring general where he’d cal the match as the heel and always had good matches with him. I couldn’t be happier to see where wrestling is going now. It’s really interesting. They have so many ways for people can go now….”

Marc Mero Sable

One of the more interesting parts of the book for people will surely be Mero reflecting on his decade together with ex-wife Rena Mero, who became a household name as Sable. Their relationship went through ups and downs before imploding in the end. Rena entered into a relationship with her now husband Brock Lesnar while the two were still together, during her second run with WWE.

“The greatest thing in life is forgiveness. Sometimes the hardest one to forgive is ourselves. Knowing I’ve forgiven everyone and everything and myself, it wasn’t hard talking about it,” Mero said. “You obviously relive moments in your life that were sad. I wanted to just tell the truth and tell the record straight. Yes, it was difficult being in the WWF when she was going through things also. That’s my wife they were doing these things to. It was very hard. A lot of people don’t know this, and I think it’s in the book, but I had three years left on my guaranteed contract. In other words, I could have stayed there another three years and not done anything and got paid. But I chose to walk away with her when she wanted to sue the WWF. I made that decision to walk away with her.”

Mero revealed in the book the last time he spoke with Rena was while their daughter was going through a difficult pregnancy. Despite the silence, there is no ill will.

“I’m very close to my daughter. In fact, her birthday is coming up. I just talked to her yesterday. She comes here in the summer with my granddaughter. We spend some time together, and it’s just amazing. We have a great relationship. And she has a relationship with her mother too,” Mero said. “I wish them all the happiness in the world. I believe they think the same thing for me. They wish me happiness. No, there is no need to talk. If we ever did, like I say in the book, there are just two words I’d like to say to her: Thank you.”

These days the motivational speaker finds no greater joy than helping another person. Capacity crowds still provide the adrenaline rush, but from a different stage.

“I remember when I left wrestling and had my last pay-per-view match in England,” Mero said. “I remember flying home thinking, ‘I don’t have to travel any more when I was doing 250 cities a year.’ Then I started this, and my average up until the pandemic was 230 events a year. It has been a crazy whirlwind, but I love it. The good thing is I still get to entertain people, and nobody is hitting me over the head with a chair anymore.”

The duo won the WWF Tag Team Championship in 1992, defeating Money Inc. (Ted DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster). Their run in WWE lasted until 1993 when they eventually disbanded, with both wrestlers moving on to other promotions.

We’ll post an update when we get the official word from WWE.

Darth Vince: Ex-WWE Boss Was Like Star Wars Villain, Claims Hall of Famer

0

Vince McMahon was able to strike fear in WWE employees like the dreaded Star Wars villain Darth Vader, according to D-Von Dudley. Speaking to The Daily Star, D-Von gave his unique explanation of his former boss.

“Vince McMahon had a Darth Vader type of aura about him where people feared him, as opposed to a charismatic personality. It was as soon as he walked into that room, it was like Darth Vader.”

McMahon may not have been able to use the force or swing a lightsaber, but “petrified” D-Von the first time they came face-to-face. Though he described McMahon as a “very shrewd businessman,” D-Von added that McMahon would go all-in on ideas, even bad ones.

“Even if he had an inkling that he was wrong, he still wanted what he wanted when he wanted it. And that was just the way Vince was and still is, I bet.”

McMahon stepped down from WWE for the second time in early 2024 over the claims made in Janel Grant’s lawsuit. McMahon has denied all accusations of misconduct and has said their relationship was entirely consensual. McMahon reportedly has plans for a new entertainment company, leaving fans to speculate whether a return to promoting wrestling could come.

D-Von is hardly the first WWE name to speak of McMahon’s imposing presence behind the scenes. As questions remain as to what future, if any, McMahon will have in wrestling, his complicated legacy continues to be the subject of discussion and debate among fans and those who knew McMahon up close.

Greg Miller Confirms WWE Exit: ‘I Knew This Day Was Coming’

0

Greg Miller has confirmed reports that he has parted ways with WWE after his profile was recently removed from the promotion’s website. In a video, Miller admitted that his exit wasn’t a massive surprise.

“I knew this day was coming. I was actually just hoping to skate by a little bit longer on WWE.com Superstars so that I could keep saying I was a WWE Superstar.”

Though listed on WWE.com’s page of Superstars, Miller wasn’t an in-ring talent and instead hosted the This Is Awesome show on the WWE Network and Peacock. After three seasons, the show wrapped in the summer of 2024 with WWE citing budget concerns. The clearest indication that his WWE run was over came in January when the This Is Awesome production team was laid off.

“The people who make This Is Awesome were actually laid off in January. And I was like, well, that’s not good. Now there’s no one there to actually make it happen.”

As Miller’s role in WWE continued to diminish, Big E’s continued to grow. Three years after his neck injury the former WWE Champion remains a key part of events, including pre and post-PLE coverage.

“You’ve seen Big E come out and host a bunch of different shows. And I think more than anything, that’s like, ‘Yeah, this is why it doesn’t make sense for Greg Miller, video game dork, to go host anything.”

Despite his exit, Miller was confident that this won’t be the last time fans see him doing things with WWE, and predicted a crossover into the video game world. For now, Miller, a known name in gaming, is ready to take on other projects away from the ring.

0

Broderick Shepherd, known in the wrestling world as Australian Suicide, has tragically passed away at the age of 32.

Born on December 9, 1992, in Melbourne, Australia, Shepherd was a trailblazer who left his home country at just 19 to pursue his dream of becoming a professional wrestler in Mexico. His high-flying, daring style and magnetic persona made him a standout performer in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), where he became a former AAA World Cruiserweight Champion.

Shepherd’s career was defined by his ability to captivate audiences, whether as a masked técnico or as the unmasked anti-hero who thrived on the crowd’s disdain. Beyond his in-ring accomplishments, he was admired for his charisma and dedication to his craft.

He is survived by his partner, fellow wrestler Vanilla Vargas, and their child. May he rest in peace.

Steve Austin Reacts to John Cena’s Heel Turn: ‘Finally’

0

John Cena’s shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber 2025 has the wrestling world buzzing, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is eager to see how fans respond.

Cena turned against Cody Rhodes at the event, aligning with The Rock in a brutal attack that set up a blockbuster Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

In an interview with The Schmo at the Mint 400 race, Austin called the turn a major moment on the road to WrestleMania, but he questioned whether fans would truly see Cena as a villain.

“It had to happen sooner or later. Finally, it happened,” Austin said. “So it’ll be interesting to see whether people accept him as a heel or if he’s actually made himself even more of a babyface.

I think it remains to be seen as the story unfolds. Nonetheless, they’ve kicked off an epic build into WrestleMania.”

As a Nevada resident, Austin has hinted at possibly appearing at WrestleMania 41, but he downplayed any involvement when asked about helping Rhodes against Cena.

“I haven’t been in contact with anybody, so I guess anything could happen,” Austin said. “But right now, my focus is on the Mint 400. I’ve got a brand-new left knee, this is my first race back, and I’m looking to go out there and kick ass.”

WrestleMania 41 takes place at Allegiant Stadium on April 19 and 20. Cena, currently on his retirement tour, is set to compete in his final WrestleMania before his last match in December 2025.

Kai, a former NWA and WWF Women’s Champion, expressed how much it meant to her to see a current WWE Superstar step into an NWA ring. In her post, she reminisced about her own experiences in both promotions and praised Natalya for her dedication to wrestling.

“This morning, I saw the announcement that Natalya Neidhart—a WWE Superstar who just re-signed with the company—is headed to the NWA to compete in the Crockett Cup. And I can’t tell you how much that means to me.”

Kai reflected on the historical divide between WWE and NWA, emphasizing how rare it has been for talent to cross over.

“For years, WWE and NWA have been separate worlds. There have been rare times when they’ve crossed paths, but seeing a current WWE Superstar stepping into an NWA ring—and not just anyone, but Natalya—this is special.”

She went on to praise Natalya as one of the best female wrestlers in the world today, commending her for carrying on the Hart family’s legacy with pride and keeping the art of technical wrestling alive.

Beyond her in-ring ability, Kai highlighted Natalya’s role as a leader in the women’s division:

“For years, I was like a mother to the girls in the locker room. That was a very special role in wrestling… And when I look at Natalya, I see someone who has taken on that same responsibility.”

Kai also reflected on her close relationship with Natalya’s father, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, saying she knows he would be proud of his daughter’s accomplishments.

“Seeing Natalya now—leading, teaching, and now stepping into the NWA—it means a lot to me. It’s history coming full circle.”

Natalya’s Response

Natalya was clearly touched by Kai’s words and took to Twitter to share her appreciation:

“Just seeing this now. This means the world to me coming from a true LEGEND @realLeilaniKai. It’s never lost on me how special my career has been so far and how huge this opportunity is for me ahead. Thank you so much for these words, Leilani??”

With Kai’s endorsement and the wrestling world watching, Natalya’s upcoming NWA appearance is shaping up to be more than just a match—it’s a moment of respect, legacy, and history.

Will Ospreay Reveals Wrestling Moment That Made Him Feel He’d Made It

0

Will Ospreay has opened up about his highly praised match with Bryan Danielson.

The Aerial Assassin recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. He talked about things such as why he chose to sign with AEW, Chris Jericho calling him to warn him against high-risk moves, his post-retirement plans and more.

When asked if he still gets nervous before matches, the former IWGP World champion specifically recalled the Bryan match as something that made him really nervous. Ospreay who had only been signed to AEW for 6 months at that point noted that he couldn’t believe that the match was even happening, let alone so soon after he inked the deal:

“There’s a moment where I’m standing there opposite him and it’s just before the bell rings, we’re standing there looking at one another. He’s got this big smile on his face, and I just couldn’t help but look around as being like man, there’s 7,000 people in here.

I thought for the life of me I would have been just a kid in Japan for the rest of my life. I thought that was that was going to be me, and then just to stand there and look at him and just be like, Oh my God, here it is.”

Always Wanted To Be One Of Those Guys: Will Ospreay

The match between Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson took place at the 2024 Dynasty PPV. Dave Meltzer gave the match six and a half star, his second-highest rating ever given after the famous 7-star Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada match in 2018.

The moment was also one that made Ospreay feel like he had finally achieved what he wanted in pro wrestling. According to him, he always wanted to be one of those names that made the crowd go nuts just by their presence:

“I said, ‘Sir this is going to be a pleasure.’ Then we backed up, the bell rang and I was just like, let’s go. I’ve never felt more like I finally did it. When Bryan and Kenny stood in the ring, the bell rung and the f*cking place stood up. I always wanted to be one of those guys. And at that moment I was like oh sh*t, I finally did it. I’m one of those guys now.”

The Ospreay match would end up being one of the final matches of Bryan’s full-time career. The American Dragon said goodbye to his full time run only months later at the WrestleDream PPV.

Will Ospreay: Triple H’s ‘Grind’ Comment Was About Me

0

Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque stirred up a lot of drama in 2024 when he said that some wrestlers didn’t want the ‘grind’ of being a WWE talent when compared to other promotions. On the Insight podcast, Will Ospreay, who signed with AEW shortly before Levesque’s comments, said WWE’s CCO was speaking about him.

“He was [talking about me]. I’ve got people that I won’t throw under the bus, saying, Yeah, it was about me.”

Levesque didn’t mention any of these alleged grind-avoiding wrestlers by name, and Ospreay isn’t taking the comment personally. Instead, Ospreay believes it’d be foolish for him to loathe Levesque for the comment given they’ve never come face-to-face.

“I don’t hate the guy. I’ve never met him. How can I hate someone that I’ve never even met?”

Ospreay fired back during a 2024 edition of Dynamite, in which he said Levesque had only reached the heights he did by ‘grinding’ on Stephanie McMahon. This would spark its own backlash, with fans pointing out Levesque’s in-ring success and finding the comment about McMahon degrading. Ospreay later regretted his comments, announcing he was done ‘lowering’ himself to tribalism.

There’s never been hard proof that Levesque’s comment was aimed at Ospreay, but according to those in AEW, the belief within WWE is that this is the case. With Ospreay and Levesque seeing success in their respective roles in wrestling though, its clear both are willing to ‘grind’ for their success.

‘Absolute Wonder Woman’ Bears Striking Resemblance to Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley has dominated the landscape of WWE, but has ‘Mami’ made her presence felt in the world of DC Comics? In Absolute Wonder Woman #6, the iconic superhero can be seen climbing a mountain and bears a striking resemblance to the former WWE Women’s World Champion.

Many fans noticed Wonder Woman’s similarity to the WWE Superstar and discussed the comparison on social media.

DC Comics launched its Absolute Universe in late 2024, offering fresh takes on classic characters such as Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman. In this reimagined universe, Diana was raised in Hell rather than on Themyscira, under the guidance of the witch Circe, typically one of her adversaries. This version of Wonder Woman is a much darker character, blending Amazonian strength with dark magic.

From The Ring to the Page

Wrestling and comics are no strangers, with several promotions having their talent recreated for the comic book page. WWE has had several publications published over the years, including with BOOM! Studios in the late 2010s.

As for DC Comics, they recently partnered with AEW, as both parties fall under the Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella. In 2024, several DC titles featured back-up stories detailing the origins of some of AEW’s biggest names. Will Ospreay, Britt Baker, Darby Allin, Swerve Strickland, Orange Cassidy, and ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm were given the comic-book treatment in a treat for wrestling fans and comic readers alike.

Ripley has yet to receive a confirmed appearance in a comic book, but fans certainly took notice of Absolute Wonder Woman’s similarity to the WWE Superstar. With her larger-than-life personality and impressive physique, it may be just a matter of time before Ripley has a comic of her very own.
