Tammy Sytch Hit With Civil Lawsuit Due To Fatal Three-Car Crash (Report)

Tammy Sytch, formerly known as Sunny in WWE, has reportedly been served with a civil lawsuit.

PWInsider is reporting that Sytch received the lawsuit on May 13 in Florida. The report notes that there was an attempt to serve her those papers at her address in New Jersey but she couldn’t be found as she is back in jail after her bail was revoked.

In excess of $100,000 is being sought after in the lawsuit:

“Upon information and belief, on or about March 25, 2022, Defendant SYTCH was intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle owned by Defendant PENTE southbound on N. Yonge Street, at or near the intersection of W. Granada Boulevard in Ormond Beach, Volusia County, Florida.

“Defendant SYTCH operated the motor vehicle with the consent, either express or implied, of Defendant PENTE.

“On or about March 25, 2022, Julian L. Lasseter was also operating a motor vehicle southbound on N. Yonge Street, at or near the intersection of W. Granada Boulevard in Ormond Beach, Volusia County, Florida.

“At the time and place referenced in paragraphs 6 and 8 above, Defendant SYTCH negligently operated or maintained her motor vehicle so that it collided with the rear end of Julian L. Lasseter’s motor vehicle, causing severe and incapacitating injuries to Mr. Lasseter. These injuries resulted in his death on March 25, 2022.”

Tammy Sytch was arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter due to her alleged involvement in a three-vehicle crash.

The wreckage left 75-year-old Julian L. Lasseter dead. The incident occurred on March 25 southbound on U.S. 1 at around 8:28 p.m.

The lawsuit also accuses James F. Pente, Sytch’s boyfriend, of being “vicariously liable” due to allowing her behind the wheel of his vehicle.

Pente has reportedly denied negligence and has challenged Lasseter’s estate to provide “strict proof.”

Tammy Sytch is scheduled to be arraigned on May 31 at 2:30 p.m. ET.

CM Punk Reveals ‘The Most Perfect Match’ He Has Ever Had

0

CM Punk has wrestled some impressive matches since joining AEW in August last year. He has now revealed which one of them has been his favorite so far.

The Straight Edge Star recently had an interview with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi. The wrestling journalist shared a highlight from that chat on Twitter.

According to Raimondi, Punk told him that his match with Dax Hardwood gave him a unique feeling. It was the most perfect match he has had:

“That’s the dragon I’m now chasing. I’m trying to replicate that feeling I had after that match. I never, ever say this, but to me that was the most perfect match I’ve probably ever had.”

CM Punk vs Dax Harwood

CM Punk faced Dax Harwood during the March 23 episode of AEW Dynamite earlier this year. It was the opening match of the night.

The ending of the match that lasted almost 13 minutes saw Hardwood reversing a GTS attempt. The FTR member then managed to lock his opponent into a sharpshooter.

However, Punk countered and he rolled over to transition it into Anaconda Vice. Having targeted Dax’s arm with the same move earlier in the match as well, CM Punk managed to get the win with the submission.

Nikkita Lyons Injury Update

Nikkita Lyons has a legit injury and she’s shared what has gone wrong.

Lyons was expected to compete in the semifinals of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament on May 24.

Plans changed as WWE announced that Lyons suffered an injury but didn’t provide further details.

WWE ended up replacing Lyons with Fallon Henley. Henley lost the semifinal match to Tiffany Stratton.

Nikkita Lyons took to her Instagram account to reveal that she has a partially torn MCL.

“Just wanted to give a little detail on what exactly happened as far as the condition. My knee is it.

“I have a partial tear on my MCL, just a sprain.

“So, it could’ve been worse but it did refrain me from being able to compete in the Women’s Breakout Tournament.

“So, that is why your girl is out but only for — you know the comeback is always stronger than the setback.”

The good news is that Lyons says she will not need surgery. She revealed the MCL will be able to heal on its own in due time.

NJPW Tag Team Invades AEW Dynamite (Video)

Former IWGP Tag Team Champions have invaded AEW.

During the May 25 episode of Dynamite, FTR put the ROH Tag Team Championships up for grabs against Roppongi Vice. The match did not end with a decisive winner.

That’s because Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan of the United Empire interfered and attacked both teams. The referee waved off the match but NJPW’s fierce tag team wasn’t done.

Cobb powerbombed Dax Harwood through a table, while Great-O-Khan slammed Trent Beretta through a table with the Iron Claw slam.

By the end of the chaos, the United Empire members held up the ROH Tag Team Titles.

This is the first true hint at what could be in store for the AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door PPV set for June 26.

Here are the takeaways from this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite

Wardlow Won The Cage Match & Will Face MJF at Double or Nothing

Wardlow battled Shawn Spears in a Steel Cage match. MJF was the special guest referee for the match and was wearing a striped tank top and short shorts. If Wardlow won the match, he would earn a match against MJF at Double or Nothing to escape his contract. MJF checked Wardlow before the match and claimed to have forgotten the keys to the handcuffs. Spears then attacked Wardlow and the match began. MJF stomped the hell out of Wardlow as well in the corner.

Wardlow tried to battle back but MJF raked the eyes and posed for the booing crowd. MJF and Spears sent Wardlow into the cage and high-fived. Spears charged but Wardlow countered into a Back Body Drop and followed it up with a big boot. MJF dared Wardlow to hit him but he couldn’t or the match at Double or Nothing would be off. Wardlow then broke the handcuffs himself and beat the hell out of Spears as MJF watched on in horror.

Spears started climbing the cage but Wardlow followed him. Wardlow clubbed Spears across the back and whipped him down to the canvas. Wardlow barely connected with a Swanton and went for the cover but MJF laughed in his face. MJF hit Wadlow with a low blow and Spears followed it up with the C4 but somehow Wardlow kicked out at two.

MJF and Spears were in shock and paced around the ring as Wardlow began to stir on the canvas. Spears brought a steel chair into the ring and accidentally bashed MJF over the head with it. Wardlow got up and grabbed Spears for the Powerbomb Symphony. Wardlow hit three big Powerbombs and fired up the crowd. Another ref came down to the ring and Wardlow hit a final Powerbomb for the pinfall victory. After the match, Wardlow beat down the security guards as they comically entered the cage one at a time. Wardlow then Powerbombed one of the guards as MJF retreated up the entrance ramp. Wardlow will battle MJF at Double or Nothing this Sunday night on PPV.

CM Punk & Hangman Page Face-to-Face

Tony Schiavone moderated the face-to-face between CM Punk and AEW Champion Hangman Page tonight. Hangman Page will defend the AEW Championship against CM Punk this Sunday at Double or Nothing. Punk got a mixed reaction and claimed he was taking the title at Double or Nothing. Page shouted that there is nothing Punk can do to get the title away from him.

Punk told Hangman that he’s possibly the toughest son of a bitch on the roster and this is not personal. Hangman took the microphone away from Tony Schiavone and reminded Punk that he’s already said he is going to destroy and embarrass him at Double or Nothing. Hangman added that he does not hate Punk, he pities him and doesn’t respect what he’s done since his arrival in AEW. Page said he’s not just defending the AEW title against CM Punk, Hangman shouted that he will be defending All Elite Wrestling from Punk. The crowd loudly chanted “Cowboy Shit!” as Punk once again wondered why Hangman is taking this so personally.

CM Punk said if Hangman is so upset that he’s here, he is going to have to do something on Sunday. Punk added that the roads Hangman traveled to get here were paved by him, and that he gave Page the blueprint. Punk told Hangman that he will shake his hand on Sunday and tonight. Punk shoved Hangman and Page leveled him with a right hand. Punk dropped to the canvas and stared at Hangman to end the segment.

Moxley & Kingston Picked Up A Win

Private Party faced Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley tonight on Dynamite. Jericho Appreciation Society joined commentary for the match. Eddie Kingston beat the hell out of Marq Quen to begin the action and tagged in Moxley. Marq hit an Enziguri and Isiah Kassidy tagged in. Kassidy hit a Splash on Moxley in the corner before Quen tagged back in. Moxley battled back and connected with a Piledriver as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

When Dynamite returned, Kassidy hit Moxley with an Enziguri and Quen followed it up with a Crossbody off the top. Quen knocked Kingston off the apron and delivered a Dropkick that knocked Jon to the outside. Quen flipped onto Kingston and Kassidy hit a dive onto Moxley. Back in the ring, Kassidy hit a Stunner and Quen followed it up with a Shooting Star Press for a two count.

Moxley turned Kassidy inside out with a Clothesline and Kingston hit Quen with the Backfist to the Future. Moxley hit the Paradigm Shift on Kingston and flipped the bird to JAS during the pinfall. After the match, JAS rushed down the ramp for the far too often post match brawl. JAS hit punches and kicks until Bryan Danielson, Santana, and Ortiz made the save. Jericho escaped the brawl and posed in the ring until Danielson attacked him. Chris stomped on Danielson’s knee and Bryan sold an injury. Jericho Appreciation Society will battle Santana, Ortiz, Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, and Bryan Danielson in an Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing.

Jeff Cobb & Great-O-Khan Interfered In The ROH Tag Title Match

FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) defended the ROH Tag Team Championships against Roppongi Vice (Trent Beretta & Rocky Romero). Wheeler and Romero started off the action. Cash applied an armbar but Romero tripped him up. Rocky applied a headlock but Cash powered to his feet. Romero hit a shoulder tackle and knocked Wheeler to the mat.

Romero rolled Cash up and then quickly transitioned into an armbreaker in the middle of the ring. Wheeler escaped and regrouped with Dax outside the ring. Back in the ring, Harwood tagged in and locked up with Beretta. Harwood hit a shoulder tackle but Trent shrugged it off and hit Harwood with some chops to the chest in the corner.

Harwood reversed it and hit a chop before Trent caught him with a boot to his taped ribs. Trent launched Dax into the turnbuckle but Harwood exploded out of the corner and hit a Suplex. Wheeler tagged in and connected with a Leg Drop for a near fall. Cash went for a Suplex but Trent blocked it and Rocky tagged back in. Trent hit a Suplex and Rocky went for the cover but Cash kicked out as Dynamite went to a break.

When Dynamite returned, Cash hit a Suplex on Romero and tagged in Dax. Trent tagged in and Dax greeted him with some jabs to the face. Harwood sent Romero out of the ring but got launched into the turnbuckle by Beretta. Trent followed it up with to Belly to Back Suplexes but Harwood blocked the third. Harwood hit two Belly to Back Suplexes and Trent grabbed onto the ropes. Trent went for a Clothesline and Harwood ducked before hitting the third Belly to Back Suplex. Dax went for the cover but Rocky broke it up at two.

Romero tagged in and Harwood hit an Atomic Drop. Trent and Rocky then hit a double knee strike to Dax’s face and Romero attacked Wheeler outside the ring. Romero hit a Dropkick on Harwood and Trent followed it up with a running knee to the face for a near fall. Cash tripped Romero up on the top rope as Harwood and Trent traded roll-ups. Roppongi Vice hit Strong Zero but Cash broke it up at two. Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan (United Empire in NJPW) attacked to end the match in a DQ. They then beat down both teams and put them through tables after the match. Khan put Trent through a table with an Iron Claw spot that didn’t look good.

Swerve Strickland Won The Triple Threat

FTW Champion Ricky Starks faced Jungle Boy and Swerve Strickland in a Triple Threat match. Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus will defend the AEW Tag Team Championships against Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee, and Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs at Double or Nothing.

Ricky Starks rolled out of the ring and crossed his arms. Swerve offered a handshake to Jungle Boy in the ring and Ricky attacked from behind. Swerve got Jungle Boy in the Electric Chair but he escaped and hit Starks with a Hurricanrana. Jungle Boy ran to the ropes but Starks tripped him up. Ricky followed it up with a big boot and sent Swerve into the barricade. Starks then stomped on him as Dynamite went to a break.

When Dynamite returned, Strickland hit Starks with an Enziguri. Swerve lifted Jungle Boy up for a Suplex but Ricky leveled him with a Spear. Starks hit the Roshambo on Strickland but Jungle Boy caught Ricky in the Snare Trap in the middle of the ring. Starks crawled across the ring and got to the bottom rope to break the hold. Jungle Boy dragged Ricky back to the middle of the ring but Strickland broke the hold up with a Dropkick. Strickland hit Starks with the Swerve Stomp for the pinfall victory.

After the match, you guessed it, there was a brawl for the third time in a row. Powerhouse rushed the ring and hit Strickland with a Clothesline. Luchasaurus and Keith Lee followed. Keith Lee cleared the ring until Ricky Starks was alone. Keith Lee hit a slingshot Splash onto Hobbs and Luchasaurus. Lee hit the floor hard but was alright and posed with Strickland to end the segment.

Thunder Rosa Warned Serena Deeb

Dan Lambert and Men of the Year cut a backstage promo. They will be presenting Scorpio Sky with a new TNT Championship after Sammy Guevara destroyed the title with Frankie Kazarian last week.

Tony Schiavone interviewed AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa on the entrance ramp. She vowed to teach Serena Deeb a lesson in the title match at Double or Nothing.

Britt Baker Advanced To The Finals Of The Owen Hart Tournament

Britt Baker battled Toni Storm in the semifinals of the women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Toni dominated the action early and got Britt in an armbar. Baker escaped but Toni then locked her in a headscissors in the middle of the ring. The action spilled to the outside and Baker bounced Storm’s face off the apron. Toni battled back with a boot to the face but Britt raked her eyes. Baker then smashed Toni into the steel steps as Dynamite went to a break.

When Dynamite returned, Britt was still in control as Jamie Hayter made her way ringside. Baker connected with a Neckbreaker for a near fall. Britt went for a Clothesline but Toni ducked and slammed Baker to the mat. Toni went for a roll-up and Britt reversed it and grabbed the rope for leverage. This appeared to be a botched finish as Hayter was way late getting over there and it looked awkward. The referee still managed to not see anything and Baker won via pinfall. Britt is now in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Samoa Joe Will Face Adam Cole In The Finals Of The Owen Hart Tournament At Double Or Nothing

Samoa Joe faced Kyle O’Reilly in the semifinals of the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Joe locked up with O’Reilly to begin the action. Joe took control and leveled O’Reilly with an uppercut for a near fall. Samoa Joe followed it up with a Suplex for another two count. O’Reilly hit a knee strike and slammed Joe to the mat. Kyle stomped on Joe a couple times before hitting some elbow strikes to the midsection.

O’Reilly delivered a knee to the ribs and then a boot to Joe’s face as he tried to get up. Kyle hit Joe with some more knee strikes but Joe shrugged them off and leveled O’Reilly with a shoulder tackle. Kyle connected with a Dragon Screw and then climbed to the top rope. O’Reilly hit a Knee Drop for a two count and then went for an armbar but Joe got to the ropes as Dynamite went to a final commercial break.

Back from the commercial, Joe and O’Reilly traded kicks in the middle of the ring. Joe got the better of the exchange and hit an Atomic Drop followed by a big boot. Samoa Joe hit a Senton and went for the cover but Kyle kicked out at two. Joe went for the Muscle Buster but O’Reilly escaped. Kyle got Joe in a submission hold in the middle of the ring but Joe reached the ropes and the match continued.

Joe connected with an Enziguri but O’Reilly bounced off the ropes and punted Joe in the face. Samoa Joe and O’Reilly got up in opposite corners of the ring. Joe went for a Uranage but O’Reilly countered with an armdrag. Joe trapped O’Reilly in a chokehold in the middle of the ring and O’Reilly passed out. Samoa Joe will battle Adam Cole in the finals of the men’s Owen Hart Tournament at Double or Nothing. Adam Cole came to the entrance ramp and had a stare down with Joe to end Dynamite.

Actor Jon Hamm: “I’ll Always Be An ’80s WWF Guy”

0

One of the most popular eras of pro-wrestling took place in the 1980s, as WWE (WWF at the time) was the home of some of the most iconic characters of all-time, including the Immortal Hulk Hogan, The “Macho Man” Randy Savage, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, and many more.

While WWE, and the rest of the industry, would change drastically in the 90s and even more in the new millennia, the love of the Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Era remains strong, and no one knows that better than A-list actor, Jon Hamm.

Hamm, who is best known for his role as Don Draper on the Emmy award winning series Mad Men, recently spoke with Sports Illustrated to promote his role in the feature film Top Gun: Maverick, which was released in theaters yesterday and stars box-office juggernaut, Tom Cruise. While Hamm spoke about the film he also touched on this particular era of pro-wrestling, one that he admits he’ll always be a fan of.

“That’s the golden era of professional wrestling. I’ll always be an ’80s WWF guy.”

Hamm is not just a fan of wrestling…he also understands how the business works. He later tells the publication that film acting is very similar to the babyface/heel dynamic that exists in the sport.

“In film acting, you’re only as good as the person you’re sharing that space with, and in this case, I had the opportunity to share it with one of Hollywood’s greatest movie stars. It’s no different [in pro wrestling]; you need that [heel], that someone to play off of.”

Finally Hamm reveals one of his favorite stars of that era, as well as a moment that he will never forget.

“I was a big Andre the Giant fan. He made everything he did so interesting. And Hogan slamming Andre, that’s a moment you never forget. I’ll always be in awe of that ’80s era.”

Top Gun: Maverick is currently rocking a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, and is eyeing a potential $100 million dollar opening weekend.

AEW Recently Had Talks With Killer Kross (Report)

AEW reportedly tried to have Killer Kross appear on Dynamite but it didn’t pan out.

The promotion has been running an in-depth storyline involving MJF and his former bodyguard Wardlow.

On the May 4 episode of Dynamite, MJF had a mystery opponent for Wardlow. It ended up being W. Morrissey of IMPACT Wrestling.

Wardlow ultimately picked up the win.

Failed Talks

Fightful is reporting that AEW initially wanted that spot to be for Killer Kross.

The report notes that the two sides couldn’t come to an agreement. It’s been said that Kross expressed concern over the creative direction.

His main issue was the feeling that debuting in the promotion without his wife, Scarlett Bordeaux, would’ve been no different than how he was treated on WWE’s main roster.

The report also mentions that the two sides are still open to doing business down the line.

Roman Reigns Shaken to the Core by Two-Year-Old Fan at WWE Live Event

0

Roman Reigns may have spent the past two years telling fans to acknowledge him, but the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion had no choice but to recognize a young fan at a recent WWE Live event.

In a video posted on Instagram and later shared by WWE on BT Sport, Reigns can be seen confronting the young fan, whose glare shakes the “Head of the Table” to his core.

Reigns can be seen watching the fan in fear much to the delight of the crowd.

Returning to the ring, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion responds with a glare of his own.

Roman Reigns at WWE Live events

While Reigns may be WWE’s most detestable heel on screen, his actions at WWE Live events have been far more friendly than the man fans see on TV.

Reigns will often end WWE Live events by thanking the fans for coming and wishing them safe travels on the way home from the arena.

The “Tribal Chief” is also able to be more relaxed at untelevised shows compared to TV tapings of Raw or SmackDown.

Last December, Reigns joked with a fan who said they loved him in Aquaman, comparing the WWE Superstar to the film’s lead Jason Mamoa.

Reigns joked that the film would have made much more money had he been the star.

Earlier this week, Reigns seemingly revealed that he will soon finish competing at WWE Live events, as part of a new lucrative deal with the company.

Reigns’ new contract will also see him wrestle less on TV, including missing the upcoming WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 Premium Live Event.

Tony Khan on the Importance Of Hardcore Wrestling Fans & How They Helped Grow AEW

0

This weekend AEW will invade the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Nevada for their fourth-ever Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

Company president Tony Khan recently joined Sports Media with Richard Deitsch to hype up the annual event, as well as discuss a number of interesting topics regarding AEW’s third year in business.

Khan began by addressing the constant criticism of WWE Hall of Famer and former WCW president Eric Bischoff, who believes that AEW needs to do a better job at catering to the casual fan. Khan believes that Bischoff has a point, but thinks it is just as important to remember the hardcore fan.

“I think Eric’s point that you want to have a lot of fans is also valid. But my thoughts on it are – and you know this, some of this might relate to Eric’s experiences. But certainly, there were a lot of things that happened with the history of WCW, and the rise of WCW and then what became of it, that I think it’s really important to remember the hardcore fan.”

Hardcore Fans Have Helped AEW

On the subject of the hardcore fan Khan explains how vital they have been to AEW’s business growth, crediting their word-of-mouth and engagement with one another as a key reason he likes to make a product suitable for them.

“I think another great thing about the hardcore fan is the word of mouth. From when I started in high school, wrestling was not cool when I first got into high school as a function of what was happening with the world of wrestling. And before it had a chance to get really hot as a business, I made a few fans right off the bat as a virus spreading fan, just by being a hardcore, that would rope other people into watching wrestling with me.”

“And if you get some social people, what you can get is really good word of mouth, just like in the film industry and with TV shows, in which we are a TV show. So I think you can grow your TV show by having a big hardcore base that you service and support, but also by trying to spread the word and trying to not only spread the word of yourself and get out and engage with fans, but hopefully have the fans engaging with other fans.”

Ending his rant…Khan states that catering to all fans are important, especially for a young company, but does believe that turning those casuals into hardcores is the ultimate goal.

“And I think in general, all the fans are important, but you have to remember, again, you know, everybody has a beginning. So you want to make fans from the beginning and then hopefully try to make them into hardcore fans. I mean, the more hardcore fan somebody is, that’s good, right?”

Listen to Tony Khan’s appearance on the Sports Media Podcast:

This weekend’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view will be headlined by CM Punk challenging Adam Page for the AEW world championship.

WWE Brand Split is “Essentially Done”

0

WWE fans can expect to see more of their favorite Superstars on both Raw and SmackDown as the brand split is considered to be finished.

In 2016, WWE reintroduced the brand split, five years after merging Raw and Smackdown’s rosters into one collective.

According to Bryan Alverez who spoke on Wrestling Observer Live, WWE is doing away with the brand split, and fans can see more Superstars appear on both brands.

“They haven’t officially said anything, but the brand extension is essentially done. Half of the Raw crew is going to be on SmackDown Friday. Cody’s going to be there, I think Seth is going to be there. They’re just going to do whatever.”

Bryan Alvarez

Andrew Zarian followed up on this, saying that a WWE source told him that while the company doesn’t plan on officially announcing the end of the brand split, there will be far more crossover going forward.

Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens have all been advertised for this Friday’s SmackDown though it’s unclear if they’ll appear on the broadcast.

In addition to this trio, Roman Reigns is also able to appear on both Raw and SmackDown due to his place as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

The Usos are also able to appear on both Raw and SmackDown after unifying both brands’ tag team titles following their win over RK-Bro last week.

Wrestling couple Veda Scott and “Speedball” Mike Bailey married

0

Veda Scott and “Speedball” Mike Bailey are officially married after tying the knot this week.

The happy couple got engaged in November 2020 but have had to wait out the Covid-19 pandemic and two busy schedules before getting married.

On social media, Veda announced the big news, sharing some photos from their ceremony.

It appears that the couple was married by an Elvis Presley impersonator.

Bailey is considered by many to be one of the hottest names in wrestling outside of WWE and AEW.

After working his way through promotions including CZW, PROGRESS, Rev Pro, and Ring of Honor, the “Speedball” signed with Impact Wrestling in 2021 and debuted this year.

Veda has worked as both a professional wrestler and valet and has competed for Ring of Honor, Shimmer, and Absolute Intense Wrestling.

Scott made their TNA Wrestling debut in 2014 at the One Night Only Knockouts Knockdown event, losing to TNA veteran Gail Kim.

In 2020, Scott briefly worked for AEW, providing commentary for the Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament, and later joined the commentary team on AEW Dark.

We here at SEScoops would like to congratulate Bailey and Scott on this joyous occasion.

Booker T Not a Fan of WWE Unifying Tag Team Titles

0

Booker T is not a fan of WWE unifying their tag team titles recently.

On this past Friday’s episode of SmackDown Live, The Usos beat RK-Bro to capture the RAW Tag Team Championships. Going into the matchup, The Usos were already the SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions.

Now, The Usos are the Unified Tag Team Champions of WWE, joining The Bloodline leader, Roman Reigns, as dual-brand champions.

Recently, two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T took to his podcast, “The Hall Of Fame,” to offer his thoughts on this creative decision. He explained that he’s a fan of having Tag Team Champions on different brands.

And although The Usos might be able to work both brands, the toll of having to defend both of those titles on the road, both physically and personally, could be dire.

“I like having at least two tag team belts, one Smackdown, one Raw. You may not understand what that does to the body of guys trying to do that, but they’re going to have to defend those championships on the house shows, European tours, Monday night, Friday night, and put those guys in a position where they got to work all week long.

“I’m thinking about protecting myself and making sure I can have a minute with my family. To have to defend the Tag Team Championship all the time, those guys aren’t going to have no time at home.

“I’m going to tell you that right now. They’re going to have about one day at home to prepare and one day to get ready to get back on the road.”

It remains to be seen if WWE decides to unify the Tag Team Titles into one set of belts, or if The Usos will drop one set of those titles in the near future.

What do you think WWE will end up doing with the Tag Team Championships? Sound off in the comments below!

Britt Baker Sounds Off on Sasha Banks-WWE Controversy

Britt Baker and Sasha Banks would be on a collision course if the doctor had her way.

Sasha and Naomi have taken the wrestling world by storm following their recent actions. The two walked out of the May 16 episode of Monday Night Raw over creative differences.

They were the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions but placed their titles on the desk of John Laurinaitis and left the building. They had been booked for a six-pack challenge.

WWE has suspended Sasha Banks and Naomi indefinitely.

Britt Baker vs. Sasha Banks?

During an interview with Forbes, Britt Baker said she’s aware that Sasha has been trending and would have no problem sharing the ring with her.

“Since it’s a pretty hot topic right now, I’m going to say Sasha Banks.… I think she is one of the top draws in all of WWE. She’s such a superstar, she’s such a good wrestler,” Baker said.

“She’s definitely somebody that I would love to wrestle.”

– Britt Baker on Sasha Banks

It’s been said that the Sasha-Naomi situation with WWE is only going to get worse.

On WWE TV, the company has publicly blasted its former Women’s Tag Team Champions.

WWE has had both Michael Cole and Corey Graves call the duo “unprofessional” and say that they let down millions of fans.

WWE SmackDown Superstar Receives Minor Name Change

WWE has made a small alteration to the name of a SmackDown talent.

The company introduced Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser to the main roster back in April. Kaiser has served as Gunther’s manager.

WWE has already made a change to Kaiser’s first name but it’s quite minor.

Instead of “Ludwig,” he’ll now be referred to as Ludvig Kaiser. The switch has been spotted on the WWE.com roster page.

image 1

This is perhaps the least egregious WWE name change we’ve seen in some time. The company has been known to make drastic changes to how characters are named when called up from the NXT brand.

Gunther is actually a prime example. He had gone by his real name, Walter, on the indies and on NXT before being called up to the SmackDown roster.

The good news for fans of Gunther is that his character and in-ring presence have remained the same.

It seems WWE is gearing up for a program with Gunther and WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet.

Bully Ray Pitches Idea for New WWE Title, Scrapping U.S. & IC Belts

0

Bully Ray has never been shy to share his thoughts on WWE titles.

His comments recently were no different, as Ray made a suggestion on Busted Open Radio to scrap the WWE’s United States Title, and the Intercontinental Titles. However, in turn, Ray suggests creating a Ironhorse, Ironman, or Ironwoman Championship.

The idea being that the title holder would wrestling on a weekly basis on both brands. Ray then suggested that someone like Ciampa would be a perfect talent to showcase such a championship.

“Maybe they should [get rid of the US and IC Title], but I would love to see them do what I’ve been talking about for a while now – the Ironhorse, Ironman, Ironwoman Championship – a wrestler that wrestles every single week on RAW and SmackDown.”

‘Workhorse’ Championship

Bret Hart as Intercontinental Champion
Bret Hart exemplified “workhorse” as WWF Intercontinental Champion (1991-1992)

“Back in the day when I originally thought of this, I said wrestle on RAW, NXT and SmackDown. Obviously NXT now being a definitive developmental brand, I’ll take NXT out of the equation.

“I want to see this person wrestle on RAW and SmackDown. You know who would be a great workhorse champion?

“A guy like Ciampa, a guy like Ricochet – a guy that can go out there every single night and have great, great matches on television. Who are you?

“I’m not the world champion but I’m the best wrestler for any given 15 minutes on television. That’s what the championship represents.”

Currently, Ricochet holds the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and is not involved in a major program. As for the United States Championship, that’s currently held by Theory, the pupil of Vince McMahon.

Arguably, both those titles haven’t been featured as prominently as they once were years ago. Perhaps Ray’s suggestion of giving the title structure a refresh is a viable option to consider.

What do you think about Bully Ray suggesting scrapping the United States and Intercontinental Titles for a Ironman Championship? Let us know in the comments!

Lex Luger’s Mother Passes Away

Former two-time WCW Champion Lex Luger has shared some unfortunate news.

Luger has taken to his Twitter account to reveal that his mother passed away this morning (May 25).

“My dear sweet precious mom entered into heaven early this morning. Please join me in celebrating a remarkable life well lived. I love you mom. I will see you again. Thank you Jesus!!!”

“John 14:1-4.”

It’s safe to say that Luger made his mother proud given the career he had.

As mentioned, he captured the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice. He also had a two-year run with WWE.

While Luger didn’t make too many within WWE happy at the height of the Monday Night Wars, jumping ship to WCW, the two sides are at a much better place now.

Luger has appeared in several WWE video games, last being featured on WWE 2K19.

Luger has yet to enter the WWE Hall of Fame but Jim Ross and Mick Foley have called for his induction.

We at SEScoops send our condolences to Lex Luger and his family.

Another WWE Star Likely Undergoing Gimmick Change

‘Tis the season for gimmick changes.

It looks like another WWE superstar will be getting a massive change. It had already been reported that discussions for a change in character for Madcap Moss were held.

As it turns out, now an NXT star will be getting that same treatment but he won’t be going to the main roster just yet.

Giovanni Vinci Is Fabian Aichner?

Since Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser made their main roster debuts, Fabian Aichner has seemingly been the odd man out. He has not been called up to the SmackDown roster and it looks like his days with Gunther and Kaiser are over.

During the May 24 episode of NXT 2.0, a vignette aired introducing the Giovanni Vinci character.

Speculation has run rampant that this will be a gimmick change for Fabian Aichner. Aichner hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since April 5.

It’s been reported by WrestlingNews.co that WWE has talked about dropping aspects of Aichner’s character when he was a member of The Imperium.

Sasha Banks Working On Project Amid WWE Suspension

Sasha Banks may be off WWE TV for the foreseeable future but she will be staying busy.

“The Boss” and Naomi were scheduled to perform in a six-pack challenge on the May 16 episode of Raw. They ended up walking out of the show due to creative differences.

It’s been said that the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions weren’t happy with how the division was being presented.

PWInsider reported that Naomi was expected to challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at Hell in a Cell on June 5.

Sasha would’ve challenged Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

Both Sasha and Naomi were expected to lose those singles title matches.

As a result of their actions, Sasha Banks and Naomi have been suspended indefinitely.

New Project

Sasha’s cousin, legendary rapper Snoop Dogg, recently spoke to Logan Paul on his Impaulsive podcast.

During the show, Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus revealed that Sasha is possibly working on some NFTs.

Alexa Bliss Turns To Police After Creep Threatens Her Life

WWE superstar Alexa Bliss has been threatened by a deranged fan online and she has turned in threatening messages to the authorities.

Bliss has been on the receiving end of some alarming messages from lunatics in the past. At one point, she even stepped away from social media after some were constantly bashing her over her relationship with now-husband Ryan Cabrera.

Things have gotten far worse as Instagram user, jpeak5402, has been sending concerning comments on Alexa’s Instagram page.

Alexa revealed that the user sent people DMs threatening to shoot her and her husband. Alexa Bliss said that she has turned in those DMs to the police.

Despite this, the fan continues to go unhinged on social media:

“@alexa_bliss_wwe_ got you on that hush mode now hahahaha

This isn’t the first time a woman on the WWE roster has had to deal with some creep online.

Sonya Deville had a stalker situation where a man, Phillip A. Thomas, entered her home with a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape, and mace.

Kevin Owens Mocks Edge for Teasing new Members of The Judgement Day

0

Kevin Owens has poked fun at Edge’s recent teases for a fourth member of The Judgement Day.

On social media, the WWE Hall of Famer has teased several possible members to the faction, including Ciampa, Bayley, and Corey Graves.

Edge has also teased AJ Styles, Finn Balor, and Liv Morgan, all of whom The Judgement Day is currently feuding against.

With some tweets of his own, Owens shared images of cats, and like Edge, gave no caption for the image.

What’s next for The Judgement Day?

The Judgement Day has proven to be a formidable force since debuting earlier this year, but it has been reported that the group will gain a fourth member.

While Edge is teasing several names, it’s been reported that Finn Balor will be the next to join the group, presumably turning on Styles and Morgan.

The Judgement Day is the latest faction for Edge, who was once part of The Undertaker’s Ministry of Darkness and ran his own faction ‘La Familia’ from 2007 to 2008.

There’s no confirmation on when the fourth member of The Judgement Day will be revealed on WWE TV.

Mia Yim Calls out WWE For Changing a Superstar’s Gimmick Just to Release Them

0

Impact Wrestling star Mia Yim has hit out at WWE for changing the gimmicks of Superstars only to later release them.

Yim was cut from WWE in November 2021, and returned to Impact Wrestling earlier this month.

On Twitter, Yim responded to a fan who said her release was because she was not willing to work with WWE’s ideas.

Yim pointed out that she did change gimmicks because that is what WWE wanted and she was still released.

Mia Yim in WWE

While Yim made sporadic appearances in WWE in 2014-2015 as a Rosebud, her first time in the ring was as part of the 2017 Mae Young Classic.

Yim defeated Sarah Logan in the first round but was eliminated by Shayna Baszler in the second, and signed a contract with WWE in 2018.

Competing in the 2018 tournament, Yim made it to the quarterfinals, where she lost to Toni Storm.

In 2020, Yim was called up to the main roster as ‘Reckoning’ part of the Retribution stable.

In the October 2021 draft, Yim was moved to Raw, but was released before she competed on the red brand.

Will Ospreay On Who He Would Like To Face At Forbidden Door

0

Will Ospreay is guaranteed to be featured in a big match at the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV. If it’s left up to him, he would like to face someone who is an AEW original at the show.

The former IWGP Heavyweight champion recently spoke to Wresthings podcast. He mentioned how Bryan Danielson and CM Punk are ‘obvious’ opponents for him.

Though discussing what kind of opponent he would like to face, Ospreay said that he would like to compete against a homegrown AEW star on the show:

“I would like a challenge and what I mean by that is I would like a homemade guy, like someone that didn’t come from NXT, that didn’t come from New Japan,

Because I think that’s the challenge.” said Will Ospreay, “Can I do like a sick match with someone that was born and made in AEW? … Jungle Boy, I’d love to tear it up with him.”

The NJPW star praised AEW for its product saying that it makes him excited to be a wrestling fan. He then reiterated how he would love to face a ‘grassroots’ AEW name at the PPV event.

AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door will be taking place from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Sunday, June 26. No matches have been announced for the event yet but fans expect the show to feature some dream encounters.

One such wild rumor that had been circulating recently is that Hulk Hogan will be coming out of retirement to face the 16-time world champion.

Flair was asked about these speculations by Conrad Thompson on the latest episode of his podcast. Replying to it, Ric confirmed that Hogan will be present at the show, but he wouldn’t actually be wrestling:

“Not that I know. I think you would have run that by me…He’s invited. I’ve talked to him personally to come to the roast and come watch the match. But yeah, he hasn’t confirmed for sure but I’m pretty sure he’ll be there.”

Ric Flair has announced that he will be returning to the ring for the first time in more than a decade later this year. His in-ring return will take place at the upcoming Starrcast V event over the SummerSlam weekend.
