Wrestling couple Veda Scott and “Speedball” Mike Bailey married

0

Veda Scott and “Speedball” Mike Bailey are officially married after tying the knot this week.

The happy couple got engaged in November 2020 but have had to wait out the Covid-19 pandemic and two busy schedules before getting married.

On social media, Veda announced the big news, sharing some photos from their ceremony.

It appears that the couple was married by an Elvis Presley impersonator.

Bailey is considered by many to be one of the hottest names in wrestling outside of WWE and AEW.

After working his way through promotions including CZW, PROGRESS, Rev Pro, and Ring of Honor, the “Speedball” signed with Impact Wrestling in 2021 and debuted this year.

Veda has worked as both a professional wrestler and valet and has competed for Ring of Honor, Shimmer, and Absolute Intense Wrestling.

Scott made their TNA Wrestling debut in 2014 at the One Night Only Knockouts Knockdown event, losing to TNA veteran Gail Kim.

In 2020, Scott briefly worked for AEW, providing commentary for the Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament, and later joined the commentary team on AEW Dark.

We here at SEScoops would like to congratulate Bailey and Scott on this joyous occasion.

Booker T Not a Fan of WWE Unifying Tag Team Titles

0

Booker T is not a fan of WWE unifying their tag team titles recently.

On this past Friday’s episode of SmackDown Live, The Usos beat RK-Bro to capture the RAW Tag Team Championships. Going into the matchup, The Usos were already the SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions.

Now, The Usos are the Unified Tag Team Champions of WWE, joining The Bloodline leader, Roman Reigns, as dual-brand champions.

Recently, two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T took to his podcast, “The Hall Of Fame,” to offer his thoughts on this creative decision. He explained that he’s a fan of having Tag Team Champions on different brands.

And although The Usos might be able to work both brands, the toll of having to defend both of those titles on the road, both physically and personally, could be dire.

“I like having at least two tag team belts, one Smackdown, one Raw. You may not understand what that does to the body of guys trying to do that, but they’re going to have to defend those championships on the house shows, European tours, Monday night, Friday night, and put those guys in a position where they got to work all week long.

“I’m thinking about protecting myself and making sure I can have a minute with my family. To have to defend the Tag Team Championship all the time, those guys aren’t going to have no time at home.

“I’m going to tell you that right now. They’re going to have about one day at home to prepare and one day to get ready to get back on the road.”

It remains to be seen if WWE decides to unify the Tag Team Titles into one set of belts, or if The Usos will drop one set of those titles in the near future.

What do you think WWE will end up doing with the Tag Team Championships? Sound off in the comments below!

Britt Baker Sounds Off on Sasha Banks-WWE Controversy

Britt Baker and Sasha Banks would be on a collision course if the doctor had her way.

Sasha and Naomi have taken the wrestling world by storm following their recent actions. The two walked out of the May 16 episode of Monday Night Raw over creative differences.

They were the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions but placed their titles on the desk of John Laurinaitis and left the building. They had been booked for a six-pack challenge.

WWE has suspended Sasha Banks and Naomi indefinitely.

Britt Baker vs. Sasha Banks?

During an interview with Forbes, Britt Baker said she’s aware that Sasha has been trending and would have no problem sharing the ring with her.

“Since it’s a pretty hot topic right now, I’m going to say Sasha Banks.… I think she is one of the top draws in all of WWE. She’s such a superstar, she’s such a good wrestler,” Baker said.

“She’s definitely somebody that I would love to wrestle.”

– Britt Baker on Sasha Banks

It’s been said that the Sasha-Naomi situation with WWE is only going to get worse.

On WWE TV, the company has publicly blasted its former Women’s Tag Team Champions.

WWE has had both Michael Cole and Corey Graves call the duo “unprofessional” and say that they let down millions of fans.

WWE SmackDown Superstar Receives Minor Name Change

WWE has made a small alteration to the name of a SmackDown talent.

The company introduced Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser to the main roster back in April. Kaiser has served as Gunther’s manager.

WWE has already made a change to Kaiser’s first name but it’s quite minor.

Instead of “Ludwig,” he’ll now be referred to as Ludvig Kaiser. The switch has been spotted on the WWE.com roster page.

image 1

This is perhaps the least egregious WWE name change we’ve seen in some time. The company has been known to make drastic changes to how characters are named when called up from the NXT brand.

Gunther is actually a prime example. He had gone by his real name, Walter, on the indies and on NXT before being called up to the SmackDown roster.

The good news for fans of Gunther is that his character and in-ring presence have remained the same.

It seems WWE is gearing up for a program with Gunther and WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet.

Bully Ray Pitches Idea for New WWE Title, Scrapping U.S. & IC Belts

0

Bully Ray has never been shy to share his thoughts on WWE titles.

His comments recently were no different, as Ray made a suggestion on Busted Open Radio to scrap the WWE’s United States Title, and the Intercontinental Titles. However, in turn, Ray suggests creating a Ironhorse, Ironman, or Ironwoman Championship.

The idea being that the title holder would wrestling on a weekly basis on both brands. Ray then suggested that someone like Ciampa would be a perfect talent to showcase such a championship.

“Maybe they should [get rid of the US and IC Title], but I would love to see them do what I’ve been talking about for a while now – the Ironhorse, Ironman, Ironwoman Championship – a wrestler that wrestles every single week on RAW and SmackDown.”

‘Workhorse’ Championship

Bret Hart as Intercontinental Champion
Bret Hart exemplified “workhorse” as WWF Intercontinental Champion (1991-1992)

“Back in the day when I originally thought of this, I said wrestle on RAW, NXT and SmackDown. Obviously NXT now being a definitive developmental brand, I’ll take NXT out of the equation.

“I want to see this person wrestle on RAW and SmackDown. You know who would be a great workhorse champion?

“A guy like Ciampa, a guy like Ricochet – a guy that can go out there every single night and have great, great matches on television. Who are you?

“I’m not the world champion but I’m the best wrestler for any given 15 minutes on television. That’s what the championship represents.”

Currently, Ricochet holds the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and is not involved in a major program. As for the United States Championship, that’s currently held by Theory, the pupil of Vince McMahon.

Arguably, both those titles haven’t been featured as prominently as they once were years ago. Perhaps Ray’s suggestion of giving the title structure a refresh is a viable option to consider.

What do you think about Bully Ray suggesting scrapping the United States and Intercontinental Titles for a Ironman Championship? Let us know in the comments!

Lex Luger’s Mother Passes Away

Former two-time WCW Champion Lex Luger has shared some unfortunate news.

Luger has taken to his Twitter account to reveal that his mother passed away this morning (May 25).

“My dear sweet precious mom entered into heaven early this morning. Please join me in celebrating a remarkable life well lived. I love you mom. I will see you again. Thank you Jesus!!!”

“John 14:1-4.”

It’s safe to say that Luger made his mother proud given the career he had.

As mentioned, he captured the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice. He also had a two-year run with WWE.

While Luger didn’t make too many within WWE happy at the height of the Monday Night Wars, jumping ship to WCW, the two sides are at a much better place now.

Luger has appeared in several WWE video games, last being featured on WWE 2K19.

Luger has yet to enter the WWE Hall of Fame but Jim Ross and Mick Foley have called for his induction.

We at SEScoops send our condolences to Lex Luger and his family.

Another WWE Star Likely Undergoing Gimmick Change

‘Tis the season for gimmick changes.

It looks like another WWE superstar will be getting a massive change. It had already been reported that discussions for a change in character for Madcap Moss were held.

As it turns out, now an NXT star will be getting that same treatment but he won’t be going to the main roster just yet.

Giovanni Vinci Is Fabian Aichner?

Since Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser made their main roster debuts, Fabian Aichner has seemingly been the odd man out. He has not been called up to the SmackDown roster and it looks like his days with Gunther and Kaiser are over.

During the May 24 episode of NXT 2.0, a vignette aired introducing the Giovanni Vinci character.

Speculation has run rampant that this will be a gimmick change for Fabian Aichner. Aichner hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since April 5.

It’s been reported by WrestlingNews.co that WWE has talked about dropping aspects of Aichner’s character when he was a member of The Imperium.

Sasha Banks Working On Project Amid WWE Suspension

Sasha Banks may be off WWE TV for the foreseeable future but she will be staying busy.

“The Boss” and Naomi were scheduled to perform in a six-pack challenge on the May 16 episode of Raw. They ended up walking out of the show due to creative differences.

It’s been said that the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions weren’t happy with how the division was being presented.

PWInsider reported that Naomi was expected to challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at Hell in a Cell on June 5.

Sasha would’ve challenged Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

Both Sasha and Naomi were expected to lose those singles title matches.

As a result of their actions, Sasha Banks and Naomi have been suspended indefinitely.

New Project

Sasha’s cousin, legendary rapper Snoop Dogg, recently spoke to Logan Paul on his Impaulsive podcast.

During the show, Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus revealed that Sasha is possibly working on some NFTs.

Alexa Bliss Turns To Police After Creep Threatens Her Life

WWE superstar Alexa Bliss has been threatened by a deranged fan online and she has turned in threatening messages to the authorities.

Bliss has been on the receiving end of some alarming messages from lunatics in the past. At one point, she even stepped away from social media after some were constantly bashing her over her relationship with now-husband Ryan Cabrera.

Things have gotten far worse as Instagram user, jpeak5402, has been sending concerning comments on Alexa’s Instagram page.

Alexa revealed that the user sent people DMs threatening to shoot her and her husband. Alexa Bliss said that she has turned in those DMs to the police.

Despite this, the fan continues to go unhinged on social media:

“@alexa_bliss_wwe_ got you on that hush mode now hahahaha

“@alexa_bliss_wwe_ so you can’t stop me there what you going to do put an restraining order on me that’s not goin to work cause you can’t do that sweetheart nice try tho

“@alexa_bliss_wwe_ I’m still going to talk to your ex matt [Buddy Matthews] you can’t stop me to talk to him hell he has a better woman than you and you can’t stop that

“@alexa_bliss_wwe_ plus for your information I took my daughter bliss stuff including that dumb ass doll of yours I burned everything of your merchandise my daughter doesn’t know and you can’t stop that I should I have sent you the video hahahaha”

This isn’t the first time a woman on the WWE roster has had to deal with some creep online.

Sonya Deville had a stalker situation where a man, Phillip A. Thomas, entered her home with a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape, and mace.

Kevin Owens Mocks Edge for Teasing new Members of The Judgement Day

0

Kevin Owens has poked fun at Edge’s recent teases for a fourth member of The Judgement Day.

On social media, the WWE Hall of Famer has teased several possible members to the faction, including Ciampa, Bayley, and Corey Graves.

Edge has also teased AJ Styles, Finn Balor, and Liv Morgan, all of whom The Judgement Day is currently feuding against.

With some tweets of his own, Owens shared images of cats, and like Edge, gave no caption for the image.

What’s next for The Judgement Day?

The Judgement Day has proven to be a formidable force since debuting earlier this year, but it has been reported that the group will gain a fourth member.

While Edge is teasing several names, it’s been reported that Finn Balor will be the next to join the group, presumably turning on Styles and Morgan.

The Judgement Day is the latest faction for Edge, who was once part of The Undertaker’s Ministry of Darkness and ran his own faction ‘La Familia’ from 2007 to 2008.

There’s no confirmation on when the fourth member of The Judgement Day will be revealed on WWE TV.

Mia Yim Calls out WWE For Changing a Superstar’s Gimmick Just to Release Them

0

Impact Wrestling star Mia Yim has hit out at WWE for changing the gimmicks of Superstars only to later release them.

Yim was cut from WWE in November 2021, and returned to Impact Wrestling earlier this month.

On Twitter, Yim responded to a fan who said her release was because she was not willing to work with WWE’s ideas.

Yim pointed out that she did change gimmicks because that is what WWE wanted and she was still released.

Mia Yim in WWE

While Yim made sporadic appearances in WWE in 2014-2015 as a Rosebud, her first time in the ring was as part of the 2017 Mae Young Classic.

Yim defeated Sarah Logan in the first round but was eliminated by Shayna Baszler in the second, and signed a contract with WWE in 2018.

Competing in the 2018 tournament, Yim made it to the quarterfinals, where she lost to Toni Storm.

In 2020, Yim was called up to the main roster as ‘Reckoning’ part of the Retribution stable.

In the October 2021 draft, Yim was moved to Raw, but was released before she competed on the red brand.

Will Ospreay On Who He Would Like To Face At Forbidden Door

0

Will Ospreay is guaranteed to be featured in a big match at the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV. If it’s left up to him, he would like to face someone who is an AEW original at the show.

The former IWGP Heavyweight champion recently spoke to Wresthings podcast. He mentioned how Bryan Danielson and CM Punk are ‘obvious’ opponents for him.

Though discussing what kind of opponent he would like to face, Ospreay said that he would like to compete against a homegrown AEW star on the show:

“I would like a challenge and what I mean by that is I would like a homemade guy, like someone that didn’t come from NXT, that didn’t come from New Japan,

Because I think that’s the challenge.” said Will Ospreay, “Can I do like a sick match with someone that was born and made in AEW? … Jungle Boy, I’d love to tear it up with him.”

The NJPW star praised AEW for its product saying that it makes him excited to be a wrestling fan. He then reiterated how he would love to face a ‘grassroots’ AEW name at the PPV event.

AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door will be taking place from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Sunday, June 26. No matches have been announced for the event yet but fans expect the show to feature some dream encounters.

Ric Flair On Rumors Of Hulk Hogan Being His Opponent For Return Match

0

Ric Flair has yet to announce an opponent for his return match set for the Starrcast V. Rumors are rampant on who it may actually be.

One such wild rumor that had been circulating recently is that Hulk Hogan will be coming out of retirement to face the 16-time world champion.

Flair was asked about these speculations by Conrad Thompson on the latest episode of his podcast. Replying to it, Ric confirmed that Hogan will be present at the show, but he wouldn’t actually be wrestling:

“Not that I know. I think you would have run that by me…He’s invited. I’ve talked to him personally to come to the roast and come watch the match. But yeah, he hasn’t confirmed for sure but I’m pretty sure he’ll be there.”

Ric Flair has announced that he will be returning to the ring for the first time in more than a decade later this year. His in-ring return will take place at the upcoming Starrcast V event over the SummerSlam weekend.

Explaining the reasoning behind his decision, the 2 time Hall of Famer has claimed that he wasn’t happy with his final match. Flair last wrestled back in 2011 where he competed against Sting.

Bron Breakker vs. Duke Hudson

NXT Champion Bron Breakker vs. Duke Hudson was the top match on the card.

It was set up last week when Breakker walked through a backstage interview with Hudson and McKenzie Mitchell. The champ ignored Hudson, who then interrupted a Breakker interview in the parking lot later and challenged him to a match for next week.

The match was pretty one-sided, but Bron lost his cool once Joe Gacy came out and Bron hit Hudson with a chair several times. This played into their In your House stipulation as if Bron gets DQ’d then he will lose the title.

Mandy Rose vs. Indi Hartwell

NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose vs. Indi Hartwell was featured on this show.

It was set up last week on NXT as Hartwell cut a promo discussing her newfound independence as her association with Persia Pirotta and Dexter Lumis. This storyline ended when Pirotta and Lumis ended when both were released last month.

The match was in the middle of the show. Rose went over after kicking Indie, who was distracted due to an outside brawl with Toxic Attraction going on.

Post-match, Wendy Choo attacked Rose from behind and then dumped various basketballs on her. Choo stood over her with the Women’s Title.

Taking the place of Lyons was Fallon Henley, who collided with Tiffany Stratton.

Stratton ended up defeating Henley to move onto the finals of the Breakout Tournament. She will meet Roxanne Perez in the final match of the tourney.

AEW Star To Work AAA Event On The Same Day As Forbidden Door PPV

0

Rey Fenix working an upcoming Lucha Libre AAA show could lead to potential conflicts for him as the show takes place on the same day, June 26th, as AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door.

The AAA show goes down from the Showcenter Complex in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico while the joint PPV event held between AEW and NJPW takes place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

At the AAA show, Fenix is slated to take on Johnny Caballero (aka Johnny Elite) and Abismo Negro Jr. As of this writing, no matches have been announced for Forbidden Door. Many expect to see Fenix be with his brother Penta Oscuro and Death Triangle teammate Pac at the Forbidden Door show.

Fenix could make both shows as the AAA has a start time of 5 p.m. local time, 6 p.m. EST, while Forbidden Door is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. local, 7 p.m. EST. However, adding in the flight time, it would take him three hours to do that.

This wouldn’t be the first time AAA has advertised Fenix for shows that he later didn’t wrestle on as it happened in February and March.

The trio is slated to work Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing where they’re scheduled to take on Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Malakai Black of The House of Black.

Cody Rhodes Optimistic About WWE 2K22 Addition

0

Cody Rhodes returned to the WWE after leaving AEW as Seth Rollins’ surprise opponent at WrestleMania 38. After six long years away from the company, the American Nightmare signed a multi-year deal with WWE.

A month earlier on March 11, WWE 2K22 was released. Fans never expected Rhodes to be part of the game’s roster, and he wasn’t featured in it. None of the downloadable content (DLC) announced for the game so far includes Rhodes.

A recent report, however, suggests that WWE actually wanted Rhodes in the game but it never materialized.

According to Sports Gamers Online, since WWE knew about Rhodes’ return since February, they wanted him in the game but it was “too short of a notice for the developers at 2K.”

A source close to the development team said, “WWE tried, but it was quickly shot down.”

“They knew it was unlikely, but you don’t know for sure unless you ask,” the source added.

Rhodes responded to the story, saying that he can bet the folks at 2K are at it to present something special for fans.

“I don’t know the talented folks at @WWEgames but I’m a pretty decent gambler and I would bet they’re working very hard on something special for pro wrestling fans,” Rhodes wrote.

In a statement released on May 19, 2K announced that they were removing Nash Carter from the Stand Back Pack DLC after he was released from the company back in April. The statement said that they were removing him so that fans get “the most authentic representation of the WWE Universe.”

Cody Rhodes is currently in a program with Seth Rollins and the two men will face each other for the third time at Hell In A Cell on Sunday, June 5. Click here for all news coverage of the event by SEScoops.

Kurt Angle Feeling Great After Double Knee Replacement Surgery

Kurt Angle had two knee replacement surgeries today, as he posted a video on Twitter updating fans.

“Thank you all for your prayers and best wishes for my 2 knee replacement surgeries today. So far so good. I realize rehab is going to be a bitch, but I’m ready for it.

“If I won a gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck, I can handle this! Lol. It’s true!!!! Thank you all!!!!” Angle captioned the post with the usual positive demeanor.

“Hey, this is your Olympic hero Kurt Angle, and I’m in the hospital right now because I just had knee replacements done this morning.

“And I’m feeling pretty good right now, but my legs are not because of the epidural. [laughs] So, I know I have a long road ahead of me, and I’m willing to work very hard to get back to where I was before,” Angle said in the video (as transcribed by SEScoops).

“I wanna thank all of you for all your support and your wishes and prayers for my surgery. I really do appreciate it. God bless you all,” Angle concluded, as he was lying on a hospital bed in the video wearing a nasal cannula.

Wrestlers Anthony Bowens and Mike Magnum wished Angle a speedy recovery.

Fans too showered Angle with support in the replies to the video, wishing him the best for his recovery.

“You’re the greatest — and my hero for a reason. You’re going to make the tribulations after the surgery tap out — just like you have every other time previously. You’re just going to get stronger every single day,” wrote user @KeeganRW.

Angle also hopes to manage a stable of Olympians one day, if he ever returned to the WWE. Get that scoop here.

Mick Foley Collaborating With Conrad Thompson For “Foley Is Pod” Podcast

0

The Hardcore legend Mick Foley is finally getting his own podcast.

The WWE Hall of Famer and former multi-time world champion announced that he will be partnering with Conrad Thompson and releasing his podcast on June 3rd through AdFreeShows.com under the name, “Foley Is Pod.” The first episode will focus on Foley’s classic No Way Out 2000 retirement match against Triple H.

Foley and Thompson recently spoke with The New York Post about their collaboration, which will see Foley putting in extra effort to make his podcast unique. To do that he will be traveling once a week from his home in Nashville to Thompson’s place in Alabama. The duo have already taped about 13 episodes.

Speaking on his chemistry with Thompson Foley says, “It’s been a really natural chemistry and something I enjoy very much, especially for those people who are in-depth fans who choose to get the video in addition to the audio, they will see the smile on my face is very genuine and it’s very obvious that I enjoy doing the podcast.”

He later adds, “I realized I really enjoyed telling my stories on the stage across the country and different countries around the world. I think it just took a little bit of encouragement that there was a market for taking a stroll down memory lane through my career.”

“Foley Is Pod” will take a deep dive on Foley’s full career, including his stints with WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, Japan, and the territory days.

Buff Bagwell “Shocked” At How “Bad” Vince McMahon Has Looked With Age

Buff Bagwell has respect for Vince McMahon but he’s stunned by how the WWE Chairman has aged.

There’s no doubting that Vince has built a global empire. For decades, McMahon has been very hands-on with the WWE product.

Today, WWE is quite lucrative and has been able to snag massive broadcast deals.

Father time eventually gets to us all, however. Vince will be turning 77 years old in August.

Speaking to Steve Fall from NBC Sports Boston’s Ten Count podcast, Buff Bagwell expressed his belief that Vince McMahon is looking rough these days.

Bagwell took notice of Vince’s appearance when he raised Theory’s hand after he defeated Finn Balor to capture the WWE United States Championship.

“God dang, brother. I hate to even say this but it was shocking how bad Vince looked. It shocked me, bro. I am a — there’s nothing on any video out there in the world that’s got me dogging out Vince McMahon.

Never would, never will.

He is a genius that has run the WWF into the WWE. How can you possibly say anything bad about a billionaire that built the WWF? You can’t but he looked rough, man and I hated it.

I don’t want him to get old cause that means I’m getting older.”

WWE Superstar Sticks Up For Naomi Amid Suspension

One former World Heavyweight Champion in WWE is showing his support for Naomi.

Sasha Banks and Naomi are the talk of the wrestling world after walking out of the May 16 episode of Raw.

The two had creative differences over the direction of WWE’s women’s tag team division.

Naomi and Sasha were the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions but they left the gold on the desk of John Laurinaitis and exited the building.

As a result, WWE has suspended both of them indefinitely and has vacated the tag titles.

Dolph Ziggler Takes A Stand

In the midst of the tense situation, Dolph Ziggler posted an image of himself with Naomi and stuck up for her when a notorious troll claimed he was defending unprofessionalism.

“Don’t unsolicitedly, tell people what to do.”

WWE has pulled all online merchandise for Sasha Banks and Naomi. The company took things a step further, saying that both of them disappointed millions of WWE fans during the May 20 episode of SmackDown.

The promotion took even more shots at Naomi and Sasha on the May 23 episode of Raw.

While fans have given Michael Cole and Corey Graves flak for their remarks on Sasha and Naomi, it’s important to note that they’re simply relaying what is being told to them.

Bryan Alvarez recently took to Wrestling Observer Live to report that WWE currently has no creative plans for a Sasha and Naomi return.

WrestleVotes also reported that the situation is expected to get worse.

Booker T Scolds Joey Janela For GCW Flaming Boot Spot

0

Booker T was not a fan of the Joey Janela flaming boot spot at his recent GCW appearance.

Janela went one-on-one with Drew Parker at the GCW Maniac show this past Saturday night (May 21). During the match, Janela wanted to do a flashy high spot, which he decided would be setting his boot on fire and nailing Parker with a super kick.

However, the fire didn’t go out immediately, and took quite a while to put out, nearly starting a panic.

Janela, whose contract expired with AEW back in April, has since taken to social media to joke about the ordeal.

Two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T, however, did not find it amusing. Taking to his podcast, “The Hall Of Fame,” he offered his take on the situation. The former World Heavyweight Champion said Janela’s decision was “the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen in my career.”

“I’m always willing to say in somebody’s face what I’m willing to say on this show. Joey Janela, that was the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen in my career,” Booker said.

“I’m serious because the thing is, he didn’t have a boot where it could actually fend off the flames for a minute. He had a kick pad on and a tennis shoe.

“He put so much damn lighter fluid on his foot, it probably soaked all the way through to his foot.

“That right there just embodies what I talk to my young students about. If that’s the route you want to go, that’s on you, but plan on working that scene forever, because this is not stuff they do in the major leagues.”

Adam Cole Reveals a ‘Big Reason’ In Decision to Leave WWE for AEW

0

Adam Cole has revealed one of the primary reasons he decided to leave WWE and jump to All Elite Wrestling.

Cole signed with AEW back in September of 2021. Prior, he had spent four years with WWE as a vital part of their NXT brand. Cole was a former NXT Champion, NXT Tag Team Champion, and NXT North American Champion during his run.

However, he never did get the call up to the main roster during that time. Once his contract expired, Cole, like many others, made the jump to AEW, where he’s currently experiencing a tremendous amount of success.

He’s on his way to the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament after getting past Jeff Hardy in his last bout. Speaking at the Motor City Comic Con recently, Cole dove more into his decision to leave WWE and sign with AEW.

One of the biggest reasons, Cole revealed, was to be closer to his girlfriend and AEW star Britt Baker.

“One of the biggest things was getting to be around and see Britt a lot more,” Adam Cole said. “At the time, our schedules were so different that there’d be some times that I’d see her for maybe half a day, one day a week.

“Sometimes I wouldn’t see her for weeks at a time. So getting to travel with her and just being behind the curtain when she walks through after she’s done a match or a promo is really nice.”

While Cole was with WWE for the past several years, he obviously knew what was going on in AEW. Especially with Baker playing a vital role in their programming. Cole admitted that the product always looked fun, and he pondered what it would be like to compete in front of those fans.

“It just looked like so much fun,” Cole said. “You know, I had known tons of people on the roster, but to see these crazy, wild crowds every single week, I was like, ‘God, I’d love to wrestle in front of these fans.’”

WWE Fires Another Shot At Sasha Banks & Naomi

WWE has once again taken aim at Sasha Banks and Naomi.

The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions were suspended indefinitely after they walked out of the May 16 episode of Raw mid-show. Some rumors have disputed WWE’s claim that the two actually left during the show.

On the May 20 episode of WWE SmackDown, Michael Cole said that Sasha and Naomi let everyone down during the suspension announcement.

More Shots Fired

Many believe that WWE poured gas on the fire by taking shots at its former Women’s Tag Team Champions. They were already suspended and stripped of the titles and have had their merchandise pulled.

That isn’t enough for WWE as the company took even more shots at them during the May 23 episode of Raw.

Here’s what Corey Graves said during the broadcast.

“Last week it was the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and the then Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha and Naomi would leave during the broadcast of Monday Night Raw.

“Walked out of the arena during the show and Nikki ASH and Doudrop were actually scheduled to be part of the six-pack challenge main event.

“Sasha Banks and Naomi would relinquish their Championships and disappointed the WWE Universe in the process.”

As journalist Scott Fishman points out, fans should remember these shots are not coming from Corey Graves himself.
