New WWE United States Champion LA Knight is ready to build a legacy following his title victory at WWE SummerSlam 2024 in Cleveland. During the post-show press conference, SE Scoops’ own Malcolm asked Knight what this title win means to him at this stage in his wrestling journey.
“It doesn’t matter if it was Logan Paul or anybody else, walking around with it [the U.S. Championship.] I wanted it, now I’ve got it.
“At this point now, for me, I’ve talked about 2023 being the foundation. 2024 now is the time to start building that legacy, building that– we’ll call it the legend of LA Knight. Why don’t we call it that?”
Knight captured the title from Logan Paul in the Maverick’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. This match marked just the third title defense for the former champion who won the gold back at WWE Crown Jewel in November 2023. The win also marks Paul’s first major championship since arriving in WWE.
During the press conference, Knight also addressed those who felt he’d lost his moment after failing to become Undisputed WWE Universal Champion against Roman Reigns last year.
“A lot of people, especially you look into the winter time [When Crown Jewel happened]. I see the talk from people. ‘Oh I think LA Knight has fallen off.’ Am I falling off now?!”

New WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax has shared her gratitude to Triple H following her title victory at WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland. On the post-show press conference, Jax reflected on becoming champion after not being with WWE this time last year
“It’s pretty incredible. A year ago, it was a different position for me. But I am so grateful to Triple H for taking a chance on me. Not just a year ago but ten years ago when he hired me here. So, it’s been an incredible journey and I’m grateful for the opportunity.”
Jax captured the title from Bayley at WWE SummerSlam 2024. The win marks the Queen of the Ring’s first taste of singles gold in WWE since 2018 when she held the RAW Women’s Title. Though Tiffany Stratton teased cashing in her contract, this proved to be a distraction that would play a role in Bayley losing the title she had held since WrestleMania 40. Stratton appeared on the post-show press conference with Jax and was excited for the Queen of the Ring’s championship victory.

Roman Reigns has made his return to WWE programming as part of the Bloodline Rules main event that took place at SummerSlam 2024.
The return of the Original Tribal Chief had been expected by the WWE Universe for weeks in the run-up towards SummerSlam. Reigns hadn’t been seen in WWE since his loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40: Sunday.
Roman Reigns Returns
In the Undisputed WWE Title match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa, The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa) came to the aid of Sikoa. As promised by Arn Anderson, Rhodes had backup of his own in the form of Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.
In the ring, Rhodes leveled Solo Sikoa with a spear and a Superman punch. Donned in an OTC shirt (Original Tribal Chief), Reigns shared a look with Rhodes, but opted not to attack the man who beat him at WrestleMania 40. Rhodes would then hit a Cross Rhodes to get the win and retain his title.

Hall of Famer Arn Anderson made his return to WWE at SummerSlam 2024 in a backstage segment alongside his friend Cody Rhodes. WWE Hall of Famers the Steiner Brothers are celebrating following Bron Breakker’s coronation as Intercontinental Champion at SummerSlam 2024. At the Biggest Party of the Summer, Breakker captured the gold from Sami Zayn, marking Bron’s first title since arriving on the main roster. In the Cleveland Browns Stadium, Rick and Scott Steiner were very pleased to see their kin win the gold and were joined by ‘Diamond’ Dallas Page.
Breakker’s victory marks the first singles title win on the main roster for any member of his family. While Scott and Rick held tag gold in WWE and singles titles outside the promotion, neither man held a singles championship during their time as WWE Superstars.

Jax won the opportunity to challenge for the title after winning the Queen of the Ring tournament in Saudi Arabia earlier this year.

Chief Content Officer Triple H kicked off the festivities of SummerSlam by introducing Jelly Roll to Cleveland Browns Stadium and after Bron Breakker became the Intercontinental Champion after defeating Sami Zayn, Stephanie McMahon was shown sitting at ringside aiming to amp up the fans in attendance.
Stephanie hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since the Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia. She happened to be one of the several names Paul Heyman thanked in his induction speech and Stephanie happened to hearken back to her days as the “owner” of ECW during the Invasion with a backwards leather snap brim.
Stephanie showing up at SummerSlam has some serendipituos timing to it as it’s only a few days removed when a photograph of her brother Shane McMahon surfaced sharing a meeting with AEW President Tony Khan.
While Vince McMahon may be completely gone from the landscape of WWE, his kin could still have a strong influence on the business, particularly if Shane does happen to come together with Tony on a deal to work with AEW in some capacity.
WWE is feeling a swing of momentum when it comes to creativity in coordination with Vince McMahon’s exit. CM Punk recently stated how Vince’s leave from the company “illuminated” his way for a return to WWE.
A brand new John Cena film was advertised during WWE SummerSlam 2024, which is taking place tonight from Cleveland.
John Cena and Awkwafina star in the new movie called “Jackpot!” Jackpot! is scheduled to be released by Amazon MGM Studios via Prime Video on August 15, 2024.
The film synopsis is as follows: “In the near future, a ‘Grand Lottery’ has been newly established in California – the catch: kill the winner before sundown to legally claim their multi-billion dollar jackpot.”

Dominik Mysterio has betrayed Rhea Ripley and aligned himself with Liv Morgan at WWE SummerSlam 2024 tonight.
Mysterio would distract the referee in the ring to allow Liv Morgan to hit her obLIVion finisher on a chair to retain her title over Ripley in their match.
After the bell, it was made clear that Dominik did so deliberately, as he helped Morgan up and then kissed her in front of his now-former Mami.
Judgment Day were shown backstage as Damian Priest was on a warpath trying to find ‘Dirty’ Dom, but it looks like the group may well be on the outs.

WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan retained her title against Rhea Ripley during SummerSlam tonight from Cleveland.
Morgan had been in pursuit of Dominik Mysterio for the past few months, claiming that she was trying to take “everything” away from ‘Mami.’ Whilst many expected Liv to drop the belt tonight, she managed to get the win.

Ahead of tonight’s WWE SummerSlam PLE, SEScoops correspondent Ella Jay spoke with Gunther, who will challenge Damian Priest for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. During the interview, ‘The Ring General’ discussed his past jobs, rivalries, possible matches in the future, and more.
Gunther did very odd jobs in the past. One of them was a meatpacking job. It’s quite ironic now because ‘big meaty men slap’ and meet on Monday Night Raw every single week. When asked who is the ‘meatiest man” in the locker room, other than himself, Gunther replied:
“I don’t know, Sheamus, I guess.”
‘The Ring General’ also revealed what jobs he did before he decided to lace up his boots. He said:
“Call Center, obviously. Unloading containers with Sunflower seeds… store them..jobs like that. They’re a bunch of more. Yeah, it’s hard work. It’s good to do that and have appreciation for it because a lot of people do it every day and it’s unseen.”
Winning King of The Ring against Randy Orton
‘The Ring General’ earned a World Heavyweight Title shot after winning this year’s King Of The Ring Tournament by defeating Randy Orton. It was a dream match for a lot of people and WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H said they might once again share the ring in the future. When asked if he has an interest in facing Randy Orton in the future, Gunther said: “Yeah, for sure.”
He added:
“That’s how I enjoy professional wrestling most, if that makes sense. Randy is obviously one of the best to ever do it. And I think the setting was very nice too. Saudis are always very welcoming to us and the crowd over there really good. Yeah, felt like a great moment and that will forever remember.”
Possibly rekindling feud with Ilja Dragunov
Fans have been expecting Gunther and Ilja Dragunov to reignite their iconic rivalry and he was asked how far his relationship knowing Ilja goes back. He said:
“To 2011, 2012 something around that time, I think he started and he got booked by WXW a lot when I was always there. So since then, we know each other basically.”
Sami Zayn also had a match with Gunther back in WXW. Gunther recalled those matches with Zayn when he worked under El Generico moniker:
“Oh, yeah, I remember that. I have wrestled him more often before. But that’s the wrestling business itself. Sometimes. I mean, sometimes you see someone very intensively for a while and then that is disappear for years and then it all comes back around so”
Gunther praises Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental run
Gunther’s record-breaking WWE Intercontinental title reign of 666 days came to an end when Sami Zayn dethroned him at WrestleMania XL. ‘The Ring General’ praised Sami Zayn’s run as the Intercontinental Champion as he said:
“Oh, quite objectively has stepped up obviously. Big time. I think he’s done a very good job and I think yeah, he has a lot going on anyway with the whole Judgment Day thing as well. And yeah, I think he’s done really good but yeah, till tomorrow.”
Favorite rivalry
Gunther has faced a plethora of talents since joining WWE and has been involved in memorable rivalries. When asked what has been his favorite rivalry, he named The Miz.
“I think the one that would with The Miz. That was a very, very important one for me. And yeah, I really enjoyed that. And it was so important program I had in my career.”
WWE SummerSlam: Cleveland is stacked with some exciting matches. While Gunther is focussed on his own title match, he said that he is looking forward to the match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre with Seth Rollins as the Special Guest Referee. He said:
“I gotta be honest, I haven’t thought about any other match yet. I know which ones are there but maybe Drew and Punk.”
As many had already anticipated, Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa will be the main event of the evening, with the WWE Championship on the line.

X user @ChadBlue83 posted a video of the fan asking Drew to sign his CM Punk merchandise by writing “f*ck CM Punk” on it, but McIntyre went just a little bit further.
Not only would McIntyre write what was requested, but he would add the “c*nt” afterwards, about as un-PG a wording as you can get.
One of the most intriguing aspects of the CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre rivalry has been both talent’s ability to blur the lines between scripted storyline and genuine animosity.
Whilst the animosity between the two men is very much on a professional level, they have done a superb job of trying to convince fans that there really is a deeper issue here.
