Bobby Lashley Taking Career Advice from a Maniacal Bird

0

Bobby Lashley is having one of the best years of his WWE career. He’s fought Brock Lesnar twice, with each man claiming a victory over the other. He had an impressive run with the United States Championship and elevated that prize through a series of dominant title defenses.

Unfortunately, Lashley’s US title reign recently came to an end at the hands of Seth Rollins. Since then, Lashley has been hell-bent on reclaiming what he feels is rightfully his. The Almighty is usually known for his calm demeanor, but he wants WWE Superstars to know he won’t hesitate to inflict pain on anybody who stands in his way.

Lashley spoke with Cathy Kelley backstage after Monday’s Raw and said you can’t be ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ and expect to get ahead. If you do, people will take you for granted and walk all over you. Those days are over. He’s got a new mindset – thanks to a “little birdie” that showed him the light.

“What I’ve come to understand here is that you have to take what you want around here because if not, you get walked over” said Lashley. “I played ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ for way too long. I started to get to this point a little birdie came and told me in my ear, ‘If you just are hurting people and taking people out, who’s gonna stop you?’ I kind of thought about and it’s true.”

“The biggest, baddest person around, Brock Lesnar, I threw him around like a little kid. So now after that, I come in with a little different change of heart and a different mind-frame with everything else. [I’m] still a nice guy, but I’ll hurt anybody that steps in the ring with me from now on.”

Lashley vows to get the United States Championship back from Rollins, one way or another. Ever since Roman Reigns unified the WWE Championship and the Undisputed Championship earlier this year, the US title is the top prize on the Raw Brand. Lashey knows the prestige that comes with holding the gold and is putting Rollins on notice once again.

WarGames Rules Explained for WWE Survivor Series

0

WarGames returns at WWE’s upcoming Survivor Series premium live event. It will be the first time the infamous double steel cage match takes place at WWE’s fall classic.

There have been over a dozen WarGames matches since the match was first introduced back in 1987. The number of participants on each team, the intervals that wrestlers enter the match and other rules have varied. Below, we’ll lay out exactly what to expect from WarGames later this month.

There will be two WarGames matches at Survivor Series (Men’s and Women’s) on Saturday, November 26th. WWE has yet to announce the participants for the men’s match, although you can be sure The Bloodline will be involved.

The women’s WarGames match is nearly set. It will be Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim and one more TBD partner facing Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky), Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley.

Women's WarGames Match

WarGames Rules Explained

Here are the official rules for the WarGames matches that will be taking place at WWE Survivor Series 2022:

  • Two teams will be contained in separate cages with one member of each team starting the match.
  • After five minutes, a member from the advantaged team will be released to enter the match.
  • After a three-minute period, alternating members from each team will enter the match until all competitors are inside the cage.
  • Once all the competitors have entered, WarGames officially begins.
  • The only way to win the match is by pinfall or submission.

The Creation of WarGames

WarGames was created by the late “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes.

Here’s a video of Rhodes talking about the creation of The Match Beyond:

The Undertaker Recruited Viscera into the Ministry of Darkness to Avoid Wrestling Him

0

Viscera was a long-term member of the Ministry of Darkness, but he wasn’t recruited into the group due to his in-ring ability.

The group was founded in October 1998 and was led by The Undertaker until its end in September 1999, when the Phenom went on a hiatus from WWE programming.

Members of the group included Paul Bearer, the Acolytes, the Brood, and Mideon, and the group would later unify with the Corporation to form the Corporate Ministry.

Recruiting Viscera

Once known as Mabel, Viscera was abducted by the Ministry during the 1999 Royal Rumble, and later reintroduced under his darker persona.

Speaking in an interview with Monte & The Pharoah, Ministry alum Mideon admitted that Viscera was recruited because The Undertaker didn’t want to face him.

“He was a giant human being, but he was a little reckless sometimes. When ‘Taker was doing The Ministry, ‘Taker was like, ‘We’re gonna bring Viscera in.’ I’m like, ‘Why?’ He goes, ‘Then we don’t have to work with him.’ I was like, ‘F*cking genius!’”

Mideon.

After being released the following year, Viscera would return to WWE in 2004 as the ‘World’s Largest Love Machine.’

In 2007, his character would change again to ‘Big Daddy V’ before his final release from WWE in 2008.

Avoiding the Match

The Undertaker had no interest in facing Viscera, but we can hardly blame the Phenom for avoiding the match.

In 1995, Mabel attacked The Undertaker, hitting the future WWE Hall of Famer with a series of leg drops.

Instead of hitting the Undertaker’s chest, Mabel struck the Phenom in the face, resulting in a broken orbital bone.

This botch earned Mabel significant heat backstage and would go on to lose to The Undertaker in a Casket Match at In Your House 5: Seasons Beatings.

Fans Chant for Swerve in Our Glory During Mia Yim’s First Match Back with WWE

0

Mia Yim made her return to in-ring competition on this week’s WWE Raw, but some fans were far more interested in her husband.

Yim returned to WWE last week by attacking Rhea Ripley and has aligned herself with the O.C. in their war with The Judgment Day.

Formerly Reckoning of Retribution, Yim was released from WWE in November 2021 as part of mass releases due to ‘budget cuts.’

Yim on Raw

After returning to Monday Night Raw last week, Yim faced Tamina Snuka in her first match back this week.

During the match, some fans in attendance in Louisville, Kentucky chanted for Swerve in Our Glory, referencing Keith Lee’s AEW tag team with Swerve Strickland.

Lee, a former NXT and NXT North American Champion was also released in November 2021 over budget cuts.

Later in the show, Yim would be announced for Team Belair at Survivor Series WarGames.

The chants for Swerve in Our Glory can be heard at 1:28 and 1:54 in the video below.

Yim Outside of WWE

Mia Yim is back with WWE, but did plenty during her time away from the promotion.

In February 2022, Yim married Lee in a ceremony officiated by WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley.

Yim returned to Impact Wrestling in May 2022 at the Under Siege event, having previously worked for the company as ‘Jade.’

Yim would challenge for the Impact Knockouts World Championship on multiple occasions but would always come up short.

Yim’s final match saw her face Taylor Wilde in a losing effort, mere weeks before her WWE return.

AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor Set for WWE Survivor Series, Updated Card

0

Finn Balor spent weeks trying to recruit AJ Styles to the Judgment Day but the Phenomenal One declined.

Balor decided to attack AJ Styles and the Good Brothers (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) returned to the company to make the save. Mia Yim has since returned to the company and joined The OC in their battle against Judgment Day.

On last week’s edition of RAW, Finn Balor attempted to accept Seth Rollins’ Open Challenge but The OC interrupted.

On this week’s episode of RAW, Finn faced Seth Rollins in the main event. The match was originally supposed to be a non-title bout but Byron Saxton announced it was for the United States Championship a couple of hours before the red brand went on the air.

The Judgment Day was ringside for the match and once again The OC got involved. The two factions brawled through the crowd as Rollins and Balor trade strikes in the ring. In the end, Seth hit the Stomp for the pinfall victory. Austin Theory attacked Seth after the bell and beat him down to close the show.

AJ cut a backstage promo earlier on RAW and challenged Balor to the match. The Phenomenal One added that their rivalry will come to an end at the PLE. WWE made the match official during the main event on social media.

Announced Card for WWE Survivor Series WarGames so far:

  • Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles
  • Women’s WarGames Match: Damage CTRL, Nikki Cross, Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Mia Yim, and an unknown superstar
  • SmackDown Women’s Championship: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Shotzi

Xavier Woods and Da Party Finally Announced Reunion Date

0

Several weeks ago, members of “Da Party” (Xavier Woods, Adam Cole, Claudio Castagnoli, and Tyler Breeze) posted a video at the same time asking “R U Ready?”

On Monday, another video was posted by each member. Breeze said he was calling because it’s been a long time and “we haven’t played anything.” The rest of the group offered suggestions such as Halo, Elden Ring, and League of Legends. Breeze stopped them and told them, “we know what we’re playing.” The camera cuts to each one and they all look overjoyed with Breeze’s suggestion.

How to Join Da Party

Xavier Woods Da Party

“Da Party” will finally reunite on Sunday, November 20 at 10 PM (no timezone given, but East Coast is assumed) on Twitch. The Twitch handles for @TheSweetZLive, @ClaudiosCafe, and @TheChugs.

The video ended with “You know what to do…..”

A “Da Party” reunion was teased a year ago with many assuming it would take place on Wood’s G4 show. Sadly, G4 has shut down. Luckily for “Da Party” fans, Twitch will be the host. This will be their first time playing together since “Chuggs” (Cole) left WWE for AEW last year.

Former WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion Worked Main Event Before Monday’s Raw

0

The trend of WWE bringing in NXT stars to work episodes of Main Event at weekly Raw events has continued.

Monday’s Raw (November 14) marked the main roster TV debut for former NXT Cruiserweight Champion JD McDonagh as he wrestled Cedric Alexander in a singles match at the taping. Also,

McDonagh has been used prominently on NXT TV since he officially moved to the brand from NXT UK in July and given a new name after being known as Jordan Devlin. Once moving to NXT, he has been in the NXT Championship picture with champion Bron Breakker most of the time.

McDonagh in Action

Jordan Devlin
(via WWE)

McDonagh did work two non-televised main roster UK tour house shows in 2017 and various inter-brand events like Worlds Collide, but this would mark his televised main roster debut.

The other NXT talent in action on Main Event this week is Kiana James, who wrestled Asuka. James is someone that WWE management seemingly is interested in calling up to the main roster in the near future as this is now her third appearance on Main Event in four weeks.

Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen, Carmelo Hayes, Cameron Grimes, Von Wagner, Duke Hudson, Xyon Quinn, and Wendy Choo are just some of the NXT names that have been put in this spot for WWE officials to get a look at these stars on a bigger stage.

JD will wrestle Apollo Crews on Tuesday’s episode of NXT. Main Event is taped right before Raw every Monday and airs on Thursdays on Hulu.

Chris Jericho on Heat with Triple H in WWE: “There Were a lot of Issues Between the Two of Us”

0

Chris Jericho spent the majority of his career in WWE but has found a new home in All Elite Wrestling.

Jericho is currently the Ring of Honor Champion and will be defending the title in a 4-Way against Bryan Danielson, Sammy Guevara, and Claudio Castagnoli at AEW Full Gear on November 19th.

The 52-year-old recently signed a contract extension with All Elite Wrestling, which reportedly surprised some in WWE that were expecting him to return and go into the company’s Hall of Fame.

Chris Jericho on His Issues with Triple H

Jericho discussed his issues with Triple H in the past and claimed that The Game almost got him fired because he had heat with Chyna back in the day.

Speaking on his Jericho Chronicles Q&A session on his podcast, The Wizard said he called Triple H for directions once and The Game shouted at him to “buy a map!” as his pals laughed in the background. Jericho added that he had heat with Chyna and that furthered his issues with Triple H.

There were a lot of issues between the two of us. There’s a problem that I had with Chyna that was kind of predicated by him.

Chris claimed that most of the heat stemmed from WWE guys not wanting WCW guys in the locker room.

There was a lot of animosity for real, because I had the audacity to come to WWE. People didn’t like it. They didn’t want WCW guys coming to WWE, because they felt we were inferior. So you could do ten things right, but if you did one thing wrong, you were under a microscope and you were in trouble. And those guys had pull, so they’d bury you to Vince.

Le Champion added that he almost got fired a month in to his WWE career after a meeting with Jim Ross, Blackjack Lanza, and Vince McMahon.

I almost got fired about a month in, I got called into a meeting with Vince, JR, and Blackjack Lanza and Vince said ‘The problem with you is the drizzling sh*ts. You’re not worth the paper your contract is printed on. You’re green as grass.’ I was like ‘Lighten up dude.’ There was a lot of heat, shall we say.

Seth Rollins to Defend US Title, Multiple Matches Changed Ahead of Tonight’s WWE Raw

0

Seth Rollins attempted to have an Open Challenge for the United States Championship last week and Finn Balor accepted.

However, The OC interrupted and Mia Yim made her return to the company to battle with Rhea Ripley. Rollins retreated out of the ring but issued the Open Challenge once again and it was accepted by Mustafa Ali backstage.

Bobby Lashley then attacked Seth Rollins and accepted the Open Challenge. Rollins won the US Title from Lashley after The Beast Brock Lesnar attacked The All Mighty. Lashley got his revenge on Rollins last week and attacked him instead of having a match.

Austin Theory took the opportunity to cash-in his MITB contract on Seth but it backfired. Bobby got Theory in the Hurt Lock and Rollins capitalized with a Stomp for a pinfall victory.

US Title Match Added to WWE Raw

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor were originally supposed to square off in a non-title match against each other tonight on the red brand. RAW correspondent Byron Saxton took to Twitter and announced that the bout tonight was now for the United States Championship.

Hello everyone, we are just a couple of hours away from Monday Night RAW.

We have some breaking news, tonight in Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center, Seth “Freakin” Rollins is now going to defend his United States Championship against the Judgment Day’s Finn Balor.

It is going to be a jam-packed evening tonight on Monday Night Raw.

Matt Riddle’s Match Changed Before Tonight’s Show

Matt Riddle was scheduled to team up with Elias tonight but that match has been changed. The duo were supposed to face American Alpha tonight on the red brand but Riddle will battle Chad Gable in a singles match instead.

WWE posted a preview for the tag team match earlier in the week that read:

Ever since returning, Elias has had a tough time, most recently suffering a loss to Otis. He has, however, found a fan in Matt Riddle, who keeps insisting they form a band. With Elias’ musical talents and The Original Bro’s superb bongo ripping, the two would light up an audience.

Now, they get to do just that as they team together for the first time to take on Otis and Chad Gable of Alpha Academy, who will look to make Nov. 14 the day the music died.”

The preview has since been replaced for the singles match between Riddle and Gable tonight.

Logan Paul on His Match Against Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel: “I’ll be Doing This for a Long Time”

0

Logan Paul wrestled just the third match of his career in the main event of WWE Crown Jewel last weekend.

  • 9 Best Moments from WWE Crown Jewel 2022

The 27-year-old battled Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to close the premium live event in Saudi Arabia. The Usos interfered in the match, which resulted in Logan’s brother, popular YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul, to rush the ring.

Jake sent Jimmy and Jey to the outside as Solo Sikoa made his way down the entrance ramp. Logan hit Solo with a dive over the top rope but got caught with a Superman Punch when he got back into the ring. The Tribal Chief finished the challenger off with a Spear to retain the title. After the match, Logan took to social media to announce that he suffered a major injury at Crown Jewel.

Logan Paul Reacts to his Match at WWE Crown Jewel

WWE released behind-the-scenes footage of Logan Paul’s journey to Crown Jewel. Before the match, he claimed that he had no nerves and that performing is what he does best. He noted that he discovered wrestling at 27, but feels comfortable in the ring and claimed that he will be doing it for a long time.

“No nerves, to be honest,” said Logan Paul. “Like when you prepare as much as I do for events of this magnitude, there’s nothing left to do but to go show up and perform. And honestly, like, this is what I do best. This is what I do best in the world. I discovered it at 27, but I feel so comfortable in the ring. I’ll be doing this for a long time.”

Drew McIntyre Praised for Being a Workhorse in WWE

0

Drew McIntyre has been pushed as a top star in WWE for the last few years because of his passion for the business and putting in the work. Throughout his career with the company, he has won various titles.

McIntyre’s hectic schedule has also earned him props from his co-workers as well.  The former WWE Champion beat Karrion Kross in a singles match at the Crown Jewel event and did so after a busy schedule and working with an illness.

Mcintyre had to overcome outside interference by Scarlett in the bout to be victorious.

Drew McIntyre’s Praise

Drew McIntyre

According to PW Insider, there are a few people in WWE praising McIntyre for his commitment to the company as he went from The United States to Germany and Switzerland for house shows, then went to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel before traveling to India to film what was described as a “movie role” the company set up with Sony, then flew right back to the United States to work the SmackDown show and this past weekend’s live events.

McIntyre has aligned with The Brawling Brutes and will likely face The Bloodline at the WWE Survivor Series on November 26th.

WWE Has Offered Steve Austin Another Match

0

WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin continues to fuel speculation about his in-ring future with some butt-kicking workout videos.

Austin made his return to active competition earlier this year at WrestleMania 38. In a bouht that nobody thought would happen, Austin defeated Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match. It was his first time in the ring since WrestleMania 19, almost 20 years earlier.

With WrestleMania season right around the corner, the Texas Rattlesnake has posted a new video of himself opening up a can of ‘whoop ass’ in the gym. More specifically, in his RV.

On Monday, Austin showed off what it takes to look like Stone Cold at 57 years of age. This workout includes air squats, dumbbell curls, push-ups and kettlebell swings.

Steve Austin Wrestling Again?

WWE insider Wrestlevotes stated in an interview that Austin was so pleased with his performance at WrestleMania earlier this year, he wouldn’t rule out the possibility of another special attraction match. On Monday, Fightful reported that WWE has reached out to Steve Austin about wrestling again since Triple H took over for Vince McMahon over the summer.

WWE always goes all-out for WrestleMania, but the company is looking to pull out all the stops when the biggest wrestling show of the year heads to Los Angeles, California. There have been reports that WWE is looking for extra celebrity involvement at the event, which makes sense considering the link to Hollywood. We’ve also heard The Rock and John Cena discussed for high-profile appearances.

Wrestling fans have been conditioned to believe, ‘never say never.’ Austin wrestling again is still a long shot. Then again, nobody (including Kevin Owens) thought he’d get back in the ring after nearly 20 years away. Stranger things have happened, so we’re staying cautiously optimistic.

Vince McMahon Had Plans to Bury Gunther, Send Him Back to WWE NXT

0

Things could’ve gone much differently for Gunther in the second half of 2022 if Vince McMahon was still running WWE’s main roster creative instead of Triple H.

WrestleVotes has provided more details on its original report from earlier this year, where it was reported that McMahon soured on Gunther and there were plans to bury him on TV following his segment with R-Truth on the July 4th edition of Monday Night Raw.

The Intercontinental Champion interrupted an Independence Day skit hosted by the veteran wrestler before beating him in a match. It wasn’t clear at the time what the issue was with McMahon and Gunther.

Vince McMahon on Gunther

Gunther on SmackDown

While speaking with GiveMeSport, WrestleVotes noted that Gunther was going to be buried and send to NXT if McMahon was still in charge, but McMahon resigned two weeks later from this episode before he went forward with his plans.

“I know that Vince McMahon just didn’t like what he saw on Raw and was over him, like legitimately wanted to bury him, go back to NXT, that type of stuff.”

According to the report, Triple H thinks Gunther can be the star of big WWE events. The Intercontinental Champion’s bout with Sheamus at Clash at the Castle is credited with dramatically improving that perception.

Kevin Owens Suffers Knee Injury at WWE House Show

0

Kevin Owens will be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future as the WWE star suffered a right knee injury at Sunday’s WWE house show in Madison, Wisconsin, during a match with Austin Theory.

Fans in attendance had noted coming out of the event that it appeared Owens was injured when it looked like he blew out his knee after planting it during the bout. They went right to the finish, where Owens scored the victory with a stunner, although Owens needed help from the referee to get to the back.

Owens was said to have a concerned look on his face as he was limping to the backstage area, and for good reason.

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed the injury is an MCL sprain and “the way it was worded was that hopefully that is all the injury is with the idea it could be more than that.

The former WWE Universal Champion has been off Monday Night Raw for the past few weeks because he wasn’t going to the Saudi Arabia Crown Jewel event on November 5th but has been wrestling on the house shows.

We hope to have more information shortly. From all of us at SEScoops, we wish Owens a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in the ring.

AEW Star Sustains Injury Over The Weekend

0

All Elite Wrestling star Abadon has unfortunately sustained an injury this past weekend.

On Saturday, November 12, “The Living Dead Girl” wrestled Joey Ace at Warriors of Wrestling in Staten Island, New York. There, the two battled amidst the promotion’s “Intergender Warfare” event.

According to PWInsider, Abadon performed a routine hurricanrana against Ace, before she “landed wrong” and appeared to suffer an injury. Subsequently, the match was quickly halted, and Abadon was then driven to a hospital. It was later believed that the AEW star sustained a broken collarbone, but that was not officially confirmed. In addition, no official details were gathered on how long Abadon may be absent from in-ring action.

We wish Abadon a speedy recovery.

During the same weekend, Abadon was spotted with WWE Superstar and former SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan. The duo posed together amidst their appearances at the Big Event NY, one of pro-wrestling’s biggest conventions

In AEW, Abadon last competed on the November 4 AEW: Dark tapings against Leva Bates.

In October 2020, Abadon suffered an injury during a scheduled AEW: Dynamite match against Tay Conti. Conti reportedly delivered an elbow strike to Abadon’s throat, rendering her opponent unable to breathe. Subsequently, the match was stopped, and Abadon was sent to the hospital for evaluation.

Abadon eventually returned a month later on the November 25 edition of Dynamite. There, she targeted then AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida, eyeing her title. The two later clashed in January 2021, as Shida retained her title against Abadon at New Year’s Smash.

The Usos are the Longest Reigning WWE Tag Team Champion in History

0

Jimmy and Jey Uso have made WWE history once again.

November 14, 2022 marks the 484th day of The Usos’ reign with the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships. This number remains significant, as the Usos now eclipse the New Day’s previous record of 483 days with the Raw Tag Team Championships, which lasted from August 23, 2015 to December 18, 2016.

Now, the Usos are the longest reigning Tag Team Champions in WWE history. In honor of their incredible feat, the Usos shared their excitement on Twitter:

Battle Of The Throne

Usos New Day WWE
The Usos vs New Day on November 11th Smackdown

On the November 11 edition of SmackDown, the Usos battled their long-time rivals, the New Day. With the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships on the line, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods looked to preserve their previous set record. The match would surpass 20 minutes, with a plethora of back-and-forth action before Jimmy and Jey gained the upper hand. In the end, Kingston landed into a 1D by the Usos, allowing Jey to get the pinfall victory for his team, and ensure their place in the company’s history books.

The duo first captured the Smackdown Tag Team Championships last year at Money in the Bank in July after defeating Rey and Dominik Mysterio. In May 2022, the team collected the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships by defeating RK-Bro (Matt Riddle and Randy Orton) on SmackDown, subsequently securing themselves as the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

Over the last 17 months, The Usos have successfully retained their titles over a dozen times during the respective reign, most recently against New Day, and the Brawling Brutes at WWE Crown Jewel.

WWE Fans Ejected After Throwing Drink At Scarlett During Live Event

0

WWE held their usual Saturday Night’s Main Event house show this past weekend in Peoria, Illinois. However, the show would later take an unfortunate turn.

“The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre rekindled his rivalry with Karrion Kross in a bout between the two. Accordingly, Kross’ real-life wife and on-screen manager, Scarlett, accompanied him to ringside. During their match, a routine spot occurred, where Scarlett fueled up their heel roles, slapping McIntyre as the referee was distracted.

As a heel, Scarlett certainly drew disfavor from the crowd, but on this night, that heat was turned up to the extreme, as multiple fans were soon ejected and the police arrived.

Following her slap to McIntyre, Scarlett pivoted to gauge the crowd’s reaction, but was met by an alcoholic beverage, to the face. A woman from the third row reportedly launched the drink at “The Smoke Show.”

Security then quickly attended to Scarlett, checking on her safety. Eventually, the WWE fan and her family in attendance would all be ejected, before a member of the crew cleaned up the mess at ringside.

After getting cleaned off, Scarlett posted a tweet about the incident, with a clear message for the woman who threw the drink at her.

As a classy woman from Chicago, I’m not surprised that something like this would happen in Peoria.

PS. To the granny who threw the drink, your booze was as cheap as your hairdo.

McIntyre vs Kross

Drew McIntyre

Prior to Saturday’s match, Drew McIntyre and Kross last met inside a steel cage at WWE Crown Jewel. There, he defeated Kross, but later revealed to be battling a severe case of the flu, per PWInsider. Although he was highly sick, McIntyre was “adamant” about the match going on. McIntyre soon pivoted his attention to a new venture though.

McIntyre soon returned on the November 11th edition of SmackDown, evening the odds for Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and Butch, as they fended off the Bloodline to close out the show ahead of the company’s impending Survivor Series: WarGames pay-per-view.

5 Huge Wrestling Stars Still Not in the WWE Hall of Fame

0

With a truly-historic 2022 coming to an end, the wrestling world is looking ahead to 2023, and what will happen over the next 12 months.

With January approaching, WrestleMania season is drawing near, and with WrestleMania comes the Hall of Fame.

Many of wrestling’s biggest stars have already received the nod, but not everyone and these are some of the huge names yet to go in.

5: The Great Muta

image 12
The Great Muta will retire from wrestling in 2023, but will he soon become a WWE Hall of Famer?

Right now, the Great Muta is on his retirement tour, after a truly iconic career in wrestling.

Considered by many to be one of, if not the greatest Japanese wrestler of all time, Muta has held gold with AJPW, NJPW, WCW, and Pro Wrestling NOAH, among others.

Away from titles, Muta has been an inspiration for so many wrestlers, yet a WWE Hall of Fame induction continues to allude the legend.

On January 1, Muta will compete against WWE’s Shinsuke Nakamura, in a rare example of WWE allowing one of their stars to compete elsewhere.

Could a Hall of Fame induction have been part of the deal for Nakamura? Perhaps, but whether that happens or not, Muta is worthy of the induction.

4: Owen Hart

image 11
The Blackheart, Owen Hart will likely never be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame due to his tragic death in 1999.

It’s nothing short of a crime that for many wrestling fans (and non-fans alike) Owen Hart will be best known for his final moments.

Hart’s tragic passing at the Over the Edge 1999 event has forever cast a shadow on a career certainly worthy of the Hall of Fame.

In this instance, it is Owen’s widow, Martha Hart, who has rejected calls from WWE (and fans) to induct her husband, holding the company responsible for his death.

While Martha has been more open to wrestling this year, even appearing for AEW at their Double or Nothing Pay-Per-View, a relationship with WWE remains non-existent, so don’t expect to see the Rocket receive the nod next year.

3: Batista

image 10
The Animal was announced for the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020, but later pulled out because of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

When Batista broke into the wrestling business, it came at a time of his life when many would be considering winding up their careers.

Undeterred, the Animal not only became a wrestler but a six-time WWE World Champion, along with a handful of Tag title reigns.

Unlike many on this list, we know that Batista will be inducted, as he was announced in 2020, but pulled out due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It’s understandable, the Animal was worthy of headlining the ceremony, and the 2020/2021 dual induction would not have been right.

With The Undertaker headlining this year’s Hall of Fame, expect Batista to receive the long-awaited honors next year.

2: The Rock

image 9
The Brahma Bull electrified fans for years, but why is he not in WWE’s Hall of Fame.

The Bramha Bull. The People’s Champion. The Great One. The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment.

Whatever you call him, Dwayne Johnson should be called a WWE Hall of Famer.

Frankly, it’s baffling he’s not already been given the nod, and we can only imagine one reason for why either he’s said no, or WWE has refused to put him in.

Either Rock, WWE, or both, believe he’s not done in the ring.

It’s hardly a secret that WWE wants the Great One back, with many predicting the long-awaited match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39.

Will that match happen? At this time it’s difficult to say, but one thing we know for sure is that Dwayne Johnson is Hall of Fame bound.

1: Vince McMahon

image 8
McMahon changed the wrestling world, but his exit from WWE earlier this year could cause problems for an induction.

When fans think of the biggest star in wrestling, they may conjure names like Hulk Hogan, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, John Cena or even Roman Reigns.

Well none of these names would have reached the heights they soared to without Vince McMahon.

Of course, a McMahon induction is problematic, thanks in part to his controversial exit from WWE in July over allegations of misconduct.

As wrestling fans have made clear, they don’t forget. Just ask Hulk Hogan and the chilly reception he received at WrestleMania 37 in his home state of Florida.

There is perhaps no bigger name in wrestling who is more deserving than any induction than Vince McMahon, but whether it will ever happen is another matter entirely.

Big Wrestling Stars Stiffed on Pay at Indie Event

0

So huge names from the world of professional wrestling left empty-handed after competing at a show for New Evolution Pro.

The event, which took place on November 13, saw prominent names including Ultimo Dragon, Josh Alexander, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Naomichi Marufuji, and Alberto Del Rio appear.

Fightful Select reports that these stars were told that there was no money for the show and that they would not be getting paid.

Medical Emergency

The rightly-irate wrestlers were informed that the promoter of the show had to leave early, due to what was called a ‘medical emergency.’

Instead of payment for appearing, the talent was told to split the profits from meet-and-greets between them.

Fightful reports that Josh Alexander had to “chase down” the promoter who had money on him.

When counted, it came to $14,000 less than what was owed to the roster.

Pro Wrestling NOAH

In the report, it’s added that talent from Pro Wrestling NOAH was not paid and that the promotion will have to chase down the money.

Despite this, Nakajimi, Marufuji and Dragon all worked hard despite missing their payday.

The main event of the show saw a six-man-tag, pitting Alexander, Ricardo Rodriguez and Alberto Del Rio against Ultimo Dragon, Nakajima and Marufuji.

Post-Match

After the match, Del Rio cut a promo saying nobody was getting paid, which while not exactly true, did highlight how nobody was getting near what they were owed.

Fightful adds that some of the talent signed free autographs to help out the crowd.

The promoter reportedly insisted fans pay him via Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App, and there was no point of purchase for actual tickets.

“Loyal” – Jay Lethal has Zero Plans to Ever Leave All Elite Wrestling

0

All Elite Wrestling’s Jay Lethal is going to be sticking with the company for the long haul according to recent comments by Lethal himself.

Lethal debuted for AEW one year ago at the Full Gear 2021 Pay-Per-View and has aligned himself with Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh.

Before arriving in AEW, Lethal competed for Ring of Honor and holds the record for the most combined days as Ring of Honor World Champion.

Staying in AEW

Lethal is a well-traveled wrestler, having competed in AEW, ROH, and Impact Wrestling, among other smaller promotions.

Now that he’s with AEW though, Lethal is ready to settle down, as he told Kurt Angle on the Olympian’s podcast.

“I’ll be at AEW until the company closes, they let me go, or they fire me, because, to me, in wrestling, if I’m going to put my body, my life, and my career on the line for you, I’ve got to appreciate and love you. There is some bond between us and I’m going to try my hardest to not ever break that bond.”

Lethal has certainly been booked prominently since arriving in AEW, and will compete at this weekend’s Full Gear event.

The man once called Black Machismo will team with Jeff Jarrett to face Darby Allin and Sting in Double-J’s AEW in-ring debut.

What Could Have Been…

Lethal is happy with his role in AEW, but is aware that things could have been much different.

Speaking about his sense of loyalty, Lethal believes he would not have tried to leave either Ring of Honor or Impact had things been different.

“My dad and I have always talked about being loyal and wrestling and not just going to the highest bidder.”

“I would have been in IMPACT Wrestling, I believe, to this day if they didn’t let me go. Ring of Honor, if they didn’t close down, I would still be wrestling for them to this day.”

Jay Lethal.

In late 2021, Ring of Honor temporarily ceased operations due to costs, and resurfaced in March 2022, now owned by AEW President Tony Khan.

Sammy Guevara Gets Heavy Boos from Dubai Crowd at Global Titans Debut

0

Are the fans in Dubai excited at the prospect of AEW’s Sammy Guevara one day stepping into the ring as a boxer?

In a word, no.

Guevara appeared at the Global Titans Boxing event in Dubai last night but served as a backstage correspondent and commentator.

Speaking to the crowd, Guevara asked if they wanted to see him in the ring one day, earning loud boos from the audience.

Irked by the response, the former AEW TNT Champion asked again and earned an even louder negative reaction.

Despite the negative reaction from the crowd at the Coca-Cola Arena, Guevara said he would consider getting in the ring under the right circumstances.

Sammy Guevara: Pro Boxer?

The crowd in Dubai may not be interested in seeing Guevara competing in pro boxing, but that is the reported plan.

After Guevara was announced for the Global Titans event, Dave Meltzer reported that the show’s promoters are hopeful that Guevara will compete at a future show.

The former AEW TNT Champion does not have any professional fighting experience.

Guevara in AEW

Joining AEW in February 2019, Guevara is a record-tying three-time AEW TNT Champion, an accolade he shares with Cody Rhodes.

Once part of the Inner Circle, Guevara is now part of the Jericho Appreciation Society.

The Spanish God’s actions out of the ring have also been noteworthy, as he engaged in an altercation with Eddie Kingston earlier this year, and was more recently attacked by Andrade El Idolo.

Guevara’s most recent match came on last week’s AEW Dynamite, where he lost to Bryan Danielson in a two out of three falls match.

After the show went off the air, Danielson offered to shake Guevara’s hand, who gave him the middle finger instead.

Miro Jokes About Lack of TV Time in AEW: “Remember that Guy?”

0

Former TNT Champion Miro hasn’t been featured on AEW television lately and there hasn’t been any reason provided for his absence.

He was randomly thrown in a 6-man tag team match at the now infamous All Out PPV on September 4th. Miro teamed up with Darby Allin and Sting to defeat the House of Black at the PPV.

Buddy Matthews bashed Miro with Sting’s baseball bat to take him out of the match. Sting spit mist in Malakai Black’s eyes and Darby capitalized for the pinfall victory. Darby Allin and Sting have been booked for a match at AEW Full Gear on November 19th. The duo will battle Jay Lethal and the recently signed Jeff Jarrett in a tag team match.

  • AEW Full Gear 2022 Preview

Miro is not currently booked for a match for the PPV at the Prudential Center this Saturday. All Elite Wrestling is holding another World Title Eliminator tournament with the finals taking place at the PPV. Miro was a part of the tournament last year but lost to Bryan Danielson in the finals via submission at Full Gear 2021. The former TNT Champion was a replacement for Jon Moxley when he stepped away last year. He was not included in the tournament this year.

A fan on Twitter put together some highlights of The Redeemer in All Elite Wrestling and Miro responded. The 37-year-old responded with “remember that guy?”, a nod to his mysterious lack of television time on Dynamite or Rampage.

CJ Perry on Miro’s Lack of TV Time

Former WWE Superstar CJ Perry (Lana) and Miro’s better half joined Busted Open Radio recently and was asked about her husband’s bizarre booking in All Elite Wrestling. She noted that AEW President Tony Khan has his favorites that he is going to push.

Tony Khan has his favorites and he’s going to push the favorites just like Vince [McMahon] would push his favorites, just like Hunter is going to push his people. It’s show business.

“I Like Scary Chicks” – Liv Morgan Hangs Out with AEW Star (Photo)

0

Liv Morgan has had a career year in WWE. She won the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match and cashed in on the same night. She defeated Ronda Rousey to become SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Morgan picked up another victory over Ronda at this year’s SummerSlam in a controversial finish. The Baddest Woman on the Planet recaptured the SmackDown Women’s Championship in an Extreme Rules match at the premium live event. Liv has since taken a liking to extreme matches, while Ronda is set to defend the title against Shotzi at Survivor Series WarGames.

Liv Morgan was spotted with AEW star Abadon over the weekend. The two were a part of the Big Event expo in New York and took a photo together.

Abadon replied with several heart emojis while Liv Morgan’s former tag team partner Rhea Ripley responded “I know”.

Liv Morgan Appears on Chucky TV Series

Liv Morgan recently made a cameo on the Chucky TV show. The 28-year-old’s appearance on the show didn’t last long as the villainous doll killed her off immediately.

She spoke with USA Insider to promote the show and revealed she reached out to WWE and asked to be in the show.

So I just went to WWE and I was like, ‘Do you think there’s any opportunity for me in any capacity? Because I’d love to be involved in any way, shape, or form.’

And so they reached out, and I was actually put in touch with Don Mancini, the show’s creator – he’s been so gracious to me.

We jumped on a Zoom and he was able to write me into the script. It’s been almost a pipe dream come true. It started with an ask that turned into something unbelievable.
