Cody Rhodes Was ‘Honored’ To Be Part of WWE’s Latest Saudi Arabia Trip

Cody Rhodes has flimsy defence to WWE’s Saudi Arabian shows.

The company’s relationship with the Kingdom came under scrutiny once again when tensions flared up between Israel and Iran just days before the Night of Champions PPV last month. While a ceasefire was reached before the show, it made fans everywhere else question WWE’s visits to the Middle Eastern country.

The WWE quarterback gave his opinion on the matter during a recent interview with Boston Herald. Cody Rhodes criticized what he called the ‘gotcha culture’ of fans, claiming that it shouldn’t be anyone’s business:

“That is a responsibility to our fan base, I don’t want to be negative, but I will say there is this whole ‘gotcha culture’ over who is a Democrat, who is a Republican, who is a moderate, and who people support.

None of these things really should be anybody’s business – because our business is going where our show goes, which is all over the world, and hopefully bringing people together. WWE is a non-partisan brand. We go where the show goes.”

The American Nightmare claimed that seeing the enthusiasm of the fans in Saudi Arabia was one of the biggest eye-opening moments for him. Per Cody Rhodes, there is similarity between the fandom of people in the middle east and in Europe and he felt ‘so honored, especially in tumultuous times, to be able to go.’

Cody competed in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament at Night of Champions where he defeated Randy Orton. The win earned him the right to challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship at the upcoming SummerSlam PPV next month.

Several Unannounced Legends In Town For Evolution 2 (Report)

Several WWE legends are in town for Evolution 2.

The All Women PPV is set to make its return after a long 7 years wait tonight on July 13. The event will be coming live from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. There has been some controversy attached to the PPV however, with fans complaining about the lacklustre build to the show.

Some have also questioned the lack of legend involvement despite slow ticket sales. Kelly Kelly recently revealed that she turned down an invitation because she didn’t want to just sit in the crowd in her return. As of this writing, Nikki Bella and Trish Stratus are the only two veterans who have been included in the card for the PLE.

Now Fightful Select has revealed some more names that will atleast be making an appearance tonight. According to them, Jazz, Leilani Kai, Torrie Wilson and Madusa are all in Atlanta for tonight’s show.

Though one name who is not expect at Evolution 2 despite her recent involvement is Gail Kim. The TNA veteran has been at several NXT shows in recent times.

Her relationship with the new WWE regime is said to be significantly better than the previous management. Despite being recognized as one of the trailblazers of women’s revolution however, Kim is not planned for an appearance at the event.

Reason why Adam Cole is stepping away from AEW has been revealed.

The wrestling veteran was scheduled to defend his TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher at last night’s All In Texas PPV. Hours before the show however, Tony Khan announced that Cole was unable to compete at the show.

The wrestling star still made an appearance at the PPV. It was unfortunately, to relinquish the TNT title in person and address the crowd. Cole and his Paragon teammates were all very emotional during the whole segment and the now former Champion even hinted that this could be the end of his career.

Fightful Select has now provided an update on the situation, confirming the fears that Adam Cole has suffered yet another concussion. According to them, the former WWE star is believed to have suffered the injury within the last week. The decision to pull him out of the show was made early morning on Saturday, because he wasn’t feeling very well.

The former NXT Champion previously spent almost 9 months on the shelf after suffering two back-to-back concussions in mid-2022. The road to recovery from those concussions was not an easy one for the 36-year-old.

Cole previously revealed that for months, he couldn’t even spend 15 minutes inside a car, and he was only cleared to take short walks by doctors. His body was not responding to his commands and at one point, Adam was worried about the quality of his life going forward.

Kenny Omega Reveals His Fear About Young Talents

Kenny Omega has expressed concern about young talents not taking care of their bodies.

The former AEW Champion has faced a number of health problems in recent years that have kept him away from ring for an extended period. Combined with the wear and tear he has put on his body over the years, Omega now has to be very careful about the risks he takes in his matches while also trying to deliver the level of performance fans expect from him.

During his recent appearance on Wrestling Observer Radio, Kenny Omega reflected on the problem of people taking too many risks in their early years only to end up suffering for it later in their lives:

“It almost becomes like you’re chasing the dragon and you don’t want to get to a level where things become too physically demanding, too dangerous, too self-harm inflicting where now you have younger guys, and I’ve been there, ‘Hey, I can take the schedule and still ramp it up.’ You feel that way until you can’t.”

Kenny Omega mentioned how putting on good matches regularly is a double-edged sword for AEW. The company is known to give away dream matches on their weekly TV shows without a lot of build-up. However, this leads to the fans expecting talents to go above and beyond that when they’re booked for a PPV.

The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion discussed how this approach can lead to young guys with a bright future beating themselves up to a point where they cannot enjoy the fruits of their labor when the time comes:

“My worry is that we’re going to have these young guys with incredibly bright futures who are beating themselves up at an accelerated rate so that when it comes time to place faith in a particular athlete or performer, and by that, I mean put the belt on them, can they hold that belt in a healthy state for the long-term?

That’s my fear. I see the writing on the wall for me. I already know where I’m headed and the pace I need to travel at and perform at. I know I’m not invincible. I’ve had the injury and health scares.

I know I have to be careful and pick and choose my moments. You can’t tell a young person, ‘This is going to happen down the road. Trust me.’ Everyone knows it, because I was one of them too, ‘Speak for yourself. I’m fine.’ It’s just how it is.”

This interview came only days before one of AEW’s top stars in Adam Cole, had to vacate the TNT Championship due to an injury. The former NXT Champion was set to compete at All in Texas, and the news of him relinquishing the belt came only hours before the PPV.

This is the third time since 2021 that the 36-year-old has been put on the shelf in the middle of a big program, forcing the company to make major changes to their plans. Cole cut an emotional promo at the PPV, indicating that this might be the end of his wrestling career.

Athena says she is focused only on herself and her achievements.

The ROH Women’s Champion took part in the post-All In press conference. This came after she won the women’s gauntlet match at the PPV event earlier in the day.

During the media scrum she was asked if her win at the show was more impressive than the retirement match of Goldberg taking place on the same day. Replying to the question, Athena said that she is focused only on her own history making career and she doesn’t really care about anyone else:

“I focus on me and my championship reign. I’ve traveled all around the world. I am a history maker. Time and time again, I have made history. I was the first woman to main event a pay-per-view in Hammerstein Ballroom.

A first woman to main event under the Tony Khan banner. I am here to stay. I am focused on me and my championship reign. I don’t care about anyone else right now. Right now, this is my time.”

Goldberg’s last match was held in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. The former WCW Champion challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship but lost the bout after the Ring General locked him into a sleeper hold.

Tonight’s win earns Athena a future shot at the AEW Women’s Championship held by Toni Storm. There is no word on when or where this match will be taking place but Tony Khan has said that he’ll be addressing the matter on TV soon.

Seth Rollins Injury Led To Major Change In SNME Plans (Report)

Seth Rollins’ injury led to some big changes to tonight’s WWE show.

The Architect went up against LA Knight at the July 2025 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The bout had to be cut short, however, when Rollins suffered a leg injury. Reports that have come out since then have confirmed that the injury is legit and not part of any angle.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer provided some more updates on the situation later in the day. He revealed that WWE had to rework the ending of the event in light of Seth’s injury:

“The last 40 minutes of the show was changed on the fly, and there was something that was supposed to happen later that didn’t as a result of the injury,”

The injury also puts the future of the Money In The Bank briefcase currently held by Seth Rollins in doubt. Though in kayfabe he has until next June to cash in, so it’s possible that Rollins will hold onto the contract even as he recovers.

WWE did not abandon the Saturday Night’s Main Event match despite Seth’s injury, and LA Knight ended up picking the victory with a BFT. Though reports suggest that it was Rollins who was originally expected to win the bout. You can check out more about it here.

Tony Khan has confirmed the future of the Unified Title.

Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada managed to beat International Champion Kenny Omega at All In Texas to become the Unified Champion. Don Callis and members of his faction were at the ringside for this bout and he helped Okada by pulling the referee out of the ring at one point during the match.

The AEW President addressed the outcome of the bout during the post-All In press conference. He mentioned that the bout tonight was contested under standard AEW match rules instead of the rules that apply to the Continental title:

“We did it under AEW rules. In this case, for AEW rules, the referee’s decision is final. We’ve gotten through this amazing run, Kazuchika Okada has been the Continental Champion, and there has never been any outsider interference.

If anybody ever interfered in a Continental Title match, they would be fired. Tonight, we fought a match under the unified rules of AEW, where the referee’s decision is final.”

Tony Khan mentioned how Don Callis would have been fired from the company immediately had the bout been contested under Continental Rules. He also explained that since Okada won the bout, all future matches for the Unified title will be contested under Continental rules:

“In this case, the referee had no way of knowing who pulled him out of the ring or who did anything after you [Callis] incapacitated them. If we had been under Continental rules, I would have fired you for that.

Going forward, as the Unified Champion, the prevailing rules will be the Continental rules, so there will never be outside interference ever again in a Unified Championship match, now that the Continental rules apply, with the Continental Champion winning.”

Ahead of AEW All In: Texas, Adam Cole vacated the AEW TNT Championship due to a health setback. During the pay-per-view, Cole spoke from the heart and admitted that it may be the last time he addresses the fans as a professional wrestler.

During the AEW All In: Texas post-show media scrum, Tony Khan addressed the situation. Khan shared that news of Cole’s health issues came out at the last minute, and plans had been in place for him to compete.

“Yesterday we were absolutely planning, even last night when I was at ROH Supercard of Honor, we were planning for the pay-per-view. We had absolutely put everything in place for Adam Cole to defend the TNT Title against Kyle Fletcher.“

Even after AEW Collision, Cole had been scheduled to compete and felt able to do so. Unfortunately, that didn’t end up happening.

“Somewhere between late last night and earlier this morning, we talked and he wasn’t feeling well. And that’s the unpredictable nature of some of these kinds of injuries, and I think it’s important that Adam Cole takes time to get right. Right now, there’s no clear idea of when Cole will be able to wrestle or even speak to fans again.“

A top WWE star made an appearance to hail Goldberg after his final match at tonight’s Saturday Night’s Main Event from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

The former WCW Champion went up against Gunther at the show. The ending of this match saw the referee getting knocked out with a spear which robbed Goldberg of an opportunity to pin his opponent following a Jackhammer.

In the end, the World Champion managed to retain his title after putting the wrestling legend in a sleeper hold. Gunther quickly left the arena after his win, but Goldberg remained in the ring for a while.

What Happened After Saturday Night’s Main Event

The rest of the locker room came out to celebrate the 58-year-old. Goldberg’s son Gage, also joined him in the ring alongside the legends that were in the arena for this bout, including DDP.

The stars will be out at WWE SummerSlam 2025, with a huge tag-team match confirmed for the August Premium Live Event. During WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, it was announced that Randy Orton and Jelly Roll will battle Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event did not go as Seth Rollins had intended as Mr. Money in the Bank may have suffered an injury. In the penultimate match on the card, Rollins battled LA Knight, continuing their feud that began when Knight moved to Monday Night Raw.

During the closing moments of the match, Rollins appeared to suffer some kind of leg injury and collapsed into the corner, clutching his knee. After a few moments of hesitation, Knight would hit his BFT to get the win. Rollins was tended to by medical staff both before and after the finish.

Hangman Page Wins AEW World Title In Brutal Texas Death Match

In an incredibly violent and chaotic Texas Death Match, “Hangman” Adam Page has defeated Jon Moxley in the main event of AEW All In: Texas to become the new AEW World Champion. The bout was filled with extreme weapons, brutal spots, and constant interference from numerous stars.

The match descended into violence almost immediately, with both competitors using weapons ranging from forks and barbed wire to broken glass. In one of several horrifying moments, Moxley slammed Page with a piledriver onto a pile of broken glass. Later in the match, a bed of nails was introduced, with Moxley hitting his Paradigm Shift finisher on Page directly onto the nails. Despite the immense punishment, Page repeatedly managed to get to his feet just before the 10-count.

The match was defined by a revolving door of interferences. Members of Moxley’s Death Riders faction—Marina Shafir, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, and Gabe Kidd—repeatedly got involved, at one point taking out Will Ospreay who had to be stretchered away. This led to the surprise returns of Bryan Danielson and Darby Allin, who rappelled from the stadium roof, to even the odds. The Young Bucks also appeared, attacking Page with an EVP Trigger. The finish came after Swerve Strickland appeared, tossing a steel chain to Page. “Hangman” used the chain to hit a Buckshot Lariat that sent Moxley onto the bed of nails, then used the chain to hang Moxley until he submitted to win the title.

Page’s championship victory capped off a newsworthy night in Arlington. Earlier in the evening, Kazuchika Okada became the inaugural AEW Unified Champion, Daniel Garcia captured the vacant TNT Championship after Adam Cole was forced to relinquish it due to injury, and Athena won the Women’s Casino Gauntlet to earn a future world title shot.

In a dramatic, hard-hitting contest at AEW All In: Texas, Kazuchika Okada defeated Kenny Omega to become the first-ever AEW Unified Champion. The match was a back-and-forth classic marred by constant interference from the Don Callis Family.

The AEW World Tag Team Championship match at All In: Texas ended with retained champions, but the aftermath saw a stunning betrayal and the shocking return of Adam Copeland.

In a chaotic three-way match, The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) successfully defended their AEW World Tag Team Championships against JetSpeed and The Patriarchy. The end came after FTR appeared, distracting Christian Cage and allowing Lashley to hit a spear for the pinfall victory. Following the match, Cage was brutally attacked by his own protégé, Nick Wayne, with Kip Sabian joining in on the assault. Nick Wayne’s mother, who was at ringside, slapped Cage repeatedly before they set him up for a con-chair-to.

Just as Wayne was about to strike, the music of Adam Copeland hit, and the WWE Hall of Famer sprinted to the ring to make the save. Copeland cleared the ring, delivering spears to Nick Wayne, Kip Sabian, and both members of FTR. In a tense and emotional moment, Copeland then helped his former friend and rival, Christian Cage, to his feet. Entering the match as a late entrant, Athena made her presence felt immediately by targeting multiple competitors. Her path of destruction included delivering several powerbombs to Mina Shirakawa and taking out Thekla, Tay Melo, Kris Statlander, and Megan Bayne. The match also featured the surprise AEW debut of Syuri, who had a brief confrontation with the dominant Athena.

The final moments of the gauntlet saw Athena outlast a field that included Thunder Rosa, Willow Nightingale, and Queen Aminata. She secured the victory by pinning Mina Shirakawa after hitting her signature finisher, “The O-Face.” The win guarantees Athena a future match for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Athena will now await the outcome of the AEW Women’s World Championship match scheduled for later tonight. The reigning champion, Toni Storm, is set to defend her title against “The CEO” Mercedes Moné. Athena will challenge the winner of that high-stakes encounter at a future date.

Many WWE fans were left surprised after the match between R-Truth and Aleister Black on last night’s Friday Night SmackDown lasted only 90 seconds. A new report has shed light on the situation, revealing that the bout was drastically shortened due to a previous segment running long.

According to a report from PWInsiderElite.com, the match between Truth and Black had to be cut for time on the fly. The preceding segment, which involved musical guest Jelly Roll and United States Champion Logan Paul, went much longer than was initially planned in the show’s format. As a result, the following match lost the majority of its allotted time. A WWE source reportedly described the decision as a “necessary evil” to keep the live broadcast on schedule.

The report also noted that while the outcome of the match—R-Truth getting the victory—went as planned, the bout was originally scheduled to be a much longer and more competitive contest. The one-sided nature of the match was not the initial intention. The surprisingly short match caught many backstage off guard, given the strong push R-Truth has received since his return and the plans for Aleister Black’s ascension on the SmackDown roster. It was clarified that the time cut is not seen as a negative reflection on either superstar and their pushes will continue.

While neither R-Truth nor Aleister Black are scheduled for a match at tonight’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, it has been announced that Logan Paul will appear on next week’s episode of SmackDown to address his plans for the upcoming SummerSlam premium live event.

Just hours after it was announced that he was not medically cleared to compete, Adam Cole appeared at AEW All In: Texas to address the fans. In an emotional in-ring promo, Cole discussed his health and his uncertain future in professional wrestling.

Before the newly-announced four-way match for the TNT Championship he vacated, Adam Cole came to the ring and spoke directly to the fans in attendance. He confirmed that he has been dealing with health issues and is facing a lengthy absence from the ring, admitting that he is not sure if he will be able to return.

“It’s really hard to put it into words and I’m sorry I can’t wrestle,” Cole said. “I have health issues that have been going on for a while and that I’ll be gone for a while. I don’t even wanna talk about retiring since I’m not in the headspace, but I wanted to address the fans if this is goodbye for me.”

Cole was then joined in the ring by the other members of his faction, Paragon, as they shared a moment in the ring. The segment added an emotional and somber note to the event, with Cole’s future in AEW now in serious doubt. Cole had been scheduled to defend the TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher before the injury forced him to relinquish the title earlier today.

Immediately following Cole’s address to the live crowd, the four-way match for the vacant TNT Championship was held. After a chaotic encounter, Daniel Garcia was able to pin Sammy Guevara to win the match and become the new TNT Champion.

Kelly Kelly Reveals Why She Declined WWE Evolution 2 Invite

Former WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly revealed she turned down an invitation to attend WWE’s all-women’s Premium Live Event, Evolution II, scheduled for July 13th.

Kelly was invited to sit in the crowd but felt it wasn’t the right way to return to WWE, preferring a more active role.

She expressed her sentiments through a post on X, emphasizing her pride in her participation in the first Evolution in 2018 and her readiness to return when the time is right.

“Thank you love ?,I was So honored to be invited to Evolution II, to sit in the crowd it just didn’t feel like the right way to come back. I’ll always be proud to have been part of the first, my heart is with every woman in that ring tomorrow. I’ll be back when the time’s right??”

Kelly last competed in the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble.

Josh Mathews Appears On AEW All In Zero Hour Pre-Show

Former WWE and TNA Wrestling personality Josh Mathews has officially made his on-screen debut for AEW. Mathews appeared as part of the panel on the All In: Texas Zero Hour pre-show.

During the live pre-show, host Renee Paquette welcomed Mathews to the panel, which also included Paul Wight, Jeff Jarrett, and RJ City. After giving some thoughts on the card for today’s event, Mathews introduced a pre-recorded interview segment that he conducted with the team of Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland.

It was first reported by PWInsider in May that Mathews had been working backstage for both AEW and Ring of Honor. Mathews later confirmed his role, stating he was shadowing AEW’s Vice President of Post-Production, Mike Mansury, and assisting with ROH tapings. Prior to joining AEW, Mathews had a long career as an announcer and interviewer in WWE and later worked in both on-screen and backstage roles for TNA Wrestling, departing that company in February 2025.

The interview segment Mathews hosted was with two men in one of the biggest matches at All In. Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland are set to face The Young Bucks in a match with major implications. According to the official stipulations, if Ospreay and Strickland lose, they cannot challenge for the AEW World Championship for one year. However, if they win the match, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson will be stripped of their titles as Executive Vice Presidents of AEW.
