Matt Riddle Claims CM Punk Has WWE Backstage Problems

0

Matt Riddle isn’t mincing his words about CM Punk, who he believes is to blame for what many see as a drop in AEW’s success. In a recent Going Ringside interview, Riddle was asked if he’d work for AEW. After sharing he would, Riddle admitted he isn’t sure if Tony Khan would hire him given past issues with WWE alum.

“They hired a lot of former WWE guys and I think that left a bad taste in their mouth, because other than Moxley and maybe another couple, it didn’t really work out too well. Most of them just got fat checks and didn’t do much.”

One name who certainly got a large check was Punk, who returned to wrestling in 2021 as part of AEW. Punk’s run with AEW would end in controversy two years later, an explosion Riddle believes AEW has yet to recover from.

“they’re using more homegrown talent. They had that issue with CM Punk and that went belly up for them—belly up and cost some fans, money, and everything else. They’re still rebuilding.”

Riddle went further, sharing that he’s not a “big fan” of Punk. Not only does Riddle believe Punk “sucks at fighting,” but he also questioned Punk’s attitude behind the scenes.

“He’s a b** to work with in the back… I’ve heard from my boys that still work there that he is a headache. And this isn’t a storyline. This is the facts.”

While Riddle has some strong words about Punk, several reports have shared that Punk has done well backstage in WWE and has served as a mentor for young talent in WWE NXT. With Riddle’s WWE run ending in controversy in 2023, it’s likely, though not certain, that fans will never see the pair cross paths in the ring.

‘It’s A Nightmare’ – Nixon Newell Reflects on Post-WWE Struggles

0

While some wrestlers go on to big things post-WWE, such as Cody Rhodes and Matt Cardona, others aren’t so fortunate. In a recent interview with Wrestling In Middle, former WWE Superstar Nixon Newell admitted that life after WWE has been far from easy.

“Not great, being honest. Um, severe lack of bookings. Uh, not sure where that’s from… yeah, it’s been slow. Hopefully it picks up soon, ‘cause it’s a nightmare. But hopefully soon it gets better.”

While Newell, fka Tegan Nox, believes things could have gone better, her post-WWE chapter hasn’t been all bad. Newell shared that a return to Attack Pro Wrestling and a showdown with TNA’s Dani Luna have been highlights.

“The bookings that I have done—like, I’ve been home to Attack, which has been phenomenal. Got to wrestle Dani Luna, who’s been on my list for years.”

Newell was cut from WWE for the second time in 2024. While things haven’t gone as she had hoped, she remains positive that things will pick up.

Warner Bros. Discovery Splits: What It Means for AEW

0

Warner Bros. Discovery has made the decision to split into two companies in 2026, a move that will have major ramifications in entertainment. With AEW maintaining a strong relationship with WBD, fans have been wondering what this means for the All-Elite promotion.

According to Sports Illustrated‘s Jon Alba, a source familiar with the situation stated that they don’t expect anything to change “for the foreseeable future” regarding AEW’s standing with Warner Bros. Discovery. That said, the timeline for what constitutes the “foreseeable future” remains unclear.

Warner Bros. Discovery plans to split into two entities by mid-2026. The first, called Global Networks, will house TBS, TNT, Discovery+, and Bleacher Report—the current home of AEW’s Dynamite and Collision. This division will be led by Gunnar Wiedenfels, WBD’s current Chief Financial Officer.

The second company, Streaming and Studios, will include HBO, HBO Max, Warner Bros. film and TV production, and DC Studios. It will be led by David Zaslav, WBD’s current President and CEO. While AEW is expected to fall within Global Networks, Tony Khan often references Zaslav when discussing AEW’s television future.

Whatever happens, fans can expect plenty more exciting action from AEW in the years to come, no matter which of the two company hosts the All-Elite programming.

WWE Planning Major Push For SmackDown Star Ahead Of Evolution

0

With the all-women’s premium live event, Evolution, just weeks away, WWE is expected to begin building major storylines on tonight’s RAW.

According to PWInsiderElite, an early plan for the July 13th show in Atlanta is a match between Jade Cargill and the new Ms. Money in the Bank, Naomi. To help promote the event, a big push is expected for Cargill, using her as a regional draw to help move tickets.

After her win on Saturday, Naomi said she wanted a match with Cargill before cashing in on champion Tiffany Stratton. A match between the two powerhouse stars presents a unique booking challenge, especially given the momentum from Naomi’s current heel run.

Adding to the build for Evolution, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella returns to RAW tonight. She is expected to be heavily involved in a significant storyline for the July pay-per-view.

Nikki Bella Returns to WWE Raw Tonight: What’s Behind Her Comeback

0

Nikki Bella Returns to WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella makes her highly anticipated return to Monday Night Raw tonight, marking her first official WWE appearance since her surprise entry in the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble. The former Divas Champion’s comeback has sparked significant speculation about her motivations and what fans can expect from this run.

Why Now?

Bella’s return stems from a renewed passion for wrestling that was reignited during her Royal Rumble appearance. “I really missed it, but I’m in mom mode and things are different now,” Bella said on a recent episode of her Nikki & Brie Show podcast. “The show made me think about how we can come back and do more of a story.”

While emphasizing that neither she nor sister Brie can return full-time due to their current life stages, Bella has expressed openness to special appearances and story-driven programs. Her return coincides strategically with the returns of WWE’s Queen of the Ring tournament and WWE Evolution.

Dream Opponents and Future Plans

Bella has been vocal about wanting to work with the current generation of WWE Superstars, specifically mentioning Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley as dream opponents. “Being in the ring with Bianca Belair, I would love to come back and work with Bianca. I would love to come back and work with Rhea [Ripley]. I’m a huge fangirl of hers,” she revealed.

Potential feuds could involve current stars like Tiffany Stratton, Stephanie Vaquer, Roxanne Perez, or Chelsea Green, offering fresh matchups that bridge wrestling’s eras.

What to Expect Tonight

Reports indicate Bella has been training intensively for her return, with fellow wrestler Natalya praising her dedication and in-ring ability. While this appearance may be a one-off or the start of a short-term angle, fans can expect the groundwork to be laid for her next big program.

A Strategic Return

Bella’s comeback represents more than nostalgia—it’s a calculated move to blend star power with current storylines. As someone who helped pave the way for today’s women’s division, her presence offers WWE an opportunity to create compelling intergenerational storylines while showcasing the evolution of women’s wrestling.

Sheamus On Banger Bros Tag Team Name: “That Got Shut Down Real Fast”

0

Sheamus recently confirmed that the tag team name he used with Drew McIntyre in 2023, The Banger Bros., was quickly scrapped by WWE.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Sheamus reflected on the short-lived tag team and its popular, yet problematic, name. The duo came together in early 2023 ahead of their acclaimed Triple Threat match against GUNTHER at WrestleMania 39.

“Remember the Banger Brothers? The thing back in the day me and Drew McIntyre. The Banger Brothers,” Sheamus said. “That got shut down real fast, by the way.”

WWE dropped the name after reportedly discovering its similarity to the name of an adult entertainment company. Though the team was popular with fans, they have not teamed up since March 2023.

WWE Worlds Collide Shatters Company YouTube Viewership Record

0

WWE’s Worlds Collide event has set a new company record for live YouTube viewership, drawing massive global audiences to the streaming platform over the weekend.

The collaborative event between WWE and Mexican lucha libre promotion AAA peaked at 764,389 concurrent viewers across WWE’s main and Spanish-language YouTube channels during Saturday’s main event featuring El Hijo del Vikingo defending the AAA Mega Championship against Chad Gable at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.

The milestone represents the largest live audience in WWE history for a YouTube broadcast, underscoring the growing popularity of streaming platforms for professional wrestling content. Within 24 hours of the event, viewership surpassed 4.1 million total viewers on YouTube.

When Worlds Collided

The event’s impact extended beyond traditional viewership metrics. #WorldsCollide dominated social media conversations, becoming the top trending topic globally on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday. WWE generated more than 32 million social media views across all platforms in the first day following the event.

Saturday’s Worlds Collide marked the first collaboration between WWE and AAA since WWE’s acquisition of the Mexican promotion was announced in April. The partnership with Mexico-based holding company Fillip is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025, pending customary closing conditions.

The event featured wrestlers from WWE’s Raw, SmackDown, and NXT brands competing alongside AAA talent in what organizers billed as a historic crossover. In the main event, El Hijo del Vikingo successfully retained his AAA Mega Championship against Chad Gable in an excellent match.

The record-breaking viewership comes as WWE continues expanding its global reach through strategic partnerships and acquisitions. AAA, founded in 1992 by Antonio Peña, has been home to legendary performers including Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, and Penta throughout its three-decade history.

WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings (NYSE: TKO), has increasingly leveraged free streaming platforms to reach broader international audiences while maintaining its premium programming on traditional television and subscription services.

The success of Worlds Collide sets the stage for potential future collaborations between WWE and its newly acquired Mexican partner, as both organizations work to bring lucha libre to global audiences through WWE’s established distribution networks.

Ace Austin Confirms TNA Exit, Reflects on 6-Year Journey

0

TNA Wrestling star Ace Austin has officially departed the company after six years, sharing an emotional farewell message on social media that highlighted his deep connection to the promotion that became his wrestling home.

Ace Austin’s Farewell Message

In his heartfelt statement posted on June 8, 2025, Austin reflected: “There’s so much to be said about how phenomenal the last 6 years have been. It’s impossible to caption how much this time has meant to me. I’m grateful for every moment and I’m incredibly proud of the part I played. Representing the company across the world was an honor. This will always be my first home.”

The wrestler continued with gratitude for his colleagues: “Thank you @ThisIsTNA and thank you especially to the one of a kind locker room full of amazing, caring, hard working people who helped shape me into the performer and man I am today. I grew up with you and I will cherish that time forever. We’ve all worked so hard and TNA is better than ever.”

Austin concluded his message on an optimistic note: “They gave me an opportunity to shine and I gave them some of the best years of my life. Together we flourished. One of the best things about #TNA is the door always swings both ways.”

Background on Austin’s TNA Career

Austin joined TNA in 2019 at age 22 and became a cornerstone of the roster, capturing the X-Division Championship three times and the TNA World Tag Team Championship three times as part of the ABC duo alongside Chris Bey.

The 28-year-old’s contract expired and while TNA engaged in negotiations for a new deal, both parties were unable to reach an agreement, with the split described as amicable by former TNA executive Scott D’Amore.

Austin’s final TNA appearance aired on a recent episode of Impact Wrestling, where he faced Mustafa Ali. Following his departure, Austin confirmed his free agency status on social media, posting “Change is Inevitable. It’s not a matter of if… but when. -FREE AGENT-.”

Former TNA executive Scott D’Amore, who originally signed Austin, praised the wrestler’s potential, stating that Austin becoming “a massive star is, indeed, ‘inevitable'” and that “he’s ready for that next chapter.”

Reports suggest Austin turned down TNA’s contract offer because he’s looking to join a larger wrestling promotion.

Brian Cage Undergoes Knee Replacement Surgery, Shares Intense Recovery Update

0

Brian Cage has revealed he recently underwent knee replacement surgery, just eight weeks after a previous procedure to repair a torn quad tendon.

The AEW star has been sidelined since suffering a leg injury during a match with Chris Masters at the March 20 OWA event. Cage’s last appearance for AEW was on the March 22 episode of Collision, where he teamed with Konosuke Takeshita and Lance Archer.

In April, Cage shared that he had returned to training following his initial surgery. Now, in a new Instagram post, he revealed he’s already back in the gym just four days after undergoing knee replacement surgery.

“4 days post knee replacement (8 weeks post quad tendon repair) and I’m already back in the gym,” he wrote, adding: “Love me, hate me, or somewhere in-between, you can’t deny I’m a f***ing machine!”

Cage explained he had long been dealing with severe knee pain and had planned to have surgery after All In. However, after tearing his quad, he chose to move forward with both procedures sooner than planned.

“Not an easy or fun choice,” he said, “but I’m gonna come back ripping heads off.”

“As Long As It’s Fun”: Big E Opens Up On His Future With WWE

0

Former WWE Champion Big E has found a new role in WWE as a broadcaster while his in-ring future remains uncertain.

Big E has been sidelined since March 2022 after fracturing his C1 and C6 vertebrae from a botched move, with doctors advising him against a return to wrestling. After a brief on-screen appearance during the New Day’s 10-year anniversary, he was turned on by his former partners, completing their heel turn.

In a recent interview with The Sporting Tribune, Big E explained his move to commentary was unplanned.

“It’s interesting because I never really had designs on being a broadcaster,” he said. “They (WWE) called me to be part of the press conference in Vegas with The Rock a year or so ago. It was a lot of fun, I said, you know what, I’ll keep doing this as long as it’s fun. So, I’ve enjoyed it.”

He added, “As long as it continues to be fun, I still wanna be here.”

“I’ll Bring Silence”: GUNTHER Issues Warning Ahead Of Jey Uso Rematch

0

Ahead of his World Heavyweight Championship rematch against Jey Uso on WWE Raw, GUNTHER took to Instagram with a simple promise: “Let them cheer. I’ll bring silence.”

The match is GUNTHER’s first one-on-one opportunity to reclaim the title he lost to Uso at WrestleMania 41, where he shockingly tapped out. In the weeks following that loss, a frustrated GUNTHER was met with “you tapped out” chants from WWE fans.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by GUNTHER (@gunther_wwe)

His frustration boiled over when he attacked commentators Michael Cole and Pat McAfee on Raw, locking Cole in a sleeper hold before brawling with McAfee. The attack led to Raw General Manager Adam Pearce suspending GUNTHER indefinitely for his “unacceptable conduct.”

GUNTHER later beat Pat McAfee at Backlash in a one-sided bout. Uso is coming off a win alongside Cody Rhodes over WWE Champion John Cena and Logan Paul at Money in the Bank.

Now reinstated, The Ring General looks to end Jey Uso’s reign and recapture the championship he held for a historic period. There is speculation that this match may lead to GUNTHER’s rumored showdown with Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event next month.

Dominik Mysterio Honors Eddie Guerrero with IC Title Tribute

0

Dominik Mysterio has made it no secret that he is inspired by the late, great Eddie Guerrero who tragically passed in November 2005, aged 38. Taking to X, Mysterio shared that he recently visited Guerrero’s grave, and gave a solemn tribute: the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Mysterio has held the title since WrestleMania 41 and wasted no time in declaring himself as the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time. Guerrero held the title on two occasions for a combined 116 days, winning the gold from Chyna and Rob Van Dam in 2000 and 2002 respectively.

Close to two decades after his passing, Guerrero continues to inspire the modern-day wrestling world, a testament to the legacy he left behind. For Dominik Mysterio, his visit to Guerrero’s grave wasn’t just about honoring a fellow wrestler, but a man who helped shape his life both in and out of the ring.

Later this year, Natalya’s memoir will be released, giving fans an in-depth insight into her life and career.

With this award, Natalya joins an elite list of wrestling figures who have made significant contributions both inside and outside the ring. This recognition reinforces her legacy as one of WWE’s most respected veterans.

Shotzi Announces Death Match Retirement, With One Exception

0

Former WWE Superstar Shotzi Blackheart is through with competing in death matches, unless a certain opponent emerges to face her in the ring. At GCW Wrestling’s Terms of Service event, Shotzi competed in a brutal death match. During the match, she too a DDT through a door, a fork to the heaad, and a powebomb on a pane of glass but was still standing tall by the end.

On X, Shotzi shared some before and after photos, highlighting the effects of the violent match.

Shotzi would also reveal that she is through competing in death matches. With that in mind, a potential match with Nick Gage would make her reconsider.

Shotzi was cut from WWE earlier this year, with fans wondering what her future will look like. Now, fans can seemingly count out more death matches unless Gage, a prolific death match wrestler, makes it happen.

Stephanie Vaquer Shares Update After Gruelling WWE Weekend

0

Stephanie Vaquer went through a grueling weekend and the former WWE NXT Women’s and Women’s North American Champion is still standing. After wrestling in three high-profile matches across SmackDown, Worlds Collide, and Money in the Bank in under 24 hours, the former NXT Women’s Champion took to social media to update fans on how she’s holding up.

Vaquer kicked off her painful weekend on SmackDown where she competed in a six-woman tag-team match, from there she spent the weekend teaming with Lola Vice at Worlds Collide, where they defeated Chik Tormenta and Dalys in Los Angeles. Less than a day later, she stepped back into the ring for the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, squaring off against Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Giulia, Rhea Ripley, and Roxanne Perez.

Naomi won the women’s Ladder match but Vaquer left her mark in her Money in the Bank debut. Now, the Chilean Superstar is heading to Monday Night Raw, proving there’s no time to rest in the whirlwind known as WWE.

Latest On Mr. Igauna After Viral WWE/AAA Appearances

0

Several Superstars competed at WWE Money in the Bank, but one of the biggest ovations of the night went to Mr. Iguana, an AAA wrestler who was in the crowd. The reaction to Iguana came after his viral appearance at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide, leaving fans excited to see more of him.

On X, Mr. Iguana made clear that the support he’s received hasn’t gone unnoticed. He shared his gratitude and happiness before teasing that fans won’t have to wait long to see him again.

Mr. Iguana has proven to be a talking point among fans and wrestles alike. During the post-show press conference, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque addressed the whirlwind of support behind Mr. Iguana.

“I never knew iguanas were so much fun. So I think that will be an amazing, amazing — I think kids are gonna want iguanas everywhere.”

Following Worlds Collide and Money in the Bank, there was buzz within WWE about merchandising possibilities for Mr. Iguana, PW Insider reports. With that in mind, expect the herbivorous-inspired wrestler back on TV sooner than later.

WWE Taking Precautions After Roxanne Perez Stalker Incident

0

Roxanne Perez appeared at her scheduled WWE Money in the Bank meet and greet in Santa Monica, but WWE was very careful to ensure the safety of The Prodigy. Following threats from a disturbing Twitter account that shared her alleged home address and posted a countdown to June 6, WWE enforced heightened security measures, Fightful Select reports.

These measures came after threats from a disturbing Twitter account that shared her alleged home address and posted a countdown to June 6. The account, named “Is Roxanne Perez D3ad yet?” was asked if the former NXT Women’s Champion had been killed and the account chillingly responded: “Unfortunately not.” WWE executive Adam Pearce acknowledged the threat and confirmed it had been reported to the appropriate authorities.

Despite this scary situation, Perez participated in the Money in the Bank ladder match, delivering a strong performance—even though she didn’t secure the briefcase. Fans have since shown strong support for the former NXT Women’s Champion, commending her resilience in the face of this ordeal.

With multiple female talent facing stalkers, including Sonya Deville in 2020, it’s no wonder why WWE are being very protective of Perez. Hopefully, this is the last time that Perez or any wrestler has to deal with a situation like this.

Zelina Vega, Damian Priest Part of Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City

0

Damian Priest and reigning Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega were more than happy to represent WWE at the recent National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City. On X, WWE shared footage of the pair at the parade.

Also on X, both Priest and Vega discussed their experiences at the parade.

Neither Superstar has been shy about the significance of their Puerto Rican heritage. At WWE Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, Vega challenged for the WWE Women’s World Championship but came up short against Rhea Ripley. In the show’s main event, Priest battled Bad Bunny and lost to the Grmmy Award-winning artist in the San Juan Street Fight.

Today, both are regulars on SmackDown and are featured in high-profile feuds. With their roles on WWE TV defined, Priest and Vega are proud to represent Puerto Rico both in and out of the ring.

Elayna Black Says She Had “Gut Feeling” About WWE Release

0

Elayna Black, formerly known as Cora Jade in NXT, was released from her WWE contract last month. In a new interview with TMZ, Black said that while talent cuts are always a possibility, she had a strong feeling that her time with the company was ending.

“I did have that gut feeling maybe like two weeks prior,” Black stated. She explained that during WrestleMania week in Las Vegas, she felt it would be her last big event with the company and made sure to enjoy the experience.

This feeling continued up to her final match. “I think it was my last actual match there was I wrestled Sol Ruca on a live event. I just knew… that it was going to be my last time there,” she recalled. “I took a long time afterwards. I signed autographs, which I never really do because I’m a heel… But I knew that. I was like, well, that’s a wrap. Sure as hell it was a week later.”

Since her release, Black has commented on her future, including the possibility of joining AEW.

Drew McIntyre On If He’s Unhappy With Damian Priest Feud

0

Drew McIntyre has explained how the collaboration between the current WWE management and the talents work.

Coming off his incredible 2024 rivalry with CM Punk, many thought McIntyre would be involved in a main event angle during the WrestleMania 41 season. He even had a feud with The Bloodline leading up to Royal Rumble but Drew ended up in a story with Damian Priest for the Show of Shows instead.

The Scottish Warrior talked about his work with Priest during his recent appearance on the Gorilla Position podcast. He was asked if he was not happy with the pivot in this direction and Drew McIntyre gave an ambiguous answer:

“I mean, [laughs] this is WWE. If you know anything about watching the show, you know things are not always as they seem. And if you know anything about being backstage, things change every freaking second.”

Last minute changes were a staple of the Vince McMahon management. When asked if it was still a thing, the former World Champion explained that they still have to listen to the crowd:

“I mean not as much but, it depends on how things are feeling, how the crowd are reacting. If things aren’t playing out how we want them to play out or the fans aren’t feeling something, they’re going to change in a second.”

It’s Very Collaborative: Drew McIntyre

The new WWE management under Triple H has been praised by many superstars for being much more collaborative with talents. When asked if this is really the case, Drew McIntyre replied positively. He gave an example of how the writers respond when someone like him comes up with an idea that he wants to implement instantly:

“Yep, it is very collaborative. I mean everybody is on the same page. Things change and that’s just the nature of the industry. But everybody is communicating now [like] ‘Okay, we’re going in this direction now. How we’re going to make it make logical sense.’

Our opinion matters more than ever these days. The great thing about the collaboration for somebody like myself, you know outside the company. Sometimes I’m like ‘Right, I gotta do all this right now. I’ve got these ideas. I want to throw them out on this one show.’

And the writers are there saying ‘Okay, this is the idea but how about if we split some of that stuff up week to week, so we’re able to tell that story a little bit slower. We have 52 weeks, remember.'”

McIntyre said that this is the good thing about collaboration because you need people like himself who are willing to take an idea and run away with it. However, you also need someone to pull back at times and help them see things from a different perspective.

Triple H Teases Unexpected WWE Collaborations In Coming Times

Triple H has teased collaborations from ‘different sources’ in the coming times.

The Game took part in the Money In The Bank post show where he was asked about Cardi B potentially wrestling in WWE. H interestingly claimed that working with the music star is like ‘hanging on to the tiger’s tail.’

The WWE Executive then mentioned how there are many artists from different categories who want to work with the company. They’re working to determine which one of them deserve the chance:

“There’s a lot of artists out there across so many different things now that are just…they’re fans and looking to come in and do things with us and we’ll vet through them and try to figure out what [are] the ones that can do the most and be a positive for our fan base and just help to expand the product out beyond the realm of just wrestling fans and get the rest of the world into what we’re doing.”

My Mind Is Spinning: Triple H

Triple H also teased some unexpected collaborations for the company in the coming times, claiming that the fans would not expect them to go down that road:

“There’s a lot of…my mind is spinning as I’m saying it, but there’s a lot of exciting things that will be coming up. I believe over the next year or two from a lot of different sources. Many of which you wouldn’t expect us to maybe go down that road. That will be additive to the business.

So I think it’s a really cool time where things are clicking. The world is watching and they’re excited about what we’re doing. You see it across the numbers of everything we’re doing. So exciting time and just keep watching cuz with people like Cardi [B] you never know.”

Apart from this, the WWE Chief Content Officer also answered a question about R-Truth’s MITB return. Though his remarks have already received some pushback from multiple sources. You can check out more about it here.

Top WWE Executive Arranged R-Truth’s Money In The Bank Return [Report]

0

R-Truth’s WWE return did not come easy.

Triple H tried to suggest over the Money In The Bank post show that release and the surprise PPV return of the WWE star was a work. Truth’s son however, pretty much confirmed that it wasn’t the case.

Fightful Select provided some more details on how things unfolded since June 1, when the beloved WWE star originally announced his departure from the company. It was later confirmed that the officials had decided not to renew his deal, instead of firing him mid-contract.

Per the report, the backstage reaction to the news was not good. Many tears were shed over the news and Truth was flooded with phone calls and messages from his peers. One talent said that the wrestling veteran was let go ‘in a very cold and impersonal way’ with an office employee informing him of the news instead of someone from the top brass reaching out despite his long tenure with the promotion.

R-Truth, real name Ron Killings reportedly ignored many of WWE’s approaches during the week when the office realized the magnitude of the fan backlash and tried to backtrack on their decision. In the end, WWE President Nick Khan himself called the released star to work things out.

Previous reports had said that the company did not think Truth’s current salary was on par with how they were using him. They had offered him a pay cut for contract renewal which Killings had declined. The new deal that he has signed was apparently a ‘meeting halfway’ situation.

In regards to the notion that the whole thing was a work, a number of talents have repeated that it wasn’t planned. One wrestler noted that Ron ‘would never lie’ to them and would have instead asked them to not say anything if it was a storyline.

In light of Triple H’s comment about the situation, one veteran said that they can tell Hunter ‘doesn’t like the fans hijacking creative.’ Though a different talent noted that even The Game knows that ‘lying to or working the locker room is horrible taste.’

Stay tuned for more updates on R-Truth’s WWE future after his return.

Triple H Comments On Cardi B Potentially Wrestling In WWE

Triple H also doesn’t know what to expect from WWE’s partnership with Cardi B.

The WWE Chief Content Officer took part in the Money In The Bank post-show. He was asked about the music star hosting the 2025 SummerSlam event and if she could follow the footsteps of celebrities like Bad Bunny and enter the ring herself.

The Game responded, saying that Cardi B has been a lot of fun to work with so far. However, he explained that controlling her is not an easy task and it’ll be hard to talk her out of a potential match if she sets her mind on it:

“I don’t know if anybody can control Cardi B. Let me just start with that. So if she wants to, I think it’s going to be hard to talk her out of it. What can we expect? Who the hell knows. The one thing I know about Cardi is, whatever she’s going to do is what she’s going to do, and you’re sort of hanging on to the tiger’s tail a little bit there.

She’s a lot of fun to work with, has been so far with this. She’s excited to do it. I think everybody knows, she’s a big fan and has talked a lot about the business over the years, and comments on it a lot. When you work with people like that, it’s exciting. We’ll see where that goes. We’re thrilled to be working with her.”

Triple H later noted that there are many artists who are fans of today’s WWE and want to be part of the show. So they have to carefully choose which names they want to involve with the company based on who can do the most and be a positive for the fanbase.

The WWE Executive also briefly commented on R-Truth’s surprise return trying to suggest that his release was a work. Truth’s son himself, however, has confirmed that it wasn’t the case. You can check out more about it here.
