Mercedes Moné: AEW Women’s Title Win Will Start My Revolution

0

Mercedes Moné has won the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament, earning the “CEO” a shot at AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm. Speaking at the Double or Nothing 2025 post-show media scrum, Moné projected confidence heading into their high-profile title clash at All In.

“I’m ready to dethrone the ‘Timeless’ one, and we’re gonna go onto the revolution of Mercedes Moné.”

Though Moné is confident, she made it clear that she doesn’t take Storm lightly. In fact, Moné revealed that Storm was a key influence in her decision to sign with AEW in 2024.

“She’s legit one of the reasons why I came to AEW. She put AEW on storm for me. I couldn’t stop watching every single week because of her.”

Currently, Moné holds the AEW TBS Championship, the RevPro British Women’s Championship, and now the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Championship. Although she recently lost the NJPW Strong Women’s Title to AZM, Moné is aiming to claim even more gold.

Come All In on July 12 at Globe Life Field, Moné has her sights set on adding the AEW Women’s World Championship to her collection, aiming to become the first woman in AEW to hold both top women’s titles simultaneously.

Hangman Page: The AEW World Title Shouldn’t Be Hidden

0

“Hangman” Adam Page is heading to AEW All In: Texas with a shot at the AEW World Championship firmly in his sights. At AEW Double or Nothing 2025, Page defeated Will Ospreay to win the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament, earning a title opportunity against Jon Moxley.

During the Double or Nothing post-show media scrum, Page spoke about the significance of All In being AEW’s first stadium-sized event in the United States.

“It’s a testament that this is successful. I’m not from somewhere else, I wasn’t established somewhere else, I’m homegrown… That is a testament that All Elite Wrestling has been a huge, gigantic success.”

Page now hopes to reclaim the AEW World Championship—a title fans haven’t seen in months. Since winning the belt in 2024, Jon Moxley has kept it sealed in a briefcase, a move Page is determined to undo.

“For so long, the world champion that I’ve had my eyes set on from the very first Double or Nothing has been hidden in a briefcase. It should be a shining light to the world and a testament to what All Elite Wrestling is and what it’s about.”

Page ended his remarks with a declaration: he intends to “be the one to take it out” of the briefcase at All In on July 12. However, standing in his way is Jon Moxley and the formidable Death Riders.

Mercedes Moné Hits One Year As Champion, Wins Owen Hart Tournament

0

Mercedes Moné has reached a major milestone in her wrestling career, marking one full year as AEW TBS Champion. Moné originally captured the title at AEW Double or Nothing 2024 on May 26, defeating Willow Nightingale in her debut match for the promotion.

Over the past year, Moné has successfully defended the title 17 times, with victories over top AEW talent including Kris Statlander, Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker, Stephanie Vaquer, Anna Jay, and others. She remains undefeated in singles competition within AEW, and this reign marks the longest championship run of her career. Moné’s accolades also include singles and tag team title reigns in WWE, as well as championships in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and RevPro.

Now, the “CEO” has her sights set on even more gold. At Double or Nothing 2025, Moné won the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Along with the championship, she also earned the right to challenge for the AEW Women’s World Championship. No woman in AEW history has ever held both the TBS and Women’s World Championships at the same time, but Moné is poised to become the first.

Hangman Page Wins Owen Hart Tournament, Will Face Jon Moxley at All In

0

Jon Moxley has an opponent for the AEW World Championship at All In, and he’s a Cowboy. The 2025 Double or Nothing event took place at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The show featured several major moments, including the crowning of a new Owen Hart Tournament winner in the main event between Page and Will Ospreay. The pair trade offense until Hangman Page landed his finisher and secured the pinfall, surprising the crowd as his music played to close out Double or Nothing.

Page will now challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title at All In. The cowboy last held the AEW World Championship in 2022 before losing the gold to CM Punk in their infamous feud that saw both men take personal shots at one another. Moxley is in his fourth reign as AEW World Champion and has held the gold since vanquishing Bryan Danielson at AEW WrestleDream in October 2024.

Page is the fourth man to win the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament. He follows past winners including Adam Cole in 2022, Ricky Starks in 2023, and Bryan Danielson in 2024 during his final AEW run. Now, Page, who is also a former AEW World Tag Team Champion, has another accolade to his career.

AEW All In is scheduled for July 12, 2025, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Fans can look forward to a major World Title match deep in the heart of Texas.

Mini Tournament Announced For AEW Fyter Fest Title Shot

0

AEW has announced yet another tournament.

Tonight’s Double or Nothing 2025 PPV saw the conclusion of both the Men’s and Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament. Mercedes Mone picked up the victory on the women’s side while Hangman Page and Will Ospreay battled for the win on the men’s side.

Before the Ospreay-Page bout that main evented the show, however, the company announced the return of Fyter Fest as a 4-hour TV special, emanating from Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO on June 4.

The announcers also confirmed the first match for this special event, revealing that Kenny Omega will be defending his AEW International Title in a fatal four-way match on the show.

The promotion then revealed brackets for a mini-tournament to decide the other three participants of the bout. The list of names set to compete for these spots includes international stars such as Máscara Dorada and Hechicero:

Before this announcement, Kenny Omega competed in a chaotic Anarchy In The Arena match at the Double or Nothing PPV, teaming with Swerve Strickland, Willow Nightingale & The Opps to face Death Riders & The Young Bucks.

After many unimaginably brutal spots, Swerve Strickland introduced a new pair of sneakers covered in thumbtacks. Strickland hit Nick with the Sneaker for the pin while Omega put Matt through an exploding table outside to end the match.

Watch: Toni Storm Shares Kiss With Mina Shirakawa After Double or Nothing 2025 Title Match

0

Love was in the air at AEW Double or Nothing.

The company presented its latest PPV from Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, tonight. The show included some chaotic matches, including the return of Anarchy in the Arena.

The event also featured Mina Shirakawa competing in her first AEW PPV match after becoming a full-time member of the roster, once again challenging Toni Storm for the Women’s World title.

Shirakawa worked on Storm’s leg throughout the night and almost won the match after locking the current champion in a Figure Four towards the end of the bout.

Toni somehow managed to break the submission by reaching the ropes. The two stars then traded near falls before the champion managed to deliver the Storm Zero for the win.

The most interesting moment of the segment came after the bell however, as Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa put their differences aside and shared a kiss for old times’ sake. Shirakawa also kissed Storm’s bad knee before leaving.

This wasn’t the only women’s match of the night as the TBS Champion Mercedes Mone took on Jamie Hayter in the opening match of the PPV event.

The finals of the Women’s Owen Hart tournament saw Mone defeating Hayter. With the win, the TBS champion has earned the right to challenge Storm for the Women’s World title and potentially unify the two belts.

Huge TNA Title Change At WWE Battleground

0

A new TNA Champion has been crowned.

WWE presented the Battleground PPV this year from Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, tonight. The show featured a number of exciting matches including Stephanie Vaquer defeating Jordynne Grace to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.

The main event of the show was Trick Williams challenging TNA World Champion Joe Hendry for the title. The bout was filled with some interesting spots including Williams doing a Spinarooni and Hendry attempting a Rock Bottom.

The TNA Champion almost won the bout towards the end when he delivered a Standing Ovation after a sequence of moves. Trick however managed to get his foot on the rope at the last second.

The action then went out of the ring, where Williams sent the Viral Star through the announce desk. Trick then grabbed the title belt, but Hendry caught him in a pin attempt before he could use it as a weapon. After a near-fall, Trick delivered a Trickshot right onto the title belt to become the new TNA Champion.

This is the first time a top act from one company has been booked to hold the title from the other company in the partnership between WWE and TNA.

It’d be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out. Hendry has his TNA contract expiring later this year so we’ll have to see if Williams drops the title back to him or a new contender emerges after tonight.

Former AEW Champion To Make WWE In-Ring Debut

0

Former All Elite Wrestling standout Mike Santana made a surprise WWE debut appearance at tonight’s NXT Battleground premium live event on Sunday, May 25, 2025, signaling a significant new chapter in his career.

During the NXT Battleground broadcast, Santana was featured in a backstage interview segment conducted by Sarah Schreiber. His first WWE appearance was quickly interrupted by the arrival of the No Quarter Catch Crew. This led to a tense confrontation and a heated verbal exchange, particularly with crew member Tavion Heights.

The altercation resulted in a match being made, as officials confirmed Santana will compete in his “first ever match on WWE television” during “next week’s episode of NXT” where he will face Heights.

Santana, who departed AEW in 2024, has since remained a prominent figure on the independent circuit and in TNA Wrestling, where he recently had a notable backstage interaction with Trick Williams.

WWE Holds Talent Meeting to Educate Roster on Advanced Medical Therapies like PRP & Stem Cells

WWE held a talent meeting this past week focused on providing information about advanced medical procedures designed to aid injury recovery, including Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapies. PWInsider first reported on the meeting, which Fightful Select later confirmed, noting it involved WWE’s medical staff and aimed to educate the roster on these developing treatments.

During the discussion, WWE reportedly “noted that they may even end up working with the stem cell company that a lot of talent have been going to in Cancun,” acknowledging the increasing popularity and perceived benefits of these therapies within professional wrestling. The success story of Rey Mysterio, who famously extended his career through the use of stem cell therapy, was highlighted as a notable example.

However, WWE officials made it clear that the company “stated that they weren’t endorsing the therapies but wanted to educate and highlight an understanding, medical consensus and the like to help everyone evaluate options for recovery.” The primary goal was to differentiate scientifically proven aspects of these treatments from those that still lack conclusive data.

According to reports, talent who attended “found the meeting enlightening,” indicating it served as a valuable session for understanding their potential treatment options and making informed decisions about their health and recovery.

Hall of Famer Teases Natalya’s Next Non-WWE Appearance

0

Natalya has competed twice outside of WWE in 2025, showcasing her skills in both GCW Bloodsport as well as the NWA. Now, Booker T has teased that Natalya may be making her way to Reality of Wrestling. During the GLORY 3: Live Stream Kickoff on ROW’s official YouTube channel, Booker and Brad Gilmore spoke about Natalya possibly joining ROW with Booker hinting that something is coming.

“I was just having a conversation just yesterday… I don’t want to give away too many secrets. We keep everything real close to the vest, you know what I mean?”

Gilmore noted that there was a recent report stating that Natalya has expressed interest in competing in a Reality of Wrestling ring. Booker responded by saying he could easily see it happen.

“Let’s just explore. Let’s use that word… I can see Natalya stepping into Reality of Wrestling and making a huge, huge impact.”

Booker’s no stranger to pulling surprises at ROW with several NXT Superstars having appeared for the promotion. Whether it’s a guest appearance, a training session, or something more long-term, Natalya is more than welcome in a ROW ring.

JBL Fires Back At Viral Video Targeting Wrestling Legends

0

WWE Hall of Famer John “Bradshaw” Layfield has fired back at a video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) that many believe was designed to mock or embarrass retired wrestling legends. The video, captioned “It’s sad to see wrestling legends like this,” features clips of former wrestlers—beginning with Dean Malenko using a scooter for mobility and including footage of Marty Jannetty struggling to walk at a convention.

The video continues with shots of several retired performers signing autographs and greeting fans at a convention. Its tone has been criticized for suggesting that these wrestlers are somehow pitiful—either due to their physical condition or for simply participating in fan events.

In a passionate response, JBL stood up for his fellow legends:

“This is life. We did what we love, we continue to. Because we love wrestling. These guys are legends, legends are worthy of respect-they are hobbling cause they went out every night and performed, hurt or not.

“We don’t ask for pity, we also don’t ask for some dips**t to make videos of us to get clicks. We love our business and we bear the scars. These are my friends, f**k you.”

The video sparked widespread backlash, with many wrestling fans and personalities echoing JBL’s sentiment. While these athletes may no longer be active in the ring, the respect they command remains strong. For JBL and many others, their appearances at conventions represent not decline, but dedication—to the fans, to the craft, and to the legacy of professional wrestling.

Leilani Kai On Long-Awaited WWE Return: ‘All I Ever Wanted’

0

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event saw several legends in attendance, adding to the nostalgic tone of the special event. Among those in attendance was Leilani Kai, marking her return to WWE after decades away. On X, Kai shared a photo of herself from the event, declaring that being part of a WWE production event was all she’d ever wanted.

Kai certainly deserves the title of ‘WWE Legend,’ as she was part of the very first WrestleMania in March 1985. During her time with the promotion, she would hold the WWF Women’s Championship once an was a two-time holder of the original WWF Women’s Tag Team Championships. Prior to Saturday Night’s Main Event, Kai’s most recent WWE appearance had been as part of WrestleMania 10 in 1994.

After over 30 years, Kai has come home to WWE, and hopefully it won’t be another 30 years before she’s seen again. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Kurt Angle & The Sandman Trade Barbs Over Infamous ECW Segment

0

Kurt Angle has share the ring with countless opponents, but now the Olympian is beefing with The Sandman on social media. Though this is a new conflict, the issues between the two date back to 1996 when Angle appeared at an ECW taping. That same taping saw Raven infamously crucify The Sandman, resulting in Kurt walking out and threatening to sue ECW if he was used on the show.

In an interview clip recently shared online, The Sandman called Angle a “p***y” for walking out in offense of the crucifixion segment. This caught the attention of Angle, who in the comments declared “If Sandman has a problem with me then do something about it. You p***y.”

image 5

While Sandman believes Angle was wrong to walk out, ECW did backtrack on the crucifixion. In a character-breaking moment, ECW had Raven apologize for the use of religious symbology that many may have found was in poor taste.

Nearly three decades later, the crucifixion remains an iconic, infamous part of ECW, even with The Sandman and Kurt Angle having very opposing views on the matter.

Bryan Danielson Makes Surprise Appearance At ‘ACTION DEAN’ Event

0

AEW’s Bryan Danielson made a surprise appearance at a recent independent wrestling show as questions remain about his in-ring future. Danielson appeare at the ACTION DEAN~!!!2 on May 24 and shared an in-ring hug with Blue Panther while AEW’s Hologram was also in the ring.

Danielson’s appearance is a welcome surprise as the former World Champion has not appeared for AEW since WrestleDream in October 2024. At the pay-per-view, Danielson was defeated by Jon Moxley in their AEW World Championship main event. Both before and after the event, Danielson spoke about his in-ring career coming to an end, leaving fans to wonder if he’s already finished.

Danielson still remains an active part of AEW behind the scenes, including being a disciplinary figure when needed. Time will tell if fans see Danielson, who did not get violent, see him lace up his boots again.

Cody Rhodes has confirmed his return match.

WWE presented the second Saturday Night’s Main Event of 2025 from Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The main event of the show saw Jey Uso defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul.

After getting a nearfall from a Samoan Drop, Jey delivered a splash from the top rope, and he looked all set to win the match. However John Cena who had a run in with Uso earlier in the night showed up and pulled the referee out of the ring before he could complete the count.

The 17-time world champion then started beating the former Bloodline star until Kingdom hit. As the crowd sang his theme, Cody Rhodes made his way to the ring for the first time since his WrestleMania 41 loss.

The World champ went on top again and delivered another splash. The referee finally woke up and counted the pin, allowing Jey to retain his title.

Cody Rhodes then grabbed the mic to address Cena. He told the Cenation Leader that he had ruined wrestling enough and announced that he’ll be teaming with Jey to face Cena and Paul at the upcoming Money In The Bank PPV on June 7.

The duo of John Cena and Logan Paul left afterward but Rhodes and Uso remained in the ring. You can check out what they did after the show went off air here.

On X, Green shared her instant reaction, and was at a loss for words after her defeat.

Composing herself, Green would explain that she suffered a broken nose during the match. In the heat of the moment though, Green mistook the referee telling her of the injury to the referee claiming she had won. Green also vowed that she’d bounce back and that she wouln’t be down for long.

Chelsea Green and the Secret Hervice planned to kick-off Green’s second administration at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Despite winning the gold at last December’s iteration of the nostalgic event, ligtning did not strike twice for the Canadian.

Watch: What Happened With Cody Rhodes & Jet USO After WWE SNME

Cody Rhodes Attacks John Cena In WWE SNME Return, Teases Tag Match

0

Cody Rhodes made an emphatic return at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and wasted no time in confronting his nemesis John Cena.

During the show’s main event, Jey Uso defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul. When it appeared that Jey had the match won, Cena emerged and took out the referee. John proceeded to attack Jey, a follow-up from their earlier backstage segment in which John said Paul winning the gold would ‘ruin wrestling.’

Cena’s attack was cut short by the returning Rhodes in his first appearance since WrestleMania 41. With Rhodes neutralizing the ‘Unseen Seventeen,’ Jey was able to score the win on Paul after a Spear.

After the match, Rhodes declared that Cena has been ruining things for long enough. Highlighting that the battle lines have been drawn with Cena and Paul on one side, and himself and Jey on the other, Rhodes declared “We’ll see you at Money in the Bank!”

Money in the Bank will take place on June 7, with the card already building to one of the most exciting PLEs of the year. Now, fans can expect a massive tag match next month between four huge Superstars.

TKO in Talks to Put UFC on Netflix, Latest on UFC, ESPN relationship (Exclusive)

0

TKO, the parent company of Ultimate Fighting Championship, is negotiating with Netflix in a potential deal that could land the mixed-martial arts promotion on the world’s most popular streaming service, according to sources familiar with the negotiations.

UFC is nearing the end of its 7-year, $1.5 billion deal with ESPN. The exclusive negotiation period between ESPN and UFC ended on April 15.

While both Netflix and UFC are talking, there are major hurdles that could impede a deal.

TKO wants $1 billion per year for UFC, a massive increase from the seven-year, $1.5 billion deal the promotion had with ESPN. UFC’s regular pay-per-view and weekly show model doesn’t line up with Netflix’s strategy laid out last month by co-CEO Ted Sarandos, who proclaimed a focus on big events.

Netflix doesn’t want to add a pay-per-view model to its current service. The streamer said it’s well aware of how increasing subscription prices may push viewers away. A multi-year, multi-billion dollar deal would force Netflix would apply pressure to raise its subscription rate again.

A source said Netflix could take on UFC Fight Night as regular programming or add another tier specific to UFC to keep subs low for general subscribers.

TKO would like to keep UFC on ESPN in some capacity, including UFC President Dana White. But interest from ESPN may be simmering as Disney has begun focusing on long-term, larger sports leagues with more guaranteed ratings like the NFL, NBA and college football.

TKO sees UFC’s five years on ESPN as an important high mark for making the company and MMA a legitimate big league sport. Other sports, like the NHL and NASCAR, saw negative effects in the past after leaving ESPN for other networks because the network stopped nearly all of its coverage once those leagues left the channel.

ESPN and UFC were reportedly very far apart when their exclusive negotiation window ended, but adding Netflix to the mix as another outlet would give UFC more exposure on two major platforms and a chance to hit TKO’s goal of $1 billion per year.

TKO negotiated a five-year deal with Netflix for WWE Raw, which began airing on the streamer in January.

Other potential players for UFC

After Warner Bros. Discovery lost its rights to the NBA, the company began considering UFC with those suddenly free billions in NBA dollars. That strategy changed and WBD’s interest in UFC dropped considerably after it changed its focus to current IPs and making MAX (now HBO MAX, again), a high-level, but niche player in the streaming market. The company is also waiting out the new Superman movie set this fall, directed by James Gunn, which is another re-launch of WBD’s DC Comics on Cinema.

NBCUniversal could be a possible home for UFC, but NBCU has been on a spending spree following its latest deal with the NBA. NBCU is a favorite to land the Major League Baseball package after the relationship between ESPN and MLB soured, causing the two sides to split in the middle of their deal.

One upside, TKO is already familiar with NBCU due to its long-time relationship with WWE. The Peacock streaming service already airs WWE “PLE” shows.

Amazon Prime Video is another consideration for UFC PPV, especially if the promotion were to partner with another studio for its Fight Night and regular showings.

Gable’s inclusion in Worlds Collide is noteworthy given his issues with luchadors and highflyers, including Penta, Rey Mysterio, Rey Fenix, and others. Now, the American Made star will hope to prove his superiority over lucha libre when he battles one of the most decorated luchadors in recent memory.

The WWExAAA Worlds Collide card so far is as follows:

Bronson Reed Returns, Aligns With Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker & Paul Heyman

0

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event kicked off in a thunderous manner with the return of Bronson Reed to programming. In the opening match, CM Punk and Seth Rollins battled Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. This back-and-forth contest featured some of the very top stars Monday Night Raw has to offer.

The finish of the match saw the faces rolling until Reed emerged and sent Punk through the barricade. The numbers game would prove too much for Sami, who was pinned by Bron Breakker. After the match, Breakker and Reed tease throwing hands, until Rollins hugged his former nemesis. Reed and Breakker also hugged and Reed would hit a Tsunami on Punk for good measure.

Reed had suffered an injury at Survivor Series: WarGames in November 2024 after diving off of the WarGames structure. Now Reed is back and is part of what’s proving to be one of WWE’s most dominant groups.

The Miz Thinks WWE Star Could Surpass John Cena As GOAT

0

The Miz, who has shared the ring with Seth Rollins nearly 100 times, has shared praise upon the former World Heavyweight Champion, calling him the best pure wrestler he has ever encountered. Speaking on Good Morning Football, The Miz didn’t hold back his admiration for Rollins’ abilities.

“Seth is the greatest in-ring technician I have ever wrestled in my entire career. It’s not even close,” The Miz stated. “People don’t understand the mental capacity it takes to be a top-caliber main event superstar.”

The Miz further predicted a legendary future for Rollins, suggesting he could surpass even John Cena in historical discussions: “A lot of people call John Cena the greatest of all time, I think, when Seth Rollins is done in WWE and pro wrestling, we’ll be talking about his name as the greatest of all time because mentally, physically, he has all the gifts to become that person.”

Referencing Rollins’ performance at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas earlier this year, Miz dubbed him “Mr. Main Event,” telling viewers, “If you watched the main event this year on Saturday in Vegas, you would’ve seen Mr. Main Event in that ring in Seth Freakin’ Rollins.”

The Miz and Rollins frequently competed against each other at live events throughout 2023 when Rollins was the World Heavyweight Champion.
