WWE icon John Cena, who captured his historic 17th world championship at WrestleMania 41 earlier this year—two decades after his first world title win in 2005—has named his current reign as his most cherished. Speaking at the Philadelphia Fan Expo on May 24, 2025, the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion shared his perspective on this achievement.
When asked which of his many championship runs stands out as his favorite, Cena pointed directly to his present one. “It’s gotta be this one,” he stated. “If everything lines up, this is the one I’m taking home with me to put on my mantle, so hopefully this one.”
He has publicly promised to “ruin wrestling and destroy the history of the world championship” when he plans to retire as the Undisputed WWE Champion at the end of December 2025. He makes his latest appearance at Saturday Night’s Main Event when he faces off with R-Truth in a non-title match.
Cena will retire at the end of this year. Thus far, he has worked the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania and Backlash PLEs.

The rumored relationship between Myles Borne and NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer has seemingly been confirmed by Borne’s rival Oba Femi. During an interview with WFLA’s Stream Center, Femi confirmed the relationship while discussing his upcoming match with Borne.
“I’m looking forward to, you know, beating up Stephanie’s boyfriend… he’s worked his way up the ranks and uh—he’s won a couple matches to earn an opportunity for the NXT Championship, which I respect.”
While Femi acknowledges that Borne has earned his shot at the title, that won’t change the result in the eyes of the reigning NXT Champion.
“This is not a Disney movie. You don’t get the happy ending. You don’t get to run off into the sunset with my belt.”
Borne and Vaquer were recently spotted together on social media, leading some to speculate that the NXT duo were an item. Now, it appears Femi has confirmed that this is the case.
Borne, who recently opened up about his deafness, will challenge Femi at WWE NXT Battleground. While many are rooting for Borne to win the gold, Femi is vowing that this will not be a Hollywood feel-good ending at the May 25, event.
Karrion Kross was once the leader of the Final Testament, but he once had plans to resurrect a much different faction. Speaking to 10 Count with Steve Fall, Kross revealed that he once wanted to bring back the Corporate Ministry.
“I had ideas about bringing back the Corporate Ministry. That was—that was one of my final ideas that I had. And I had a series of writers on board for that. They thought it was a very good idea.“
The Corporate Ministry came together in 1999 and was a merger of The Corporation, led by Vince and Shane McMahon, and The Undertaker’s Ministry of Darkness. Kross explained how he wanted to give his group a fresh twist by tapping onto some themes prevalent in today’s society.
“There’s always these conspiracy theories about esoteric businesses and stuff like that, and cults and like evil companies and stuff like that. I thought there would be a tasteful way to fictionalize that type of stuff.”
Kross recalled “a bunch of people” thinking that he’d be perfect in the role, so much so that there was talk about creating a podium an other props. While the idea had support, it didn’t go far enough to get the blessing from two names who would’ve been key.
“The only people that I had not gotten a blessing from to do it—because we weren’t that far down the road—would be like Taker and Vince.”
The Corporate Ministry came to an end in 1999, but remains an iconic memory for WWE fans. As for Kross, his growing popularity has led many to predict a bigger role on WWE TV moving forward.
WWE Superstars know all about competing in the ring, and now some of the company’s top talents are coming to the Fanatics Games. During WWE SmackDown, it was announced that Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, Becky Lynch, and Logan Paul will be competing at this year’s games.
The Fanatics Games will take place from June 20-22, and will feature a high-stakes, multi-event skills showdown as part of Fanatics Fest. Fans will have the chance to take on some top names in sports and entertainement, including the aforementioned WWE names, NFL stars, Olympians, and more.
The grand champion will receive $1,000,000 in cash, while second place will take home a Ferrari 812 GTS. 3rd place will win a Lebron James 2003-2004 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor, which recently sold for $250,000. If no fan finishes in the top three, the highest-scoring fan will receive $100,000.
WWE has been partnering with Fanatics for years and this involvement in the Fanatics Games highlights the strength of this partnership.
Alexa Bliss was on the May 23, edition of WWE SmackDown, Alexa Bliss confronted Tiffany Stratton, and vowed victory in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Bliss also declared that she would cash in on Stratton in a clear warning to the reigning WWE Women’s Champion.
The pair were confronted by Charlotte Flair, who also had some choice words for Stratton ahead of her Money in the Bank qualifying match. Refusing to back down, Stratton said how the pair were ‘vintage,’ a not-so-subtle jab at both Bliss and Flair being older than Tiffy Time. Stratton also argued that while the duo were the ‘standard’ of women’s wrestling for years in WWE, she is the upgrade.
On X, Bliss bit back at the notion that she is ‘vintage.’ The Goddess argued that whether she’s vintage or not, Stratton is just a “cheap imitation” of her.
— Lexi (Kaufman) Cabrera (@AlexaBliss_WWE) May 24, 2025
Bliss is just one of several top names confirmed for this year’s star-studded Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Alongside Bliss, fans will get to see Roxanne Perez, Rhea Ripley, and Giulia in action. With two spots left, it remains to be seen who will qualify next and potentially earn a shot at Tiffany Stratton.
On the May 23, edition of WWE SmackDown, Giulia made her impressive in-ring debut for the blue brand, earning a spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Not only did Giulia advance with a win over WWE’s most decorate female star Charlotte Flair, but she earned the submission victory over reigning Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega.
After the match, Giulia relished in her victory, stating “Smackdown! I’m here! And Money in the Bank, soon.”
The match was an emotional one for Giulia and not just because of the Money in the Bank prospects. SmackDown well on the fifth anniversary of the death of Hana Kimura, a close friend of Giulia who died in 2022. After the match, Giulia pointed to the sky, which many had taken as a nod to her late friend.

Now, Giulia will move on to Money in the Bank, joining an all-star cast of Superstars in this year’s Women’s Ladder Match. Alongside the Beautiful Madness, Roxanne Perez, Rhea Ripley, and Alexa Bliss have qualified. Next week’s SmackDown will see Naomi, Nia Jax, and Jade Cargill battle for one of the two remaining spots.
WrestleMania 42 in 2026 won’t be coming to New Orleans after all, but the city will be hosting that year’s Money in the Bank. In a statement shared on X, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque confirmed that Money in the Bank 2026 will take place on Saturday, August 29.
“Money in the Bank is one of our biggest events of the year with high stakes, amazing drama and the chance of a lifetime for two WWE Superstars to walk away with a coveted Money in the Bank briefcase.”
Levesque also discussed the news that WrestleMania 42 will not be taking place in New Orleans as originally planned. Despite this change, fans in ‘NOLA’ will still have the biggest show of the year once more in the future.
“Stay tuned for more details on a WrestleMania coming to New Orleans, which will be announced at a later date. As our major live event calendar in New Orleans continues to expand and evolve… so that just leaves one question. And are you ready?”
While a location for WrestleMania 42 was not confirmed, it has been reported that the show will return to New Orleans, giving fans in Sin City another major spectacle after this year’s event.
A women’s title match has been announced for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
This week’s episode of SmackDown featured the Women’s US Champion Zelina Vega competing in a triple threat match. The Money In The Bank qualifying bout also featured Charlotte Flair and Giulia. Unfortunately for Vega, it was the Japanese star who picked up the victory in the end.
The US Champion was seen walking in a backstage segment after the bout, where she ran into Chelsea Green and the Secret Hervice. Green told her partners to stand down.
Chelsea called Zelina a loser, which made the current champion attack the WWE Diva. As the Secret Hervice joined the fight, Michin and B-FAB came out and the whole thing turned into a brawl before the referees broke it up.
Zelina Vega had defeated Chelsea Green to win the US title at the April 25 episode of SmackDown. After tonight’s confrontation, a title rematch between the two has been announced for tomorrow’s show.
The second Saturday Night’s Main Event of 2025 will be taking place on May 24 from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. Below is the updated card for the show:
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Jey Uso (c) vs. Logan Paul
Tag Team Match: CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins
Singles Match: R-Truth vs. John Cena
Steel Cage Match: Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre
WWE Women’s United States Championship Match: Zelina Vega (c) vs. Chelsea Green
WWE has also confirmed that retired wrestling star Tatanka will be in attendance for this show. Lilian Garcia is expected to serve as the ring announcer for the event.
The road to WWE Money in the Bank will head to Knoxville, TN for the May 30, edition of WWE SmackDown. Not only can fans expected a stacked event but they can expect the return of former WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. During the May 23, episode, Belair’s return was confirmed with a video package in which she reflected on all that has happened as of late.
Good Bianca Belair video package she says it's time for a new beginning
Belair last competed at WrestleMania 41, where she failed to capture the Women’s World Title from IYO SKY in a triple-threat match which included Rhea Ripley. During that match, Belair suffered broken fingers, an injury that has kept her out ever since.
Now, Belair is on her way back but that’s not all planned for next week’s SmackDown. Fans tuning in or watching live in Knoxville can also expect:
Bianca Belair returns in her hometown of Knoxville, TN
Nia Jax vs. Jade Cargill vs. Naomi – Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifier
Jacob Fatu vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade – Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifier
John Cena returns to address the WWE Universe
Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the news about the upcoming SmackDown and about the return of Bianca Belair.
AEW has been in operation since 2019, giving fans an alternative to WWE and its booking of talent. While speaking to Ilana Golan on Leap Academy, Tony Khan explained how Vince McMahon announcing the return of the XFL in 2018 helped inspire his creation.
“In 2018, the McMahon family announced they were going to relaunch the XFL. That probably also had an effect on my thinking because that sounded like a terrible idea to me.
“The amount of money they were going to put into it, when the NFL is such a dominant competitor and the NFL is so strong, and I was proven right because the XFL did go bankrupt, I thought, ‘That’s not going to work.’ You know what would work? A second wrestling league.”
Khan argued that the pool of wrestlers were so big, that building a challenger to WWE would be easier than having the XFL battle the NFL. Khan added that as a fan of wrestling and football, wrestling needed a second league more than football does, and claimed to have been proven right.
The XFL was scrapped in 2020, though it was the COVID-19 pandemic that ultimately doomed McMahon’s second attempt at football. The league was acquired by The Rock that same year and merged with the USFL to create the UFL in November 2023.
Six years on since AEW was announced, the company remains the most direction competition WWE is facing. It reemains to be seen if the company ever becomes number one in wrestling.
The group had been missing from WWE TV for months with a reported injury to its leader Uncle Howdy aka Bo Dallas. There had been all sorts of rumors on when the faction will make their return and how the group will look like upon their comeback.
This week’s episode of SmackDown from EnMarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia featured a chaotic main event which saw Fraxiom challenging Street Profits for the Tag Team Championships.
All four men gave everything they had and there wasn’t a dull moment throughout the bout. #DIY came out towards the end of the show but Motor City Machine Guns were quick to counter them, stopping the duo of Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano from interfering.
After a chaotic few minutes, the match seemed to be reaching its conclusion as Angelo Dawkins hit the Spinebuster on Frazer. Dawkins then tagged Montez Ford who went to the top rope to finish the job.
The lights went out at this moment however and The Wyatt Sicks, with all its members, were standing in the ring when it came back on.
Dexter Lumis got Ford off the top with a Frankensteiner, and the group then started beating everyone in sight. Nikki Cross took out Candice LeRae and the show went off air with the group posing in the ring with a cake.
This return holds special significance as May 23 would have been Bray Wyatt’s 38th birthday. We’ll have to see where the group goes from here.
Drew McIntyre enters his steel cage match against Damien Priest this Saturday at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event less than 100% healthy. The 39-year-old former WWE Champion continues his heated rivalry with “The Archer of Infamy” following their encounter at WrestleMania 41.
While McIntyre defeated Priest in their Sin City Street Fight, he’s still recovering from Priest’s brutal post-match attack at Backlash, where the challenger chokeslammed McIntyre’s head through a table. The impact left McIntyre with lingering neck issues that persist ten days later.
“I can’t turn my head all the way left yet,” McIntyre told the Orlando Sentinel. “Working hurt is just what happens if you’re an athlete, especially as the years go by.”
Despite entering a dangerous steel cage match with limited mobility, the Scottish Warrior acknowledges how wrestler safety protocols have evolved over time.
“If you’re injured, it’s something to take care of,” McIntyre explained. “Maybe back in the day, we would have taped it up and gone with it. In the past, I’ve worked with muscle tears and breaks, which isn’t the most sensible thing, but the way we operate now, you want to last for the long run.”
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcasts live from Tampa, Florida on NBC and Peacock at 8 PM ET this Saturday.????????????????
Omos has declared he is “patiently waiting” for the call to return to company programming and plans to “dominate” upon his return. The superstar hasn’t competed in a WWE ring since participating in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on SmackDown during WrestleMania 40 weekend in April 2024.
Following that appearance, Omos took a detour to Japan, where he notably teamed with Jack Morris to capture the GHC Tag Team Championships in Pro Wrestling NOAH.
During WrestleMania 41 weekend in April 2025, Omos spoke with WhatCulture’s Adam Wilbourn about his current status. When asked about his WWE absence, he stated, “Just waiting. Had fun in Japan and just, patiently waiting.”
Omos expressed a strong desire to resume his WWE career: “I cannot wait to get back in there. I cannot wait to get back in the ring.”
His mission upon returning is clear. “To be honest, man, I’m just ready to dominate. I’m just ready to come out and dominate this ring again, man,” Omos stated. “There’s nothing that brings me more joy than being in the wrestling ring. So whenever that happens, I am just ready and excited to get back in there.”
Erick Rowan and Dexter Lumis were spotted in Savannah, Georgia, on Friday, the same city where WWE SmackDown is set to air live tonight. However, PWInsider, who confirmed their presence in the city, provided no further details on his visit, and there is currently no indication he will appear on the broadcast or be involved in WWE tapings.
Rowan and Lewis have been part of the Wyatt Sicks faction alongside Bo Dallas (as Uncle Howdy), Joe Gacy, and Nikki Cross. Adding to the intrigue, WWE Creative sources reportedly told PWInsider that the mysterious group may return “sooner than you think.”
The Wyatt Sicks have been off television since a segment in December 2024, following an injury to Dallas, who has since been cleared. WWE has reportedly designated the faction for television-only appearances initially, not booking them for live events yet.
WWE has yet to announce that the group will be appearing on the show nor mentioned them in months after their sudden disappearance from television. Alexa Bliss, who had been rumored to be part of the group, returned to television this month and qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Goldberg will wrestle for the final time in 2025, ending one of the most iconic in-ring careers of all time. Speaking to My San Antonio, Goldberg remained coy about match specifics, but shared where he intends his farewell to take place.
“It’s going to be in the South. This gives me the opportunity to put a stamp on my career in front of the people I care the most about.”
Goldberg made his name in wrestling as part of WCW, a promotion that hosted most of its biggest events in Southern United States. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Goldberg’s biggest moment, capturing the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from Hollywood Hogan, would take place in the South.
As for Goldberg’s opponent, that still remains a mystery. Many have pointed at GUNTHER, who had an altercation with Goldberg at the WWE Bad Blood PLE (also in Georgia.) With Goldberg announcing his retirement plans shortly after his face-off with the Austrian, it’s no wonder why many believe the Ring General will give Goldberg his send-off.
No matter who, where, or when, Goldberg’s send off will be a huge final chapter for the WWE Hall of Famer. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Goldberg’s in-ring farewell.
Long before Dominik Mysterio became WWE’s most despised heel, he was just a curious kid with a dangerous fascination that nearly derailed his future.
In a candid interview on Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story” podcast, the 28-year-old superstar revealed the shocking sixth-grade incident that resulted in his suspension—a story involving knives, poor decision-making, and a lesson in consequences that would shape his character both in and out of the ring.
“I was a very curious kid, and I liked knives as a kid,” Mysterio admitted. “I had two little knives that I had found in, you know, probably one of my dad’s gyms.”
The trouble began on the school bus when a friend claimed to have a bigger knife. Young Dominik, thinking like the future negotiator he’d become, proposed a trade. “I said, let’s make a trade here. I have two little knives, you have one big knife. Let’s make a trade,” he recalled. “In my head that made logical sense. I said, Rambo’s got a big knife. I want a big ass knife.”
The elementary school knife exchange quickly went sideways when they were caught red-handed. “We meant no harm. We were just trading knives,” Dominik explained, though he now recognizes how terrifying the situation must have been for others. “Looking back at it now I’m 28. Like, you have two 12 year olds rolling into this bus full of kids with knives.”
When called to the principal’s office, Dominik’s first instinct was deception—he claimed he didn’t have a backpack, having tossed his bright green JanSport into the bushes. “Thinking that I was gonna get away,” he laughed. “But no, that was not the case.”
The incident resulted in police involvement and a suspension that disappointed his parents. But rather than breaking him, the experience taught Dominik his most valuable life lesson: persistence in the face of adversity.
“I guess for me, you gotta get comfortable in your own skin,” he reflected. “I feel that’s the only way you’ll ever succeed because you can’t pretend to be anyone else.”
That authenticity and willingness to embrace his rebellious nature has become Dominik’s calling card as “Dirty Dom,” proving that sometimes our biggest mistakes become our greatest strengths.
Kenny Omega will likely never be known as a Superstar, but he was once part of Deep South Wrestling, a developmental territory for WWE. Speaking candidly during a Twitch stream, Omega detailed the physical and emotional toll of training Bill DeMott employed, and how it pushed him to the limit.
“He allowed for me to develop a palette to eat s*** on a daily basis, over and over again—get the f*** beaten out of me on a daily basis, over and over again. Be told that you’re nothing, that you’ll never be anything, that you’re not good enough, that everything you do is wrong, that you suck.”
Despite the emotional strain, Omega expressed a complicated sense of respect for the experience. The former AEW World Champion now believes that DeMott’s tactics ultimately did him good and would like to reward him.
“If you can endure that, you emerge as a better person, a tougher person. For that, I would love to shake his hand or buy him a meal.”
DeMott’s methods were known for being controversial, including allegedly using homophobic and racial slurs against the young wrestlers. When several wrestlers came forward, alleging that Demott had let trainees train while naked and accused him of condoning sexual harrassment, DeMott would step down from WWE in 2015.
As for Omega, he has become a decorated champion and a well-respected name in wrestling, and believes he has Bill DeMott to thank for some of his success.
Conor McGregor may be a larger-than-life figure in combat sports, but WWE’s Lyra Valkyria isn’t convinced he could cut it in professional wrestling. Speaking with the Irish Mirror to promote WWE Friday Night SmackDown’s return to Ireland this August, the Valkyrie was asked about McGregor one day stepping from UFC to WWE. But despite sharing Irish roots and global appeal, Valkyria offered a blunt response: “He doesn’t have what it takes.”
McGregor has repeatedly teased an interest in pro wrestling with many believing it is just a matter of times before he joins WWE. However, several controversies continue to plague McGregor, including run-ins with the law that may make WWE hesitant to bring him on board.
McGregor has also teased a political future in his native Ireland, which would make any future as a WWE Superstar difficult. Valkryia declined to comment when asked about McGregor’s political aims.
As for Valkyria, her journey in WWE has gone from strength to strength. A former NXT Women’s Champion and the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion, Valkyria is proving that she is doing just fine representing Ireland in WWE, without McGregor in sight.
JC Mateo—formerly known as Jeff Cobb—has opened up about his transition from NJPW to WWE, culminating in his debut at WWE Backlash 2025. In a recent interview with KUAM News, Mateo shared his nerves before appearing in St. Louis to aid Jacob Fatu in his U.S. Title match.
“I didn’t come up through the WWE system. I made a name for myself outside of WWE. So, it’s always scary when you’re gonna debut on WWE and you’re kind of like, ‘Oh man, I hope the people know who I am.’“
Mateo’s fears were quickly silenced as he earned a huge ovation during Backlash. Mateo is grateful that WWE’s HD cameras weren’t able to pick up his emotional reaction to the response.
“Hearing that reaction firsthand was like, very—thank goodness their camera didn’t zoom in on my arms but the goosebumps, it was there for sure.”
Mateo’s path to WWE has been far from typical, but that only makes the moment more meaningful now he is here. As the latest member of the Bloodline, fans can expect to see plenty of the former IWGP Tag Team Champion on WWE programming.
In a real curveball, the May 19, 2025 edition of WWE Raw saw Finn Balor reveal Roxanne Perez as a new member of Judgment Day. The announcement drew mixed reactions from fans, but it was well-orchestrated with an entertaining backstage segment that saw The Prodigy gift Dominik Mysterio chicken tendies and Carlito apples to immediately get in their good graces.
In the long term, this choice has a lot of potential, helping both Perez individually and the Judgment Day faction which has managed to reinvent itself yet again, far outlasting fans’ repeated suspicions that they were running out of gas.
Roxanne Perez Won’t Get Lost In The Shuffle
Photo: WWE
WWE has a legitimate wealth of women’s talent with the Raw, SmackDown, and NXT brands each stacked with enough stars its hard for anyone but a top few wrestlers to get a steady push. There’s no question Roxanne Perez is talented, but she did all there was to do in developmental. Where could she fit into the loaded main roster, though, especially after her team with Giulia lost its first meaningful feud opposite Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley?
Joining Judgment Day gives Perez clear place on the card and a route to be involved with storylines even when she’s not in a championship picture. Indeed, even on valet duty, she stands to be a meaningful player who gets TV time weekly. That’s not to mention that being a part of the faction gives her a clearer heel persona to build from for fans who didn’t follow her in NXT.
Judgment Day Needed Someone To Fill Liv Morgan’s Void
Liv Morgan. Photo: WWE.com
Judgment Day is chock full of talent and Dominik Mysterio in particular is getting his flowers for his great character work and steady improvement in the ring. The fact of the matter is, though, that Liv Morgan is probably the faction’s biggest draw. Her long reign as Women’s World Champion, promo work, and sex appeal all became a huge part of Raw over the last year.
While Roxanne Perez is not as over as Morgan, she can fill a similar void when it comes to generating drama outside the ring and delivering inside it. Her inclusion in the group also makes sense as a powerplay for Finn Balor, who has been in lowkey conflict with Mysterio and Morgan for months, to establish his own female ally within the faction.
Natural Storylines Abound Between Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan, And Raquel Rodriguez
In addition to all the other possibilities awaiting Roxanne Perez, there’s reason to pay attention to her interactions with Raquel Rodriguez. Liv Morgan’s tag team partner has been portrayed as fiercely loyal, and, consequently, there’s plenty of reason for tension between Rodriguez and The Prodigy in the weeks ahead.
There’s also the prospect of Perez serving as Rodriguez’s tag team partner to defend the tag titles in Morgan’s absence. Might fighting shoulder-to-shoulder build a bond between them. And what then? When Morgan comes back, would she, Rodriguez, and Perez defend their titles using the Freebrid Rule? Or what dissension set in immediately as Morgan and Perez compete for the alpha-dog spot in Judgment Day?
Indeed, while, on the face of it, social media is fantasy booking a Perez-Morgan-Mysterio love triangle, the battle for Rodriguez’s loyalties may wind up even more interesting in the months ahead. That’s not to mention the prospect of a civil war bein the offing pitting Perez and Finn Balor against Morgan and Mysterio.
Part of the fun of Roxanne Perez signing on with Judgment Day is that it’s unpredictable where the story might lead. Indeed, this choice may play to some of Triple H’s biggest strengths as a booker in long-term storytelling, exploring quite a few different angles while Judgment Day stays in the spotlight and Perez cements her place as a main roster fixture.
Bray Wyatt’s passing remains one of the most heartbreaking moments in wrestling, with tributes continuing to pour in since his death in August 2023. On May 23, 2025, on what should have been Bray’s 38th birthday, JoJo Offerman shared a heartfelt tribute to her fiance.
Wyatt’s death came months after he was taken off WWE TV in early 2023 over health reasons which were not publicly shared at the time. Wyatt had only returned to WWE the previous October after a much-criticized release in 2021. Fans had been excited to see what Wyatt would do in his return to WWE, making his tragically-young passing all the more heartbreaking.
Though Bray Wyatt is no longer with us, his legacy endures—not only through his contributions to wrestling but through the profound love his family and fans continue to show.
AEW original Paul Wight has addressed fan speculation regarding his status with the company, confirming he remains signed and content.
Wight, who joined AEW in 2021, has undertaken various roles, including color commentator for AEW Dark: Elevation, occasional in-ring competitor, and an authority figure in Ring of Honor. His less frequent television appearances had led some to question his current standing.
During a recent interview with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Wight tated, “I am still with AEW. I’m still very happy with AEW, very happy with Tony Khan and what he’s doing.” He acknowledged online critics but noted his appreciation for the AEW environment.
“I appreciate Tony and the way he treats his talent, and the kind of liberty that Tony gives talent to discover themselves and find themselves,” Wight explained.
“It’s not a cookie-cutter process in AEW; they’re not saying, ‘This is your ring entrance. This is how you pose. This is what you wear.’ AEW is very grassroots, authentic. For me at this stage of the game, I appreciate that.”
WWE is reportedly developing significant plans to expand its live event footprint in Mexico, aiming to run multiple shows in the near future, all building towards a large-scale featured event dubbed “SuperShow Mexico.” This was first reported by WrestleVotes.
According to WrestleVotes earlier this month, “We’re told WWE is planning to run multiple live events in Mexico in the near future, all centered around a featured ‘SuperShow Mexico’ event.” While specific details are still under wraps, the report indicated that the “date and location are still being finalized” for SuperShow Mexico.
Further adding to WWE’s interest in the region, Dave Meltzer noted in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that, “WWE does have plans for a major event in Mexico. Multiple sources have confirmed this and the likelihood it would be announced soon.”
This push into Mexico signals WWE’s ongoing efforts to broaden its international presence and tap into passionate wrestling markets globally. After WWE acquired the company, it’s unclear which stars, including AAA talent, will be used on the show.
AEW star Scorpio Sky has broken his silence regarding his extended absence from television programming, candidly discussing the uncertainty surrounding his status with the promotion.
Speaking on the Creating Character Podcast, Sky acknowledged the dramatic shift in his career trajectory. “My career has sure taken a nosedive, hasn’t it?” he admitted, expressing frustration over widespread speculation about potential injuries while clarifying that he remains healthy and eager to compete.
Sky revealed that his previous diplomatic approach in media interviews may have backfired with AEW management. He referenced an earlier appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s show, explaining that despite his efforts to protect the company’s image and preserve professional relationships built over several years, certain comments apparently didn’t sit well with someone within the organization.
“Come to find out, someone there, still, maybe has a few issues with some of the things I may have said. Now I’m like, ‘Screw it, I’m going to say whatever the hell I want now,’” Sky stated.
The performer admitted to being in the dark about his standing both internally and externally. Sky expressed uncertainty about whether his absence stems from perceived performance issues, undisclosed backstage conflicts, or other factors beyond his control. He emphasized that even he doesn’t fully understand the situation, noting the limited influence wrestlers have over their own booking and storylines.
Sky’s comments suggest ongoing tension between the wrestler and AEW, though he stopped short of making specific accusations against the promotion. His willingness to speak more openly represents a shift from his previously cautious public statements about his employer. The interview marks Sky’s most direct acknowledgment of his career struggles and uncertain future with All Elite Wrestling.????????????????
