R-Truth Reveals Feelings on John Cena’s Heel Turn, Teases Possible Dream Match

0

WWE legend R-Truth opened up about his reaction to John Cena’s shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber during a candid interview with Chris Van Vliet. As a longtime fan and friend of Cena, R-Truth’s emotional response offers a unique perspective on one of wrestling’s most unexpected moments.

The Betrayal

When asked about his childhood hero’s actions, R-Truth initially hesitated to discuss the topic, revealing the depth of his feelings.

“I’m hurt to the beyond hurtivity… all that stuff is just going with me. Like hustle, loyalty, respect, never give up. The make-a-wish stuff—all that is just going with me.”

He even mentioned that “Little Jimmy” was in turmoil over Cena’s actions, highlighting the personal impact of the heel turn.

Two Sides to Every Story

Despite his disappointment, R-Truth demonstrated loyalty by suggesting there might be more to the situation than fans realize.

“There’s two sides to every story. He kicked Cody Rhodes in the balls. We don’t know that for sure. It could have been the inner thigh, top part of the inner thigh, maybe.”

R-Truth explained that he’s still processing the situation, comparing it to “bubble guts” and needing time to determine how to react.

Potential Dream Match

When Van Vliet asked about a possible R-Truth vs. John Cena match during Cena’s retirement tour, the crowd’s enthusiastic response was immediate. R-Truth carefully considered the possibility.

“Only way we can see that though… it’s got to be the right way. I’m not a bad guy. I am a good guy now if you haven’t noticed that. I kiss the babies. I hug people. I don’t kick people in the noans.”

Whether this dream match materializes remains to be seen, but fans clearly relish the potential of seeing these two WWE icons face off one last time.

R-Truth has a history with Cena, including memorable moments competing alongside him and The Rock at Survivor Series. This connection adds additional weight to his comments about Cena’s recent character shift.

Becky Lynch Fires Back at Becky Hogan Moniker: ‘I Changed The Game’

0

Becky Lynch has directly addressed fans who’ve dubbed her “Becky Hogan,” a nickname comparing her to Hulk Hogan following her unannounced return at WrestleMania 41. The term emerged online as some fans criticized her continued top-tier status in WWE.

Speaking during the May 5 WWE Raw Recap, Lynch pushed back in-character against the backlash, defending her record and calling out the double standards.

“I’m the bad guy? All I’ve done is be lovely to some people, a few people, like Lyra,” Lynch said. “Do you remember when… she didn’t beat me, but she won in NXT? She won the NXT Women’s Title.”

Referring to her match against Lyra Valkyria, Lynch continued,

“She beats me, quick roll up, very quick roll up, it wasn’t a definitive win. Beat me with a very quick roll up? Do you know what I did afterwards? Because I’m such a great person, I raised her hand. I raised her hand because I’m that kind of person.”

Turning to recent events, she criticized Valkyria’s actions, saying,

“What did she do tonight? She kicked me in the face. I’ve got a big lump here. My wonderful face, by the way, that is already being scarred up. My nose doesn’t sit perfectly straight anymore, my shoulder is popping out, I’ve got scars on my arms.”

Online Backlash

Lynch underscored her physical sacrifices and dedication to the industry:

“All of this because of what I’ve given to this industry. I wear the scars of what I’ve done on my body. I wear them with pride because of all I’ve given back.”

She concluded by addressing the online comparisons and backlash.

“These people go around and they compare me to this scummy person? After everything I’ve done for them, and I’m the bad guy? I’m supposed to sit here and take it? I’m supposed to go, ‘Oh, I’m sorry,’ even though I didn’t do anything wrong? I broke through glass ceilings, I changed the game.”

Lynch’s fiery response reinforced her in-ring persona while also acknowledging the ongoing discourse among fans surrounding her place in WWE’s current landscape.

NXT Star Confirms Wrestling Retirement After Recent WWE Release

0

An NXT star has announced her retirement after recent WWE release.

The company let go almost a dozen talents in the post WrestleMania 41 cuts earlier this month. The list included former world champion Braun Strowman as well as a number of NXT stars.

One of the names released by the company was Dani Palmer who has decided to say goodbye to the wrestling world after the end of her WWE run.

The female star posted a video of her last match with the company that came at the February 21 Evolve tapings. Palmer, who wrestled Kali Armstrong in the bout, revealed that she suffered a knee injury in the match and wrote that it was ‘the last time’ she would enter the ring:

The now former WWE star wrote a similar message in a story she posted on Instagram and confirmed that it’s officially the end of her athletic career.

Dani Palmer, real name Alexsis Amrhein, was signed by WWE in 2022, and made her in ring debut the same year. She mostly wrestled at live events and NXT Level Up, though Palmer did make a few NXT appearances during her time with the brand.

The good news is that the retired wrestling star seems to be staying positive despite her release, and she noted that she’d be starting a business.

Championship Match And More Announced For WWE Backlash

0

New matches have been announced for the Backlash PPV.

This week’s episode of Raw from Nebraska saw Pat McAfee coming face to face with Gunther after their previous interaction. Both the stars exchanged words before it was announced that they’ll meet at the Backlash PPV.

WWE also announced a rematch between ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio and Penta for the IC title. This came after Dom retained his championship over the Masked Star on Raw after WrestleMania 41, with help from a returning JD McDonagh.

Another component was added to this equation later in the night, as AJ Styles informed the current champion he’d be coming after the IC title following the PPV.

WWE Backlash Updated Match Card

Watch: Jey Uso Attacked Off Air After Raw

0

It didn’t take long for Jey Uso to meet his next challenger after tonight’s Raw from CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska, went off air.

The World Champion defended his title against WrestleMania Night 1 main event winner Seth Rollins in the closing match of tonight’s show. Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman were in Rollins’ corner for this bout.

Breakker got involved as expected after Seth pulled the referee Chad Patton in. This prompted Sami Zayn to come out who evened the odds by taking out Bron.

The young star didn’t stay out for long, however, and he delivered a huge spear to Zayn. As Jey went to check on his friend, Paul Heyman distracted the referee and Breakker hit another spear, this time on the world champion.

What Happened After Raw

Before Rollins could take advantage, CM Punk made his surprise return with a chair in his hands. He blasted Bron Breakker and then attacked Seth. The show went off air with Punk and Zayn standing tall, as the heels retreated.

Jey Uso started greeting the fans at the ringside after recovering but he got taken out by a hooded figure who appeared from the crowd. The figure who revealed himself to be none other than Logan Paul, quickly retreated as Zayn and Punk came to Jey’s aid.

Rollins will likely be focusing on taking out Punk after his interference tonight, so it appears that we’ll see Jey Uso defending his world title against Paul at the upcoming Backlash PPV.

Watch Logan Paul Attack Jey Uso After WWE Raw

0

Jey Uso successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship on Monday’s WWE Raw, but the drama continued after the Netflix stream concluded.

As Uso was shaking hands with fans at ringside following his title defense against Seth Rollins, he was ambushed by Logan Paul, who had disguised himself in a black hoodie. Paul quickly escaped through the crowd while CM Punk and Sami Zayn rushed to Uso’s aid.

WWE released this footage of Paul’s post-show attack:

Sheamus Returns From Hiatus On WWE Raw

0

Sheamus made a surprise return to WWE programming on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw from the CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. This comeback marked his first televised appearance since competing in the 2025 Royal Rumble match.

During the broadcast, Grayson Waller teased an unannounced opponent for his tag team partner, Austin Theory. When the time came for the match, Sheamus’s familiar entrance music hit, eliciting a strong, positive reaction from the live audience.

Sheamus looked impressive in his return bout against one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Austin Theory. After showcasing his signature power, including the White Noise and the Ten Beats of the Bodhran, Sheamus decisively ended the match. He connected with a thunderous Brogue Kick, pinning Theory for the victory.

It’s unclear why Sheamus was off TV up to this point. Following hisreturn, fans are eager to see what’s next for the multi-time former World Champion.

Ric Flair Denies Cancer Reports: ‘I Don’t Have Cancer Of Any Kind’

Wrestling icon Ric Flair has firmly denied having cancer following earlier reports about his health. This clarification comes after his son-in-law Conrad Thompson had initially suggested Flair underwent a procedure to remove skin cancer from his forehead. Flair has now directly addressed these claims on social media, setting the record straight about his condition.

In response to the spreading reports, Flair took to Twitter to address his fans directly: “I’m Sorry People Have Been Misled By Social Media, But I Don’t Have Cancer Of Any Kind. Thank You For Your Concerns And For Everyone Reaching Out. I Am Absolutely Fine, And Unfortunately, You’ll Have To Live And Put Up With Me For Another 25 Years!”

While the 76-year-old wrestling legend has faced significant health challenges in the past—including a life-threatening crisis in 2017 that resulted in multiple organ failures and a medically induced coma—his current statement emphasizes that cancer is not among his health concerns. Despite previous health issues, including a heart attack during his 2022 retirement match and ongoing treatments for alcoholic cardiomyopathy, Flair continues to make public appearances and maintains a positive outlook on his health.

Kevin Owens Mocks Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker During Raw

0

Kevin Owens may be out of action indefinitely due to a neck injury, but he’s staying engaged with the WWE universe. On Monday night, the former champion took to X (formerly Twitter) to take a swipe at Seth Rollins and his associates, Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker.

Social media immediately lit up with reactions to Paul Heyman’s in-ring promo, which some hailed as one of the best of his career. However, much of the chatter also focused on Heyman and Breakker’s noticeably bronzed appearances.

Owens chimed in with a sarcastic tweet:

“Do you also plan on getting an absolutely insane spray tan job to fit in with the rest of your group?“

Despite his current condition, Owens’ tweet shows he’s still keeping tabs on WWE storylines and isn’t passing up an opportunity to stir the pot.

According to WWE, the new version of “The Fire Is Coming” will be released on major streaming platforms in the near future.

New Champion Crowned Before WWE Raw

0

El Grande Americano has officially claimed his first WWE championship after defeating Dragon Lee in a match for the WWE Speed Title.

The bout, taped ahead of Monday Night Raw in Omaha and held on Cinco de Mayo, saw Americano secure the win in a short-format contest designed for digital platforms. This marks the first championship victory in WWE for Americano, who debuted the masked persona earlier this year.

The match is set to be released on WWE’s social media channels in the coming weeks as part of the company’s ongoing push for its Speed division.

Dragon Lee, a former NXT North American Champion, had previously established himself as one of the standout competitors in WWE’s high-paced format, making this a notable win for Americano as he begins his title reign.

WWE and TNA Talent Set for AAA Triplemanía Regia 2025

WWE superstars Ángel and Berto will appear at AAA’s Triplemanía Regia on June 15, marking a major crossover event just weeks ahead of the WWE NXT x AAA Worlds Collide special. The announcement was made by Latin Lover, who confirmed that the two WWE talents are the first names locked in for the show.

In addition to WWE’s involvement, Latin Lover also revealed that wrestlers from TNA will participate in the event, adding to the growing collaboration between promotions.

The news comes as WWE continues its acquisition of AAA, further solidifying the relationship between the two companies. WWE’s existing partnership with TNA has already led to several crossover moments, and the inclusion of both brands at Triplemanía Regia signals more integrated events ahead.

With two crossover shows now on the calendar, Triplemanía Regia and Worlds Collide, fans can expect increased collaboration between WWE, AAA, and TNA in the coming months.

Former WWF Wrestler Mike ‘Duke’ Droese Indicted in Tennessee on Child Exploitation Charge

0

Former WWF wrestler Mike Droese, best known by his ring name “Duke ‘The Dumpster’ Droese,” was indicted last week on one count of Attempted Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a Class D felony in Tennessee.

According to a press release obtained by PWInsider issued Monday by District Attorney General Chris Stanford of Tennessee’s 31st Judicial District, Droese attempted to purchase child sexual abuse material via the Dark Web on April 21, 2024, using a Coinbase account. The transaction was flagged and terminated before completion. The FBI received the initial tip from Coinbase and later passed the information to local authorities in March 2025. An investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation quickly followed, leading to the indictment.

Droese, who was serving as DUI Coordinator for the 31st Judicial District Adult Recovery Court (ARC) Program at the time of the indictment, was terminated from his role immediately after charges were filed. The press release emphasized that Droese’s ARC position did not involve contact with minors.

Droese turned himself in on May 2 and was released after posting $10,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for May 28 in Warren County Circuit Court.

This marks the second criminal case involving Droese. In 2013, he was convicted on drug charges after selling prescription opioids to an undercover informant while employed as a teacher.

Though largely retired from wrestling since 2001, Droese made a brief return at MLW’s Battle Riot event in 2023.

District Attorney Stanford stressed that all child sexual exploitation cases will be prosecuted “no matter who you are.”

The Righteous Exit AEW and ROH

The Righteous, Vincent Marseglia and Dutch, are no longer part of All Elite Wrestling or Ring of Honor, according to PWInsider. Their exit reportedly took place about a week ago, with both performers now removed from the official AEW roster page.

The duo officially signed with AEW and ROH in March 2023, having previously gained recognition during the Sinclair Broadcast Group era of ROH. As part of that run, they held the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships multiple times, establishing themselves as a prominent faction within the promotion.

Their most recent appearances came under the AEW/ROH umbrella, where they continued to represent their dark, cult-inspired persona.

No further details have been released regarding the circumstances of their departure or their future plans in professional wrestling.

The wrestling world reacted with an outpouring of congratulatory messages for the beloved superstar and his fiancée. Fans and fellow wrestlers took to social media to send them well wishes, celebrating this happy chapter for Big E as he looks forward to his wedding.

This personal milestone comes as Big E continues his recovery from a serious neck injury he suffered during a match in March 2022, which has sidelined him from in-ring competition. Despite this challenge, his positive spirit remains evident.

How Timing Helped Cameron Grimes Escape WWE Marijuana Fines

0

Trevor Lee, aka Cameron Grimes, was released from his WWE contract in April 2024. Still, while in the company, he enjoyed the benefits of Marijuana, but without having to pay fines for it.

Within the same post, Lee acknowledged passing all WWE drug tests during his tenure, except testing positive for marijuana. WWE star Ricochet replied to Lee’s comments, suggesting that the resulting fines for marijuana were “worth it.”

However, Lee responded that he personally avoided such fines. He attributed this to his timing, stating he joined WWE after Matt Riddle, whose own issues with marijuana tests were well-documented.

Ricochet expressed surprise at Lee’s claim, seemingly indicating that he still faced fines even after Riddle was part of the company, hinting at potential inconsistencies in policy enforcement.

Lee signed with WWE in January 2019 after making a name for himself in various promotions. In NXT, Grimes found significant success with his popular “Richest Man in NXT” gimmick, which stemmed from real-life investment success. This storyline led to interactions with WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase and a feud with LA Knight over the Million Dollar Championship.

He also captured the NXT North American Championship at NXT Stand & Deliver in April 2022. Grimes finished his run in NXT in late 2022 and was officially drafted to the SmackDown brand in the 2023 WWE Draft, making his main roster debut in May 2023. He was released the following year.

WWE Interested in Working with Ronda Rousey Despite Past Tensions (Report)

0

An update has emerged regarding WWE’s interest in potentially working with Ronda Rousey again in the future.

Rousey departed WWE following SummerSlam 2023, where she lost her final match against Shayna Baszler. Notably, Baszler was released from WWE just this past weekend.

Since leaving the company, Rousey has been openly critical of WWE and its backstage environment during her tenure. Despite these criticisms, reports indicate that WWE maintains interest in collaborating with Rousey again.

Bryan Alvarez recently stated on Wrestling Observer Live: “WWE does still want to do something with Ronda Rousey. Shayna Baszler obviously retired Ronda Rousey, or at least her last match in WWE. So I could not say that there’s no chance we’ll never see Shayna Baszler again. I cannot say we’ll never see Shayna again because if WWE makes a deal with Ronda and Ronda wants Shayna back, she’ll be back.”

The situation suggests that despite Baszler’s recent release, her potential return might be connected to any future arrangement between WWE and Rousey.

Trick Williams Hypes Tonight’s All American Season 7 Finale Guest Appearance: ‘From Extra to Guest Star’

0

Trick Williams is hyping up his guest appearance in tonight’s season 7 finale of All American on The CW. The WWE star took to Twitter today to share his excitement: “Season finale of All American season 7 premieres tonight on the CW. Crazy I went from an extra on the show in season 3 to making a guest star appearance. God is good. Tune in tonight.”

According to Variety, Williams will portray Eddie Blair, the Athletic Director of South Crenshaw High School.

Before launching his professional wrestling career, Williams appeared as an extra on the series during its third season in 2018. His journey from background performer to featured actor represents what he calls “a true full-circle moment” in his entertainment career.

“I am super excited to be a part of this new season of All American,” Williams told Variety. “They treated me like royalty, put me in my own trailer, and made sure I looked top tier. I really appreciated that because four years ago, I was working as an extra–as a kicker–for South Crenshaw. To come back as the A.D. for Crenshaw is super surreal and a true full-circle moment for me. They have a great cast and crew, incredible directors, and a strong team. It was an honor be a part of the show.”

Williams, a former college football player at Hampton University, currently performs on WWE NXT, which also airs on The CW.

The 2-time NXT Champion will compete in a Triple Threat match against Je’Von Evans and current titleholder Oba Femi at NXT Stand & Deliver.

Gunther’s WWE Suspension is Over, McAfee Faceoff on Raw

0

Gunther is back in business. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced in a short video on social media Monday afternoon that the storyline suspension of former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther has been lifted, clearing “The Ring General” to appear on tonight’s May 5 edition of WWE Raw from Omaha, Nebraska. He’ll go face-to-face with his WWE Backlash opponent, Pat McAfee.

Why Gunther Was Suspended

Gunther was fined and indefinitely suspended on April 22 after choking out Pat McAfee and roughing up Michael Cole during the post-WrestleMania episode of Raw. The disciplinary angle also accommodated a brief requested hiatus for the Austrian powerhouse, per backstage reports.

The suspension began to loosen last week when SmackDown GM Nick Aldis—filling in for an injured Pearce—agreed to McAfee’s on-air plea to reinstate Gunther so the two could fight at Backlash on May 10.

Pearce’s fresh video makes that reinstatement official and sets the stage for Gunther’s first televised appearance since WrestleMania 41.

What to Expect Tonight

Raw streams live on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET from the CHI Health Center in Omaha, serving as the go-home show for Backlash. With his ban revoked, Gunther is now free to confront McAfee and add final hype to their grudge match in St. Louis this Saturday. The episode already features segments with Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Paul Heyman, and a non-title clash between Women’s World Champion IYO SKY and Roxanne Perez.

Chelsea Green Signs New Multi-Year WWE Contract

0

Chelsea Green has officially signed a multi-year contract extension with WWE, significantly extending her tenure beyond her previous deal that was set to expire in 2025. (via Fightful Select)

Since returning at the 2023 Royal Rumble, Green has established herself as one of WWE’s most distinctive personalities. She made history in December 2024 by defeating Michin to become the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Champion, adding to her previous accomplishment of capturing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Sonya Deville in July 2023.

Her championship reign has been impressive, establishing herself as the longest-reigning Women’s US Champion with over 110 days and a record four successful title defenses by early April 2025. However, her reign ended on April 25, 2025, when she lost to Zelina Vega on SmackDown following WrestleMania 41.

Green’s character work has made her a standout performer. After winning the US Championship, she embraced the gimmick of America’s “head of state,” with Piper Niven as her bodyguard in what was dubbed the “Secret Hervice.” Along with Alba Fyre, this group has evolved into “The Green Regime” stable.

Green has described feeling empowered in her current WWE role: “In this run, WWE basically said, ‘Here you go. We are releasing the reins,'” which she called “the most empowering thing.”

With this new contract extension secured, fans can look forward to plenty more of Green’s unique brand of entertainment in the years ahead.

Jackie Redmond Apologizes for Missing Tonight’s WWE Raw: ‘Single tear. I’m so sorry.’

0

Jackie Redmond has announced she will not be appearing on tonight’s episode of WWE RAW from Omaha, Nebraska.

In a video shared on her Instagram Stories, Redmond explained she’s in Montreal and had to withdraw from the broadcast due to a last-minute schedule change.

“My original plan was to take a red-eye last night, slash this morning, into Omaha. Didn’t work out that way for a couple of reasons,” she said.

“Actually had to take myself off of RAW for another reason that I won’t get into.”

Redmond added that even without the change in plans, she would have missed her flight following a double-overtime hockey game.

“The game was crazy, as you know, and went to double overtime. And so I would have missed my flights anyways,” she shared.

Despite the setback, she assured fans she’ll be tuning in from home.

“So, you know, it all works out sometimes. But here we are. I won’t be there. Single tear. I’m so sorry. But I’ll be watching from home.”

Tonight’s RAW features a loaded card including appearances from Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman. Matches on the lineup include Rusev vs. Otis, IYO SKY vs. Roxanne Perez, and Penta vs. JD McDonagh, with Becky Lynch addressing Lyra Valkyria ahead of their Women’s Intercontinental Title bout at Backlash.

Lyra Valkyria Thrives on WWE’s Constant Challenge: ‘That’s What I Love About This’

0

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria recently reflected on her whirlwind first year on WWE’s main roster. She also opened up on the constant pressure and unpredictability of her journey.

From winning the Women’s NXT title to scripting history as the first-ever WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Valkyria has come a long way. While her journey on the main roster hasn’t been the smoothest, she doesn’t want to change anything.

Lyra Valkyria has been on the main WWE roster for almost a full year. Her inspiring journey has featured some unexpected moments, twists and turns. Valkyria is also the only Women’s Intercontinental Champion to date which she won after defeating former WWE star Dakota Kai earlier this year.

While speaking to SI The Takedown’s Zach Heydorn in a new interview, Lyra Valkyria opened up on her journey in WWE. Valkyria stated that the main roster is quite different from NXT. She said that her head is always spinning:

“It’s never going to be on straight. It’s just always spinning.”

While she reached the Queen of the Ring finals and became the Women’s IC champion, she still feels the hunger to achieve more. She has embraced the ever-changing nature of pro wrestling and she is always striving for growth:

“I can’t say that I’m absolutely thrilled with everything I’ve done. Like, of course, who could imagine in my first year I’d have been in the Queen of the Ring finals in Saudi Arabia. That was my first PLE with Raw. The first Intercontinental Women’s Champion. I’ve had some matches that I’m very, very proud of — some very proud title defenses as well. So, I’m very, very proud, and it’s hard to feel like anything has ever gone wrong in my life. Because look where I am. I’m very happy.

“As far as going forward, just naturally what we do, I’m never going to feel like, ‘yeah, I’ve got it now. Yeah, I’m great.’ There’s always going to be something that I’m working on, or something I haven’t done, and that’s just the nature of of what this is like. The second you feel like you’ve got it figured out, the board changes, and you have to figure something else out. That’s what I love about this.”

Lyra Valkyria recently faced betrayal when her mentor Becky Lynch turned on her during the ‘Raw After WrestleMania 41.’ ‘The Man’ attacked Valkyria as the duo lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

On last week’s edition of Raw, Lynch took yet another cheap shot at Valkyria. The two Irish brawlers will face each other and the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title will be up for grabs at this Saturday’s WWE Backlash PLE.

Becky Lynch is also set to call out Lyra Valkyria on tonight’s edition of WWE Raw.
