Another Update on Adam Cole’s Injury

Adam Cole recently suffered an injury and there is a seemingly positive update on his status.

The early word was that Cole suffered some type of shoulder injury during the Owen Hart Cup Tournament. His arm was taped up for the finals of the tourney at Double or Nothing against Samoa Joe.

Cole ended up winning the match but hasn’t wrestled since.

Adam Cole Return Period

Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer that Adam Cole isn’t expected to get back in the ring until Forbidden Door on June 26. Bryan has been told that AEW officials are letting him rest up.

Cole had been scheduled for a 10-man tag team match on the June 1 episode of Dynamite. He and Jeff Hardy ended up being removed from the match.

In Jeff’s case, it was due to the fact that he’s been quite banged up as of late. The belief is that his Owen Hart Cup quarterfinal match with Darby Allin is what really had Jeff hurting.

Booker T Reveals Which Ex-WWE Women’s Champ Locker Room Did Not Like

0

Booker T has revealed one former WWE Women’s Champion that the locker room wasn’t a fan of during her time with the company.

Recently, the two-time WWE Hall Of Famer took to his podcast “The Hall Of Fame” to discuss several professional wrestling topics. During that time, Booker touched on former WWE Women’s Champion Melina, and her time with WWE.

Booker noted “I really like Melina now,” but did admit that he “did not like Melina in her day, no one did.” This is something that has certainly been brought up by others before.

Candace Michelle once noted that she and Melina “hated each other” and almost had a shoot fight inside the ring.

Melina doesn’t get recognized as a WWE legend the way her peers such as Trish Stratus and Lita do. Booker speculates if that’s because “the departure of Melina more than anything.”

“She was one of those that owned it, she wanted to be the best in the ring and she was hell to deal with in the locker room,” Booker said.

“I think she would attest to that, perhaps, these days … And I have always said this, as far as talent go, there was nobody better than Melina.”

He then went on to explain an interaction he had with Melina, admitting she was “very controversial in WWE when she was there,” but never doubted her greatness inside of the ring.

When he got the opportunity to tell Melina that, she “almost started crying.”

“None of it had to do with her in-ring prowess or anything like that,” Booker T said in regards to Melina’s backstage heat. “… I said, ‘Melina, I always thought you were the best female wrestler in that damn locker room in your time,’ and I really believe that.”

Melina hasn’t been full-time with WWE since 2011. However, she has made sporadic appearances since then. She was a surprise entrant in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble.

Although there were rumors about her returning to the company, nothing ever came to fruition.

Cody Rhodes Set for Surgery, Potential Timeframe for Return Revealed

0

Cody Rhodes is set to undergo surgery this week for his torn pectoral muscle.

It was announced over the weekend that Rhodes had suffered an injury ahead of his Hell In A Cell match with Seth Rollins last night in Chicago.

After rumors began to circulate, WWE confirmed the news on their broadcast, claiming Rhodes partially tore the pectoral muscle during a brawl with Seth Rollins, and later fully tore it during a weight lifting session.

Despite this, Cody Rhodes still competed inside Hell In A Cell against Rollins last night in what was an all-time classic, eventually securing the victory. However, he’ll now need to undergo surgery and rehab, which will keep him sidelined for some time.

Recovery Time from Pectoral Tear Surgery

According to the Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute, the rehab process for such an injury can take anywhere from six months to a year. The first part of the rehab process consists of managing the pain and swelling and initiating a range of motion in the shoulder and arm.

Light strength training usually begins about 2 to 3 months after surgery. It can take up to a year to regain normal strength in the repaired pectoralis major.

This is a big setback for WWE, who has been priming Rhodes as their top baby face on Monday Night RAW since making his triumphant return at WrestleMania 38.

With the expected recovery time, this will likely affect WWE’s top spot for the majority of the year. All that being said, a return at WrestleMania 39 is looking like the best case scenario for “The All American Nightmare.”

Injuries seem to be running rampant in professional wrestling at the moment, as All Elite Wrestling (AEW) recently lost World Champion CM Punk to an injury that will require surgery as well.

AEW was forced to create an interim title while CM Punk works his way back up to health. We’ll keep you updated on Cody Rhodes’ injury situation as more information becomes available.

WWE Thrilled With Cody Rhodes’ Performance at Hell in a Cell

WWE appears to be in awe of Cody Rhodes following the Hell in a Cell event.

The HIAC premium live event took place this past Sunday night inside the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. In the main event, Cody Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins in a memorable Hell in a Cell match.

There was a lot of uncertainty going into the main event.

Word broke that Cody suffered a pectoral tear after WWE announced at a live event that he had been injured. The company later confirmed he completely tore the tendon off the bone.

WWE Officials Ecstatic Following HIAC

When Cody Rhodes took his entrance jacket off for the match with Seth Rollins, he revealed just how brutal-looking his injury was. He was nearly completely bruised from the pectoral to the arm.

A report from WrestlingNews.co noted that Cody was allowed to compete at Hell in a Cell because more damage wasn’t possible with a completely torn pectoral. The report mentioned that had he had a partial tear, he likely wouldn’t have been allowed to perform.

Another note from the report is WWE gave Cody the option to not wrestle but he insisted on going out there.

WrestleVotes is now reporting that WWE officials are over the moon with Cody Rhodes’ performance. Rollins is also being given his due and internally, this is considered an all-time classic in WWE history.

“I’ve had multiple sources reach out this morning w/ exemplary words for the performance Cody Rhodes put in last night. Credit to Seth Rollins as well. Those at Gorilla were said to have LOVED the match. A modern-day, all-time classic HIAC that WWE will treat as much going forward.”

Bray Wyatt Return Rumors Spark Demand in Secondary Market for WWE Hell in a Cell

WWE Hell in a Cell has come and gone, and there was no Bray Wyatt.

For some reason, rumors had been swirling that Wyatt would be making an appearance at the premium live event. “The Fiend” truthers looked for any little clue of Bray’s arrival but it was all a nothing burger.

The rumors, however, did benefit the secondary ticket market.

Bray Wyatt Rumors Spark Interest

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer is reporting that the rumors of Bray’s return boosted secondary market demand. He noted that overall, the rumors helped spark some more interest in the show.

Rumors started flying after Bray made a series of tweets ahead of HIAC. He asked fans to be patient and he hinted at being ready to make a return.

Wyatt was doing an autograph session for Legends of the Ring on Sunday afternoon. He’s booked for another autograph signing with the same group on June 11 in Iselin, NJ.

Bray was released by WWE back in late July 2021. While he’s been free to sign with anyone for months, the feeling is that Wyatt has a high asking price and has been dabbling in the world of Hollywood.

WWE References Major AEW Star During Hell in a Cell

It appears WWE referenced a big-time AEW star during the Hell in a Cell broadcast.

The general consensus online is that HIAC was a premium live event that overdelivered. The show started off with a fun triple threat match for the Raw Women’s Championship, which saw Bianca Belair retain against Asuka and Becky Lynch.

Theory and Mustafa Ali also had a good United States Title match with Theory retaining the gold.

There was also some good action featuring AJ Styles, Finn Balor, and Liv Morgan taking on The Judgment Day (Edge, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley).

Kenny Omega Reference

Then there was the main event, which won’t soon be forgotten. Cody Rhodes revealed the gnarly after-effects of his complete pectoral tear during his match with Seth Rollins.

The left side of Cody’s body from the pec to his arm was almost completely bruised. He still toughed it out and won the match.

During that match, commentator Corey Graves dropped quite the reference to AEW star Kenny Omega.

Graves described Cody’s condition as, “a fallen angel with a broken wing.”

Of course, Kenny Omega’s finishing move is the One-Winged Angel. Some may think Corey simply made a reference to the iconic Final Fantasy VII game since Cody is a video game buff.

Omega is currently dealing with a slew of injuries. He underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and was having issues with his hernia. He had also been dealing with neck problems and he isn’t close to returning to action.

WWE Announces “Injury” Update on SmackDown Superstar

WWE has given a storyline injury update on a current member of the SmackDown roster.

WWE Hell in a Cell took place inside the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on June 5. Fans witnessed Cody Rhodes gut out a completely torn pectoral to defeat Seth Rollins.

Bianca Belair successfully defended her Raw Women’s Championship against Asuka and Becky Lynch in a highly-praised opener.

There ended up being just one SmackDown match on the HIAC card and it was Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin.

Storyline Status of Happy Corbin

At the conclusion of the No Holds Barred match at Hell in a Cell, Madcap Moss got his revenge on Happy Corbin. Just as Corbin did to him, Madcap placed Corbin’s neck through a chair and crushed it.

The difference here was that Madcap used the ring steps inside of the now-destroyed Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy. Madcap picked up the pin after putting Corbin out of commission.

Corbin was stretchered out after the match.

WWE.com has provided an “injury” update on Happy Corbin.

Following the incredible beatdown he received at the hands of Madcap Moss in a brutal No Holds Barred Match during the WWE Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event, Happy Corbin was evaluated at a local medical facility on Sunday night and was released with a minor neck contusion.

Backstage Update on Cody Rhodes Being Cleared to Wrestle at WWE Hell in a Cell

Cody Rhodes was cleared to wrestle at WWE Hell in a Cell and seeing how bad his injury looked, it left many wondering why.

Fans knew something was off when Rhodes didn’t compete against Seth Rollins in a scheduled match at a house show just one night before HIAC. WWE announced to the crowd that Cody suffered an injury and he was replaced by Drew McIntyre.

After the match, Cody ran Seth off leaving many to wonder if the injury was a work.

As it turns out, the injury was very real as it was reported he had suffered a torn pectoral muscle while training. At the time, it wasn’t known if he had suffered a full tear or a partial tear.

News on Cody Rhodes Being Cleared

WWE announced on its Hell in a Cell Kickoff Show that Cody Rhodes tore his tendon completely off the bone. The company claimed at first he suffered a partial tear due to his brawl with Seth on the May 30 episode of Raw.

The company then noted Cody suffered a complete tear during a training session.

When Cody took off his entrance jacket for the match with Seth, his pec looked quite gruesome. Rhodes gutted it out and defeated Seth Rollins.

WrestlingNews.co is reporting that the reason why Cody was cleared to wrestle is that a completely torn pectoral muscle can’t get any worse. The report notes that had Cody only had a partial tear, he likely wouldn’t have been allowed to compete.

The report also mentions that WWE gave Cody the option to sit this one out but he insisted on performing.

AJ Lee Offers Advice To People Dealing With Mental Health Issues

The former Divas champion has continued spreading awareness about mental health in the society with her post-WWE work.

The former WWE star opened up about her journey and struggles on Renee Paquette’s The Sessions podcast. Speaking about how she manages her career with her illness, Lee said that it’s something you have to constantly be aware of:

Renee Paquette says AEW Needs to Spread Out which Female Wrestlers they Push

0

Renee Paquette has said that AEW needs to “spread some of that love” among the women’s division following Double or Nothing 2022.

At the event, Dr. Britt Baker won the first Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament, defeating Ruby Soho in the finals.

After the match, Baker was presented with a championship by Owen’s widow Dr. Martha Hart.

Many have criticized AEW’s decision to have Baker win, saying that the former AEW Women’s World Champion (who has the second-longest reign with the title) didn’t need the win.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Sessions, Paquette named some other stars who would benefit from AEW’s focus other than Baker.

“When Toni Storm didn’t go over Britt on their way to the tournament, and then to have Ruby also lose, it would be nice to have one of those women in that spot. Like I’m saying, Britt is f***ing great, there’s no denying that. I think she’s fantastic, I think she is head and shoulders at the top of that division, but to spread some of that love around as they’re bulking up that division, these women are stars. Toni Storm is a star, Ruby Soho is a star… she’s amazing. Kris Stantlander is on her way up as well.”

Soho and Storm teamed up to defeat Baker and Jamie Hayter on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Rhea Ripley Explains New Attire at WWE Hell in a Cell 2022

0

The Judgement Day’s Rhea Ripley showed up to fight at last night’s WWE Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event but rocked a unique look for the six-person tag-team match.

In the fourth match of the night, The Judgement Day defeated Finn Balor, AJ Styles, and Liv Morgan with Edge pinning Balor after a spear to get the win.

For the match, Ripley ditched her usual tights in favor of some trunks and wore a purple and black top that matched her The Judgement Day teammates.

On Twitter, the former Women’s Champion explained that her ring attire hadn’t arrived in time for the show and she was forced to improvise.

Ripley also said the fans are welcome for the unique look at last night’s Premium Live Event.

This isn’t the first time Rhea Ripley has had an issue with her ring attire.

In October 2021, the Australian Superstar tweeted that her in-ring gear and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title she held at the time had gone missing along with the rest of her luggage.

Ripley would go on to borrow a pair of tights, ironically from her future The Judgement Day teammate Damian Priest, and would compete later that day in El Paso, Texas.

On the night, Ripley challenged then-Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks in a match “The Queen” won.

How Long Bryan Danielson Is Expected To Stay Out Of Action

0

The injury bug has hit AEW hard. A number of top stars of the company seem to be dealing with injuries and Bryan Danielson is the latest in the spree.

The former WWE star was unable to attend a scheduled meet and greet on Sunday. The venue told people that he wasn’t able to fly due to an injury.

Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline provided some more update on the situation. He confirmed that Danielson got hurt during the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double Or Nothing.

Though the wrestling journalist has confirmed with sources that the injury is not anything serious. The American Dragon is expected to be out of action for 1 to 2 weeks.

This is a good news for AEW as this means that Bryan Danielson will be healthy and ready to compete by the Forbidden Door PPV later this month.

Although it’s a bit disappointing for fans as this injury will likely prevent the AEW star from competing in the Interim world title eliminator Battle Royal that will open this Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Danielson is not the only big AEW name dealing with injury. CM Punk announced on Friday that he will be stepping away. TNT champion Scorpio Sky also revealed that he strained a muscle during his match on Rampage.

Brandi Rhodes Reacts To Cody Rhodes’ Incredible HIAC Performance

0

Cody Rhodes not only won his Hell In A Cell match but he earned the respect of everyone watching. According to his wife Brandi Rhodes, this performance is evidence that you can do anything if you set your mind to it.

The former WWE star took on her Twitter after the PPV went off air. She said that she would use this performance from her husband as an example and inspiration for their daughter Liberty:

“Liberty better not ever tell me “I can’t”. I’m gonna have this match cued up faster than she can finish her sentence. Never imagined he would be able to finish that match…and win.”

Cody Rhodes Suffers Injury

WWE announced earlier today that Cody Rhodes had suffered an injury. It was later reported that he tore his pec while training in the gym.

Many expected the company to call off the Hell In A Cell match between him and Seth Rollins on account of the injury but the American Nightmare decided otherwise.

Not only did Cody come out to perform with a graphic-looking injury but he competed in a gruesome Hell In A Cell match and won.

The debate about whether or not the officials should have allowed him to compete in such a condition is hot among fans. There is no denying that this outing has cemented Rhodes as one of the toughest wrestlers of the current generation.

What Happened After WWE Hell in a Cell Went Off The Air

WWE Hell in a Cell has wrapped up and fans got to see one-half of the main event give a passionate speech.

The premium live event took place inside Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on June 5. In the main event, Cody Rhodes took on Seth Rollins inside the Hell in a Cell structure.

There was a lot of chatter going into this match and it had to do with Cody Rhodes’ injury. One night before the event, it was announced at a live show that “The American Nightmare” was injured.

Reports surfaced revealing that Cody suffered a pectoral tear but the severity of the injury wasn’t known. WWE ended up announcing that Rhodes tore the tendon completely off the bone.

Cody Rhodes Addresses Crowd

Cody Rhodes gutted out the injury and wrestled as advertised. His right pectoral muscle looked gruesome but his performance remained on point.

He pinned Rollins after delivering two straight Cross Rhodes’ followed by a sledgehammer shot.

Twitter user Sawyer Carr was in attendance and he captured footage of Cody addressing the crowd once the cameras stopped rolling.

Here’s another look at what happened after Hell in a Cell, via @ManyFacedHeel:

Cody Rhodes Beats Seth Rollins At WWE Hell In A Cell

0

The third and final match in the feud between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rolins ended with them meeting inside the Hell in a Cell Structure at the themed event.

As previously reported, Rhodes entered the match with a torn pec that he suffered while lifting weights. He’s expected to be sidelined anywhere from six months to a year once getting surgery.

The match was saved for the main event. Despite the injury looking nasty, Cody pushed through the pain and that was the story of the match. Rollins wore polka dots tights, a mental edge as Dusty Rhodes wore them during his WWE run. Rollins missed a frog splash off the top rope through a table.

Cody pulled out a bullrope and they tied it to their wrists. Cody with a superkick then hit him with the bell for 2. Cody with the crossrhodes for 2. Rollins powerbombed him in the corner through a table. Cody hit the pedigree for a near fall. Rollins with the crossrhodes, but then Cody hit one of his own. The finish saw Cody hit two crossrhodes then hit him in the face with the sledgehammer.

On the May 16th edition of Raw, Rhodes issued the challenge to Rollins as a response to Rollins attacking Rhodes during his United States title match with Theory on the previous week’s episode of Raw. Once Rhodes made the challenge Rollins started laughing at him before accepting it.

Rhodes made his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in April where he beat Rollins and then won the rematch at WrestleMania Backlash on May 8.

PIC: Cody Rhodes’ Pectoral Injury Looks Gruesome

The after-effects of Cody Rhodes’ pectoral injury are nothing short of gnarly.

In the main event of WWE Hell in a Cell, Cody went one-on-one with Seth Rollins. Ahead of the match, it was reported that Cody suffered a pectoral tear but the extent of the injury wasn’t known.

WWE later announced that Cody tore the tendon completely off the bone.

Cody stuck to the plan to wrestle against Seth Rollins and it was clear to many immediately that his arm did not look right.

Here is what Cody’s arm is looking like at the moment:

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio later noted that WWE did not put makeup on Cody to make things look worse.

This is legit.

“That’s not makeup on Cody, that’s really life full pec tear and what it looks like so soon after.”

WWE Superstar Busted Open Badly at Hell in a Cell (Video)

A WWE superstar suffered a nasty cut at the conclusion of his match.

WWE Hell in a Cell took place inside Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The premium live event got started with a banger as Bianca Belair successfully defended the Raw Women’s Championship against Asuka and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match.

The show also featured a mixed six-person tag team match with AJ Styles, Finn Balor, and Liv Morgan taking on Edge, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley.

AJ Styles Leaks Blood

The Judgment Day ended up winning the match but fans noticed a doctor was checking on someone on the outside. Both Styles and Priest were on the outside but it ended up being Styles who was hurt.

Styles was busted open badly, seemingly from a spot where Edge threw him in a corner and he fell to the floor.

Here is footage of Styles’ bloody affair courtesy of Fiending For Followers.

Theory Retains United States Title At WWE Hell In A Cell

0

Theory put his WWE United States Title on the line in a match against Mustafa Ali at the Hell In A Cell event in Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL.

The bout was the co-main event of the evening. Theory heeled it up early. Ali tripped him in the corner, but was tossed off the top rope to the floor. Ali planted him with a DDT and went to the top rope, but missed his fisher and Theory hit his for the win.

The match was announced this past Monday night on Raw after Ali faced Tommaso Ciampa where Ali could earn a future United States title shot if he won. Ali ended up winning by disqualification when Theory attacked him. Post-match, Theory said they should just have their title match on this show and Theory continued the attack during the break. Ali chose to fight on despite being hurt. Theory retained after hitting the ATL on Ali.

After that match, Adam Pearce made his way out to tell Theory that even though Vince McMahon was impressed with Theory’s tactics, McMahon has booked a rematch for Hell in a Cell.

This feud started after Ali had returned to WWE TV last month. Ali had been away from WWE TV for several months and even had publicly requested to be released from his WWE contract in January.

NJPW Announces Kota Ibushi’s Punishment

0

Kota Ibushi remains with New Japan Pro Wrestling and has not been fired, but he is being punished for being vocal about his issues with the promotion of late via social media.

Ibushi has stated that was going to expose the “cheaters-gun and sexually harassing bosses.” He also shared conversations between himself and New Japan higher up Yusuke Kikuchi.

One included a conversation with Kikuchi about him returning from a shoulder injury he suffered in the G1 Climax Final last August. Ibushi called the company out for abusing its power because they wanted him to return before he felt ready.  He also shared that Kikuchi chewed him out for making an appearance at a Just Tap Out event where Kikuchi indicated that NJPW could potentially release Ibushi because his appearance was a breach of his exclusive contract.

He wants his release from the company and he doesn’t feel he can go back following his recent comments.

NJPW Reveals Ibushi’s Punishment

NJPW sent out the following statement on Sunday night

“During a press conference on May 27 2022 regarding events concerning Kota Ibushi and a member of NJPW staff (henceforth “The Official”), it was announced that both Mr. Ibushi and The Official would be subject to penalties as a result of their actions. Upon consideration, these penalties have been determined, and in the interest of transparency, are outlined below.

KOTA IBUSHI: A ten percent (10%) reduction in pay for the three month period between July and September 2022 as a result of a breach of contract.

Representative Director TAKAMI OHBARI: A ten percent (10%) reduction in pay for the three month period between July and September 2022 as a result of executive responsibility.

THE OFFICIAL: A ten percent (10%) reduction in pay for the three month period between July and September 2022, as well as a transfer to a different position as a result of inappropriate comments toward a wrestler representing a breach of duty.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling would like to once again apologise for the concern and inconvenience caused by these events, and humbly ask for your continued support.”

Bianca Belair Retains Raw Women’s Title At WWE Hell In A Cell

0

Bianca Belair put her WWE Raw Women’s Title on the line in a triple threat match against Asuka and Becky Lynch at the Hell In A Cell event in Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL.

The match opened the show and saw Lynch get double teamed by the babyfaces. Lynch hit a leg drop off the top rope for 2 on Belair. Belair with a standing moonsault on both stars. Lynch with man handle slam to Belair for 2 as Asuka broke up the pin attempt. The finish saw Lynch hit the hit man handle slam to Asuka and Belair tossed Lynch to the floor then pinned Asuka.

Originally, Naomi was slated to be Belair’s opponent at this event as she was planned to win the six-pack challenge on Raw a few weeks ago, but once Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out, WWE had to change plans. Asuka ended up beating Lynch to become the #1 contender to the title.

On the May 23rd Raw, Lynch was added to the bout after defeating Asuka in a match where she would be added to the Hell in a Cell card if she won. She earned the win in that bout when Asuka went for a kick that missed Lynch and hit Belair, which allowed Lynch to get the victory.

Lynch talked her way into the bout with Asuka as she was unhappy about the loss and claimed that Asuka cheated so Adam Pearce gave her the bout.

Time will tell whether WWE continues this feud or goes into a different direction heading into the Money in the Bank event next month

What are your thoughts on Bianca Belair retaining the Raw Women’s Title? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

Juice Robinson Not Expected To Work NJPW Dominion, Ace Austin Responds

0

Juice Robinson is not expected to work the June 10th NJPW Dominion pay-per-view.

The NJPW superstar and current IWGP U.S. Champion was unable to compete at Friday’s Best of the Super Junior finals due to a battle with appendicitis. Despite being was announced for Dominion a new report has surfaced revealing that the new Bullet Club member will be unable to compete at the show, where he was set to defend the title in a triple threat against Will Ospreay and SANADA.

According to Wrestling Inc., Juice is not expected to be recovered from his appendicitis, and his match will no longer be on the card. New Japan has yet to officially confirm this news, but it apears to be accurate as IMPACT star and current reigning X-Division champion Ace Austin, who just competed for NJPW in the BOSJ tournament, tweeted out that they should replace the U.S. title match with an X-Division title match.

Austin, who also just joined Bullet Club, writes, “If Juice can’t defend at Dominion maybe there should be an X Division title match instead I’m willing to defend my title & my spot in Ultimate X at #Slammiversary.”

We’ll keep you updated on Juice’s condition. See Austin’s tweet below.

WWE Provides Update on Cody Rhodes’ Injury

WWE has given an update on the injury Cody Rhodes has suffered.

Rhodes is expected to go one-on-one with Seth Rollins at the Hell in a Cell premium live event on June 5. Just one night before the event, WWE announced during a house show that Cody suffered an injury.

This blew up plans to have him face Rollins in their final live event match before HIAC. Cody did end up appearing at the house show to chase Rollins off.

It was later reported that the injury wasn’t a work and that Cody potentially suffered a torn pectoral, although the extent of the tear hadn’t been known.

Cody Rhodes Update

During the WWE Hell in a Cell Kickoff Show, Kayla Braxton revealed that Cody first suffered the injury during his brawl with Seth Rollins on the May 30 episode of Monday Night Raw.

She then said Cody aggravated the injury during training.

Braxton then announced that Cody tore his tendon “off the bone.” Despite the injury, Rhodes will still meet Rollins inside Hell in a Cell.

It’s been said that WWE has spent all day making changes to the Rhodes vs. Seth match.

Bianca Belair defended the RAW Women’s Championship against Asuka and Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat match to begin Hell in a Cell. Becky shoved both superstars to start off the match and started trash talking. Becky tried to run away but Asuka tripped her up and Belair followed it up with a shoulder tackle that knocked Big Time Becks to the outside.

Asuka and Belair circled each other before locking up in the middle of the ring. Asuka connected with a Neckbreaker but Becky Lynch sent the Empress of Tomorrow out of the ring. Becky climbed to the top rope but the RAW Women’s Champion sent her to the mat with a big Body Slam for a two count.

Belair hit a Dropkick but Becky responded with a kick of her own. Asuka leaped off of Belair’s back into a Dropkick on Becky. Asuka followed it up with a Clothesline on Belair and a Bulldog on Becky Lynch. Belair battled back and went for the KOD but Asuka escaped and went for the Asuka Lock. Bianca showed off her power and countered into a Buckle Bomb.

Lynch slammed Asuka into the ring post and she tumbled out of the ring. Becky hit a Natural Selection for a two count and started yelling at the crowd for booing her.
