Becky Lynch Confronted By Hall of Famer on Raw After SummerSlam Victory

Becky Lynch has a new challenger.

The Man defended her Women’s IC Title against Lyra Valkyria at SummerSlam this past weekend in a No DQ match. The champion managed to retain the title after Bayley inadvertently hit Lyra, while trying to help the young star.

The IC Champion, who also debuted a new theme at SummerSlam, then came out to boast about her victory on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Her promo was interrupted by a returning Nikki Bella. The WWE Hall of Famer questioned Lynch’s motives for returning to the company.

Becky Lynch Gets Personal With Nikki Bella

The promo quickly got personal with Becky mocking the fellow veteran for her role in Happy Gilmore 2 getting cut and her split with ex-boyfriend John Cena. Bella in return called Becky a liar and broke out the Yes! chants made famous by her brother-in-law, Bryan Danielson.

Nikki Bella then suggested that Becky Lynch put the IC title on the line against her in a one-on-one match but The Champ delivered a cheap shot to the former champion before walking off.

This wasn’t the last of Becky we saw during the show as she was confronted by Natalya, Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa backstage. Nattie challenged her to a match. Lynch accepted the bout for next week’s Raw, but against Dupri.

Seth Rollins opened this week’s episode of the Red Branded show from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. This came after the Architect cashed in his MITB contract on CM Punk at SummerSlam to win the World Heavyweight Championship, after faking a knee injury.

The Visionary cut a promo before being interrupted by LA Knight. Knight had not been seen on TV since his Saturday Night’s Main Event match against Rollins. LA challenged the World Champ to a title match. Seth first declined the challenge but Adam Pearce later made it official, banning both Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker from the ringside for the bout.

The match that was the main event of the show continued uninterrupted, that was until CM Punk showed up. The Straight Edge star went right after the world champ, causing a disqualification.

What Happened After Raw

Knight tried to pull Punk off Seth, but the former AEW star kept going until Bron Breakker came outta nowhere with a spear. Big Bronson Reed also appeared and the faction now known as The Vision beat both Knight and Punk down.

Roman Reigns was the final name to come out, and he got the upper hand on the group at the start. The numbers proved too much in the end, however. Bronson Reed then once again stole Reigns’ shoes after delivering multiple Tsunamis.

The show ended with The Vision posing in the ring, and the group left the arena soon afterward. LA Knight was still angry with Punk and the two continued arguing after the show went off air. Roman Reigns meanwhile refused help from the officials and left after getting up slowly.

It’s raining El Grande Americano on Raw.

After Chad Gable suffered a shoulder injury in June, Ludwig Kaiser took over the character. He has even made appearances in Mexico for WWE as El Grande.

A new twist came to this story at last week’s episode of the Monday Night show, however, when a second El Grande Americano appeared to help Judgment Day in their tag title match against LWO.

This week’s episode of the Red Branded show then featured a singles match between Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee. This came after Mysterio successfully defended his IC title over AJ Styles at SummerSlam.

A Third El Grande Americano?

Lee had the control of the match towards the ending, and he delivered a double stomp to Dominik. Before he could capitalize, the two El Grande Americanos appeared to distract the Luchador.

As Dragon Lee cleared the house of the two masked attackers, a third El Grande Americano appeared outta nowhere and delivered a cheap shot to the Mexican star before hiding from the referee’s view.

This allowed Dirty Dom to hit a Lateral Press, and he then pinned Lee using the ropes for advantage. Though AJ Styles came out to make the save for the LWO member before Mysterio could hurt him any more.

It’s unknown what the game plan is for the Masked character, but the appearance of these new figures has definitely got the fans intrigued.

While much of the wrestling world has been paying tribute to the late Hulk Hogan, WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart has shared a very different and sharply critical perspective. In a new podcast appearance, Hart was brutally honest about his long-standing personal and professional issues with the wrestling icon.

Hogan passed away last month at the age of 71, and in the weeks since, legends and fans have shared overwhelmingly positive memories. Speaking on The Ringer Wrestling Podcast, Hart offered a stark and controversial counter-narrative.

Bret Hart accused Hulk Hogan of being a selfish performer who was only ever concerned with his own spot. He contrasted Hogan with other legends like “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, who Hart said went out of their way to help elevate other talent.

“Hulk Hogan never did that for anybody. He never looked out for anyone but himself,” Hart stated.

He recalled the moment he won his first WWE Championship in 1992. He had hoped for a congratulatory word from the man who had been the face of the company for a decade. Instead, Hart says Hogan immediately saw him as a threat. “The second I won the belt, I was the enemy. And I had what he wanted, and we were never really friends again after that.”

The animosity between Hart and Hogan is one of the most famous backstage stories in wrestling history. It is primarily rooted in a planned “passing of the torch” match that never took place. The original plan for the main event of SummerSlam 1993 was for the returning Hulk Hogan to lose the WWE Championship to Bret Hart, who was the new face of the company’s “New Generation.”

According to Hart and many wrestling historians, Hogan used his backstage influence and refused to lose to the smaller, more technical Hart. He instead dropped the title to Yokozuna at the King of the Ring event and left the company shortly after, a move Hart has never forgiven him for.

Hart also claimed that Hogan actively worked to hold him down when they were both in WCW in the late 1990s. He said that Hogan used his creative control to ensure Hart was never a top priority in the company.

“I will always shake my head and wonder why he was such a roadblock for me,” Hart said. “He made sure… that they didn’t do anything with me. Just leave him. Have him sit on the bench in the dressing room.”

The English-born superstar has already begun what she calls her “glamour revolution” in NXT, starting with her makeover of Jordan Grace. “I feel like I’m upgrading NXT, making it a lot more glamorous, but I pretty much take over any show that I’m on. So, you can expect NXT to become much more glamorous, which is what I said in my debut.”

Monroe’s strategy appears two-pronged: eliminate the Fatal Influence threat while positioning herself as the division’s next top contender. “My goal is to make NXT all about the glamour. I know that we have the North American title, we have the women’s title, and I have my eye firmly on both. But right now, my primary goal is dealing with fatal influence.”

R-Truth has revealed some behind-the-scene details of his WWE return promo.

The Attitude Era star made his WWE return at the Money In The Bank PPV in June, only days after being released by the company. He did a promo on the following Raw, cutting his hair in front of the fans and adapting a more serious persona.

The former NWA World Champion talked about this promo during a recent interview with Ringer Wrestling. He revealed that only Triple H knew about the segment, and even he only found out about it on the day of the show:

“Nobody knew about it except, I asked Triple H that day. He did a double take, ‘What did you say?’ It’s business. That was my trademark. Life is all about, we live, we learn, we evolve and adapt. ‘That’s your trademark. Why do you want to do it?’ I said, ‘It’s time.’”

It Had To Be Done: R-Truth

R-Truth mentioned that he didn’t like the way his hair looked during his interview with Chris Van Vliet a couple months earlier. That’s when he first realized that he had to change his look:

“It had to be done to prepare me for where I want to be at mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally. It was time. I was going bald anyway [Laughs]. I was going bald. Now, we’re going to flip it, this is Ron Killings. R-Truth has been nice to y’all.”

The 53-year-old attacked John Cena after his return and the two had a rematch which ended in DQ. R-Truth started a feud with Aleister Black after this and he has also wrestled Dominik Mysterio on live events.

Jade Cargill has shared a story about an uncomfortable “horror story” experience from a meet and greet, detailing an incident where a fan repeatedly asked her to spit on him, forcing her to call security.

While speaking on the Rory & Mal show, Cargill was asked about her most interesting fan interactions. She recalled one incident where a fan took his requests too far, making her feel extremely uncomfortable.

“There was a lot of men that legit wanted me to like punch him and step on them, and like one guy wanted me to spit on him. It was the weirdest thing, and I felt so uncomfortable,” Cargill said. “But this guy wanted me to spit on him, degrade him, stomp on him, and I had on heels, and I was just like, this is the weirdest.”

Cargill explained that the fan was persistent with his request, even after she tried to play along with a photo op. His behavior escalated to the point where she had to end the interaction.

“He was like, ‘just spit on me’ like quick, quick, like loud, and I was like ‘security!’, like this is not it,” she recalled. “I had to take like a minute because it was such like a weird feeling and vibe because even when he got up, he was like, just grabbing my leg to like climb up. It was odd.”

WWE maintained Brock Lesnar as one of their highest-paid performers throughout his recent absence while facing legal issues, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter‘s Dave Meltzer.

The Beast Incarnate was never suspended and remained under full contract during the period when he was absent from WWE programming. Meltzer’s report reveals that Lesnar continued receiving his substantial compensation despite not appearing on television.

“Brock Lesnar was still, even though not used, fully paid during that time period (of his absence) and was among the highest paid wrestlers in the company,” Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. “He was never suspended, and obviously kept under contract. If what he did was going to end their relationship with him, he’d have been let go. That’s the reality.”

The report suggests WWE’s financial commitment to Lesnar indicated their confidence in his eventual return. Rather than cutting ties or suspending the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, the company maintained his lucrative deal while legal matters were resolved.

According to Meltzer, Lesnar received legal clearance approximately one month before his return, though this information was kept confidential. “He was always going to return when legal cleared him. Legal cleared him about one month prior to the show, which was kept secret, and allowed for the return.”

The revelation provides insight into WWE’s handling of talent during legal controversies. By maintaining Lesnar’s contract and compensation, the company demonstrated their belief that the situation would be resolved favorably.

Lesnar’s absence from WWE programming had sparked speculation about his future with the company. However, Meltzer’s report indicates WWE never considered the situation career-ending, maintaining their investment in one of their most prominent stars throughout the legal process.

WWE veteran Randy Orton has weighed in on the new “WWE: Unreal” docuseries on Netflix, sharing his mixed feelings about the show’s unprecedented look behind the scenes and admitting that the “old school” part of him “doesn’t love it.”

Speaking on the Maggie and Perloff Show, “The Viper” explained his internal conflict with shows that pull back the curtain on the wrestling business. He noted that while he understands the need to evolve, a part of him misses the mystique.

“The old school in me doesn’t love it. But, I had to learn over the last few years especially, you gotta change with the times,” Orton said. “But, there’s a part of me that also misses just the magic. When I was a kid, the number one thing that people would ask my father and kids at school would ask me, ‘Is it real? Is it real?’”

Orton acknowledged that he understands the appeal of the docuseries for a modern audience that is curious about the inner workings of WWE. He said that while he doesn’t personally “love the idea,” he finds it “intriguing.”

“I think there’s a large amount of fans out there that are very curious and they want to know behind the scenes and how we do what we do and make it look so effortless,” he stated. “My job is to go out there in that ring and get you to kind of suspend your belief… and make you believe that what you’re seeing, that there’s real emotion behind it.”

All Elite Wrestling announced today that Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey will host AEW Full Gear on Saturday, November 22, 2025. The event will air live worldwide on pay-per-view, marking the third time the venue has hosted this marquee event.

Dominik Mysterio wasn’t fazed by AJ Styles’ attempt at mind games.

The Judgment Day member defended his IC title against the Phenomenal One at night 2 of SummerSlam. Both contestants paid tribute to the classic 2005 ladder match between Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero by wearing their respective colors.

The IC Champion was asked about AJ wearing the colors of his role model while appearing on the SummerSlam post-show. Dominik claimed that stuff like this does not affect him at all:

“You know, I know he was trying to play mind games with me because of my alleged father. But what he doesn’t know is that stuff like that doesn’t get to me. I’m Dirty Dom, I’ve been playing here… I’m as homegrown as it gets.”

AJ Styles finally got to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the IC title at SummerSlam, after the later avoided the bout for weeks due to a rib injury. Mysterio tried to use Eddie Guerrero’s chair trick to get AJ disqualified but Styles saved himself by pretending to be hit as well.

The former WWE champion then grabbed Dirty Dom’s leg for the Calf Killer submission but the IC Champ slipped out of his boot. AJ ended up accidentally hitting the referee and Dom used the spare boot to finally get the upper hand on his opponent and retain the title.

Despite being one of WWE’s most hated heels for years, Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio has started to receive more cheers from the fans. In a new interview with Bleacher Report, Mysterio addressed the changing crowd reactions and discussed the possibility of a future babyface turn.

“Dirty Dom” acknowledged that while he is still mostly booed, he has noticed fans chanting along with his theme song, which he admits is a funny experience after being booed for so long.

“You know, I react to what is being given to me, right? And as of now, they’ve been booing me, but every now and then, they’ll chant that Dirty Dom song,” he said. “And that Dirty Dom song, for one way or another, it always gets a crack out of me and I tend to break and smile because it’s funny hearing everyone singing it together — because I’ve just been getting booed for years.”

When asked if this growing support could lead to him embracing a babyface role, Mysterio was non-committal. He stated that he hasn’t changed anything about his character and that any potential turn would have to happen naturally.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever embrace it ’cause I haven’t changed anything about myself. I’ve just been Dirty Dom all the way,” he explained. “We’ll have to wait and see… it’s got to be organic. You can’t force anything. Can’t force it.”

Mysterio’s comments on his character come just one night after a major victory at the SummerSlam premium live event. On Night Two of the show from MetLife Stadium, “Dirty Dom” successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship against “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, securing one of the biggest wins of his career. Becky Lynch has a new theme.

The Women’s IC Champion had teased a collaboration with the band The Wonder Years ahead of her scheduled title defence at SummerSlam PPV.

The tease proved to be about a new WWE theme as The Man debuted her new entrance music during night two of the latest WWE PLE:

Becky Lynch had been using the ‘Celtic Invasion’ theme by former WWE music producers CFO$ for the last 10 years. With this new theme, she has managed to avoid a theme by Def Rebel, who took over the WWE music production in 2019.

The IC Champion defended her title against Lyra Valkyria in a No DQ match at the show. The defending champion used every weapon she could think of on her opponent, but Valkyria showed great courage and survived all the punishment.

Bayley showed up at the ringside towards the end to stop Becky from using a crowbar on her opponent. Unfortunately for Lyra, Bayley ended up hitting her accidentally while trying to hit Becky. It allowed the Man to retain the title.

As per the match stipulation, Lyra Valkyria now cannot challenge for the IC title again as long as Lynch is the champion. It’s possible we’ll see her feuding with Bayley in coming times.

The SummerSlam PPV featured an unexpected fight, though not between wrestlers.

The company presented the first ever two-night SummerSlam event from MetLife Stadium this week, with both the nights ending on completely unexpected notes.

One of the most surprising moments of weekend however, was completely unplanned. The moment came during Solo Sikoa’s entrance on night two, when a fight broke out between two women in the crowd:

Solo Sikoa defended his United States Championship against former teammate Jacob Fatu in a steel cage match at the show. The trio of JC Mateo, Talla Tonga, and Tonga Loa showed up towards the ending of the bout to help Solo.

Jimmy Uso then came out to even the odds but his support proved to be inadequate. Solo Sikoa retained the title by escaping the cage in the end, after Talla Tonga smashed the cage door into Fatu’s face.

Jimmy Uso attacked Mateo after the match and threw him into the steel cage. Jimmy put Loa with him and Jacob Fatu ended the segment with a Moonsault off the cage on his opponents.
