Karl Anderson Provides Update On His Recovery From Surgery

0

Karl Anderson revealed in November that he underwent surgery, sidelining him for the foreseeable future. Speaking on Talk N Shop, Anderson confirmed the procedure was necessary to repair a torn rotator cuff tendon and a partially torn labrum.

The injury initially occurred during a match, but Anderson didn’t think much of it until it worsened during another match the following week. After competing in three or four more matches, the pain became unbearable, causing sleepless nights due to constant aching and throbbing. At the time, Anderson estimated his recovery would take six to nine months.

Providing a recent update on Talk N Shop, Anderson shared, “I’m at home now, obviously with my injured shoulder. I am out indefinitely for at least six or seven more months with a torn rotator cuff and a torn labrum. The labrum…I think before you wondered if that was an old injury, and I have to say, it was not. It’s coming back. I’m able to [move] a little,” he explained.

Anderson, one half of the tag team The OC alongside Luke Gallows, has been absent from television since the September 24 episode of NXT, where they lost to Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. The duo later appeared in a dark match at an NXT event in Chicago the following week.

Nikki Cross Escapes Scarlett’s Stinkface With Butt Bite At WWE MSG

0

Nikki Cross pulled off quite the unique counter when she battled Scarlett during a recent eight-person tag-team match. At WWE’s Boxing Day live event in Madison Square Garden, Cross and the Wyatt Sicks answered the open challenge made by the Final Testament. When Scarlett sought to add insult to injury by delivering a stinkface, Cross bit back, literally, by sinking her teeth on the buttocks of the ‘Smokeshow.’

This match was certainly one to remember for Scarlett, who currently boasts a 5-7 record in WWE matches. Despite her team’s loss, the event held personal significance for her, as it coincided with the 15th anniversary of her debut in pro wrestling.

Find Out What Else Happened At WWE’s December 26 Live Event in MSG

While Scarlett has yet to go one-on-one with Nikki Cross on TV, fans won’t be surprised if Scarlett wears some extra padding going forward, lest Cross decides to take another bite out of her posterior.

John Cena and Cody Rhodes Poised for WrestleMania 41 Showdown?

0

With John Cena’s impending retirement looming in 2025, speculation about his final WrestleMania match has dominated discussions among fans and insiders alike. Cena’s farewell tour, which officially kicks off on January 6th with the WWE Raw Netflix premiere, has fueled rumors about who will share the ring with the WWE legend in Las Vegas for WrestleMania 41.

Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena: WWE’s Current Plan

According to a new report from PWInsider, the most likely scenario for Cena’s last WrestleMania involves him facing Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship. This aligns with earlier speculation by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, where he noted that WWE had discussed Cena competing for a world title as part of his farewell storyline. Rhodes vs. Cena has reportedly been a hot topic backstage, with multiple sources confirming that the matchup is being heavily considered.

Cody Rhodes and John Cena
Cody Rhodes and John Cena would be a huge match for WrestleMania 41

However, as is often the case in WWE, plans are far from finalized. One insider joked about the possibility of The Rock entering the picture, playfully referring to him “descending from Mountain Rock” to challenge either Cena or Rhodes. If The Rock were to express interest, it’s expected that creative plans would be reworked to accommodate the Hollywood megastar.

Logan Paul and Other Contenders

While Logan Paul had been rumored as a potential WrestleMania opponent for Cena, recent updates suggest that WWE officials were not fully behind the idea of Paul being Cena’s final WrestleMania rival. Instead, WWE seems intent on positioning Cena’s last Mania match as a monumental showdown, fitting for a star of his stature. Paul, along with names like Grayson Waller, Carmelo Hayes, and CM Punk, has publicly expressed interest in wrestling Cena, but the likelihood of these matchups occurring at WrestleMania 41 now appears slim.

John Cena’s Life Advice for Logan Paul Applies to All of Us

John Cena, Randy Orton, WrestleMania
The final John Cena vs. Randy Orton match is WrestleMania-worthy

Another intriguing possibility comes from Randy Orton, who has also voiced his desire to share the ring with Cena one final time. Given their storied history as rivals and their status as two of WWE’s most iconic figures, an Orton vs. Cena match at WrestleMania would carry significant emotional weight. While Orton’s name has not been heavily linked to Cena’s farewell plans thus far, the prospect remains a compelling option if WWE decides to lean into their shared legacy.

Randy Orton Wants Final Match with John Cena “Maybe at WrestleMania”

Cena’s Record-Breaking World Title Pursuit

One intriguing aspect of Cena’s retirement tour is the potential for him to chase a 17th world title, breaking Ric Flair’s longstanding record of 16 reigns. While nothing has been confirmed, Meltzer’s report indicates that this scenario is still on the table, adding an extra layer of significance to Cena’s final months as an active competitor.

As of now, all signs point to Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena as WWE’s tentative plan for WrestleMania 41, though the landscape could shift dramatically if The Rock decides to get involved. With the Royal Rumble and Cena’s farewell tour on the horizon, the coming weeks promise to provide more clarity on WWE’s creative direction for Cena’s swan song.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest updates on John Cena’s 2025 retirement tour, including his WWE Raw Netflix premiere on January 6, and all the breaking news on the road to WrestleMania 41.

WWE Commended for Honoring Legends with Respect

0

As the world’s largest wrestling promotion, WWE has been home to countless legends, many of whom still make sporadic appearances. Mark Henry posted a video on X to share a thoughtful gesture from WWE. He revealed receiving a New Year’s card addressed to the “legends that paved the way.”

Moved by the sentiment, Henry remarked, “Sometimes, a pat on the back is all you need.”

This gesture signals progress in WWE’s relationship with its legendary talents, which drummed up controversy not too long ago. In 2021, Mickie James received her personal belongings in a trash bag following her release, a move that drew widespread outrage. The incident prompted an apology from WWE and the dismissal of Mark Carrano, the former Senior Director of Talent Relations.

WWE currently has several names from wrestling’s past on ‘Legends Contracts,’ demonstrating the company’s respect for those who have paved the way. In 2024 alone, several major names, including Ken Shamrock, Mick Foley, Rob Van Dam, and ‘Diamond’ Dallas Page all confirmed that they are under Legends Contracts.

Jesse Ventura Shares Details Of Newly-Signed WWE Legends Deal

As for Henry, he exited AEW in May of this year and has since found himself back on WWE TV, appearing on Raw in August alongside his son Jacob. It’s unclear when Henry will next appear for WWE, but the gesture shared with him this week demonstrates that WWE is always ready to recognize the work of its legends.

Adam Cole Comments On AEW’s Partnership With Costco Guys

0

Adam Cole believes the Costco Guys partnership is important for AEW.

The Costco Guys partnership has led to AEW getting a lot of promotion outside of their usual circles. The social media stars have not only promoted their AEW appearances on their own channels but they have also been invited to mainstream platforms like Fox Business and The Tonight Show to talk about their wrestling connection.

The Undisputed Kingdom Leader was asked about this partnership during a new interview with Going Ringside podcast. Adam Cole explained that such collaboration helps them get the word out to people who have never watched their product:

“Getting your eyes out there to as many people as possible is so important. Because again of course. the diehard wrestling fans are going to find wrestling. That’s exactly the way I was. I went out of my way to wherever wrestling was on.

Wherever I could watch it, I would support it. So getting the attention of fans who maybe haven’t watched it for a while or never seen it before [is important]. I truly do believe that someone who has not seen AEW before and watching it for the first time will walk away saying ‘Man, that was a lot of fun.'”

Big Boom A.J. of The Costco Guys wrestled his first match in 19 years at Full Gear, defeating QT Marshall at the show. The former indie star suffered a foot injury in the bout but he has since confirmed that he’s not done with the company just yet.

Apart from this, Cole also talked about his ongoing storyline with MJF. He said that his goal in 2025 after finishing the feud with his former tag team partner is to win the AEW World Title. Adam Cole will be challenging MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring at the Worlds End PPV this weekend on December 28 from Orlando, Florida.

Amanda Huber And More Pay Tribute To Brodie Lee On Anniversary of His Passing

0

Amanda Huber shared an emotional tribute for her late husband Brodie Lee on the 4th anniversary of his sudden passing.

Huber posted a photo of Lee with their sons mentioning how she can’t believe that it’s been 4 years since the day they had to say goodbye.

She noted how it feels like only yesterday when the late wrestling star was with us. Amanda, who works behind the scenes in AEW now, expressed her grief at Brodie not being able to see the growth of their kids:

“I looked back on pictures of the boys 4 years ago. How they look exactly the same while also looking so different.  I’m so proud of the men they are growing into. I feel so privileged I get to watch them grow up. I’m so angry that he’s gone. That he doesn’t get to see them grow up.”

Amanda Huber was not the only one who paid tribute to the former TNT Champion. Both Seth Rollins and The Wyatt Sicks remembered the late star in their own way during the latest WWE Live Event from Madison Square Garden:

Lee, formerly known as Luke Harper in WWE joined AEW in March, 2020, after getting his release from the Endeavor-owned promotion in December 2019.

Homicide On ROH Homecoming: It’s A Blessing, I Built This Company

Ring of Honor veteran Homicide has expressed his gratitude and excitement following his recent return to the promotion after several years away. The former ROH World Champion teamed up with Rocky Romero on a recent episode of ROH TV to secure a victory over QT Marshall and Aaron Solo.

When Ring of Honor’s camera crew caught up with Homicide, the wrestling veteran reflected on his return.

“It’s a blessing. It’s overwhelming. I’m teaming with my boy, we’ve got The Rottweilers back… I came back home.”

Homicide also highlighted his pivotal role in ROH’s history, reminding fans of his contributions alongside some of the promotion’s other iconic names:

“I built this company way back in the days. Everyone talking about Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan, my buddy Phil from Chicago [CM Punk] but that’s a different story. But I built this. I brought the violence in this company!”

Homicide’s return marks his first appearance in ROH since his match at Final Battle 2021, which was the last event before Tony Khan acquired the promotion in early 2022. His illustrious career in ROH includes ending Bryan Danielson’s legendary 14-month reign as World Champion in 2006.

Gage Goldberg Comments On Bret Hart’s Long Grudge Against His Father

0

Gage Goldberg believes Bret Hart needs to let things go.

We recently passed the 25th anniversary of Hart’s infamous Starrcade 1999 match with Bill Goldberg on December 19. Even after all these years, The Hitman continues to resent the heavyweight star for the ‘career-ending’ kick he received in the bout.

The son of the former Universal Champion was asked about Bret’s continued animosity towards his dad in a new interview with Wrestle Binge. Gage said that things happen in life but you have to learn to let them go:

“I mean, we don’t really like to talk about that a lot. You gotta let things go, 100%. You can’t just keep harping on this one thing when someone is successful. Stuff happens,”

Best One I’ve Seen: Gage Goldberg

Gage Goldberg was also asked about his favorite match of his father. The 18-year-old picked his Survivor Series 2016 encounter with Brock Lesnar where the WCW veteran defeated the Beast Incarnate in 1 minute 25 seconds:

“I’d say in person, his best match was against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. That one was the most exhilarating. It was the best one I’ve seen. It was just [amazing].

He was killing him with that spear. Just to see him kill Brock Lesnar in that soon of a time. Cause Brock Lesnar is a badass. He’s [one] of the coolest guys in WWE of all time for sure.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the college Football star also discussed the possibility of entering the wrestling business himself. He noted how wrestling would be a cool career but he’s currently focused on Football.

0

Tay Melo is set to return to action after almost 2 years.

STARDOM in Japan announced earlier today that the AEW star will be competing at their upcoming New Year Dream show, scheduled for Friday, January 3, 2025.

The female star then posted a video on Twitter further confirming her in ring return. She got emotional while talking about her comeback:

“After two long years, I’m finally back. I could not ask for a better Christmas gift. I’m going to Japan, I’m going to STARDOM and I’m not going alone. I’m bringing my little Mia with me.”

Melo last wrestled on March 11, 2023, during an indie event. She teamed up with her husband Sammy Guevara at the show, picking up a victory over Encore & Tiara James.

The Brazilian pro wrestler went on a hiatus after announcing pregnancy at Double or Nothing in May. She gave birth to her daughter in November of that year.

Tay Melo will be teaming up with Mina Shirakawa for her return match. She will be facing the ROH Women’s Champion Athena and STARDOM’s Thekla in the bout.

It’s unknown if Melo plans to make her return to AEW TV before this match, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if she makes her presence felt in some capacity at the December 28 Worlds End PPV before heading to Japan.

The Usos Reunite In First Traditional Tag Match Since July 2023

0

The Usos returned to tag-team action this week, marking their first traditional tag-team match in over 17 months. At a WWE live event in Jacksonville on December 26, the brothers reunited but fell short against The Bloodline‘s Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

This long-awaited reunion was a treat for fans of the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions. Their last traditional tag-team match took place at WWE Money in the Bank in July 2023, where they secured a victory over Sikoa and Roman Reigns. That match also marked Reigns’ first time being pinned in WWE in close to four years.

Although this marks the duo’s first traditional tag match in over a year, Jimmy and Jey have been working together recently. At WWE Crown Jewel, the brothers joined forces with Reigns to face Sikoa, Fatu, and Tama Tonga. Additionally, they were part of the victorious team at Survivor Series: WarGames, where they triumphed inside the titular structure.

Cody Rhodes Makes Triumphant WWE In-Ring Return in Jacksonville

0

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes made his highly anticipated return to the ring during a WWE live event in Jacksonville, Florida, this week. In the main event, Rhodes triumphed over Kevin Owens in a steel cage match, exacting revenge on the self-proclaimed “Real” WWE Champion who had sidelined him for weeks.

Rhodes had been absent from in-ring action since WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14, where he controversially retained his title against Owens. Following the show, Owens attacked Rhodes, delivering a package piledriver that left The American Nightmare injured and written off TV. At the Jacksonville event, Rhodes made a dramatic entrance wearing a neck brace, which he removed before stepping inside the cage.

Drew McIntyre Teases Explosive Feud with Cody Rhodes: “It’s Going To Be Big”

Owens has continued to assert himself as the “Real” WWE Champion, even carrying the classic Winged Eagle title as evidence of his claim. This has left fans speculating about a potential title-for-title clash, possibly at an upcoming Premium Live Event or WWE Raw’s impending debut on Netflix. While a rematch between Rhodes and Owens has yet to be officially announced on television, it seems like a natural progression for WWE’s action-packed start to the new year.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion is set on recreating his massive success in 2024 in the new year.

Kofi Kingston’s Mother Issues Continue After WWE Raw Rejection

0

Kofi Kingston has shown no signs of making amends with his mother over the holidays after what transpired between the two on WWE Raw. During this week’s episode, Kingston mother disapproved of her son and Xavier Woods turning on Big E and walked out when Kofi requested a hug.

On X, Kingston made clear that the issues with his mother are far from over. The former WWE Champion uploaded photos of himself alongside his wife and children as well as his father, celebrating the Christmas season. While Kofi’s mother was present, she was scrubbed out of a photo, making it clear he no longer considers her a part of his family.

Kingston’s issues with his mother are just the latest example of people turning on the New Day given what transpired with Big E. On Raw, Kingston and Woods attempted to align with Dominik Mysterio, a figure notorious for his own betrayal of his father, Rey Mysterio. Despite admitting his disdain for Big E, Dominik criticized The New Day, claiming their actions went too far even for him.

Rey Mysterio also met with the pair, and offered them a place back in the WWE locker room if they apologized for what they’d done. However, Kingston and Woods dismissed the idea, prompting Rey to warn them that “New Day Sucks” chants is something the pair should get used to hearing.

Hulk Hogan Weighs In on Cody Rhodes as WWE Champion

0

Cody Rhodes has been the Undisputed WWE Champion since his monumental victory over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. That win marked the culmination of Rhodes’ long-term storyline and secured his position as one of WWE’s top stars. With the spotlight firmly on him, his reign has drawn praise from fans and industry veterans alike, including two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan.

Rhodes recently defeated Kevin Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event, ensuring he will head into 2025 still carrying the championship. As WWE prepares for significant changes, including RAW’s move to Netflix, Rhodes remains a fan favorite with strong backing from the WWE Universe.

Hogan, a six-time WWE Champion, shared his thoughts on Rhodes’ work as a champion during an interview with Justin Barrasso. Hogan highlighted Rhodes’ ability to balance modern wrestling demands with a nod to its traditional roots.

“A lot of what we did back then still works. From time to time, you see him sort of ‘Hulk up.’ That’s cool to see. But it’s so hard to compare. This is a completely different time.

I slammed Andre The Giant once [at WrestleMania III], and that was it. Would one slam be enough now? I don’t know. So times have changed, but Cody’s doing a great job with the belt—and that’s not easy.”

While Hogan praised Rhodes’ performance, the champion is currently sidelined after suffering a package piledriver from Kevin Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Fans are now waiting to see how Rhodes recovers and what challenges lie ahead for him in the new year.

Dwayne Johnson Delivers Christmas Cheer At The World’s Biggest Toy Store

0

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is an internationally recognized star and spent the holidays bringing some festive cheer to children in London. On social media, WWE’s Final Boss shared footage of his surprise appearance at Hamley’s toy store, where every child received a £100 gift certificate, courtesy of their ‘Uncle Dwanta.’

On X, Johnson reminded his followers about the importance of maintaining positive relationships in the face of adversity.

“We gotta be careful, there’s so much unhealthy toxicity out there on social media, and I’ve always tried to fly above it and not get pulled down into the sludge – and use my social influence/power for the good stuff. The stuff that makes a real positive impact in people’s lives. Life can be tough for a lot of folks, so let’s bring as much joy as we can to people. For me, it’ll always be the best part of fame. We gave a ton of cash away to every kid in this toy store for Christmas.

“Awesome day and cool to chop it up afterwards with my team – we’re grateful to have these special experiences ? Special shout to Hamleys in London (world’s oldest and biggest toy store) for letting us come in and deliver a little joy – and a lot of chaos ? Merry Christmas ya filthy animals and chase the good stuff ??

This isn’t the first time that Johnson has flexed his generous muscles as the ‘Final Boss’ is always ready to give to a good cause.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Dwayne Johnson and his major moves, both in and out of the world of entertainment.
